HE CHOKED ME OUT. 44 ON THE 6TH 44 ON the 6th On June 27th, 2023 officers from the Orlando International Airport Police Department responded to a large group of passengers who were shouting at Spirit Airlines employees at the ticket counter over their response to a canceled flight. According to the police report one of the passengers 41-year-old Edward Harriston was striking a computer keyboard behind the counter when he was instructed by officers to step away and stop shouting. When he refused, an officer attempted to restrain Harriston who responded violently, immediately placing the officer in a chokehold and wrestling him to the ground where he briefly lost consciousness. Other officers quickly intervened and eventually restrained Harriston and placed him under arrest. Harriston's wife was also detained during the incident. You are entitled to give us a room. So, I was the next person in line and I was on the same canceled Cleveland flight, which is what all the very upset people were on. They were being told that they couldn't necessarily get a refund or whatever, so there was a lot of yelling and the first thing that I saw him do is I don't know which officer, but he went first and put one of the officers in a headlock. They brought him down. Took two or three officers to bring him down. I'm not sure what happened with his wife or partner. You could kind of see when his ankle or foot just by them having to I mean, he was very fit, very big, very upset. So, he definitely was the instigator. It was pretty scary. And then as far as your husband's concerned, my understanding is, like I just heard, he's getting x-ray of his ankle and then after that he's going to be transported to jail. He's got several charges, but battery LEO, multiple battery LEO charges, battery by strangulation. He won't You won't be able to see him at the hospital, so Why? Cuz he's under arrest right now. You can't go in in the room with him or anything. So, there's officers there with him right now and then the officers will be switching out for >> out of me. That's what I'm saying. Edward Hairston was transported to a local hospital where his ankle and leg were x-rayed before he was transported to the Orlando County Jail and subsequently booked on charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was ordered detained at the jail pending his trial while his wife was charged with resisting arrest without violence and released same night with an order to appear.
