He's still hitting my car. >> listen. What color Is that What color vehicle are you in? >> Stop hitting my car. >> Ma'am. >> He's following me. >> Okay, so Okay, ma'am. >> He's coming. He's coming. He's hitting my car right now. He's trying [music] to get in my car. >> All right, listen to me. >> He's trying to bust my >> Okay, where are you at, ma'am? >> He's going [music] to break my windows. >> Okay. >> He's kicking in the door, please. >> He is showing up at my sister's house and threatening to kick the door in. He just slips through the cracks with everything. He never gets away He gets away with everything. Now he's just going to clap your ears again. >> On March 21st, 2025, [music] officers with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office pulled over a Dodge Ram occupied by Wesley Scott [music] McElroy after calls flooded in alleging that Wesley was seen recklessly chasing and striking a vehicle in the middle [music] of the road. Horrifyingly, McElroy was also observed exiting his truck while stopped at a red light. When the caller, identified as Wesley's ex-girlfriend, saw him approach her window and attempted to shatter it, then [music] force entry into her car. He was luckily unsuccessful. Near minutes later, officers in the vicinity spotted and trailed Wesley's truck observing [music] him commit several traffic infractions, at which point [music] they quickly initiated a tense traffic stop. >> Looking. >> Your call has been updated. >> [music] >> 2014 red vehicle. >> Lock out circle. West Ellicott. >> The red Ram? >> Good morning. I'm Sergeant Bailey with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Can I see your driver's license, registration, proof of insurance, please? Wesley, why are you shaking so bad? What's going on this morning? >> I'm sorry, but while you try to have a conversation with my kids, I'm not Look, I'm infuriated. >> Okay. Look, sitting sideways across two lanes and doing 63 in a 45 are the reasons why you're stopped today. >> I'm just trying to get a hold of my ex-wife picture and we talked earlier. >> Okay. That's all that's happened between now and the time that I stopped you. >> Yep. >> Right? Outstanding. Give me a few minutes, I'll be right back. >> He has a no violent It's a no violent contact order, if it's the same guy. Is his name Wesley? >> Yeah, it's him. He was blocking two lanes of traffic and out of the truck running around when I first seen him. >> Okay. >> I just couldn't get up to him in time before they got the green light and he took off. >> He was out of his car? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, depending on what damage is done to the vehicle, it might be a violation of the no violent contact order. >> There's a passenger in the car, too. I don't know what his his name is, but >> Interesting. >> I mean, I've also got him speeding. >> In the midst of speaking with Wesley, a second deputy on scene took the time to run a background check on him, where disturbing details quickly emerged. It was confirmed that Wesley had an existing no violent contact order with his ex-girlfriend, meaning if his behavior today was confirmed true, it would violate that no contact order. Seeking key information, a female deputy was sent to search for his ex-girlfriend, who was soon located visibly shaken at a Wawa near the incident location. Quickly rushing over to her, the victim now shares in-depth details about the horrifying events [music] that took place that morning. >> He was sending me messages saying, "I'm going to follow you. I'm going to get you." >> So, who's this person? >> This is my ex-boyfriend. There's a a domestic violence thing going on. >> Okay. All right, so it's okay. Do you want to step out for a minute? >> I don't know. >> Do you have your ID with you? >> I'm so scared. I don't even know where he's going to find me. >> no, no, no. Hey, hey, he there's that, but he's with them already. They stopped him already. So, you're with me here. So, we're at different locations, all right? All right, so let's go You have your ID? >> I don't I don't know everything that's on the floor cuz he hit my car so hard. >> You were driving. Was he Was he texting you? >> My phone was going off and I didn't I didn't look at it until just now, but it said, "What's wrong with you? Pick up the phone. Really, I'm going to get you, [ __ ] I hate you. Stop with the cops." He said, "You've got about 15 minutes before I start to ruin the rest of your life. I'll follow you. Don't worry." >> All right, what's his name? >> Wesley Macalroy. >> So, you were just driving down Southport. It's okay. Do you need Do you need any of this or something? >> No. >> So, did he cause this? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, what did he do to cause that? >> He hit my car. >> What did he hit it with? With his truck? >> With his bumper. He did it to the back, too. >> All right, let me take pictures. 236 to 207? >> was different. This was a different one that he did, but this was just now. >> Are there damages on the other vehicle? >> His whole truck is screwed up anyways, so you're not even going to be able to tell. This all this. We've got my car, the whole thing. That's how I knew like something was going on and then I seen him in the rearview mirror. All this is all red from his truck. All of this. >> So, she has she has damage in her front, uh, left side and then in her rear bumper. >> I felt something jerk my car and I'm like, "What the hell was that?" And then I noticed that he was behind me. >> behind you? >> Then he hit me again and then I called 911 and he came up beside me and started hitting my car. >> Okay. Isn't there traffic cams? Like you can see all of this happen. He's messaging me. >> If you admit to a crime, we're going to take you to jail. If not, I'm going to give you a ticket for the way that you're driving and let you go. >> Just Just give me a heads-up. >> Okay. This guy hit all over the >> Yeah. >> All over the truck, but that looks fresh. Hello again. He's going to go to jail again, Annie. So, he decided to use the truck to smash into the side of our car today. >> I just want to get my truck. I don't want to get it impounded, but she's a wreck down there, so I'm going to go right down there and get her, and then >> So, this is Wesley's mom. >> Yeah, I've run her from where I'm at. >> Um the damage on there is fresh, and it's exact uh sides I already was saying. Yeah, no problem. No, you're good. Don't impound the truck. That's if we're taking him to jail, but there's no There's not a Can you check to see if it's still there? Cuz if it's still there, then he's going to jail. If Wesley's driving. Wesley, in the meantime, do you have any questions for me? >> Yeah. I need you to come look at the hole in the truck. >> Uh the damage is reported from all the witnesses that watched you do whatever you just did. >> I'm going to get my truck damaged on the truck which has been here the whole time. There's no new damage to my truck other than Do you have any with my truck on damage? >> Okay. >> Do you have Do you have some way to to prove that? Do you have some some photographs or some accident report that you filed or >> Well, I want to follow the image. Yeah, I can show you I can show you where they were on the truck previous picture. >> Okay. What are you trying to say is new? I'm not trying to say anything is new in particular. I'm the one that stopped you. I've been out with you the whole time. Everyone else that's involved in this case is is doing that investigation. That's why I'm just giving you the heads up from all the people that called in about the stuff we're doing. It sounds to me like that would be a crime in the state of Florida. So, that's why I just tell you. >> Yeah, it's all my life. >> Oh, that might be all it's I mean if that's true and that's what we can prove I'll stand You're going to get a a ticket for driving like crazy and you'll be on your way. >> He might have drugs in the car. He might have drugs in the car. >> He might have drugs in the car? >> Sent me a picture last night of drugs that that he was going to kill himself. Um >> Have you replied or anything? No. >> No. >> Oh goodness gracious, there's a lot of texts. >> I woke up this morning with like 50 text messages. >> 50 messages? >> Like 30. That's what he sent me a picture of. >> Oh, he's got a bunch of baggies with like blue pills and some Looks like meth or crack. >> And I think that's cocaine. I don't I don't know. >> Okay. >> Um >> I think I think I We went to a call. >> Yeah. >> I do remember you now. I recall. Okay. >> I remember you, too. >> You left him? >> Yeah. >> Oh. Um >> That's his mom. >> She can be here. It's okay. Okay. >> All right. >> They're at his mom's house. at her friend's house. He tried to kill me. I was just trying to go to my therapy session [laughter] to get her and he just started ramming my car and then I noticed that it was hitting my car only. >> Do you have time for like You okay to give me that statement? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. >> I was driving on 41 going to Punta Gorda >> Mhm. >> to go to my care um first therapy session for care >> Okay. >> and all of a sudden I felt like a jolt in my car and then I felt a harder one and then I looked in my rearview mirror and it was Wesley. And then he hit me again. He was trying to get my phone to call 911 and I got 911 operator on the phone. I was at a light and he pulled up next to me and just started ramming his truck into my car and then he ended up getting out and started hitting my window telling me to roll the window down you stupid [ __ ] and then I was trying to tell the 911 dispatcher like can I run the red light? Can I run the red light? Probably no. >> [snorts] >> I got away and then the next light was red again and he did it again. He hit my car again, got out and started banging on my window again. They pulled him over and he pulled over and then I was like I told them that I wasn't pulling over anywhere near where he was. >> Okay. >> So I came here. >> Is he texting you all this or >> He texted me. I wish I didn't see anything cuz I was on the phone. >> So that concludes our statement at 9:17. >> It's a continuous back and forth thing. So they used to have a no they used to have a no violent contact order against each other or she had one against him. He violated it in North Port. We Baker acted him on that day. I'm assuming he just got out. Now he's doing this. >> He's hitting a vehicle that belongs >> to both of them. >> Yeah. They're both registered in the >> They're both on this one. >> Yeah. >> So I can only imagine that they're on all of them. So if he if he was hitting the car intentional, I mean, we wouldn't have hit and run cuz it's not like he left. He's just continuously hitting it. >> I mean, he did leave. >> Then you hit and run your own vehicle. >> Yeah, I mean, if it's his own I don't know. >> You know, the order the order for no violent contact is still there. Nothing's been updated as far as it being dropped. >> So it's still there. >> There's there's a he's been given a notice for appearance for another court date and entered a a plea of He's not guilty. So nothing's been updated to that contact yet. >> It's still current? >> So, it's still current? Yep, as far as I'm concerned. >> All righty. >> So, and that's that's violent contact to me. I mean, you're ramming a freaking golf cart. I don't give a [ __ ] if it's his car or not. I'm going to call Flores back. So, I mean, we got enough to 10-15, I'm just on the freaking no contact over here. >> Hi, is this Gabrielle? >> Oh, yes, it is. >> Hello, this is Deputy Trotter, Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. So, you called in referencing that you know someone or that you saw someone smash a windshield? >> Uh yes, sir, I did. >> Okay, can you do me a huge favor? >> Yeah, I can do that. >> What I want you to do is I want you to pull into there's a Hispanic uh grocery store. I want you to pull in one of those parking spots and I will meet you over there, okay? If you're going to do a show-up, if you can identify him saying 100% that's him, then he's going to get arrested. >> You're definitely going to need to talk to somebody today. All right? If they're arresting him, >> Okay. >> Okay. >> For what For what's he getting charged for? >> So, if that contact order is there, he he he broke it and it's a violent. This Whatever he did is violent, okay? Him doing this is going to be a rude awakening for him, okay? >> It's not I hope he gets out. He's just going to come up. You're being nice. >> So, do you have any Do you have any plans of moving to a different area or something? Do you guys have kids in common? >> Yeah. He just showed up at my sister's house and threatening to kick the door in, saying that he's going to take me and I filed a police report with Sarasota County and I was supposed to get transferred to Charlotte County, but I don't know if they ever if the judge ever signed the warrant or what. I don't I don't know. >> I'm getting a warrant. >> I've been trying to do everything that I needed to do to protect me and my kids and I can't even drive. >> No. I under I'm just going to go there. >> I'm eating everything I had, which is in reference to the drugs. >> You said that right now? >> Yeah, just now. >> Are you guys with him still? >> 9:20. >> He's he's eating some drugs or something right now. He's still texting her right here. >> Tell him I was just trying to get you to talk to me. Baby, please fix this. >> you there were some blue pills, some crack cocaine, or a >> Tell them I all I did was get out and knock on your window. It's all to fix it. Tell them it's all damage to my truck. >> All right. So, you're still texting her? >> In the middle of gathering details from the victim, multiple text messages come in from Wesley while he's still actively on scene with the officers. [music] But, these weren't ordinary text messages. Wesley shared pictures depicting his a vast array of drug paraphernalia with a bone-chilling message attached stating, "I'm eating everything I have." Regardless of the intention behind his messages, this was a serious threat of [music] personal harm. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, officers on scene urgently order Wesley out of his truck to speak about his actions. >> Wesley, do you mind stepping out of the truck for me, please? >> Leave me your message. >> Why are you getting me out of the truck then? >> I'm getting you out cuz I want you out, number one. And number two, apparently you've been down this road before. >> Yeah. >> So, will you step around here for me? Um I want to make sure you don't have any weapons or anything on you. >> Now, what if I have my wife tell you I didn't get do anything but get out and talk to her? Like knock knock on her window trying to get her to talk to me. >> I Listen, I I don't know if that would help you or not. I Because I've been out here with you the whole time. >> Right. >> So, I I don't I don't I honestly I don't know if that's going to help you or if that's going to hurt you. I I have no idea. >> Is my mom allowed to come over here with me? >> Uh no. No, I'd prefer that she just hang out right there. >> Figures. >> What's that? >> Figures. >> Yeah, I mean I don't want to start bringing people over here. I wouldn't let Joe Blow or your mom or my mom over here. >> Anytime y'all come to my house when we're having a domestic dispute or whatever, her mom's allowed to come on the scene. And she's just She tries to [ __ ] me every chance she >> Oh, yeah, definitely not the case. >> Oh, no, it's >> You can play woe is me all >> No, I'm not. I'm not. I'm just >> 100% you are. >> No, I'm not. I was just saying. Yeah, you are stirring. >> You cry about all you want, but I'll tell you right now, I don't [ __ ] know you from anybody. >> I'm not saying you do. >> So, then why you say you guys? Didn't that what you just said? >> Yes, and I'm not saying you and you. >> Listen, respect is a two-way street. Have I not been respectful to you the whole time that I've been out here? >> Yes, I am. I'm not trying to disrespect you. I'm not I wasn't intending that to like offend you. It wasn't directed at you. >> Listen, all I ask for is just simple respect from a person to a person. Right. I respect you as a man >> Yes, sir. >> just like I respect anybody else. I don't I'm not treating you any differently cuz of whatever your history or I don't I don't know anything about you. I know I wrote you a speeding ticket today for hauling ass. I saw you out there in traffic. I know people are calling in about you. That's all I know about you. >> I appreciate >> And our our brief interaction. That's it. >> I understand that. >> But I I don't want I don't I don't know why you want your mom here with you. I wouldn't want your mom here with you or my mom here with us. >> It's just [ __ ] Every time anything happens, her mom's always allowed there to go take my kids from me. >> I don't know anything about that. I have zero [ __ ] clue about it. >> But I'm telling you >> And he's getting arrested right now. For for what though? What's the charge cuz it's probably just going to be a freaking smack in the wrist cuz he gets away with everything. >> And they were over there all that. >> Can they um Baker Act him for that? Again, he's already been Baker Acted already because tried to kill himself. And he like I said he said to me last night that he didn't say I'm going to kill myself, but he said me a lot of things about the drugs and how he was going to eat them and >> And did he also say something recently about like wanting to kill himself at night at his phone or something or uh >> That was that was when he got Baker Acted. He's calling me. How is he calling me if you're arresting him? >> Hold on. Listen. >> Hey, this is Deputy Flores. >> Hello. >> This is Deputy Flores. >> Yeah. >> What do you need? >> Um trying to talk to my wife. I didn't call you, I called my wife. >> Yeah, she doesn't want to pick up. >> And she laughs. >> What what is it that you need to tell her? >> Well, one I'd like to tell her I love her. Why isn't she responding to me about my son? Why isn't she like allowing me to talk to my son? Why is she I don't I don't know I don't know what's going on here. I've got like six cops over here talking about damages on my truck being new and they're not. And this all this truck has been this way the entire time. >> All right, uh, call another day. You're on a traffic stop. >> Okay, I'm on a sh- A traffic stop now? I I could get a traffic stop on you. >> I understand that, so but the traffic stops the traffic stops over. >> Oh, so then I'm being detained? >> Yes, you are being detained. >> Do you need to talk to anybody? You're not having any thoughts of harming >> No, I just I just want to feel safe. And I don't feel safe. I can't even drive on the road anymore. >> Couple times that when we were over there, right? Like he seemed very like, you know. >> It's a It's a lie. It's all It's all a lie. It's all a lie. He's manipulative. And like I like I mean, you just heard him. I don't know what the problem is. These are all old things on my car. Get out of here, dude. No, she'll tell you just the same. My trucks look like this. My mom knows, everybody knows. I've got pictures of the truck. It's been My landscape partner wrecked this truck on the right side from the headlight to the [ __ ] tail light. A month into me owning I didn't even know a non-violent no contact existed. It's the dumbest [ __ ] thing I've ever heard in my life. Yeah, I went to first appearance from Charlevoix County Jail. And she had requested the state >> Oh. >> to do a non-violent no contact cuz you guys arrested me for battery when all I did was put my hand on her shoulder and say, "Hey, can we take this outside away from the kids?" How can you have no contact but allow me to still be are same home? >> Uh, so I'll tell you. >> No, but It's It's no violent contact is something different. So, now generally speaking, very generally speaking, meaning if now that you guys are in the same home and you say you have a no violent contact, if you punch her in the face, I'm not saying you do that, I'm just saying >> I know, I get you. >> then not only do you go to jail for battery, but you also go to jail for there's an additional charge because a judge has told you there's no violent contact. >> I'm trying to gather my thoughts, I just don't understand and it's feeling everything. He just slips through the cracks with everything. He never gets away He gets away with everything. I like I had I left I own my house. I'm the only one that owns my house and I left my house and I've been at my sister's for almost two Tomorrow makes two weeks. I have dogs there. I have animals there. I gave his mom I gave his mom my house keys so I don't have a reason to go back there. I have no way to get into my house. >> You don't You don't need to go back to that house. >> Cuz if she's taking care of the animals and he's been staying there with all of his little junkie friends having a whole field day of whatever and I That's another thing like when I go back to the house, how do I know that there's not drugs in my house? There's kids there. He's I don't want my kids to break anything up and I haven't been there. I don't know if he's like hid something or like, you know, I don't know. Just like if I say, "Can you come search my house?" Like can you guys will come search my house? Like bring a dog or something. >> So, I don't know how that would work. Let me Let me Let me ask somebody and see if that would be something. If you get Once you get back >> He burned all my furniture. He busted my stove, like my glass top stove was shattered. He busted my china cabinet. That was because I left on Saturday last week. And then the next day he destroyed my whole house. I have nothing. I can't even bring my kids there cuz there's nothing there except provide for them. >> So, why did you leave? >> Why did I leave? >> Yeah, why wouldn't he have to leave? >> Cuz he wouldn't leave because the no contact order says that he's still allowed to be there. So, when the state attorney office called me and asked me how Look, they give you a no contact order or they could do a no contact without violence. I thought, okay, he can still talk to me, but he can't be violent with me no matter if it's verbal, physical, whatever the case is. Apparently, that's not the case. And I was under the impression that he would still have to leave, which is 100% my fault because I should have asked and I didn't. >> While personal accounts by both Wesley and the victim were given, police need to secure as much evidence against Wesley as possible to ensure enough probable cause was established. Thankfully, a [music] witness who observed Wesley's reckless actions on the road made her way to the scene, where she would provide her own shocking account of the events that took place that morning. >> Hello. Um I got a call from one of the sheriff's office basically Oh, okay. Yeah. >> I got to grab a statement from you if you're cool with that. >> That's fine. Thank god y'all got him. That was very scary. So, I was coming from Starbucks and right by that McDonald's, we all had to slam on our brakes. I had to slam on my brakes really hard. That's when I saw his truck parked and that lady behind behind him and him punching her driver side her driver side window. >> Okay, can you describe the two cars for me? >> His car was a red Ram with a bunch of stuff in the back. Hers was like a car like mine, but I think it was like tan. >> So, like a tan SUV you'd say? >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> So, he was on the driver side and I I don't know what was going on, but all I saw was him just punching and punching her window out. I'm driving and then I see her car coming up. She's trying to get away from the individual and he keeps on following her going in and out of traffic. Not like that not like a median, but like in the grass with sand and stuff. He went off there, he got behind her, parked his car, and then still tried to like antagonize her. >> How so? Did he get out of the car? >> didn't get out of the car, sir. I was trying to get his license plate, but I know it's that exact truck. >> for certain that that's that truck? Okay. But you are 100% for certain that that is the guy? >> Yes, sir. I'm 100% certain. >> Is everything you told me the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? >> Yes, sir. >> All righty. I don't think I need you for anything else other than the statement, so you're all set today. Yeah, thank you. >> I just don't know what to think or what to expect with how this whole situation has been transpiring for the last 3 weeks. My wife has pressed charges, dropped charges, and made up [ __ ] not made up [ __ ] Yeah. Told a bunch of lies, and then and then tells the state You know what I mean? It's everyday You never know what you're going to get out of her. Then she's sneaking around behind DCF, coming to beat me in the middle of the night. You know what I mean? The dumb [ __ ] You never know what they what you're going to get out of her. It's my everything. >> All right, man. Do you want to provide a statement about what happened today? >> I don't feel like I need to. >> You don't You don't need to? All right. Go ahead and put all your stuff down for me. Stand up. Turn around. Hands behind your back. >> All right. What are you reaching for? I'm going to take I'm going to take it out anyway. >> I need you to stay over there for me, please. I want you to stay right over there. Just give me a few and we'll come over and talk to you. So, right now you're under arrest. Turn around. You're going to go back to the car. So, remember that no violent contact order? You just violated it today. >> Violent? >> Yeah, violated it. >> Yeah, but how was I violent? So, I mean, so how did I violate it? >> A violent order? Well, you should know. >> I don't want you to be in handcuffs. >> Knocking on the window. It was a whole lot different to what my witness told me. >> Okay. But that's all you're going to get out of me, partner. >> That's fine. >> No offense, but we've gone through this one too many times. >> Okay. I called her and I didn't do anything violent, then what? And she's on the phone with my mom right now and she had the deputy Florence here on the phone for me. When I called. >> Why would she >> Well, she's going to remember that. Deputies are out with the girl that you talked >> I understand that. >> Oh, so she She's getting information She's giving information about whatever happened to >> Right, I understand that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> It's not answering my question. Anything in your head? >> told you. >> So now being that this is violating the no contact or whatever the Does this mean there's no bond, right? >> Um >> How does that work? >> I believe so. >> Great. >> All right, just hang on, partner. >> Yeah. >> So they are taking him for uh aggravated battery. So it's going to be a felony charge. So it's going to be >> Okay. >> But this is like how the case will be handled in the courts and all that stuff. Information and the vine is basically they'll notify you when he gets released. So that you know. >> Right, okay. >> So I'm going to fill this up for you. So his bond will be way more since it's a felony. Won't be a petty $200 like it was last time. I'm sure it's going to be something cuz this is a felony, second degree felony. >> Eric, do you have any uh Do you have any questions about what happened today? >> I've been in the car for about 5 minutes. I still don't know what the [ __ ] is going on. So yes, I have a lot of questions. >> So listen, if there's something that I can answer for you, I I will. Uh and >> a whole lot of not my business and I don't want to be involved. >> Okay, so that >> I'm just going to go move my van and crazy [ __ ] happened. >> That leads me to my next my next question to you, sir, is do you want to provide a sworn recorded statement as to what you saw, observed, heard this morning? >> I don't know that I would be able to provide any information. >> I don't feel like it's going to be the last time I'm going to see each other. So, well, this is the third time I've met you. Yes, ma'am. He's going to jail. >> Well, also, Wesley once when this whole thing started, I explained to him that he was receiving a ticket from me for the way that he was driving. He wants you to have the ticket and hopes that you can >> to [ __ ] pay it. >> and hopes that you can take care of it for him or make it one of his options. >> You don't even have to do that if you don't want to.
