But but I'm in handcuffs, sir. So, you got to understand I'm like agitated right now. Understand what you're saying. But he didn't have to talk to me like that. I didn't curse anymore. >> Let me Let me I'm going to lock these ones before you before they keep this one keeps like tightening on this. >> Well, that's why it's not locked. That's what I'm saying. >> That's why I keep doing that. Your attitude is what set it off. Okay. >> Me up with like But have I have I gave you any attitude? >> No, but I didn't give you attitude. I didn't say you did. Did I say you do that to me? >> No, that's you telling me. I'm telling you right now. You >> hurt my arm. >> Which one is it? The one on the left. Okay. I I'll work with you. Reason why you're handcuffed is because you became non-compliant. Okay. We're telling you to not shut the door and you started giving attitude to the officer saying that you are not going to move and you're not going to we couldn't touch the door. Okay. We're searching the car. Therefore, you got to step away from the vehicle. All right. Now, it's going to be ultimately up to him whether we ended up arresting you or not. Right now, you're being detained. That doesn't mean you're going to jail. Okay. All right. So, is there anything on you that I need to know about? >> I have nothing on you. >> Okay. I'm I normally ask cuz if >> No. >> Okay. Cuz you're going to be search if you end up being arrested. Okay. So, I rather you be honest with me. You tell me >> rather than anything else. Okay. All right. Thank you. All right. Just hang time for me. Okay. >> What began as a routine check on a suspicious vehicle quickly changed once officers noticed something else. The woman admitted she had been sleeping in the motel parking lot because she couldn't afford a room that night. But as they spoke with her, officers said they could smell marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. From that point forward, the encounter shifted from checking on someone's welfare to determining whether they had legal grounds to search the car. >> Think we check the trunk yet? Do it. There you go. More bags. >> Wet became very hot. I got her handcuffs back. >> Yeah. Oh man. >> Listen, do you think do you take any pills? >> Yeah, they're weight gain pills. >> Okay. How long you been taking them? >> I just started. >> Are there are they're prescribed to you or anything? >> No, we order them off of eBay. >> Okay. They're off of eBay. All right. That's what we're trying to figure out. >> All right. She's going to go to jail for the possession of marijuana and then resisting officer without violence. Okay. >> No. >> Am I being arrested? Yes, you've been arrested for possession of marijuana and then for assisting officer without violence. Okay. >> So, is there anything else you need? >> Can I talk to my sister? >> No. >> I just need her to make a call. Can I talk to my sister? >> Or can I talk to my baby at least? Can I see my daughter for y'all? >> I can roll down the window for you. I can do that for you. But I No more attitude. Okay. >> I don't have an attitude. I'm tired. >> Okay. By this stage, the original reason for the encounter was no longer the biggest issue. According to the officers, the arrest wasn't based simply on finding someone asleep in a parking lot. They explained that her refusal to comply with instructions during the vehicle search, combined with the evidence they later discovered, changed the direction of the investigation. What began as a brief contact in a motel parking lot, ultimately resulted in charges for marijuana possession and resisting an officer without violence.
