Oh, she's she just wrecked into a person's car. >> On November 14th, 2024, in New Braunfels, Texas, state troopers attempt to stop a white Toyota 4Runner for a traffic violation. Behind the wheel is 37-year-old Audrey Marie Schneider. But instead of pulling over, she heads south towards San Antonio. At first, it looks like another suspect trying to outrun police. It doesn't take long for everyone to realize this chase is anything but normal. >> A civilian tried to block her in, but she passed she got past him. Oh [ __ ] Oh [ __ ] We got it. We're down. We're down. We're down. You No. No. No. Nope. Oh, she's she just wrecked into a person's car. Which is She just hit She just hit my car. She just hit Um I'm in Yes. Yes. Oh, I see her. I see her. Here, get out the way. Hurry. Jesus, bro. Okay, now we're crossing crossing we're crossing into Alamo Quarry Market in that parking lot now. I'm going to use my car to stop her. I'm going to use my car to stop her. >> The pursuit spills into the Alamo Quarry Market, where Audrey does something officers almost never see. Instead of looking for an escape route, she starts driving laps around the parking lot, smiling, waving through the sunroof, and casually weaving around shoppers and parked cars. It's less fast and furious and more main character syndrome. >> She's exiting out of Jones mulch burger where where the quarry's at and she just rear ended another car in front of her. >> She's rear ending She's rear ending the vehicle? >> front of her. She's rear ending the car in front of her. >> She's rear ending the vehicle in front of her. Is the vehicle occupied and in motion? >> Yes. >> Yes, the vehicle occupied and in motion. >> Now we're back in the quarry parking lot. >> Okay, so it's in the quarry parking lot. >> Oh She stopped. >> Even after officers try to box her in, Audrey manages to slip away and keep circling the shopping center. But after several more laps and multiple collisions, she finally stops the SUV on her own in front of a storefront. You'd think that's where she'd surrender. But Audrey had one more decision left to make. >> Did she stop? >> HEY. >> [music] >> NO. EASY HANDS. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME? EXCUSE ME. NO. WOO! MOTHER. OKAY, WE'RE NOT DOING THIS. ALL RIGHT. I KNOW YOU. We're going to be friends. >> No, we're not. >> YEAH, WE'RE NOT FRIENDS. OH, YOU WANT TO FIGHT HER? >> All right. You >> Put your hands behind your back. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> OH, WOW. OKAY, THANKS. MERCY. MERCY. I'M YOUR MOTHER. OKAY, YEAH. She punched me in the face. >> You all right? >> Yeah. I did not punch you. >> Yes, you did. >> All right. I guess you all want to get a hold of me. We're being advised to come back to that point. >> [music] >> Instead of staying with the SUV, Audrey jumps out barefoot and runs into a nearby salon hoping to lose officers inside. Troopers move in almost immediately, cornering her after a brief struggle. Turns out hiding in a hair salon isn't exactly the DLC escape plan she thought it was. >> Okay, thank you. Go back. >> They're right there. We can pull them out. >> Do you have anything else on you? >> Uh we're going to get you some gloves. Get some gloves. >> What's that all over your face? >> Um popsicle. >> We got to get EMS to check you. I know you said you're good. >> Yeah. Okay. >> You need some water? >> No. I have a headache. Did any of y'all's units get >> It's a brand new unit. >> No, actually they just hit the Oh. That don't count. I don't know. That's the worst I've ever That's the worst I've ever crashed in the world. >> What were you in the hospital for? >> My heart. >> Okay. Stand up so I can search you. >> You can search me. You can search my crevices, too. If you like to. I'd rather. >> Okay. Oh. All right, we're going to go in my car. You hurt >> My >> You really hurt what? >> The doves. The dove is very hurt. Like a lot of Woo! Hundreds of times, but this is the third major time. Like major, major, major. Maybe. >> With the chase finally over, Audrey is already in handcuffs, but her attitude hasn't changed. She's still smiling, laughing, and talking as officers escort her back to the patrol car while investigators begin piecing together the trail of chaos she left behind. It's the kind of confidence that usually disappears once reality starts catching up. >> It was um sitting on this pillow. >> [snorts] >> I had him covered with my camo jacket, and I strapped him in so he's safe. It was good because I just was having fun. I was playing Mario Kart for the first time in real life. Yeah. It was It was something all right. >> Sorry. >> I'm not sorry, actually. It was fun. Like I Like a 5-minute nap, sometimes even a 2-minute nap. Sometimes like where it really starts to get really, really bad if as long as I'm at a peace level like in a good like Actually, I don't remember if I got Right now, this is where cuz my brain is hard. I don't remember if um my if my I know I'm talking a lot, but that's just >> No, you're good. >> I don't talk it's usually cuz I did go through a major depressive period. I almost jumped out of a helicopter without a parachute. >> Oh my gosh. >> Yeah, I was in a very depressed state. This is a long time ago. I was working for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure campaign. And I was like literally in her deep cuz I was staying at this tiny dump fire. I was super [ __ ] depressed. Oh my god, look at that building.
