police never want to be involved in something as perilous as a shootout but when they encounter particularly violent suspects they have no choice but to Fight Fire with Fire okay please come [Music] out shots fir shots fir going no good shot here are eight instances when police shootouts turned deadly meet Willis Adams who on March the 8th of 2024 was reported to police for causing chaos at the Loyalty in motel Willis reportedly tried to assault an employee and then threatened to end his own life when asked to leave Willis responded by threatening to kill the employee as well prompting a call to police they want you to be issued a trespass warning so that means you pay for bro I got you they already refunded you I made sure they did that how they refund me to your card so to card how look if you come back going to jail I'm I'm done talking I'm done talking come back and going to jail the officers waited while Willis cleared out his room and then demanded that he leave the property but forbade him from leaving in his car after they witnessed open bottles of alcohol inside of the motel room and the vehicle in response Willis continued to linger and trespass on the property and at one point calling the police on himself go ahead put your hands on me man come up here I'm on the phone with him who are you on the phone with you on the phone [Music] me come on bro 911 buddy hey man get your face what I tell you man hear me what I what I tell you ground man get on the ground get on the ground for reason heit meast for no reason seconds hey man bro I'm not a bust you're a [ __ ] dog do give me traff you me for nothing get off me hey man bro I will hurt you I will hurt you quit quit as the two rustled on the ground Willis managed to unho the officer's gun and the two started grappling for it according to the incident report at one point during the struggle the handgun was observed to be pointed directly at the officer and a witness who saw the altercation rushed over right as the gun went off the quick dude quick quick sir I'm not doing wrong he's trying to K me he's trying to he's not me get off dude he's hey get disch nothing dispatch he's got my gun he's got my gun I'm shot I'm shot Willis proceeded to leave the scene with the officer's gun tossing it into a nearby storm Dr drain moments later paramedics arrived and rendered Aid to the officer who'd been shot in the left hand he was transported to the hospital while backup officers Tracked Down Willis and a short while later the suspect was successfully taken into custody detectives attempted to question Willis down at the station but the interview ended after he continued to talk about individuals who weren't in the room a look at his arrest record showed that he had a long history of burglary battery and drug charges but this time around he was charged with attempt murder and held at the Lyon County Detention Facility without bond as crazy as that encounter was it didn't end as tragically as the next attempted arrest where the suspect was waiting for officers with his own Weaponry on August 29th of 2020 police received an anonymous tip concerning an incident that occurred 10 days prior where a woman was shot in the back in a motel a caller advised that 44-year-old Michael Harris had committed the shooting and provided police with his address and they visited the apartment later that afternoon [Music] f [Music] which BR is it the house I don't know no she in the house I'm not I'm was came from upstairs I do live here but don't know I don't know listen listen if he's in there you need to tell us I know Michael Green Anthony Harris Hey sir I mean she she stay up girl and the that with the gun I think heend he jum out the window I'm not sure okay can you open this me please his name is Michel Harris they call Michel M get Maylock pleas shot me your ass he's in that door I'm here upon entering the back bedroom where Michael was he immediately began firing at officers leaving one shot and trapped inside the home after another officer had tripped while trying to escape the gunfire and hit his head on the ground injuring his neck as well the officers noted there was also a woman inside the home and tried to convince her to help them by opening the room door yeah don't go don't go to that window okayy I need you stack a b me all right all right coming up keep the radio down you gotov on no I got no gloves on me this guy you okay I'm got hit in a chest I'm good man my man come out here so we can get you help all right I got this go I got this good come out here no I'm hting the chest serious where where you I'm all right man sec I can't breath he got hit in the chest command put this in [Music] the no hole brother no no hole yes holding your shirt up what hell a Bru you're a lucky mother you all right doesn't look like so he he's breathing and hey let me see your medical show another VI what your medical show Michael was confirmed dead when paramedics arrived on scene a short while later both the injured officers were trans transported to the hospital where it was found out that the officer who was shot was narrowly saved by his bulletproof vest the impact of the bullet on the vest did cause a collateral injury to his chest but both he and the other officer went on to make a full recovery we'll never know exactly why Michael chose to end things that way but we can only assume this next coward chose a shootout with the police to avoid going to jail for abusing his girlfriend a last thing I want to do okay please come out on May the 4th of 2024 officers responded to a local milel 6 for a call concerning a domestic disturbance the suspect 37-year-old Zachary Stockton had reportedly threatened to kill his girlfriend after she allegedly cheated on him he even went as far as to produce a gun and aim it at her chest the victim managed to discreetly contact someone on her phone for help and that person contacted the authorities [Applause] please for man come out with your hands empty please what come out with your hands hands empty please come to the door got chat with you see what's going on okay police can you keep your hands visible for me other hand please no why I do you have a gun sir we got to report that there was an assault here can you come over here there was no assault okay all right can you talk die by cop but it didn't pan out as he would end up Surviving and recovering in the hospital before being transported to the Grant County jail and booked on felonious charges of unlawful possession of a firearm second de assault and three counts of first-degree assault he's currently being held without bond however the shooting is being investigated further after officials say the officer could have possibly shot himself in the foot after accidentally discharging his weapon if you think that's painful just watch until you see the next stop where an officer's dragged by the suspect's vehicle swear to God push your hands up you put it aart on June the 29th of 2019 an officer performed a simple traffic stop on an SUV with illegal window tent he then goes to confront the driver identified as officer alongside his SUV but still managed to speed away it would only take police a day to locate and arrest him though he was transported to the hospital for treatment and then booked into the John pul Correctional Facility during his trial the prosecution pushed for an attempted murder charge but Rocky's family and defense team argued for a lower sentence emphasizing his visible Terror in the video and claiming that he fled out of fear for his life ultimately Rocky was convicted of manslaughter in January of 202 four along with charges of aggravated battery on an officer fleeing and attempting to elude possession of a firearm by a convicted felon attempting to deprive an officer of protection communication possession of marijuana and resisting an officer without violence he was then sentenced of 30 years in prison the officer involved was cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting but has voluntarily left the department since the incident this next officer probably considered doing the same thing after this rather halfhazard attempt at securing an armed suspect [ __ ] on April the 10th of 2024 officers responded to a residence to execute an arrest warrant for 34-year-old Joshua Ramos a felon who'd violated a no contact order however when they tried to make entry into the residence they were greeted by 28-year-old Clint and his assault rifle hey look to me huh you looked at me you good yeah I came to the door and looked out the window Sheriff's Office come to the door there's a lot Sheriff's Office come to the door now sh right I mean yeah it wasn't it wasn't dreads but he looked right at me out this window so Sheriff's Office come to the door oh where we got what did he say you want to here you want to watch this I'm G to go around watch that one here [ __ ] you come to the door dude come to the door watch this Sheriff Kine you want got a gun go Clint was now behind the house firing his rifle at officers from the back door with the backyard gated in and the officers tried to gauge how to best approach him without being directly in the line of fire yeah this isn't a good location no um let's see ma'am ma'am get in your basement if you can get in your basement what's our location that's it's 13419 Crestwood Drive east3 cop all what [Applause] and yeah you can have ambulance stage in the area but you have to stand by and work for [Applause] uh Cruiser to retrieve some heavy artillery and it was at that point that Clint began firing towards the patrol cars he in the back he in the back suspect going back inside he where you where look at me bud get down you got bloody nose bud rifle hit you your rifle [ __ ] hit you dude okay toally we need to get youring car out of here yeah we need armor 1265 what's the estimated time in this armor we have multiple officers Pinn down no we need armor yeah I took something in my leg here get out here okay get him out of [Music] here dud I don't have any blood on you bu Jack all right what's want is there a k9 in that car ahead of you yes that's uh my dog's quiet though is that [Music] him where is he suspect's down on the ground right now we're giving them command okay stop stop show me show me show me 1268 suspect is down in the yard he was firing at us again we're giving him commands at this time show your ass moving show me youring ass show me your fing ass suspect does have body armor on show me youring [Music] ass he's right here on the other side of the shed the other side of the shed in between the house and the shed glint would pass away moments later as a result of multiple gunshot wounds and 10 days later Joshua Ramos there original suspect of the warrant was found and arrested as it would turn out the house belonged to Clint's father and Clint had been living there for nearly two years after evicting the previous tenants one of whom was suspected of being the subject of the warrant which would explain why the warrant was served to that address while we can't say for sure why Clint had chosen to react so violently to police his father later expressed his belief that his son may have intentionally fired at officers in an attempt to end his own life it's unfortunate whenever an encounter ends that way and we greatly encourage anyone who needs mental and emotional help to seek it before it's too late or before they end up like this next suspect on February the 23rd of 2024 dispatch received a call stating that a man had brandished the gun at another man near a local hiking trail and moments later the caller was able to flag down an incoming officer and alert him to the the suspect's vehicle which was leaving the scene the suspect was later identified as 40-year-old Steve Ventura [Music] W you don't have any one [Music] like they're going they now phone [Music] on head [Music] head look like we're going to be North on Green Ridge [Music] [Music] oh shots fired shots fired suspect hit I got I got shots fired get give me some people over here now shots fired shots fir suspect hit I got I got shots fired me some people over here now after shooting into the officer's windshield Steve retreated into the residence that he' parked in front of which turned out to be his girlfriend's home thankfully the officer wasn't hit by the gunfire and he went to hold the suspect off until backup could arrive Man black we're native wearing a cream colored sweater he went in towards the house area send me everybody you got he's still armed I got no eyes on he went to the West get out of here get out of [Music] here the red vehicle is in the middle of intersection right there to the to the south of us we got a contact address right here he could be anywhere keep an eye out to the right here I gotta I gotta stop here I got up up top give me some more units to the West we got neighbors saying that he might have jumped some fences in the back here west of us all the way to Hill crest he could have made it to Hill crest already cream colored sweater male black or native with dark hair [Music] right yes he's the one who's shooting at me I'm okay don't have you I'm good I'm going to be to the he's going to be to the West hands up hands up com towards me you went to the West on foot on foot he could have been he went to the West these Target address areas right [Music] here okay yeah I'm okay y he went to the West he came out of that went straight west I got at least a dozen rounds [Music] off I got down here that's stay back the officers rushed the home to find Steve laying in the yard dead from a gunshot wound to the Head police initially believed they had neutralized the suspect but his girlfriend informed him he'd actually ended his own life before the officers could as chaotic as that encounter was it still wasn't as violent and unexpected as the next attack which literally left an officer fighting for his life after the suspect grabbed his firearm on May the 11th of 2023 a license plate reader alerted an officer to a U-Haul truck that had been reported stolen a week prior that U-Haul proceeded to pull into a gas station and the officer followed behind to confront the driver 38-year-old Brandon Lon sure you and the officer wrestled in the front seat he put the cruiser into reverse and hit the gas causing it to Ram into the McDonald's building and two cars before coming to a stop at the same time backup was on the scene with our guns aimed at the cruiser get off my gun take just sir you're not going to down now right get off my gun get off my gun get off my gun let's go over my gun he's go for my gun please let please just get back get off my gun is it just crash it into the [Music] Walmart what in the car in the car what car the SUV in the SUV get down on the ground get down on the ground he on suspect is pronounced dead the officer was transported to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries that he sustained while fighting the suspect it was later discovered his officer's double lock holster was ultimately what saved his life while the first lock had broken the second held the gun in place and prevented the suspect from taking it that was certainly a huge Stroke of Luck for our officer but these next officers needed a little more than luck to catch this armed and dangerous 17 your own you CL of a red vehicle on May the 22nd of 2024 Witnesses contacted the police stating that they'd seen several men inside of a vehicle openly wielding knives officers received a description of the car and a short time later they located it and attempted to initiate a stop but It sped forward prompting a high-speed Pursuit there a vehicle failing stop vle at least two [Music] up speed 40 40 now speed is currently 40 mph in a 30 for advanced IP in a suitable Mark vehicle IC One driver ic1 driver taking a right right onto royon Avenue uh road conditions are dry traffic is current light and risk is medium due to vehicle uh not stopping and the speed is taken it's colliding a red vehicle it has gone left left into barlin where the true gym is we're being bogged down by traffic stand by we've got a slight loss there there [Music] yeah where where get on the [Music] ground the driver and the sole occupant of the vehicle a 17-year-old boy was arrested and transported to the police station during a search of the vehicle officers recovered a machete and a knife and a sheath for one of the weapons was later found on the suspect the following month a suspect pleaded guilty to his charges and was sentenced to a six-month Youth detention and training order and a 15-month license suspension despite being head on chances are the crash didn't hurt nearly as much as this next one on June the 9th of 2024 911 dispatch received a call reporting that 60-year-old Kenneth Gardini was threatening his family with a gun a police department operator 92 um I guess my husband shot a gun in the house okay what's the address lasus is anybody injured no it I guess went through the bathroom wall into towards my daughter's bedroom okay and you said nobody's injured correct no is anything going on there was he is it accidental he picks he's been fighting with me on and off on and off for the past month okay okay what's his name ma'am Denny Danny Kenny Kenny what's his last name jardini does he still have the gun in his possession I don't know where it's at I don't know what he's doing I done [ __ ] up okay I done [ __ ] up has he been drinking at all ma'am yeah is he under the influence of any drugs or alcohol no no drugs just alcohol okay what color shirt and pants is he wearing ma'am he's wearing a gray tank top he just slammed the door he's in my room a mother is he trying to leave now no he's he's cled himself in the room he's in the bedroom mhm does he have the gun in there I don't know what he did I I my daughter said D came through her room okay and there's a hole in the bathroom and there's a hole in her room was he trying to harm himself at all or do you know anything like that he's constantly telling me I'm going to has he pointed the gun at any of you in the home at all and he said no no no ma'am do you know how many guns I'm sorry what kind guns they are yeah there's a lot I probably only just pulled out one okay but what other kinds of guns does he have do you know anything about the guns he has yeah okay what do you know about them what kind are they he's got one with him your husband mhm who does he have with him an officer he's trying to leave what kind of vehicle does he drivve in he's white driving a white Chevy the cops are out with their guns he's yeah he took off in the truck yeah he's got a [ __ ] gun it's probably a nine he has a gun with if that's what was in it yeah a 9mm as reported in the call Kenneth fled the home in his truck when he saw the officers approaching but the drunk driver didn't make it far before t-boning another vehicle at an intersection hands up your hands up get your hands up don't move for anything you can get shot stay here with me uh keep your hands up we can get bit by dog get out of the car with your hands up keep your hands where I can see them you're going to get officers in an obvious attempt to get the reaction that he got a barrage of bullets following the shooting the officers immediately began life-saving procedures on Kenneth and made sure the other driver was okay before both were transported to the hospital fortunately a very disgruntled Kenneth successfully recovered from the ordeal and following treatment he was transported to jail and booked on charges of assault with a firearm upon a peace officer and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner no officers were harmed during the encounter using a vehicle for cover like those officers did is the optimal way to stay protected from gunfire but the next cop had no such protection as he engaged in a foot chase with an armed suspect hey where you at on July the 27th of 2024 police were dispatched to an apartment in regards to a DV altercation the officers arrived and spoke to the victim who advised them that the suspect 22-year-old Tobias shy had fled the scene on foot it only took officers 5 minutes to locate him at which point he began and sprinting away oh yeah I got him I got him I got [Music] him hey what you doing where you going yeah I got him I got him I got him hey where you at hey hey shots firing shots fir he just shot at me he just shot at me wait he's shooting at me hey he ran behind the [Music] building [Music] loc he's right here get get the get on the got him I got him I got him I'm going to come out to P Street right now this 504 during the pursuit Tobias was shot in the right arm and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing and charges have yet to be announced for Tobias fortunately that shootout occurred in an unpopulated area where no pedestrians were put at risk but this next suspect on the other hand put hundreds of innocent lives in danger after initiating a shootout inside of a hospital get it get his arm behind his back right now April the 12th of 2021 police found 27-year-old miles Jackson passed out on a bench outside of a bank and after inspecting him and finding possible signs of a drug overdose officers woke miles up and requested a paramedics van to transport him to the hospital here I'm going to have you sit there here hold up stop hey I'm just going to pat you down real quick makeing sure you ain't got nothing on you right no weapons nothing like that can you spread your feet for me I'm going hold on to you they're not going to let you smoke I'm going to hold on to you so you don't follow all right I know I'm wored about you look can can Tobias had several warrants for resisting assault falsification drug possession Weapons Under Disability and DV which meant that he'd have to take him into custody as you can imagine miles wasn't very killing him almost immediately while the officers who fired at Miles were cleared of wrongdoing the officer who initially bought body searched miles before he got into the ambulance was suspended for
