She was taken first to Advent Health where she refused medical treatment and then transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall inmate detention facility. A blood alcohol test later revealed her level to be 0.133, well above Florida's legal limit of 0.08. Lugo Fenol was released after sobering up and posting a $4,000 bond. She was charged with driving under the influence child neglect. Sheriff Rick Staley commented on the case, reminding drivers that impaired driving is always dangerous. He noted that Lugo Fenol was lucky she and her children were able to walk away from the crash unharmed and lucky she didn't injure anyone else. In this case, deputies acted quickly, children were kept safe, and a dangerous driver was taken off the road.
