How you doing? I'm okay. I just totally got T-boned. Okay. You mind stepping out for me real quick? Where's everybody else that was in the car? >> Nobody else was in the car. Nobody else was in the car? >> Not a single person. Okay. So, what happened? I was turning left and somebody completely sideswiped and hit tail end of my front right and it's still there. >> Where were they? Where were they turning from? From right there. This road right here turning left and I was turning left as well and I had the right of way. I had the right Do you have a green light or red light? I had a green light. I had a green light. I had a green steady light and I was coming from that way, turned left and then this was like this. >> Or you were on I was on 25, not 35, I'm sorry. >> Okay. You were on 25 heading north or south? Is that way is south. Towards St. Charles or towards the south? Okay. And I was heading to 25 this way. On the Country Club? And as soon as I did this, right my right front end. Okay. And where were they coming from? From on this road. They were going left that way. >> Club? Yes, sir. Turning left? Correct. So, you were turning left onto Country Club from South 25? >> this way. Coming left on this road. >> This is Country Club, though. Okay. So, give me a second here. Okay. I'm sorry. I'm I I'm so frazzled. I finally just got out of the car with the police officer and like shaking up. When I got sideswiped and T-boned, it completely threw my car off. My tire got flat, my front front right end tire end totally veered me off into here. I was holding on for dear life just Go ahead. about to scream. I did call 911 the dispatcher and she said just stay put, they're going to find you. Did you come to a stop at the intersection? I did. Okay. Then how did you end up over here? Again, when I turned left, I got my front right end right end to complete swipes. And you came to a stop? I was at a stop before I turned. Okay, so after you Once I turned, she completely slammed into me and then my tire flattened and I >> come to a complete stop after the accident happened? I do not know. I couldn't. My car was completely veered in. I couldn't even halt until I came to a And you think an SUV hit you? Can you describe it to me? >> like a hatchback looking situation. Okay. I'm not sure. >> it to me? Don't remember? >> Darker colored like a SUV or hatchback. I I do not know, honestly. And then she swerved. I saw her veer right. What's that? Did you see the other driver at all? I did not. No. I saw the car for a brief second and right before I was veering into the ditch. Okay. So, you're coming from South Austin, South Elgin. You were south on 25 making a left hand on a Country Club and then you were side swiped by an SUV that was turning from Country Club onto 25 and they were making a left. So, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If that car is making a left and you're making a left, it would have been a front end damage or it would have been your driver side. So, how's your passenger side get hit? >> I mean, I would say it was more of a T-bone than a side swipe, but But, if the T-bone would have happened, it would have been on your driver side. I know, but I started turning in and she kept going and we were in the intersection when that happened. It would put your driver side against her front end. If you say so, but I know what happened, so. Okay. And nobody else was in the vehicle when the No, not a single >> accident occurred? Okay. And where you headed to? Home. I know I'm going to freak out if I don't get there. How old are you? I'm 28. 28? Okay. Hold tight real quick, ma'am. I would like an ambulance, please. Okay. So, you want an ambulance to go to the hospital? >> Yes. Cool. Track them 1310. Is this your vehicle? Yes, it is. It's registered to you? Mhm. Okay. Okay. Are you wanting to field sobriety test? >> No, I'm not. Okay. You're under arrest for DUI. Thank you. >> hands behind your back. I'll take you to the station, okay? You want to be checked out? No. Okay. Okay. Track them 1310. We're going to walk this way. Okay. Can you grab my phone, please? Yes. We'll come back for it. Sounds good. You show one female, 95 for 55. Yep. I'll get I'll tell you when we're going to walk this way. Okay. I'll toss it over here real quick. Okay. We're going to search your body. Before we do that, we got to take your purse off. >> Yeah, I was going to say. I'm freezing. >> I'll make you the the phone call. I put the I think it's the keys for Jeep on the hood. There's one key. Up there? Yeah. On the Jeep? On the front hood, yeah. Okay. >> I'll walk out to see you. Okay. Watch the curb. Got it. >> [cough] >> The driver, later identified as 28-year-old Morgan Claire Moraz, was taken to Delnor Hospital after officers obtained a warrant for a blood draw. She was then transported to the St. Charles Police Department for processing. Police say Morgan had a blood alcohol level of 0.13%, which is above Illinois' legal limit of 0.08%. Investigators say the crash killed 27-year-old motorcyclist Ryan Ressl after Morgan's Jeep allegedly hit him at the intersection before leaving the scene. After being processed by police, Morgan was booked into the Kane County Jail, where a judge ordered her to remain in custody while the case moves forward. She is now facing several charges, including reckless homicide, DUI, leaving the scene of a fatal crash, possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic violations. As of April 18th, 2026, Morgan remains in custody at the Kane County Jail awaiting her next court hearing.
