The department invested $6.4 4 million into live stream capable cameras that they can monitor remotely. Mosid's criminal record includes 12 prior offenses in New York beginning in 2009 and including two assaults, possession of a loaded gun, credit card fraud, disorderly conduct, and multiple fair evasions. For this most recent incident, he was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, depriving an officer of his means of communication, and resisting an officer with violence and was held on $10,300 bond. Moscady's case would take nearly a year to complete. Court records show the case had spent most of that year on a single question, whether Mosidi was mentally competent to stand trial. Three doctors evaluated him between May and October of 2022. In October, the court found him competent to proceed. And then on December 1st, nearly a year later, he plead guilty to one count of battery on a law enforcement officer and was sentenced to 364 days in jail. What do you think? Did the courts get it right? Was Mosidity competent to stand trial? Was one year the correct sentence? Let us know in the comments. And thank you for watching this episode of Justice in America. Stay safe.
