I would like to run you through some tests. >> I'm not driving. >> Field soiety test. >> I'm not driving and I would not drive. Okay. >> And I was not driving. >> Okay. >> On the afternoon of November 23rd, 2024, officers with the Springfield Police Department respond to a gas station [music] after an employee reports that a woman walked inside, stating she was drunk and needed help. The employee tells officers the woman [music] appeared disoriented and had just exited a black Cadillac Escalade parked near a concrete [music] barrier outside. When officers make contact with 25-year-old Stacy, she immediately admits she is drunk, but insists she did not drive to the location. >> There's a lot going on, but she's definitely I don't think probably in her right mind to be driving. >> You saw her leave the car. What did she >> What did you see her doing? >> She just walked right in here. She came in and said, "Let me have a drive." She needed a charger for a phone. >> Gotcha. All right. >> But it was just kind of a weird situation and I just didn't want her to get like back in the car driving. >> I don't know if she's intoxicated, but she's Yeah, she's going to try to leave now. >> Okay, cool. We have a conversation real quick. I'll be right back with you. Okay. >> What have you seen her do? Anything at all? The lady that just came up here. I just You just got Gotcha. Okay, you're still okay. Oh, >> okay. [ __ ] >> Yeah, I'm going to go uh run the van real quick if you get here. Hey, do you smell her alcohol breath at all? She is learning about wasn't making any sense what she was saying. Wait, not this way. >> I had him make sure like I'm sure the play is what the call comments had, but I have them double checking that too. >> Yeah, I didn't know if you wanted me to detain her yet or not. So yeah, see out contacts. >> Sure. The other she said she's saying her words, she comes in help. I'm drunk. But later on my drone, it's trying to charge her. Trying to ask them for cash to buy one of their phone chargers. Interesting. They have cameras that would put her in the car. >> Okay. I'm just saying they have cameras, too. That supports it more. >> I'm sure they do. almost like pre that machine. >> Do you guys have cameras that we might be able to look at? >> Okay. >> Yeah. Just >> pre >> just uh it just adds one more thing. We can put her in the car. >> I believe you. But [laughter] >> I mean cuz I saw her like walk in but like no one else saw her walk in. >> No one else has. >> Yeah. And there was nobody else in here at that time. >> She's got the manager over there looking at it now. How much longer she's going to be? >> Did she say she hit this pole? She's making sure that she gets out of the car and walks in there before. >> Yeah. There's like an indentation in it. Uh right side of the sign, but I can't tell if it's new or old. National. >> Absolutely not. Not today. >> Not today. >> You're welcome. You supposed to hang on the bathroom. You supposed to hang in the bathroom? Is she awake? >> Yes, she's awake. She's in the phone. >> Okay. >> Do I be alone in there? >> Yes. When I walked in, she was sitting on the floor. >> Okay. >> Hello. >> Hey, can you stand up and talk to us for a second? Let's go outside, please. >> Hello. >> Let's just go outside and talk to you. All right, let's [ __ ] right over here, please, if you don't mind. >> Hey, what's going on? >> Nothing. I I came in here and I wanted water and that's all I needed. I Ubered over here. My ex-boyfriend kicked me out of his house and all that [ __ ] I'm drunk and I Ubered over here. And then I've been trying to contact my boss and then he is going to come pick me up and take me home. That's it. That's all. Like, and I came in there like asking for water and all that stuff and that's exactly what I got. So, >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> You're saying you Ubered over here? >> Yes. And I can >> Okay. >> Yeah. I have 1% but and I tried to buy a charger in there to charge my phone and they're on their way right now and like I've never Yeah. No, I don't drink and drive. Done that. Been there, done that. Have DWIs on record. Don't do that. But yeah, I literally like have right there proof. >> Right there proof. Like I I told him my Uber here and then I give him my address and it's 1%. And I tried to buy a charger in there and I can't get a charger in there. >> Thank you. Oh yeah. >> You see that? >> It's a little hard to see, but >> Yeah. I'm sorry. It's one hand, but I can charge it. >> Are you saying? >> Yeah. See? >> Uh-huh. >> That's my brother. >> No. No. It's >> Yeah. Sorry. That was like Yeah. It's exactly when I got here and I tried to get a charger cuz it's 1% and Yeah. >> Huh. Well, here's kind of the deal is that I left my car downtown. And >> you left your car downtown? >> Yeah. >> What kind of car? >> It is a It's a uh Toyota Camry. It's downtown. It's right by uh in inner circle and then GP like in a little like thing and I left it there and then I drove here. not drove here, but like I like Ubered here and I got tried to get like a charger because I got locked out of my house >> cuz I left my ID in my friend's car. I'm 25. >> Yeah. Okay, here's kind of my issue. Um is >> my brother's on the way here right now. >> Yeah, that's fine. But the issue is I got camera footage showing that you arrived here in this car. >> That is crazy. It's crazy. >> Okay. >> I do not drink and drive. I don't I've been there, done that. >> Okay. >> Did all that [ __ ] >> Okay. I'm just letting you know what I what I >> going through. Yeah. No. >> No question. >> No. I have a car. >> Mhm. >> Downtown that my friend drove. I have her keys. She rode home in an Uber. to me downtown and then I left came here so try to get a [ __ ] charger because my phone's at 1% as you see >> and I'm just trying to get home. That's all I'm trying to do. And I came in here getting water to be responsible. >> Can you move glasses for me for a second? >> Yeah. All right. So again, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just showing that there's footy Cambridge that shows you arrive in this vehicle. >> I would not drive. I do not drive. I would not drive. I've done that and I've been there and I've done that and I have a felony like in a pain. I would not do that. Did not drive. So, >> okay, that's the story we're going to stick to right now. >> I did not drive. Okay. >> Did not drive. Did not do anything. >> Okay. >> I literally came here to grab a charger so I can charge my phone so my brother can come pick me up. I sent my addresses on the way here. Like that is it. >> All right. So, with the footage of you being behind this vehicle, >> I did not. >> Okay. I'm not arguing with you at all. They showed you in this vehicle. Okay. So, now, right now, based on you're sluring your words. Okay. You went inside and told the clerks I'm drunk >> and I put you behind the vehicle. >> I was not behind the vehicle driving. >> Hey, listen. I'm not trying to argue with you. >> I know. I'm just letting you know I've got a lot of concerns right now about you drinking and driving. >> I'm not drinking and driving. >> Well, you're not right now. That's correct. >> We're already past that point. Okay. So, here's the thing. You've already been through this before. From what you told me, you got a felony for DWI. >> I'm now concerned for your driving right now. >> I'm not driving. >> Okay. You're not driving right now? >> I would never ever drive. >> Okay. So, here's the deal. I'm concerned about your driving right now. >> I'm not driving >> and about your current state. I would like to run you through some tests. >> I'm not driving. >> The field soriety test. I'm not driving and I would not drive. >> Okay. >> And I was not driving. >> Okay. Based on the fatality that I have right now, do you want to do the test? The standardized field soiety test. >> I've never drove. >> So I don't know. Like I always >> pulling up for my brother. That's all I'm waiting for. >> Do you want to do the test? >> What? >> Do you want to do the test? >> What do you mean? >> Standardized build Friday test. It's a yes or no question. Ma'am, last time you do the test. >> I never did anything right. >> Because what? Why? >> I'm asking some simple questions. >> I didn't drive. I didn't do nothing wrong. >> Okay, I hear you, but I don't believe you. >> I didn't drive. I didn't do nothing wrong. I didn't drive at all. I didn't drive. I did nothing wrong. >> Okay. Do you have an ID on you? >> No, I have nothing on it. Okay. >> I don't have I didn't drive. I didn't do nothing wrong. I came here to get charger. That is it. I didn't do nothing wrong. >> Okay, we got demo coming over. >> Okay, perfect. All right, so here's the deal. For the time being, I'm going to place you in my car and we're just going to hang out there for a little bit, okay? Cuz that's probably the best place for you right now. >> Do not drive and not do anything. So, >> okay, perfect. Like I said, right now you're just being detained until I get further information. Come over here to this car. Okay. Have a seat, please. What? Mine what? >> That's my vehicle. Mine. >> Where'd you come from? Who are you? >> Steve, I'm the owner of the vehicle station. >> And it's not going. >> Okay. It's not going anywhere right now. >> I need to >> Okay. But no one's getting into that vehicle right now. >> Pick it up. >> You're the registered owner of it. >> I just bought it from the dealership. >> Okay. Do you have any paperwork on it at all? >> My office. I do. >> Okay, cool. Um, well, here's the thing. Do you want to be involved in this at all? >> Yeah. I mean, I got to pick up my vehicle. >> Okay. You're not picking up right now. That vehicle is not moving until I give it the say so. >> Okay. So, it's most likely going to be towed right now. >> So, I got to walk. >> Yeah. >> That's the only thing I'm driving. >> Okay. >> Why is my vehicle being towed? >> It's involved in a DWI. >> I mean, I was just down the road there. I know she's drunk. >> Yeah, that's why we're here. She can move over to the driver's seat. >> Coming out of the vehicle. Yep. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, I can't have you here right now. Thank you. Appreciate it. I need to clarify those yet. >> I mean, I got to take the paperwork for me that you bought it. >> I can have sent over. >> No. >> They don't release. But I can't >> The title's actually in your name. >> Okay. You'll have to get paperwork proving that the vehicle is yours. A bill of sale, the title with all your information on it. You'll have to bring that. >> I can't just look it up with your ID. >> No, I was glad to request the yard. I want >> So, did you see her come from the driver's seat? >> From the driver's seat, I'm sure, but we go with Chad and he can pull up the video. But he said he saw from the driver's seat. drive somewhere. >> Are they saying she wasn't driving? >> I guess whoever came from the vehicle, like a guy came up from the vehicle, said he purchased the vehicle and he's the one that he called her, said, "Hey, I'm over here. Can you pick me up?" But he's saying they just bought the vehicle. So, I'm just trying to confirm one, she came, did they see her pull in or did he pull in? She moved over from the passenger seat to the driver's seat. >> We can go halftrack the video. That'd be helpful. >> That That'd be helpful. I just Yeah. See the muddy part here. >> Okay. [music] We're going to have a quick chitchat. I'll be right back. >> Okay. The story that she told us when she walked in was that her boss told her to come in and get a phone charger and she said she was too drunk and he said go and get it anyway and we hadn't seen that guy inside until he just walked up when you guys got here. I was more just concerned she I didn't want her driving off again like >> No, that's exactly what I'm concerned as well. >> I mean like I didn't want her like driving somewhere off. We just even heard >> hurting herself or somebody else. >> Just her walking. She was unstable. >> Yeah, she was all over the place like inside just like >> How's it going, guys? >> Pretty good. >> So, I need to see if she is the one who drives the vehicle up or if somebody else drives it up and she moves over. Oink. You see it [music] shipped? >> Yeah. >> There's no one else in that car. >> Nope. >> And you can't see anybody else. >> Out the window. Yeah. There's no one in the front passenger seat at all. >> See? And that guy who's out there now, we have not seen him until he just walked up with you guys. But she took the phone as soon as you guys walked in. >> Yeah. She was on >> Oh, yeah. She went to the bathroom and this house. >> Yeah. We have >> called that guy, >> but I can also play video of that car sitting there with no one getting out of it if you want to see that. >> Oh, that's I just need to see her get out of it. >> Yep, that's exactly her. Yeah. >> She walks in and goes, "Help me. I'm drunk." >> Yep. >> That's how she started the conversation. >> Why do they ask? >> Because we made an arrest. >> You want another driver? Can you prove it's yours? >> Sorry. >> My license is on it cuz I just purchased it. I have x amount of time to >> the plates don't belong to this vehicle. >> Yeah, I sold the vehicle. That's the vehicle I sold. >> Those plates don't belong to this vehicle. >> I know they don't belong to the I sold the I got rid of the vehicle and those are the plates from that vehicle. >> Okay. Anybody can put plates on a vehicle. >> I get that. I mean, all my information's in there. My name's on the dash. >> Okay, we'll take a look at it. Right now, I'm waiting on my other officer to get here. He's on his way back over here now. So, we'll we'll see if we can if the paperwork's in the center console or anything. All right. >> So, if he had if his name was on the title, would you be able to turn it over to him or since it's involved in a DWIS regardless? >> Yeah, it's it's involved in the crime. He's not getting it back. Okay. They said there might be pay for in the center console. I was waiting on you before I open it up, but uh if there is, I'm checking his driving status now, too. So, uh no, we're just taking the vehicle. Here's the deal. There's video footage of her showing up as the only one inside the vehicle. >> So, his story about her missing over the driver's seat, that's false. So, no, she should move over to the driver's seat. go cuz I don't know what uh yeah I don't know if there's alcohol on board or if there's anything else. How do you know her? >> She's a friend of my wife and she was in a fight with her boyfriend and >> I picked her up cuz he dropped her off at a gas station. >> Gotcha. All right, there's that bag for you. Um here's the deal. Uh she's involved in striking this pole. Okay, it's all caught on video. So there's Uh, indicators of impairment. So, the vehicle is going to be towed by us. Uh, do you know where the keys are for it at all? No problem. All right. She's the only one that drove the vehicle. So, they're either on her or they're in the gas gas station bathroom or a thumb with a white loop on it. >> Bob with a white loop on it. I think she had something in her waistband, so she might have it on her. There are two fireball shooters over here, by the way. Hey, just stay seated. What's your name? >> This really hurts. >> Huh? >> What's your name? >> Stacy. This really, really, really hurts. >> And I just got a tattoo on this one. >> Okay, spin around for me. Take a look. It >> hurts really, really bad. Yeah, you don't need a twist. You can get >> Well, I haven't been twisting, but I was uncomfortable. And I just got a tattoo on both my arms. >> I got you. Okay. >> She wouldn't hurt her. >> Okay, they're fine. >> I did not drive. >> Was not driving. I got out of the pass. I got out of the front seat. Correct. >> Did not drive. Okay. >> Never drove. I went inside, got water, went in to get a charger. That is it. Did not drive. Would not drive. Did not do anything at all. >> Hey Stacy, we're beyond that point right now. You are under arrest for DWI. That's crazy. >> Uh, I have the whole thing caught on video of you smacking into that pillar. So, >> no. >> Yeah, there's an indention on the car and there's also a matching one on the little pillar that says Ivy Perks. Okay, so we're beyond that point right now. I just need to identify you. What? How do you spell your first name? >> Stacy. >> What? >> How do you spell your first name for me? S T A C Y >> S T A C E Y. >> Can you Can you come over here? >> No, I can't right now. Why? >> What is your last name? >> Stacy, how do you spell your last name? >> Can you come over here, please? >> Not right now. What's your date of birth? >> All right. >> I was not driving at all, so I don't know why. >> Okay. Stacy, what's a good address for you? >> I don't have one. >> You don't have one? Do you get mail? >> I don't. I'm I'm literally trash. >> Do you get mail anywhere? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> Scratch couch. >> All right. >> My brother, come over here, please. >> No, he's not even claiming you're his brother. >> That's crazy. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. He says no. That's not even making sense. >> Do you have your car keys on you? >> Do you have them anywhere on your body? Okay. >> Okay. Do you have keys? >> To the Cadillac. Okay. >> That's it. Okay. >> To what? >> Okay. All right. That's all I need for right now. Okay. Court records show that Stacy had multiple prior DWI convictions, including a previous felony. Because of those prior offenses, she was charged with persistent DWI in this case. She was sentenced to 5 years of supervised probation and ordered to complete 480 hours of community service. >> I was confused cuz I was like, the chick whose wall that doesn't. I was like, >> Mhm. And she was calling him brother. I'm like, hey, but then you said he was saying about calling his wife. And I was like, I'm real confused at what this relationship. >> For more real police encounters and body camera footage, subscribe to the channel.
