On October 17th, 2018, students at Kur Polytenic College in Russia were attending classes like any other day, unaware that it would be the last for some of them. Among them was 18-year-old Vladislav Rossov, a final year student who arrived on campus at around 10:00 a.m. slipping past his peers unnoticed while he carried a duffel bag and backpack containing a shotgun and several homemade explosives. By going through the back entrance, he cleverly bypassed the metal detectors and headed straight to the bathroom. where he stashed his duffel bag in a stall. He then set in motion his master plan that would result in a mass tragedy. Shortly before lunch break, Vlad arrived at the cafeteria and waited for the doors to be opened. He repeatedly checked the time on his phone, indicating that he was anxiously keeping track of the time while waiting. When he got the chance, he went inside and placed his backpack containing a large nail bomb under the table. The cafeteria quickly started filling up while he returned to the bathroom. And unfortunately, nobody noticed the abandoned backpack before it was too late. The explosion sent deadly shrapnel flying toward the unsuspecting students, resulting in 10 people's deaths and widespread destruction to the college building. After the explosion, Vlad started shooting from the bathroom window before going on a killing spree in the hallways. Keep going. performance. performance. >> His last victim was his head teacher, Alexander Moinko, whom he shot twice from afar before closing in to deliver a final fatal shot to the head. He then entered the library where he sat against a bookshelf and shot himself in the head. Investigations revealed that Vladislav was a loner who was severely depressed and from his digital footprint, it was evident that he had been obsessed with terrorism and mass murderers during the two years leading up to the massacre. He considered the Coline school shooters his idols and appeared to copy their crime down to the way they committed side after the shooting. The tragedy claimed the lives of 21 people and left 70 others injured, making it the deadliest school shooting in Russia since 2004. Next stop is a recent case of an immigrant who sought the American dream, but turned to terrorism instead. >> No, no, no. >> On April 23rd, 2025, a cop in Fairfax County, Virginia, pulled over a 1999 Toyota Corolla for having an expired inspection sticker. The officer soon realized the sticker was the least of his worries. >> That was a heck of a stop, sir. >> I have a gun and I'm I'm armed. I'll let you know. Wally went off on a heated rant about how he was struggling to live in the US, blaming it on its racist people. The cop knew it would be a challenge to handle the situation alone and so swiftly called for backup. Wii opened fire and shot the two officers. Luckily, there was a third officer on the passenger side who shot Wii four times, successfully subduing him. The cops sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, but Wii was pronounced deceased shortly after being taken to the hospital. In the next case, a high school football game came to a sudden halt became the scene of a horrifying act of terror. What is going on? Well, we got people shooting. Oh my goodness. Where? >> In August 2023, a high school football match in Oklahoma was underway. The game seemed like nothing more than an ordinary show of spirited competition until things took an abrupt turn. What is going on? >> What's happening? I have no idea what's happening. What is going on? Oh, we've got people shooting. >> Oh my goodness. Where? >> I don't know. People are down on the field. That's crazy. >> Oh man. >> Everybody get down. The live stream captured the moment when several gunshots echoed through the stadium, sending the players and spectators running for their lives. Police determined that the shooting originated in the visitors side of the stadium, sparked by a heated fight that spiraled out of control. Not wanting the culprit to get away, cops immediately began searching the area for anyone suspicious. Hey, boys. HQ. Shot fire. Shot fire. Hey, hurry. Hurry. Holy [ __ ] >> [ __ ] guns. Hold on. Get on the ground now. Kill you. Don't youing move. Got him. Grab him. Got him. Yeah. Stupid mother. >> Somebody handcuff him. Handcuff him. >> I ain't got handcuffs. >> Neither do I. Mine's on the other guy. Put him on. >> The cops chased and shot down a 15-year-old boy who tried to flee the scene. He was arrested for seconddegree murder, but the charge was later dropped due to lack of evidence. A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed. Amid the confusion, an off-duty police officer working security for the game misidentified a 43-year-old man as the perpetrator and shot him in the chest. Nearly 2 years later, the identity of the shooter remains unknown. In the next case, police cornered a violent serial criminal who struck terror in a hospital ward. On October 22nd, 2022, 30-year-old Nester Oswaldo Hernandez arrived at the maternal ward of Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas to visit his girlfriend, Selena Vtoro, who had just given birth to their child. CCTV footage shows the moment Hernandez walked into the building with a beer in his hand. A concerning sign that he could have been intoxicated. He headed straight to Selena's room, and what should have been a beautiful moment of a parent meeting their child turned out to be a horrific murder scene. Upon entering the room, Hernandez reportedly accused Selena of infidelity and repeatedly pistol whipped her when she tried denying it. While threatening to kill her with a gun, a case worker walked into the room. What happened next was truly shocking. [Music] >> What happened? >> Watch out. Watch out. Oh my god. Dispatch, got emergency traffic. A man with a gun up here for circle. >> DPD here quick. >> Hernandez shocked the case worker who entered the room and seconds later fatally shot a nurse who went to investigate the noise. It was very fortunate that a sergeant officer was right there in the ward who immediately called for backup. >> Go ahead. [Applause] In the split second that Hernandez reloaded the gun and attempted to exit the room, presumably to go on a rampage, the sergeant returned fire, hitting Hernandez in the leg, but it wasn't enough to stop him. >> Okay. I'm Robert. What's your name, partner? What's your name? Talk to me. >> Okay. >> Okay. Listen, we can work this out, partner. Okay. All I want to do is just get the people outside, please. >> We can work this out. Just let them outside. Okay, >> just throw the gun outside. Throw the gun out. That's all I'm asking. >> The cops tried to negotiate with Hernandez to come out of the room and give up his weapon, but he refused to comply. All this while Hernandez's girlfriend had been screaming for the police not to shoot him. >> Let him outside, please. Partner, [Music] please. >> Partner, we can work this, man. Come on. It was only after officers completely surrounded the room and Hernandez realized he had no way to escape that he surrendered. >> Does he No more gun in his hand? >> No. >> He's right here. Due to the delay in diffusing the hostage situation, the whole 13 precious minutes that could have been used to save the two victims were wasted, resulting in their tragic demise. Hernandez turned out to have an extensive criminal record, including assault and aggravated robbery and was out on parole when the incident occurred. He was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Next up is a case in which an irrational driver consumed by road rage committed an act of terror that put countless lives at risk. >> Every mother exit. [Music] >> In June 2023, the annual Grand Floral Parade was in full swing on the streets of Portland, Oregon. Due to the sheer scale of the parade, several road closures were in place to keep the event running smoothly. But all it would take is one man to tear everything down. >> I'm stuck on the [ __ ] freeways all over the place. >> They got it all blocked off. The white center exit. The convention center exit. Every mother exit. Sydney Shawn Mchum was on his way to meet his family when he got stuck in slowmoving traffic. After realizing he would be late, his frustration quickly escalated into a reckless, ragefueled rampage. Sydney carelessly plowed through traffic cones and blew past barricades, blocking the highway exit. After that, it was like something had flipped in his mind. He decided he'd get to his destination no matter the cost person and reckless driving. He was also found to have an extensive criminal record, including being a registered sex offender. He was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in prison. [Music]
