On February 8th, 2025, officers in Springfield, Missouri responded to a crash involving a white van. Before they could secure the scene, the driver fled and nearly ran down a responding officer. The van's fleeing the scene right now. He almost hit me. We're southbound on Golden from Chestnut Expressway. The driver has a prior history of violent offenses, including assault and armed criminal action, adding to the risk of an already dangerous situation. >> I think I have a Henry 5 X-Ray 4 Lincoln. I'm going to terminate. Clear, terminating. And he's driving too reckless. He's going to be going westbound on Mount Vernon. After calling off the pursuit due to the reckless driving, the officer returns to the crash scene to check on the victims, while other units continue searching for the fleeing vehicle. He was ultimately sentenced to 5 years in prison as a persistent offender. His leg's pretty swollen. I don't know if it's broken. It might be broken. It might be fractured.
