On March 8th, 2024, officers with the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a trespassing call at a local motel. After leaving the scene, the suspect returned a short time later, where officers attempted to take him into custody. Within moments, the situation began to spiral into a violent and unpredictable encounter. All right, Mr. Adams. I don't want to pay for it, bro. I don't want to pay for it, bro. >> I got you. After speaking with officers, the suspect is escorted back to his motel room to gather his belongings, but once there, he sits down and begins pushing back instead of leaving. Boss man. Officers also observed multiple alcoholic beverages near the suspect's belongings, raising concerns about his condition, and resulting in his vehicle being left at the motel. I'm shot. I'm shot. After the struggle, the suspect took the officer's firearm and threw it into a nearby storm drain, leaving the officer wounded on the ground. He was later charged with attempted felony murder and resisting an officer with violence. The case remains ongoing, with court proceedings scheduled to continue in May of 2026.
