On August 24th, 2024, officers with the Republic Police Department attempted to stop 19-year-old after spotting him speeding through Republic, Missouri. Instead of pulling over, Henderson accelerated through city streets at speeds reportedly exceeding 100 miles per hour. What began as a traffic stop quickly took another turn after officers identified the driver as the man charged in a recent string of purse thefts involving elderly women in Springfield. It's a black passenger car. It's a BMW i8. Almost to 60. It's got a brake light out and a headlight out. We got him on 69. Stop! The car! PUT YOUR HANDS UP! We got him on 69. I'll shoot you! Secure jump. Open the DOOR WITH YOUR RIGHT HAND! >> ROBERT, the black Sonata. STEP OUT! CAN I PUT IT IN PARK? PUT IT IN PARK. One hand. Put it in park with one hand. Face that way. Yeah, that didn't go the way you thought it was. >> You have fun your back. Did he call the wreck down there? I think so. 1707, we have one detained. If we can have somebody check the roundabout, looks like he might have caused an accident there. Any available unit, can you check the roundabout? That was so stupid. Yeah, very. Absolutely. Glad you finally decided to stop and I didn't have to shoot and kill you. All right, let's sit him up. Anything on you? No. How old are you? 19. Now you're under arrest. For big boy charges. Yeah. Probably over something so stupid, too. I'm sorry. 10-4, 10-30. Will I be able to see my son tonight? I doubt it. Anything that I missed on you? No. Um Get your car behind him and I'm going to move mine. It's tight fit, so take your time getting in. Can I get a release? Surprised he stopped and didn't try to hit me. Well, I don't know how he made it. That has to be from him. Absolutely has to be from him. From him. Did he know you were trying to stop him? Oh, is Julian Oh. Who's that? Uh, the first snatcher out of Springfield. Oh, yeah. I couldn't have worked out any better. >> Yeah. I tapped my brake when he passed me and he just took off past several cars. >> I don't know if he's mobbing through there. Slid around the intersection. I didn't shoot him. I pulled right in front of him and I'm like, "You try to hit >> me and you're done." Yep. >> Is >> It's the dude that was robbing all them old ladies in Springfield of their purses. And the first thing he said was, "I'm never going to see my kid again." Well. What's that What's that thing they say? What? Around find Out find out? Find out? That what it is? I think so. >> Wow, that's crazy. I'll start the talk. Who ran out of the national white? Being an idiot? Yeah. Did you already get the plate in the car or no? I read it. You have the right to remain silent. Anything Anything you say can and will will be used against you in the court of law. You can decide anytime to exercise these rights and not answer any of my questions. Do you understand your rights? Do you? Yes. Okay. What are we running for tonight? I'm out on bond and I didn't want to get pulled over. I thought I could get away. What were you you're worried about a tail light? No, but I just didn't want to get pulled over. I don't know. So, what are you running from? What are you running for? What are you assuming that I'm going to pull you over for? I don't know. You could have killed somebody going that fast down this road, dude. >> I know. I'm stupid. I just thought for some reason I thought my car was faster and I thought I was going to get away, but so stupid. >> You literally just got in a bunch of trouble in Springfield and we're finally like supposedly getting better and calming down and now we go to this? Over a tail light? That's crazy. Will I be able to make a phone call? Not for a while. >> Okay. Over a tail light? Yeah. He said he thought his car was a lot faster and he'd be able to get away. Really? Maybe. I was at 174 and he's like, "Yeah, he's running." I'm like, "Shut up." Then I got I get here and he's heading right at me head-on head-on. I'm like, "Uh-oh." Let's go hard. Well, I flipped the the rear radar because it looked like he sped up. And I was like 35, 36, 37 and I did a U-turn and he's just going like this. I'm confused though. There's a car in front of them. Oh. Oh. I pulled up against his door. Oh, I'm like you just sandwiched some dude. Like, how cool is that? No, I was heading on him head-on. I just hopped out. >> Right after I saw that Ford on the highway going 50 with the bike, dude. They're like sandwiching. I don't know how he made it through that roundabout. He was going so fast down Hinds, dude. Like, I could see him while I was I could see him coming down Hinds. I'm like, "Holy crap, he is flying." He should be on paper, right? >> He said he had I don't know both of He said he had a driver's license. And it's going to be a verbal. Woo. Good timing. Yeah, really good timing. I was really like, "Oh, I don't want this rubber yet." Please don't hit me. Please don't hit me. Please don't hit me. I turned my call down so I could use the radio and he when you said, "I'm I'm going to point my gun at you." You could hear it come over mine. I'm like, When I look at his face, it looked like he wasn't sure what his next decision was. That's why I'm like, "You even try to come at me." And then once I said that, he was like, "Okay." He was thinking about it. I got to call him back and I'm going to roll it backwards. Here at 100 mph, this is not allowed. Why are your pants undone? I was going to piss. So, after you've been good all this time, why did you decide to run from him? I thought I was going to get away. I didn't want to have to get pulled over. And I was trying to be quick, get any way to get home because I got a curfew and you got to be there at 9:00 and it's no excuse, but I just Well, I'm glad you decided to stop when I was in front of you. I'm glad you made that good decision. The only good decision you made tonight. I'm glad you did that. I was dumb. I need help. What's your problem? Like, why do you think you need help? I don't know. Are you on drugs? No, I don't do drugs, man. It's just mental health. Well, I mean, but what is it that want to keep doing these dumb things you're doing? In all honesty, like you've already been in jail for the robberies or whatever else. Why Why are we keep doing I've stopped you on your motorcycle since then and it we had no problems. You might have got a ticket or two, but other than that, who cares? It's just a ticket. Tail light, it's a ticket. Instead, you fly through one of the busiest intersections in the city, a roundabout, and get Lord knows how you made it through that roundabout, and you caused an accident down there. You're going to get somebody killed acting a fool like this. Or yourself. What's it going to take, man? You got kids now. It's not about you no more. It's about your kiddos. It's not about you. It's all about them. And you're not doing anything good for them. I guess this is what it takes to You have You've already done this though, and it hadn't taken that yet. That's what I'm trying to ask you. What is it going to take? I'm pretty sure your kiddos don't want to bury their dad at 19 years old. That doesn't make any sense. So, thank you. You want your kids to grow up without a father? I hope not. You shouldn't. The stuff you're doing, man, it's just not making any sense. You got to make better decisions. I know. You want to tell her that you're in jail for 24 hours? Please. How do you know it's 24 hours? >> Because it's a minimum of 24 hours. Minimum, that's the truth. Oh, uh 159870 Watching porn. That makes sense why your pants are down. Why are your pants undone? I had to take a piss. That one? Yes. Hello. Hello. Um, I got to tell you something. What? I'm going back to jail cuz I ran from the cops for having a tail light out and I'm >> Really? Yes. I'm so sorry. I'm so stupid. What do you What do we I'm sorry. For how long? I don't know. I'll call you once I get inside, but I feel so bad leaving you stuck with Grayson and him not being able to see me. I'm so stupid for doing this. For how long? I don't know. I really don't. Probably at least a month. My guess, probably a little longer. Minimum of 24 hours. At least 24 hours, so I won't be out for 2 days at least, the minimum. Probably a little longer than that. >> day. I love you. I'm so stupid and I'm sorry. >> Where's the car at? Probably getting impounded. >> Impounded? What am I supposed to do without a car? How am I supposed to get to work? I don't know. Talk to Devon. Hopefully they'll help you. No. My dad or mom or somebody will help us get it out. It'll >> Are you about to call your mom and dad? I got to go into jail. I'm sorry. Stupid. >> Pull your pants up. I love you. Answer my phone when I call you. Put it on the front. Anything else before we go in? Okay. Is this going to shoot in every now and then? Yes.
