There you go. >> What' you do for New Year's Eve? >> Nothing. >> Nothing. >> Yeah. >> Okay, Mr. Bailey. >> Yes, sir. >> So, >> here's what I'm going to ask you, and I I need you to be to try to be straight with me here. Have you ever used anything like um or or anything like that? >> It's uh like a ingredient in like a cold medicine like coredant. If you take enough of it, it starts to act like and to a greater extent if you have a lot of it, it starts to act like and that sort of thing. Okay. All right. Okay. So, you get didn't use any of that stuff. >> Okay. Okay. So, here's what's going to happen. Um, I'm going to be placing you under arrest. Okay. Placing you under arrest or DUI. Okay. Right. >> Yes, sir. >> What did I do? >> You're operating the vehicle while under the influence and what I believe is a drug to the extent that you're a less safe driver at this moment, sir. Okay. So, we're going to go find your phone real quick at your car and get a number or two out of there. >> Grab the phone. >> What did I do? >> Well, I mean, you were stopped in the middle of one of our busiest intersections in the city just sitting there. So, now I'm going to read you something called Georgia implied consent. There is a question at the end. It's a yes no question, but it doesn't matter to me if you say yes. It doesn't matter to me if you say no. I just need something I can understand as an answer. Okay. I don't like I don't I don't know what I did wrong. >> Well, I believe you shouldn't have been driving and you were and that's that that's why we're at this point where you're in cuffs and why I'm reading the question about whether or not you'll take my blood test. >> Okay. >> So, will you submit to the state administered chemical test of your blood? No. >> Okay. So, we we cannot bring your phone with us, but we can get some numbers out of it. Would you like to get some phone numbers out of your phone? >> Yeah. >> Okay, we can do that. All right, let me get you to walk back here. Please watch step. >> All right, go ahead and have the call for me. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can't be used against you in a court of law. For the DR evaluation, what we would do is we we would drive from here to the John's Creek PD, like our little substation on the south end of town. Um, but it would involve some things like the eye check like we did out here. >> She want to go home right now. >> I understand. >> But that's not really gonna happen right now. So that's that's why we're on to the next thing. You >> want to see my mother? >> Yeah. Tell you what, regardless of of of how you answer me, we'll we'll try and give her a call before we leave here. Okay. So that way she knows where you are. Okay. >> Okay. So, what what's your answer on on the uh DR eval? Yes or no? >> Will he take shackles off off of me? >> When we get down there, I'm going to have to take the cuffs off you for at least a portion of it. Yes, sir. But for the car ride, no, sir. I'm not allowed to. >> Okay. Don't want to go this way, please. >> Okay. Understand you you are under arrest. That that's that's a done deal. >> Done deal. >> Okay. So, let's let's move on past that. Okay. So, I'm going to ask you one more time. Yes or no about the the DR eval? >> Can Can you move my handcuffs in front of me? >> No, sir. I can't. >> Please. >> No, sir. >> I'm not a threat. I'm not Man, I'm not a threat to you. >> I understand that. But, right, but that's what I'm supposed to do is have you cuffed in the back right now. Okay. Are there any other numbers besides your mom's number that you need? >> Can you call her? >> I'll call her in just a minute. Do you need any other phone numbers out of here? >> Um, it's just my mom. >> Just your mom. Okay. >> What county are we in? >> We're in Fulton County. >> Yeah. Just just before you get to uh for Scythe County. >> Can I call her real quick? >> We're going to call her and put her on speaker phone right here cuz maybe she'll answer if she sees your phone number calling. No, he he's just not answering me on it, I think. >> Hi, thank you for calling today. This is Robin Hott. >> You try Sean? >> Can we try Sean and send him or mom first? >> Try Sean. That's my stepdad. >> Hello. Tiana the mom. >> Hey, Mom. >> Hey. >> Hey. Hey, ma'am. This is uh Corporal Null with John's Creek Police Department. Sorry to wake you up this morning. >> Um >> Okay. >> But uh Mr. Bailey asked that I give you a call just to let you know where where he's going. Okay. Um he he's under arrest at the moment. He's coming with me to the Fulton County Jail. >> Um Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Can you tell me can you can you tell me why? >> Do you mind if I tell her why? >> Okay. Can he? So he he was um sitting in the middle of a intersection, a pretty busy intersection in his car just blocking traffic and we got out with him and uh I did a few checks on him and based on my training he he's under the influence of something other than alcohol at the moment. So he's coming with me. What do I do now? >> And his car the car is in my name. The the car is >> the the car is sitting at the intersection of Abbottz Bridge and Medlock Bridge Road in the Bank of America parking lot. >> We we we parked it and lock it. >> Okay. Um wait, where can you give me Can you Can I get the address? >> Um yeah, >> hold on. Let me >> Let me get one of my officers to look up the address for you. >> Okay. All right. Tell him I love him. Thank you for calling. >> Hey, mama. It was not this for this reason. >> Hey, Mom. >> Oh, hey. >> Hey. >> Why did you leave? >> Um, I just it was stupid. Um, I'm regretting it completely, you know. Nothing I can say here. Okay, man. We're going to head out so we can get him into the jail faster and out of the handcuffs faster. Okay. >> According to official reports and court documents, the driver identified in the video as Christopher Bailey was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to exercise due care.
