um uh what I decided to do I got my little boy in Oklahoma he's a he's a marine biologist we' been feeding them shrimp and he says we're going to take him over to the um across the street there's a place um the studies Turtles over there the resour research center yes sir yeah yeah over there and want to see it on video that's okay but if I throw them in the ocean like this it's just going to get picked off by the birds I understand I understand that sir but what what I um are you able to come home cuz I need to speak to you in person well I'm at I'm at work now I get off at 5 okay but um well I I it's kind of um it's kind of important because so listen if you if you want to confiscate him you can or you can let me take them over to the research center no okay if you think it's it's best just to bury them or or you know it's in the surf okay so here here here's the deal so but he's in the garage yeah I understand that uh so basically what you're saying is is that you found him on your property yes he's he's he was in the garage marooned and and SK scurrying around so we picked him up and Dro him in the tank okay um so if I take them if I take him and go put him in the in the ocean or you know with the rest of them probably what should have been just throw back out in in the water with the rest of of of the hatchments I guess yes sir but um but we'll cooperate and do whatever you need okay okay so the the problem that we have is is that you are in possession of the turtle um well listen we we live right there on the beach I understand that okay I understand he crawled off the beach into the garage I understand that so it's not my fault he crawled in the garage but it is craw right back out that's fine I understand that but it is technically your fault for being in possession of it does that make sense well Howen it be my fault when he crawled in the garage because you put them in a tank and you're been feeding them and taking care of them instead of either putting them in the ocean or calling the turtle Research Center and having them come that's what want to do bring to the turtle Research Center yes sir yes sir and that's what's gonna happen today um I was okay absolutely okay but um I understand that you're cooperating with me um on this front um so the thing that I'm going to do I just want to let you know that yes sir um the way that I'm going to handle this um have you ever been in trouble have you ever missed a court date or anything like that no okay so um because you're cooperating I want to let you know that I'm gonna I'm going to be up front with you possession of a sea turtle whether or not it was on uh it you found it or not uh is technically in the State of Florida is a felony but we do have a misdemeanor version of it that I am more than willing to um site you for and give you a court date and then you show up at a later date does that make sense yes um because you're not allowed to you're not allowed to be in possession of it no matter what because they are endangered species and they're they're they're endangered and protected that I need yeah that's what we're doing protecting them well technically you can't keep them as pets uh right yeah because you don't have correct that's why we're turning them in yes sir but you're not as of right now you're keeping it as a pet um and so you're in possession of it and so what I'm going to do is I am going to because you're being cooperative I'm going to um I'm must just give you a notice to appear and you show up to court and you can explain it to the judge everything okay and give your side of the story and the judge could see it differently and drop it all together but because you're in possession of it this is the easier option for you that's less uh cumbersome than the felony and go into jail do that make sense yes sir okay so um what I will do is because you're giving me permission I'm going to take the sea turtle over to the recovery center good job I'm gonna I'm gonna document everything trouble but yeah I'm going to document everything it's going to be all on body Cam and all that other stuff um but I just want to let you know that's the the plan of action that I'm going to take because you're not going to be here um and I can meet you and hand you the paperwork um at work if you give me your if you send me your address you can I mean um uh uh just give it to Dustin Dustin will give it to me well I have to have you sign it so um I don't know if maybe I can meet you down the street from your job so they don't see it and I hand and you come and sign it and then we can go about it that way let me give you my phone number you give me a call and and I'll come and I'll come and meet you okay so the phone number if you find them you can either call the re the research center which is right down the street they'll come and take them because they have permits to have them uh or just go take them back to the ocean or you could call us we'll they'll send us out here to come pick them up as well um but you can't just put him in fish tank you know what I mean that's where he it's a knuckleheaded decision that's where went wrong um so I'm going to take the turtle do you have like plastic piece of plastic Tupperware or something that I could use I'm yeah it's a it's a baby turtle it's not um so because he's being cooperative I'm going to change um the route that I could have taken but if he wanted to be uncooperative then we're going to have some more serious issues because just being in possession of a sea turtle in the State of Florida because they are protected is a problem so um yeah uh that's it's pretty much the route I plan on filming uh today so if you do see any more or they show up or anything either H make sure you pass the message on to him I'm going to talk to him be like hey just give us a call it's not going to hurt you leave it where it's at or put it in a tupperware for the time being you know what I mean so it doesn't roam away and then give us a call at least that that way it's documented that you don't want it right and you're trying to get do the right thing okay so I'll pass message big enough yeah definitely that's definitely big yeah job's done now I can't use tracer that means you got to quit for today I know perfect thank you guys so we'll we'll uh yeah for future reference since you live here and they show up either give us a call or call the turtle Research Center which is right down the street all right um that way you're doing what's right by the turtles and make sure that like even if you have lights here if you turn if you get red lights they're less light than over here so they come towards White Lights cuz they think it's the moon all right cuz they can't tell the difference they're babies yeah we definitely uh we got told that before so we turn yeah okay well I mean if the garage lights are on kit light usually on see through here you know right yeah so I mean either or just change that door because this is the only door that's clear yeah so or maybe change the door to something like that got to take all these out and put in some sliders we'll keep the light off yeah yeah well I mean I I don't want to necessarily have you guys living in the dark but definitely make sure that you have something to cover it at night either like one of the accordion blinds that come down just to block the light that would probably work best all right so let's let's get this little guy get some of water perfect awesome okay let me just make sure there's nothing else in there crab there no I'm not I mean it's probably a fiddler crab to be honest with you I mean they're they're cute I would like to keep on to you know so oh especially the green turtles they get up to 70 80 lbs I se one out here huge yeah yeah yeah that's crazy their nest I was looking on piece of paper like up there the little not right here but down by 192 you go in shows their neest it's like a perfect circle straight down how the hell they do that I don't know I have no idea how long do you think he's had it like when did they when did you guys noticed that turtle in there two days about two days you saw this two days ago okay two days ago okay perfect Monday looks in good shape yeah uh he was feeding it shrimp I guess his son's a marine biologist and was kind of telling him how to take care of it he wanted to said he was going to return it or return it to the research center but can't hold on to him so but I appreciate it guys thank you yeah you
