Okay. >> Okay, well, that's another charge. And another one. >> In the car. IN THE CAR. >> ON MAY 25TH, 2025, A routine A routine traffic stop takes a terrifying turn when a 20-year-old expectant mother refuses to let her car get towed, barricading herself inside. She pulls a knife, forcing a violent, chaotic standoff with police. Here is the footage. >> Hey, I'm Officer Riker, Mount Laurel Police. Just pardon me, just got to get you on the body cameras on, okay? Can I take a look at your license, registration, proof of insurance, please? Thank you. >> By the way, we just got this car from the shop. >> Okay. >> Um it's been in the shop for like almost a year. >> It's literally been there for like a year. >> Okay. Thank you. Is this still a good address for you, the Marlton one? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Can I ask why I got pulled over? >> Yeah, so it looks like you're um I Well, you got a couple things going on here. You got the uh stuff hanging from the rearview mirror there, you can't have that. Um he doesn't have his seatbelt on, and then also your uh registration looks like it's suspended possibly. >> Oh. >> So. >> Yeah, probably is cuz it's been in the car for so long. >> Do you have uh your license on you, sir? Thank you. >> Registration probably expired. Expired like what, every year or something? >> So you said the car was in the shop for a year? >> Yeah, basically. It had a So they thought it was a um What did they think it was? A differential? But But turns out it was >> Transfer case. >> Yeah, it turns out it was the transfer case. It took them a while. >> Okay. >> They kept it for a straight year? >> Yeah, and then I'll send >> I've never heard of that one, you know what I mean? That'd be a lot of money in storage. Yeah, I would assume they'd charge you for it sitting there or anything. >> Mhm. >> They put a starter in a back window on for me. >> Yeah, the back glass was broken. >> Okay. Uh do you have insurance for the vehicle, ma'am? >> That's on my phone. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Let me just pull my phone real quick. >> [snorts] [snorts] >> Where you guys coming from this morning? >> The hotel. >> Hotel? In Mt. Laurel or? >> Yeah, the Mt. Laurel Suites. >> Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. How do you like it there? Was it nice or what? >> No, we've stayed at way nicer places. >> Yeah. I got you. You trying to pull it up on an app or something? >> No, I'm calling my grandmother cuz I'm on the other line with her. >> Okay. All right, yeah, if she can send a picture of it something like that as long as it shows that it's for this vehicle during this time, that would be good. I'm going to go do some things in my car real quick, okay? Nope. >> No. >> What up? Well, let's see. Expired reg, expired inspection, no insurance, suspended deal. Uh 1 2 3 4 and we're going to get um >> [sighs] >> display, improper display, and um fail. All right. And let's see. 39 340 So, let's see. Hm. Should I tow this vehicle? Hm. >> Yeah, the three-strikes. >> [snorts] >> I know the sure three-strikes. >> I was always told to do like the three-strike rule where it's like suspended or no DL >> Yeah. >> no insurance, no registration. >> Yeah, I'm going to >> [snorts] >> Yeah, I'm not towing. 36 167 or 168 from 177. Okay to tow this vehicle. Suspended DL, expired reg, no insurance. Hey, I don't think uh if you got one of you guys went over the radio, I couldn't hear your response. >> Yeah, you're you're good for the uh >> 10-4, 10-50. Do you want me to run it? >> Okay. All right, thank you. I appreciate it. All right, later. You have any luck with the insurance? >> No. >> Okay. All right, sir. Here's your ID back, okay? I am issuing you a ticket for not wearing your seat belt, okay? It's $47, and you can pay it at the website by the date down there. If you want to take it to court, it's your right to do so in that top right, okay? >> Okay. >> All right, you have any questions? >> Uh so >> Okay. And then, ma'am, can you step out of the car and just talk to me in the back here? I got some paperwork for you. You're not under arrest or anything like that, but Yeah. Yep. Thank you. >> I'll find my office. It's my bed charger. >> So, listen. So, your your license is suspended. >> What? >> Your license Yeah, your license is suspended for having for failure to have insurance. I'm not sure, but they said failure to have insurance. >> my charger. That's my charger. >> Yeah, so failure to have insurance is the reason why they suspended it, and then they also said persistent violator. So, I guess you have 18 points or something. >> How long is it suspended for? >> I I'm not 100% sure, but it's currently suspended, okay? So, there and the registration on this vehicle has been expired for a year, okay? So, that So, the registration on the vehicle is expired for a year, there's no insurance, and your license is suspended, okay? >> Oh, girl. >> So, for those reasons, I can't let the vehicle be on the road, okay? We have to tow it. >> Tow it? >> Yeah, I have I have to tow it because there's literally nothing on the vehicle, you know what I mean? There's no registration. >> Can can we try to wait and see if she answers? >> So that's So that's why they Well, we've already waited a long time as it is, you know what I mean? Um and you have to be able to show insurance at the time of the stop. Um if you do have insurance on the vehicle, bring proof that the vehicle was insured at the time of the stop to court with you cuz you have you have some tickets here, okay? And the insurance be suspended or mandatory court anyway. So might as well take all the tickets to court with you, honestly. Um this is going to be for the um Sorry, I apologize. What's a good phone number for So just grab Grab whatever you guys need out of the vehicle. Um and then you can arrange for a ride. What's up? I I have to, unfortunately, because there's literally nothing on the vehicle. Like there's nothing to help me out, you know what I mean? There's Like you're supposed to have registration, a license, and insurance, and there's and there's nothing. [music] >> It's eight points to get out. We both have children, man. Can I please >> I I I Unfortunately, I can't because cuz like I said, so the registration's been expired for a year. There's no insurance, and she has [music] a suspended license. And she's the registered owner. So there's I I can't, unfortunately. [music] There's There's nothing on the There's nothing to help me out, you know what I mean? Like if if she had a license and insurance, but the vehicle was just expired registration, wouldn't be a big deal. But without any of the three things that are needed, my hands are kind of tied, you know what I mean? >> They're still in the car. >> They're They're just getting their stuff out of the vehicle, whatever they need, and then that's it. Hey, man. You're good. Yep. Yeah, just whatever you need to get out of the car, just do that. Um cuz he's got to He's got to get to move on with his job, you know what I mean? >> I don't even know what it's really >> And just [snorts] the tow truck driver's just going to need your vehicle key, but you can take all the other keys off there and and keep them for yourself. Thanks. I appreciate you coming out. >> Yeah, no problem. >> Um So, this is going to be for you. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Chauffeur's arrived. Hey, man. Can I just explain these tickets to you too here? >> Yeah. >> So, here's your here's your stuff back. You can keep these documents, okay? So, listen. Um like I said, some of these are uh mandatory court date, okay? So, the court date's going to be the same for all of them. It's June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. If you need to reschedule, the court's address and phone number's up there, okay? Um just make sure you don't miss the court date or else, you know how that could they'll issue a warrant and all that stuff. Just make sure if you need to reschedule, you call them ahead of time, okay? Um So, there's one for the the no insurance, okay? There's one for the uh reg being expired for a year. Um one for your suspended license, okay? Um And then we got So, there's no front license plate on the vehicle and then this stuff hanging down from the rearview here and the inspection is no good as well, okay? Cuz that's been expired for a year. Like I said, some of these are payable, some of them are court mandatory. You could If you want to pay the ones that are payable, you can, but like I said, you got to go to court anyway, so probably just take them all to court, honestly. Um but the court date's going to be the same for everything, okay? >> Okay. >> Um do you have any questions for me? Okay. Here, I'm going to leave you with these, okay? Thank you. >> [music] >> Hey guys, so for your vehicle, so they're taking it to Trophy's Towing. It's going to It's in Cherry Hill, okay? >> need to stop at the police station and get the release. >> Yes. Yep. Yeah, once So, once you're able to show that there's registration and insurance on the vehicle, um and that you're the registered owner, just bring your license and show that you have registration and insurance. Also, you know, that's good enough to get the vehicle out. Just bring a licensed driver with you unless you get your license reinstated before then. Um then you could drive it back, but once you're able to show proof of registration and insurance, come down at any time with your ID and then uh the officer will release it to you, okay? >> Okay. Can you write down where my car is at? >> Uh so, he can give you a business card. [music] So, it's if you want to take a picture of the side of his truck or whatever you want to do, his the phone number and address is on there. But, you need to come to the police station first, okay? So, that's That's the uh Mount Laurel Police. >> Can you grab my charger? >> [music] [music] >> You guys are good, right? All good? All right. They're good. They got everything. Uh, the key should be in Did you guys leave the key in there? >> I don't know where it's at. Somewhere in there. >> So, that Yeah, the key for the car. That's all he needs. >> [music] >> You see it in there? You have the Can you help him with the key for the car cuz he just needs to put it on that tow truck. >> I'm [ __ ] looking. I'm over here. I'm [ __ ] looking. >> [music] >> Don't worry about it. He'll He'll put it He'll yank it up on the the bed. Okay. Oh, you got the key? Are you Are you just going to winch it? Okay. All right, I got you. Sorry about that. >> [music] [music] >> Ma'am, what are you doing? >> Waiting for my brother to come. >> Okay. So, he needs to So, he needs to take the vehicle, okay? So, you can't be inside of it. >> my brother comes. [music] >> Okay. >> Y'all want to tow my car so bad, wait till my [ __ ] brother comes. >> Listen. >> Want to have me standing out here >> You got to You got to let him do his job here. You got to let him do his job. You can't sit inside the car. You're Like I said, so right now we're just looking at traffic violations. I know you're upset about your car. We don't want to We don't want to turn it into something where somebody gets arrested for obstruction, okay? Listen, you got to shut the car off. Ma'am, you can't put the Give me the key to the car. She was just cutting herself while we were trying to close out of the car here. >> Okay. >> Uh well, she is now. Now, she's not drunk or anything like that. It's just um she didn't want to we were about to, you know, it was just all title 39 stuff. And then she decided to Yeah, she locked herself in the car.
