Each of these reflects the severity of the situation and the danger the victim was placed in. Now, let's move on to another heartbreaking case. this time involving a six-month-old baby who vanished right in front of her mother's eyes. On May 15th, 2023, a tense evening unfolded in Fort Worth, Texas, when a mother made a horrifying call. Someone had jumped into her car and sped off with her six-month-old baby still inside. The police jumped into action immediately. Officers from multiple units, including narcotics and gang teams, joined the search. Just over an hour later, they caught the suspect on Dean Street. But the baby was nowhere to be found. Acting fast, officers questioned the suspect and spread out to search the area. Within minutes, they found the baby and car seat abandoned in a nearby ravine. >> Got it. Got it. Hey, hey, hey. >> Hey, we have the baby at 36. >> Oh, okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. >> Thankfully, the child was okay and soon reunited with a parent. The suspect is now facing multiple serious charges, including kidnapping, abandoning, or endangering a child, and autotheft. Each charge reflects the danger and recklessness of the suspect's actions, especially putting a helpless infant's life at risk. Okay, hold on tight. If you think things got intense here, get ready to meet Tracy. She's a whole new level of woman, tougher to handle. On April 27th, 2018 in Houston, Texas, police responded to a bizarre and troubling situation. A man had been held hostage inside his own home by a woman later identified as Tracy Heslip. She and her husband had been staying at the victim's place, but things took a dark turn when she refused to let him leave. even taking his car and stopping him from speaking to anyone. When officers arrived, she wouldn't let the man come to the door, so he had to talk to them from the balcony. Realizing how serious things were, officers quickly acted. They made their way in through the balcony and safely got the man out. Tracy was arrested at the scene, bringing an end to a truly disturbing ordeal. >> What happened, ma'am? Tracy, [Music] >> hey, I hear y'all, so I mean, might as well just open up. >> Ma'am. >> Ma'am. >> Ma'am, this is going to this all on camera. So, open the door. >> They trying to get in. >> Ma'am, open the door. I hear you already. You're You're out here. All right, let me talk to both of y'all. >> Look, >> look. Hey, right now it's not an issue. You want to start an issue, there's going to be an issue, right? >> Ma'am, >> hey, can y'all talk to me on balcony? 14. >> Come out to the balcony, man. >> This is all going on camera, ma'am. So, what are you doing? It's not helping you. She got some problems or something. >> What's going on with her? >> She took my car early. I was sleep. I woke up. My keys were fine. Okay. >> Her husband there, he said he didn't see her leave and he didn't hear a car start. So, we waited and waited. She finally brought it back. >> Are y'all roommates? She's staying. They're not on. I just have kind of helped them out. But >> well, they're staying there. I can't necessarily kick them all out, though. >> She's not on They're not >> I know. But they they've been staying, so they they establish that residency. You know, you understand like when you you invite people over to stay, they stay there. How how long they've been staying? >> Not that long. >> Yes. See, even with that, I mean, they establish residency. So, you you have to go through an eviction unless they committed a crime itself. >> Took my car. Well, right now, how how can we prove it, right? >> I'm sorry. It's kind of weird how it works like that. Um, >> see how she keep me see I can't see I mean that's she she won't even let me open the door, sir. That means that's this my own apartment. She's not on the lease or nothing. So, if they're not on the lease, they shouldn't she shouldn't have no kind of rights like that. >> No, but it it's it's made to like it's made to like not once they establish that residency. They didn't understand arrest. >> No, but they stayed there a month. That's that's quite some time. Um, she's like this all the time or >> Yeah, man. She's loud. I can't I got to be to work at 9:30. I'm not going to be able to probably go to work. I needed my clothes in the car to wash. She had ran off with the car and I couldn't wash and stuff, do stuff. I need to go to work. >> How did she get your car keys? >> I was sleeping. She took them off my bed. >> You want to sit there and tell a story? >> She just like, >> "Hey, ma'am." >> Hey, ma'am. Listen. Can you open the door so I can talk to you? I just want to talk. >> No, >> I I just want to talk. >> No, no, you don't. >> Yes, I do. >> No, you don't. >> You can talk to me. >> Well, just seeing this, one thing is clear. She's going to give a tough time to the officers. She has such a rebellious attitude. And the man who's suffering can't even prove how she took his car. Fortunately enough, everything is being recorded on the camera from the start. >> Tracy, can you open the door for us? Sir. >> Yeah. >> Y'all go over the balcony. I got the door open. >> All right. >> Open the door. They coming in one way or another. Open the door. >> You open the door, Tracy. >> What? However, both charges were eventually dismissed by the DA. Up next is another case, this time involving a 9-year-old boy who disappeared without a trace. On the morning of April 4th, 2022, chaos broke out in Atlanta when a man jumped into a running car parked outside a Goodwill, completely unaware that a 9-year-old child was sitting in the back seat. Next in line is the kidnapping that happened in Florida on February 16th, 2021 in Hillsboro County, Florida. A terrifying situation unfolded when a one-year-old girl named Tinley Sage West was taken during a car theft. She had been sleeping in her family's SUV when her mother stepped out for a moment to carry items inside. In that short time, someone jumped into the vehicle and drove off with the baby still inside. On May 16th, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland, a dramatic rescue unfolded as officers saved a woman held hostage by her fiance. Police had responded to a 911 call from a child, reporting that his father was trying to stab his mother with a knife. When officers arrived, they found Timothy Fleming holding his fiance, Shannon Burnham, at knife point, completely ignoring commands to let her go. As tensions escalated and Fleming leaned in toward the victim, officers were forced to act immediately to prevent a tragedy. >> He did this yesterday. He has a knife yesterday. He yesterday he cut her he cut her hand and he has a knife on her knee. Now, >> officers Gaston Melendez and Zimmerman along with their team did everything they could to defuse the situation. But when Fleming refused to back down, they were left with no choice but to open fire. But things quickly took a turn when one of the officers asked Fleming to drop the knife and talk. He refused without hesitation, responding with a firm no. Look, just talk to us, right? >> Come on, man. What's going on? >> Come on. They like the boys downstairs, please. >> They're like, "No, they're my kids." >> Ouch. >> Hey, don't don't don't do that. Meanwhile, a trainee officer rendered aid to Fleming after he was shot. Medics arrived shortly after and pronounced him dead at the scene. And just like that, there's another case where one person's actions put multiple lives at risk. On August 7th, 2020 in Casper, Wyoming, a tense standoff unfolded after police responded to reports of a woman being held at gunpoint inside an apartment. Body cam footage shows officers surrounding the building, weapons drawn, as they attempt to deescalate the situation. calling out, "We want to make sure you're safe." They urge the occupants to come out peacefully. But when no one responds, it becomes clear they may have to breach the apartment to protect the hostage. >> Yeah. All right. Not sure you want. >> All right. Is everybody ready? >> Um, yeah. After some time, police made the decision to breach the door and take action. With rifles drawn, they entered the apartment and found several individuals on a couch with their hands raised in surrender. The suspect, 45year-old Robert Land, then exchanged gunfire with officers, resulting in his death. Fortunately, no officers were injured, though the hostage sustained minor injuries from bullet fragments during the shootout. It was all captured on camera. >> All right, Glow, they're up. Body cam footage captured a dramatic moment as a SWAT team rescued a 5-year-old boy from his non-custodial father. The incident took place at a home on the 900 block of Barber Avenue, where 31-year-old Shaun C. Eckle had arranged to meet the boy and his mother. What seemed like a routine visit quickly turned violent. Eckle attacked the boy's mother and fled with the child. But in the end, he couldn't outrun the long arm of the law. >> He came out the He came out laundry building with the door when the windows open. He came out that >> He could have came out there. Fortunately, before police arrived, he released the boy unharmed, allowing him to reunite with his mother. Despite continued efforts to persuade him to surrender, officers eventually deployed chemical irritants and entered the home. Eckle was found hiding under a pile of clothes and was promptly taken into custody. >> Step down, man. Watch your step. >> All right. Watch out, man. What's up? Your rib cracking. Come on.
