Hold fire. Backyards are typically places for relaxation and enjoyment, but sometimes they hide unimaginable horrors. In these six cases, police officers uncovered dark secrets lurking right behind the walls of homes, exposing terrifying crimes to the world. On April [snorts] 20th, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas, police officers were called to the 400 block of Clutter Avenue after receiving a report about a shooting in a backyard shed. The caller indicated that 35-year-old Brian Delian had shot a man. The body cam footage revealed moments when officers arrived at the scene and confronted Delion, who was still armed and hiding behind a truck. The officer's commands and attempts to deescalate the situation were met with tension as Delion refused to comply, leading to a standoff that ended with an intense exchange of gunfire. Brian Delion was pronounced dead at the scene and the body of 49year-old Bobby Bargo, the victim, was discovered inside the shed. If you thought the case in Texas was intense, what happened next in Georgia took things to another level. On March 30th, 2022 in Athens, Georgia, police responded to a call about a man who had just shot a dog in his yard. When officers arrived, they found the suspect outside and noticed a small bite mark on his ankle. The man explained that he had been bitten by one of the dogs while feeding them. And in response, he grabbed a gun and shot the dog along with two other dogs. >> How you doing, sir? >> How you doing? >> Do you know uh Mr. >> Do I know him? >> Yeah, this is Okay. Uh where's he at in the house right now? >> Where is he at? >> Yeah, he's he was right here. >> Yes, I do. Hold on. I I don't live here. So >> I understand >> home health. >> I'll be right back. He's coming. >> Okay. >> Check the back. There's other dogs back out there. So check their welfare and see if there's any dogs. >> Just look through the fence. >> Hey, M. Clark County Police. How you doing, man? >> Oh, not too well. >> Okay. Can you tell me what's going on? >> I got bit by dog back there. in the backyard. >> Okay. Is it your dog? >> It's not really my dog. It's my grand nephew's dog. >> Okay. Does the dog live here? >> Well, he just brought it here yesterday. >> Okay. Did you shoot it? Hey, puppies. Okay, puppy. >> You okay? It's okay. >> I shot it. Yeah, I think I shot that back there in the backyard. That bit me, man. >> Oh, it bit you. >> Yeah, look. >> You want your mess to come back at you? >> No, I've got some stuff. I'll take care of it. Do >> you have Where is your gun at? It's in the car >> in the in the Impala. >> No, in the yard. >> Okay, we don't need to see it right now. Well, do you want to take a seat scan? We're trying to figure out cuz the neighbor called >> that thing up there always call and messing with folks. >> Okay. >> We ain't never had that problem around here until they moved up there. >> It's okay, baby. You okay? You okay, baby? It's okay. You okay, baby? So, it's your nephew's dog. Do you have the other dogs back out there? >> Yes, sir. I do. >> Do you mind if we go back and take a look at the dogs just through the backyard? >> You uh You better go around the fence cuz like I said, one of them bit me and I don't know what them other ones will try. >> I got you. >> The other ones hadn't tried me. >> I want to go in the fence. I just want to look through. >> Oh, yeah. You go around. >> So, how many dogs do you have back there now? >> Right. Yeah. Well, there was five. >> Five. >> I got a black little female. and my grand nephew has got uh four other dogs that were back there. Excuse me. >> Okay. >> As the officers arrived at the scene, they talked to the suspect who said he was bitten by his grandne nephew's dog and had to shoot it. They asked to check the backyard for other dogs, carefully looking through the fence to make sure everything was okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah, I'm going to clean it up and put some stuff on it. You bit me. I mean, I'm protecting me. >> 49 central. He's advising. He got bit by the dog >> and shot. >> Careful. >> 49. The left front leg has some kind has a I guess the bullet hole in its leg is bleeding. Did you locate it? >> Yeah, it's a probably about a 30 lb. Maybe a pet bull mix. It's white and tan. >> Coincidentally hit one of the other dogs, I think. I hate that. That was a good little dog. >> 74. He thinks he might have accidentally hit. >> Another dog. So that may be it. >> Yeah, this one's He's got damage on the back side of his leg, too. He's crying. >> That's a white looking pit bull with brown spots on the one that bit me. And she tall. >> There the puppies are in here. >> The white one with brown spots is the one that bit them. The puppy's around. There's another one in here, but he's he may have blood on him, too. It's covered in blood inside. >> Hey, puppy. [crying] >> You see the front where in you see looks like on the back of the leg where it's penetrated out. It may be forcing dogs like this. I've been around dogs all my life. >> We'll take care of you, buddy. We'll take care, buddy. It's okay. >> He's here, too. >> What are you doing? >> There's two puppies. He's injured, too. >> Where? >> He's injured. Yeah, he's got blood all over him, but I don't know if it come from It can't come from that one. It had to be that one. >> Yeah, there's blood on that towel right there. >> 361, you go ahead and perform a pat down on him. Make sure he's got no other weapons. >> Mr. I'm going to pat you down for any weapons. Okay. >> I have a knife in my pocket. Where >> at? You don't have to reach for it. Just tell me where it's at. I just it >> on the inside of that. No, you leave blood on it. >> Handle control out. >> I can't tell if there's one inside there. >> 10. >> Got a wallet. >> Something in there. It's not a knife. >> All right. >> There's nothing on him. He's 104. animal controls on scene. Yeah, he's up front. He's The guy told us that the gun is put up in a car in the truck. Yeah. He apparently he's got complaints and been cited before for discharge of firearms. >> I'm a caregiver for my sister and brother. I have to be here with them. >> I understand that. >> Okay. >> Hey, they're around back looking for the dogs. His gun is in >> I got him. >> Okay. >> Good. His gun is in the car still. You said which car is it in? It's in this uh >> Chevy. >> They're around back. >> The suspect claimed he shot the dog in self-defense after being bitten. However, officers continued searching the area for any injured dogs, but an air of tension remained, leaving them to question if there was more to the story than he let on. >> Never seen them before. >> Is your son here? Is anybody else here? >> Yeah, my brother and my sister. >> Okay. I take care of them. I'm going take care of you. >> Right. Well, I remember your son was here last time I came out here. >> It was her s grandson once. That's who dogs are grand. >> Okay. He not live here anymore. >> No, he just they in the process of moving. >> So, he brought the dogs down here for me to keep them a while. >> Okay. How long you been keeping? >> I just had them yesterday. Yesterday. >> All of them? All three? >> All the other other four? Oh, there's four. Cuz I saw two black ones and then the white uh I guess pit mix. >> Bully pit big thick. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, he's okay. And the other one's okay. >> Uhhuh. >> But it's a tall skinny white one out there. >> I saw two skinny black ones and then the pit mix or the uh bullet pit. And the bullet pit has a leg one. >> That's what animal control is checking out. So what happened? I mean, >> I was right. >> It's okay, buddy. >> Yeah, he apparently been It's okay, buddy. >> Fire on. >> Hey, buddy. Yeah, it's okay. This one's This one's not crying or anything. He may be in bad shape. >> I think >> I think it's more of uh he got bit as he's shooting a dog. Cuz how many dogs are injured here? >> Well, this one was like this other black one's like this one. I mean, he comes to you when you get near the other dog. So, the other dog could have been over there in the area of it. I can't tell. Now, there's a rag right there, but I I can't see inside the house if there's another dog in it. I don't think it is. I think the house belongs to the the white and tan dog. Believe he shot him, though. Just wasn't even going to call. >> Apparently, there's another dog that ran. >> Uh, that may be his dog then. The other one was inside the brown house. Did he call himself? >> No. A neighbor called. >> So, what happened? I mean, I was out there. I was starting. I took this first dog over here some water. The red one. >> Okay. >> The big red one over there. I took her some water and food. >> Is that one inside? >> It was outside back there in the fence. >> Okay. >> And then I I took the little black one. Mine's some food. >> And I was getting water bucket for the other one. And as I was walking away, that other thing ran over there and bit me in the back of my leg. >> And which one was that? She's a taller skinny white and brown like kind of like the bully pit but she tall and more like a pit. >> I didn't see one like that. >> She might be done got away or she may be hiding out there. >> Okay. >> Since the shadow >> said you already have the the pistol on you. >> No, I went and got it. >> Oh, okay. >> I mean the dog bit me, >> right? >> What was that? >> Nothing. >> Uh let me go up that way. You good? >> Yeah, we good. >> Some head that way. >> I'm sorry about this, but only thing I know to do when the dog bust took more care, but I was shaking. >> Well, the officer pressed on with the investigation as the suspect explained how he had been bitten by a dog and claimed he shot it in self-defense. But as they listened, the officers knew their job was to uncover the truth, not just take his word for it. >> What happened? Like why he shot the dog? >> We're trying to figure out he's claiming he got bit by another dog. A citizen called this in initially. He never called it. Um saying that he saw a dog that got shot that running through the woods. Heard some other uh gunshots from here. He's got a small injury on his ankle, but this dog right here has been shot. There's a dog in this blue thing. Don't know if he's been injured or not, but he's got blood on him. >> Um, >> there's blood. Well, he's got blood on his part of his mouth, but it's also covered in blood. He's he he's hardly moving, so he could have more. And there's blood all on the inside on the bottom of the uh tote right there. But there may be another dog somewhere running around that's been shot. >> Okay. But he said he hasn't said that he's the one that shot them. He Yeah, he said that he's the one that shot. >> Oh, he Yeah. Yeah. >> He shot his own dog. He said he the other dog that ran away is supposedly his nephew's dog >> that's been here for some time but that known of him. >> So the brief interview that I got from him. >> Gotcha. So the other one's ran off and then that one right there. >> And then there's one in the blue. >> We know that one is this one I think is hurt as well because he's just laying there. He's not moving or he's obviously awake but you can see the left front before he turned. You can see where it bullet penetrated and it looks like it's trying it tried to come out the back where it did come out the back. >> And see, yeah, there's blood all over in there. That's a lot more blood than him just getting hurt. >> Gotcha. So, >> there's also a bloody rag there, but I can't see if there's any dog in there. That may be where the other dog goes to. >> Gotcha. Okay, cool. Um, I guess I'm going to go talk to units out at Gretchen Lane. We're getting a call from the advising a brown and white pit bull that's been shot three times. >> Did you hear that? Athena Drive. >> Yeah, Athena Drive. There's another The dog was found there. Been shot three times. >> What was that? >> I'm going to go to that. >> Yeah, I guess. So, he had told me that there was another dog that he had shot. >> That's the one. >> Yeah, that's the one. But that one, I guess he didn't know he shot that one, but admitted to going inside, getting the gun, and shooting that one. He didn't know he shot that one. For what purposes? Cuz it bit him. >> Yes. >> Slightly bit him. >> Yes. And he had time to retreat back into the house and came back out. >> Came back out with a gun. >> Yes. And shot. >> Where was the dog >> when he shot it? >> In the back. >> How did he get out? He jumped the fence or what? >> There's that hole right there. Probably. I mean, probably scared and jumped out. >> I don't know. I'm going go check on that other one. >> There's been calls at this house many, many times at night. >> Yeah. >> Usually DUI or something else. >> Mhm. There's history of him discharging firearm in his property too close to the other house. >> I never seen the dog was fighting. She trying to break. He just shot him because he got bit. >> That's what he just shot him because he got he got bit. If you seen the injury, it's like flesh wound. >> Yeah. >> He got back inside, grabbed the gun and just went out. >> It's not his dog. >> Nephew ran off as the one that got shot. Meanwhile, the officers were trying to make sense of the situation, piecing together what really happened. As they search for more clues, they start to uncover a troubling history behind the property. >> And he shot his own dog and possibly that >> the third one. I don't think it's it would be Jesse own. Hey sir, how you doing? So you were by a dog. >> Yeah. Down there. >> Okay. Uh so what is your name? Y'all got leash like they sucked it. >> They did. >> Y'all hurt dog. >> That's the one that said that it bit him. So, I don't know how friendly it is. Come here. >> He's claiming he's friendly. You see him? >> Yeah. Um, >> okay. Hold on. I got Let me get some treats. I have some in my car. You want to get them? >> Yeah. Where they at? >> Okay. Well, we'll try to get him with the Come here. Excuse me, sir. >> Can we go inside your vehicle? Get that gun. >> Why do you need to get my gun? >> We're going to run a steer number on it. All right. You give that to my sergeant. >> It's in the center console. >> You don't mind if we grab it? >> You can grab it. I mean, it's a 380. >> Pretty dog. Hey, it's okay. >> Hey. Hey, come here. >> Come here. >> 380 Calvin. >> 380. >> I can't unload this. >> Come here. Come here. Hey, come here. Hey, come here. Come here. I ain't taking this thing like a f got shot in the back and still running. Come here. >> Clear. >> This round won't eject. Let me try to see if I can pry it out. You got to probably because this is a 380 round. He's got it in 9 mm. >> No, this is a 380 round. I'm just going to put on safe. >> No record on that 102. >> I think he gets two counts of uh animal cruelty going inside. If they're not trying to actually attack you, you can >> I'm going to secure this in my car. >> Hey, pup. Hey, it's okay. Hey, it's okay. Hey, >> it's okay. >> Hey, come here. We'll get you some medical attention. Come over here. >> Probably a lot of cats be out here too. Got a whole bunch of tests on. >> You can come through here for the black one I hit by accident, too. And them other two. I'm sorry, man. But the dog kept running around and I was bleeding and hysterical at the time. That's a good one there. He's all right. He's usually not vicious. I don't know why the other thing turned like she did. >> The injured dog that ran off wandered into a nearby place while workers found it and quickly called 911. Meanwhile, officers secured the gun and worked to help the injured dog. All the while trying to make sense of what happened. >> Where's the other one at? Does that one hit too? >> Yeah. Scary. >> Yeah. >> I got it. >> Get this thing. Take it. >> Come on, sweetie. Hi. >> Hey. It's okay. It's okay. >> It's okay. >> It's okay. >> Come here. Come here. Hey. Come here. Hey. Come here. Hey. Come here. Look. >> It's okay. >> Hey, buddy. >> You're being sweet. >> Yeah. >> It's okay. Good job. >> Oh, man. He likes you. >> There you go. >> Right up, boy. >> I tell you. >> Hey, it's okay. It's okay. Any dog night. I know. I know. No, not >> Hang on. Hang on, baby. Hang on, sweetie. Oh, jeez. I know, sweetie. I know. I know. There we go, baby. There we go. Hi. >> I know. >> Is there a leash on this one? On the inside? Looks like >> this is This is like flipped over. He came in there. >> Jeez. Let me get this other dog to one. I'll come back. >> Hey, it's okay. >> It's okay. >> It's okay. >> Appreciate you. >> It's okay, P. >> All right, boy. They going to help you out. Come on. He >> attached to you. I'm an animal person. I like >> went through and through. >> It barely missed his Well, he's got hit twice. So, he's >> Yeah, he got hit twice. About to say it's another spot right there. >> There you go. >> Hey, nice. We have the dog on leash if we can get on control over here. He's This pup's putting pressure on it. >> It's going to pull it there for >> There we go. >> It's okay, buddy. >> Come on, sweetie. We're going to take care of you. >> I want to pull you. You didn't let me grab either. >> I wish we could get this this stinking thing apart. >> Course once they get old, they don't. >> The officers carefully tended to the injured dog, working together to secure it for urgent medical care, they ensured the dog was stabilized and ready to be taken to the vet, knowing every second counted in the fight to save its life. >> Dog bit you. The one that ran him off? >> Yeah, the one that ran off. >> And has he been staying in this pen overnight or what? >> Overnight. >> Oh, okay. How how many days have you been here? >> One day. >> One day. Come on, >> baby. That ran him up. >> I know. I know. Come on. Come on. Come on. They're getting the other three dogs. But I mean this one needs medical attention like now. >> I don't know how that line snapped though. That's a >> that instinct that adrenaline going. >> So did it snap from him after you got shot? >> Yeah. >> I don't like this man. What do they >> That sounds suspicious. >> It does. >> I mean are they going to pursue anything? >> So personally get bodies here. Oops. Oops. Oh man, make yourself silly. >> Yeah. And I'm cruel. I'll meet you out back. >> Hey, we'll meet you out front, sir. >> All right. >> I need you to come on around. >> Okay. >> I don't know about y'all, but shoot a dog if you want to kill it. >> It's skittish like somebody's uh >> been beating him. Yeah, but he's he like see how he went when I barely touched him. Somebody been beating that dog. >> I've been fighting it. I fight it too early. That's what I said though. Somebody been trying to fight the dog, man. It didn't perform like they wanted or won't fight back and they shot it >> where >> other side. Yeah, it looks like >> dog was biting on them. I don't know. >> Oh, now they probably where they got the ear clip >> on the ear. >> Yeah, the ears clipped like inside. Yeah, it looks like it does look like a bunch of uh like puncture marks on the ear on the inside. >> Little twisty off. >> Well, if y'all need a work excuse, we'll give you a case number. You can tell your supervisor. >> I'm going [laughter] to see if I can adopt. >> I'm going to ask animal control to get the other dog. >> Yeah, they're going to be in route. >> No, I'm talking about that one. >> Oh, uh there's another person here that take care of I'm thinking three cows for animal cruelty. Well, the officers continued checking on the dogs, ensuring they received the care they needed. At the same time, they prepared for the possibility of pursuing animal cruelty charges. >> Here, there's Oh, there's another person there. >> No, no, those two people are the heat takes care of them. They can't even take care of themselves, much less a dog. I got you. I'll talk to you. Hey, uh we're going to charge him with three counts of animal cruelty. Okay. >> Um mainly because of the he small very minute injury. He >> came inside, he was safe and he came back out with a gun and >> Okay, cool. Um I'm actually really glad cuz I mean you guys can do that. We can't. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But do you want the other dog? Because this person's not >> taking care of him cuz he's the caretaker for the other adult that's here. >> Okay. I think Yeah, 100%. I'll go ahead and collect the other dog. Come on. >> Take a step outside, please. >> All right. I'm right now. I need you to put your hand behind your back. Put your hand behind your back. Okay. >> What are you doing, man? >> I'm placing you under arrest for animal cruelty right now. >> Animal cruelty. Elmo bit me. >> Okay. >> I got I got to take care of them. Just one click would be fine. >> I don't believe this. >> Come on. >> You're under arrest for three counts of animal cruelty. >> Central 1095. But >> what about the animal attacking me? I completely understand you got attacked, sir, but you came inside and you were safe. >> Yep. >> You could have called animal control in that situation and dealt with it that way. Instead, you went got a loaded firearm and shot it at that dog and also caused injury to two other dogs. >> Conscious decision. You made a conscious decision for your actions. >> I got a doctor's appointment on him, too. >> Okay. >> Man, this doesn't make sense. things. All three of these dogs here. Usually with pits, you see them. They're even aggressive when they're injured, but this one's just >> he's just scared. I don't usually see that. >> I call somebody to try to get somebody to come out here with y'all. >> Here's the key to his car, sir. >> I don't know. >> I have it right here. I'm giving it to you. >> All right. >> To keep it here. Okay. >> All right. >> Is there anything that we could do for you? >> No, I I don't know. God me don't give a life. Did you see him shoot on the left? >> I hear you, sir. But unfortunately, that's the circumstances the way it is right now. I mean, it's not even his dog, and he caused injury to two other dogs that didn't do him any harm. >> As the officers moved to charge the suspect with animal cruelty, he protested, insisting the dog had bitten him and that his actions were in self-defense. However, they ultimately arrested him, making it clear that his decision had caused harm to the dogs regardless of his claims. >> Total. Only one of them bit him. >> One of them bit him. >> Yeah, he shot three dogs total. >> Oh, help. >> And he didn't want to call 911 or animal control to get some help for him. >> What was three dogs doing around him? >> They were in the backyard. All the dogs in the backyard. Every single one of them was in the backyard in the fence. He got a small bite on his ankle and he came inside where he was safe. Didn't want to call police or animal control. And then he walked back outside with his gun, shot the dog that ran off that bit him three times and the other two dogs got hit too. Still just can't be shooting them for the sake of shooting them. >> I mean, enough to take care of. >> We can be alone for a little while, but that's how long an hour or so. >> Okay. You have other family members take care of them or that home health. >> I'm the only one they got. >> What happened to everybody else? There's >> nobody else taking care of them. [laughter] Nobody helps when you do nothing. >> All right, we're going to go around here. It's larger on this side. Turner me like this. Damn. >> I know. It's policy. At least we got a other side's a lot smaller. >> Puppy, are you okay? You okay, puppy? Huh? Come on up. Come here. Come here. Come here. I'm okay. Are you okay? Come on now. Come see me. I know you're scared. 74, do you still have contact with ammo control? There's one more dog back here. I know. We going to get your buddies some help. Okay. Okay. I know. We'll get your buddies all taken care of. If I had a treat, I gave it to you. You're good puppy. You just want to play and got you tethered out here all day. Said that there was another dog. >> Yeah, there's one more dog. The tan dog got injured. Uh but >> it's back there. He's chained up. Strong dog, huh? >> All right, sir. Do you have any questions at all? >> I don't know what's going on. All I know is >> Yeah. Well, he's going to be charged with three counts of cruelty to animals. >> That's why I let him bite me. >> Yeah. But I mean, he was safe. And like I told you, he came back out and just went and shot him, which is not appropriate and unlawful. >> Whose dogs got him? >> He said two of them were his, the ones that he accidentally shot. And one of them is his nephews, I guess. >> As the conversation continued, the officer explained the situation to the neighbor. Another dog, which had been hiding and was nearly overlooked, was discovered. The officers quickly ensured it was safe and received the care it needed. >> You have a dog here, right? >> Oh, all four of them back there are mine. >> All four of them are yours. >> Well, four of them are and one's here. My uncle's >> Okay. All right. Which one's your uncle's? >> Uh, one of the black puppies. >> Okay. All right. So, yeah, these dogs are going with animal control. Uh, your uncle shot three of them. And your uncle's under arrest and he's already in route to the jail >> for animal cruelty. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay, Scott. So, how much is it to come and get home? >> You'll have to talk to them. >> Yeah. Um I'm going to give you my information and then um I'll get yours as well and then I'll kind of update you once we get the dog situated. Okay. got some of them. I mean, >> we still have to go get the one that was shot three times. That's over on Athena. >> What? Athena? >> Uh-huh. The one that um the one that he shot three times nipped them in the ankle and he went back inside, had time to be safe, got his gun, shot that dog three times, and in the same process shot two other dogs. >> Never called police, never called animal control. >> So, hold on a minute. So, which are the other two dogs still back here? >> All the dogs are in in animal control custody. >> So, which one of my dogs you shot? >> Uh, the small black one and the white and brown one. >> The stockier one. >> My pit. >> The >> my boy. >> Not this one. >> No, not not her. I'm talking about my boy. >> The little tiny stocky. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. The short legs. >> He shot him. >> Yeah. So, that's why all the dogs are going to animal right now. And we still have to get the other ones. So, >> let me go ahead and get your information just so I can go. Go ahead. What's your corner? >> And that dog's bleeding out still. So, >> I'll be in contact with Okay. >> It should swing around if you don't want to back out. But >> um >> I'm going to park right here and talk to you. >> Okay. So, you can see I mean it's a bloody mess back there. >> You can look at this kennel. >> That's my dog. He shot right here. >> Yeah. This little black dog was shot. The one that was cowering over there is the short leg, white and brown one. >> He shot him. >> He got shot in the front left leg. >> And I'm gonna assume that he my my puppy, didn't he? >> He's in bad shape. >> How many times you shoot him? >> Uh, I don't know. We didn't look at the number of holes, but the one over on Athena um got shot three times and he's in bad shape. So, like I said, I mean, if he was getting bit actively and shot the dog in self-defense, that would have been fine. I would have no issue with that. But he got bit a very small bite. Like a drip of blood is coming out. >> Attacked him again. You have permission to shoot that one. Not come over here and shoot the rest of them. That's chained up. >> Well, the grandson finally showed up to check on his dogs and learned about his uncle's actions. The officers explained how his uncle shot three of the dogs. And as they spoke, the grandson was clearly shocked to see the damage done to his pets. retrieved his weapon, came out, shot that dog three times, and in the process shot these other dogs, too. And that the third the one that got shot three times is over on Athena Drive. >> Like what? She got out and ran off. >> Yeah. Jumped off. Yeah. I mean, there's some blood on here, so maybe jumped from here. >> How the hell No, that ain't no way her jumped over there. >> I don't know. >> Oh, hell no. That she she ain't that damn big. >> No, I >> She ain't no taller than the brown one. >> Shorter than the brown one to be honest with you. Hold on. I'm gonna have to have you talk to my mama cuz my I thought I thought my dogs would have been safe over here. This ain't even This is my grandma's house. >> Apparently, we've had history with him just shooting off his gun in his yard, which is unl dogs. He didn't shoot Sky. He shot Spike in the front leg, his front left leg. He shot Sparkles three times. And he shot up my puppy. Skye's going to the pound. They um someone who who called >> a neighbor called saying discharging firearms and saw the dog running with an injury. >> One of the neighbors called the police saying about the guns being shot and they saw one of the dogs limping off. Now I'm being taken out and they taking the dog. I don't I don't think any of them dead. I was just calling to let you know. I ain't even think he would have been that dang stupid. >> That dog was like my brother. Look, the white one did, but he I don't know why he shot my the other two. >> I just shot all three of them. And the person too come around here with some dog. >> What you bring a dog around? Two or three dogs around here? >> Cuz we were leaving. He said I could keep them here as long as I paid him. >> Keep them here. >> Oh, >> he said the white my white one that was right here broke off his chain and nipped him in the back of the ankle. Hm. The other three tied up on a chain. He should He didn't have no reason to shoot the other three, but he shot the other. He shot two of them for no reason. Those two can't even get to him. They on the chain. >> No, he didn't have >> like Look, you can go back there and look at that um kennel. The kennel that my puppy was in. That thing covered in blood. >> Uhhuh. >> There ain't no reason to be shooting. Not a puppy. At least you shouldn't be shooting no dang puppy, man. >> My puppy don't even do nothing. Well, what was he doing with your dogs over here? >> Cuz this was the only place I could bring them for someone to be able to keep them. If I didn't burn them here, I would have to send them to the pound. >> You sp that cuss at me. Usually, there would have been nothing. >> You want me to write the report number for this incident down? >> Man, I could understand shooting her. The heck you shooting other dogs for? I can understand shooting her if he's act if she's actively buying them. Yeah. But not when you go back inside and just go grab a gun where you're safe and >> besides you called me and I told you I was on my way down here. There wasn't even no point of you. >> So he got time he he got bit. He had time to call you. >> Called me and told me what was going on and >> and then he got a gun and seems unreasonable to me. Be quite honest. That number I gave you on the back of that card is a report number. >> Yeah. I should took him to the park. The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals. He shot three dogs, injuring them, and the gun was collected as evidence. If you thought the dog situation was intense, the next case took things to another level. A domestic dispute that escalated into a tense standoff with police. [snorts] On April 29th, 2023 in Houston, Texas, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call involving a woman and her boyfriend, Michael Ruiz. She reported that Ruiz had been threatening her and refusing to leave her property. When officers arrived, they tried to communicate with Ruiz, who had barricaded himself inside a trailer on the property. Despite the tense standoff, Ruiz eventually surrendered to police orders and was taken into custody. >> Hello. >> What's going on? How can I help you? >> Okay. Supposed to be right here in the back of the RV. >> In an art like right behind this building? >> Yeah. Well, right here at the house, but behind it. It's my RV. He's back there. >> What did he do? >> He said that he's going to hang himself if he sees the cop or he's going to shoot at y'all. So, y >> What's his name? >> Michael Ruiz. >> Michael Louise. Uh Ruiz. What's he wearing? >> Hispanic male. Black male. Hispanic. >> How old is he? >> Uh 31. >> So, he should be the only one back there right now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. Why is he drowning to hang himself? >> So if he want to kill himself >> telling that he's suicidal? >> Yeah. >> So if he stays back there with you, he's your boyfriend or ex? >> He does not want to leave. >> Uh I'll go check on him right now. See, and then uh just answer the door when I knock. I'll check if he's back there. Houston police. Okay. Okay. Okay, Sergeant Coleman actually just came out here. So, I guess I'll just also update him and let him know. But, okay. Thank you, sir. Hello. I was outside Smith. Um, so basically the caller, she owns that RV. She's saying her ex lives back, lives in it. He refuses to leave. Ex has been saying that he's going to kill himself. He's going to hang himself. And if he's going to leave, he's going to shoot. and that way we can shoot him. I went back there, knocked. I feel like I kind of hear movement every time I knock, but I'm not sure if the squeaking is coming from the RV itself or >> Yeah. Sergeant Smith said to try and call him and see if maybe we hear ringing from the inside because she he's actively texting her, but she said that he said he was at the park. >> Which park? This one right down the street that I just passed. >> Uh, I guess I I don't know for sure. parked right there. >> Yeah, I don't know if I have to go back and ask her. She's been trying to keep She's in the house. >> The deputy arrived at the scene after the victim called for help. She recounted how her boyfriend had forced his way into her home, grabbed her, and restrained her, leaving her struggling to breathe. Fearing what he might do next, she urged the deputy to file charges against him. You ready? Yep. >> All right, let's go. Not yet. No. We have a hammer. Where's the Where's the kit out of? Yeah. Yeah. Is there Is there a a hammer with the kit? >> Um whatever it end in there and then there's uh his tool here. Let me switch it to nothing. Okay. moving at all Let's try this way. Ready? Yeah. You hit it at that angle. Yeah. Dig it in a little more. All right. You ready? Just in place. Pull it down. kitchen. There's one door right there. The officers spoke with the woman again to gain a better understanding of the suspect's mental state. Determining that further action was necessary, they decided to remove him from the RV. Additional units were called in to assist with the extraction, ensuring the situation was handled safely and effectively. Come out slowly. Use your hands on the door. Get your hands back out, man. >> Get your hands all the way out. All the way out where I can see them. >> Where's the out? >> Start giving commands these spatters. >> Sir, get out. Do you have vines? >> Okay. Well, then you don't want no trouble. Then walk towards me slowly. >> I got non-lethal. >> Take your hands out. All the way out. Take your hands all the way out. >> Come on, man. Here's your police department, dude. We're not going to We're going to send the dog in if you don't come out. Come on, man. Slowly, slowly, >> slowly walk towards me. >> Slowly walk towards me. >> We'll talk about it. Don't do anything dumb, man. >> Okay, I got you. Keep them up. Turn around. Turn around for me. Okay, face the wall for me. Slowly start coming back. >> Come back to where you can see. I got you. I got you. >> I hear you, man. I know you got to look where you're going. I got you. There's a bunch of [ __ ] in here. I got it. >> You're doing good. Okay. >> Pull your pull your shirt up so we can see waistband by your collar. By your collar. Yep. Just like that. >> Okay. Well, we got to check, man. That's it. >> We just got to check >> here. Step. One more. One more. >> Keep coming. Keep coming, brother. >> Walking back. >> Come on. Nice and easy. >> Keep coming. I'm going help you down the stairs. Keep coming. All right. >> All right. You ready? Step. >> I'm going go to the second one. >> Okay. >> Hey, you know better than I do, man. >> Okay, I got you. >> One more. Stop. >> Right back. Is there anyone else in here? >> Is there anybody else in here? clear step back. >> Okay. >> All right. >> All right. Spread your feet for me. >> The officers finally managed to force open the vehicle's door and safely removed the suspect. Once out, they handcuffed him and conducted a thorough search for any weapons, ensuring he was securely under control. What? Two weeks. >> You might have a 60, right? >> No. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> I had a lighter on me. I took that off. 11,000. I don't want y'all sitting there thinking like, you know, >> why don't you come out? Let me tell you today, man. We're all outside. >> Yeah, bro. Look, I just got done doing what, 7 years. I'm 20. I violated my parole cuz of my girl. You know what I'm saying? And you go here. I don't got nothing. You know what I'm saying? So, I violated my parole. She told me to come over here. >> That way I can spend time with my son. >> Let's have a seat first real quick. >> Did you stay here? >> Yeah. She told me come stay for the past 2, three weeks. This is where I've been staying. >> Two, three weeks. >> You can ask my mom. You can ask my daddy. This is where I'll be. >> Okay. But why aren't we coming down when we, you know, we didn't do all that stuff? >> I I'm scared, bro. I I've been prison three times. I don't want to go back. I've been trying to talk to my my PO and try to tell her like they violated me over some classes, you know, and I'm like, man, I did drugs. I went to my classes, I got sick, and then I had car trouble. I missed three classes. They kicked me out. They violated me. And I'm just like, my like It's not me. It's it's the parole board. So for like the past 2 3 weeks, she like, "Come over here. Stay over here. That way you can spend time with Adrian. You can sit here, be with him, you know, this and that." So she been doing me wrong, coming at me like like because she wants like my full undivided attention. I'm like, "Man, I got to work. I got to I got to do something cuz I can't just sit here and live off y'all. I can't see do that. Like I'm not that type of person. >> She don't want to understand that. I keep telling her if you want me to go, I'll go. I I tell you. You know what I'm saying? This is the same thing. Look, it's the same thing that happened last time when I told her the same thing. I said, "If you want me to go, I'll leave." Come to find out, she got a dude living in there and I'm staying out here. I said I was like, "Bro, why you do that? Why don't you just say leave? I leave." You know what I'm saying? So, last night I leave, I take off from one of my friends. I come back. She's talking all this mess that it's it's an argument between me and her. You know, we sitting there, we arguing things we said that Come on, man. Like I told her, you say things that hurt my feelings, bro, and you're the only person in this world that can hurt my feelings. I I don't care what no one says, but you you hurt me. My son, if he says something, yeah, it hurts me, but I know he's a kid, so I don't take it to heart like that, but you gone. >> The investigation continued as the deputies listened to the suspect side of the story. He explained that he had violated his parole due to ongoing fights with his girlfriend and had stayed with her to see his son. However, things had taken a turn for the worse. And then he mentioned something about the previous night that left the deputies questioning what really happened to escalate the situation. >> Hey. Hey. Last night >> you guys are in an argument, right? >> You say like this. Last night she come out. I sitting there telling her, "Hey, I'mma leave with my friend. You know what I'm saying? I'mma be back and I go to the store. We going to go get something to eat." This she sitting there start going out talking about, "Oh, you going to go [ __ ] with some [ __ ] You going to go do this and that." I'm like, "Man, hold up. What What you mean, man? Like, I'm just trying to get something to eat. I ain't ate nothing all day. I don't want to eat y'all food." So, we sitting there arguing over that cuz she think I'm going to go meet up over the chick, man. I say like this. Since me and her since I'm s I've been out of boy prison for about a year and a half since I've been out I probably only talked to one other chick and that's cuz me and her had split. You know what I'm saying? I'm fighting out all kinds of her friends and I'm saying like man, you know what? I don't I don't want to hear. >> So we start throwing [ __ ] like back in each other's face. You know what I'm saying? She out of me. I s like man what's up bro? Like, why you hitting me, bro? Like, I'm talking to you. I ain't even yelling. I ain't screaming. I ain't doing nothing wrong. That [ __ ] you just slap the out of me, man. I'm talking about like we literally right there. She starts crying, talking about my little boy. What she say? My little boy uh loves me more than her. That my little boy be hurt when I go back. And she just starts talking about all this stuff. Talking about am I a bad mom? And I was like, "Look, man, it's like I'm not I don't want to break your heart like this. Like this why I never said it." And I was like, "But he's told me he thinks you're a bad mom." And I'm like, "Man, >> don't don't take like what [snorts] he says like 100% because he's a kid. He doesn't understand." I was like, "Man, like I tried to respond like, "Hey, you >> you don't know, but your mama makes sacrifices." You know what I'm saying? She goes through things and she does things for you because she loves you. I was like, "Me, too." So I'm telling this, she just mad talking about like >> I destroyed her life. I did this. I said, "Bro, I can't choose for you. I make your decision." That made her that made her like mad cuz I'm not going to feed in to your [ __ ] basically. And it made her mad and she sitting there like trying to throw like, "But what about you? you've been to jail prison and he loves you more. You weren't there his whole life like I was that and I was like you don't understand he's a kid. >> She come at me she she stabbed me again and like >> when she slam me like like she she slam me on this side. No, this this l this side right here be like she slam me. I'm I'm just looking at like, yo, yo, hits don't mean nothing to me. Like, they don't hurt me. You know what I'm saying? I I done did 11 years in prison. I don't fought. I don't get stabbed. I don't been fan molded and everything. I I don't like your hits, my body's numb. >> Moving on, the suspect explained that last night he and his girlfriend argued when he went out for food and she thought he was seeing another woman. Things got worse with her slapping him, but he told the deputies that her actions didn't hurt after everything he'd been through in prison. >> She starts hitting me and like I don't know like like like like you can ask my family. I done had black eyes from her. I done had busted lit. I'm sitting there like like like bro stop. You know what I'm saying? Like like I'm really I'm trying to hold my composure, bro. I'm trying to cuz I know she's upset at me and I know it's because what I told her it hurt her and then the way she's thinking and I'm sitting I'm like bro like like all this started because I'm telling you hey I want to go to the store and then I want to go get something to eat the food matter fact still on the table the jack of the box that I had got the sodas in the cooler that I had got I had got uh her a drink a little boy drink got some candies and stuff >> okay >> and when I get back she says, "I'm unappreciative." And I was like, "No, you unappreciated." >> All right. Is there any weapons in the trailer? >> I mean, that's like what like a bow knife or uh >> any firearms? >> Hell no. >> There's no firearms better. I know better than that, man. >> Is there any firearms in this house? >> No, I don't go in that house. Like, like >> you don't go in that house? >> It's like they tell me like, "Hey, can you get this and get that down for But other than that, like that's like they keep they like storage. But n man, like ain't no fires or none of that. I said, man, I was scared. I was my last. I like man like the last time just so she can get rid of me and save old boy which I beat that case because she was basically like [ __ ] around on me and she had this dude hiding in there inside the house and messing with him to get rid of me because like I'm catching on. So we're arguing. And I'm like, man, like I ain't done. Like, bro, like I can tell someone's in there. Like, you you been last couple days. Tell someone's in there. Like, like just tell me the truth, bro. Go, bro. Like, like I'mma play my part, man. I'm I'm going to walk off. I'm still going to be there for my son. Everybody, you know, feelings are hurt, but come on, man. Like, like, >> wait. So, you live in this house. Okay. So, you live in this trailer for 2 weeks, but she's with another dude over here. >> Exactly. >> With your son. Is your son over here? >> Yeah. >> This is the last time, man. He'll tell you. Uh, all right. I think Adam, >> you know what I'm saying? >> Where's your son at now? >> I guess with her, she told me she had him. >> I could have swore right now when I pass by. I could have sw I see my little boy in the street right there. You know what I'm saying? He's only 8 years old. But this is the last time. And she sat there and told them that I pulled a gun on her. You weren't even outside. It was me and boy, we were arguing and we were going to fight. You know what I'm saying? and we're sitting there. We're having words back and forth. I was like, man, I left. So, she calls the law tells them that I did this. I fool to go. >> The suspect continued to explain his side of the story, mentioning that his girlfriend had hit him during the argument, but he remained calm and didn't retaliate. He firmly denied having any weapons on him and insisted that past fights between them had been misunderstood. >> There you go. wife, you know, she calls me and she's like, "Hey, this dude, this dude's tripping. Can you please come over here?" This and that. So, I come over here. That's my grandmother. That's my little boy. I'mma protect them at all cost. So, I come over here. Law swung down on me. They talking about where's the gun? Where's the gun? They don't find no gun, nothing. She done this before, bro. They find no gun. They sit there, they lock me up. I sat where county for about 3, four months fighting. They come back, they uh uh when they come back, they basically like dropped the case because no evidence, nothing. And she finally was like, >> "I need help. I'm out here alone. Nobody's helping me." All this and that. So she was like, "Hey, >> I'll do whatever." She talks to my lawyer. She signs an affidavit saying basically like like they let me out. I told her like, "Bro, why you do that, bro?" Like all you did was you hurt me but you hurt my son cuz he loves me and he wants me here. You know what I'm saying? Like like why why you do this bro? Like if you want to go around and all that and what it is is jealousy, man. Like she don't want me talking to no one. I told her like man you got my heart. I ain't going to talk to no like >> what's her what's her name? >> Jessica. I'm saying so man we've been look we've been off and on since what 2012 you know what I'm saying? when we first met and it's like me. >> All right. >> That's always been the same [ __ ] >> So, you didn't pull you saying you didn't pull a gun on her last night? >> Why the hell did I do that? >> Okay. >> I'm say that. >> And you never put hands on her last night? >> I pushed off of me because she was sitting there hitting me. >> Okay. >> But other than that, I she starts going wild, man. She she swinging everywhere and I'm sitting there like, man, >> but where but on let me shoot left side of the face. >> She sitting there like like man there just some [ __ ] >> Did she hit you anywhere else? >> N like she's like like she slam me them two times and then >> did she hit you anywhere else in the body? >> Like I mean she was swinging [ __ ] like like >> but >> she can't hurt me. She always does that the last time. >> All right, just just hang out for us. >> Sorry. Sorry about that. But All right. Yeah. So, the very least, you're going in for your warrant. >> Yeah. I mean, I'm not tripping on that like like But okay. >> I look man, >> she got some history doing this, bro. And it's [ __ ] up cuz I'm a good dude, bro. Like, like, don't get me wrong, like like I've learned through my mistakes, I learn to other people mistakes, but it's like, bro, like I love this woman. I can't do this, bro. I love my little boy, man. And I stick it out for rain cuz my little boy land. >> Okay. >> He loves me when he was whenever I was saying he wouldn't come back to me. He don't want to be here. She want to sit there and like truck him around to different places and different dudes places. And he's like, "Dad, I'm not." >> He explained that he had been arrested after trying to help his girlfriend, claiming that she had lied about him and caused him emotional pain. Despite everything that had happened, he said he still loved her and wanted to be there for his son. >> Told you son. >> My little boy 8 years old. He go to school. I tell you I'm up there every day. >> We might take turns dropping them off, but every day I go pick my little boy up, man. Not trying to spend much time with him. >> Shoot. Can you get the keys back from >> 999?
