And I looked out the window and then I heard and then I seen Britney hit a punch and my dad like blocked it like that. And >> how am I under arrest? No, no, no, no, no. How am I under? >> Sometimes the most unexpected stories come from the mouths of children. When kids reveal dark and horrifying secrets about their parents, it can turn a family's world upside down. These heartbreaking moments remind us how much children carry inside and why their voices can't be ignored. Here are the four times when kids reveal horrifying secrets to their parents. On May 4th, 2024 in Ohio, police responded to a domestic disturbance that quickly revealed conflicting stories. A woman accuses her boyfriend of assault, claiming he pushed her during an argument. But the man, backed by his 11-year-old son, said she was the one who got physical first. As officers tried to make sense of the situation, they noted inconsistencies in the woman's account, a lack of visible injuries, and no surveillance footage to support her claim, raising serious doubts about who was really telling the truth. >> What's going on? >> He just hit me. And he just hit me right here. And yeah, he needs to get out of here. >> What? Explain to me what's going on prior to this. >> He had woke me up in my head. >> Hold on. Hold on. HOLD ON. ONE SECOND. >> I will talk to you in a second. Do you understand? >> I'm talking to her first. Go inside. I'll talk to you in a second. >> Listen to me. >> Listen to me. Go inside. I will talk to you in a second. Do you understand? Do you understand? Go inside. I will talk to you in a second. You're going in handcuffs. All right. Go inside. >> Hi. Okay, explain to me what happened and I'll talk to him. >> See, and what and me and my kids were asleep and he had woke me up cuz he left and that's my vehicle and and it doesn't even matter. But I came up here, we started arguing. He had hit me and I told him, I said, "It's the last time you're going to hit me and I'm just done with it. He needs to get here." >> Where did he hit you at? >> Right here. >> Like closed hand, open hand. >> It He hit me. He just hit me and I fell right there. >> Did you hit him first? >> No, I hit him. put my hands on him. >> Okay, so you guys are arguing for what? What caused this whole argument? >> Honestly, I don't really even know because he had left in the vehicle. That's what caused it. >> Is there any weapons inside? >> No. >> Okay. So, do you live here with him? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay. And you guys have you guys have any kids together? >> Yes, I do. And they're sleeping and that's another part of it. He >> You guys have kids together? >> Yeah. >> Okay. He was trying to start a fight between somebody else and I wasn't I'm not getting in a fight. So he then he I I he I took his phone and then well he actually he gave me his phone and then I had took it and then he he hit me. He hit me. >> How did he hit you? >> Show me with your hand. Like what did he do? >> Like I went to grab his phone and he like hit me like he went like this and I fell right here and nobody was out here to see it but he hit me. Will you fill a statement out? Will you fill a statement out for us? >> Let me see your face again. >> It was right here. He didn't hit me like >> But it was He hit me. >> Yeah. Have you guys been drinking tonight? >> No, I haven't drank anything. He's been drinking. >> Okay. Well, hold on. Let I'll go talk to him. >> I want He can come out here and talk to you. >> Well, let me Well, I want to separate you guys. So if you go in there, you're just going to call you're just going to stir the situation back up. >> This is my house though with my kids in there. So I'm going to go inside and he can come out here because he can explain his side of the story and do whatever the has to do. But that's exactly what happened. This woman was in a hurry to have her boyfriend arrested, insisting her version of events was all the officers needed. But there's one thing she clearly overlooked. You don't get to tell the police how to do their job, especially when the facts don't back you up. >> Well, I mean, I can't just talk to one person and take their side. I want to talk to him, too. >> Can you come out here and talk? >> Sure, he can come out here and he will split you guys up. >> Comfortable is with my kids. >> No, I'm not. >> You want to come out and talk to me now? >> Hey, my son's right here. >> Come out and talk to me now. >> Come out and talk to me. You got to calm down. >> I'm I'm at Go back inside because I told Listen, I said I'll talk to him separate. You said you want to go inside. So, go inside. >> Go inside. >> No, they was not. >> Go inside. >> This is my home, sir. I am so sorry for >> Come down here so I can talk to you, >> Dad. Dude, this is crazy. >> So, tell me your half of the story. >> My half of the story, the true story is I've been trying to get that out of my house for months. She will not leave. This is my dad that that tries to, you know, mediate things. And this I pay all the bills. She's not on the lease. I've been begging her to leave. My son right there was watching out the window while I was trying to get in my home. Okay. After talking to my neighbor, she came out here and attacked me. Dude, I don't hit females. I'm sorry how angry I am. >> Where did she attack you? Where she hit you at or anything? >> In the back of my head. >> Right here. >> Oh god. Wait. Thanks. >> Huh? >> No. Like this isn't the first time either. >> So you're saying you were out here? Why were you out here? >> Yeah, I was out here. Look, my truck's on. >> Yeah, with the car. >> Yeah, my truck was on. >> And then what happened after she >> as soon as I got out? She kept rushing up at me because she she we you know, we have two girls together. This ain't the first time cops has been here. Me and her. I mean, not like just arguing and but like she fighting his neighbor, his old lady, and then she comes at me and hits me. My son's sitting in that. That's why I'm mad because the man and I'm trying to get her out of my house and overlook ain't wanting to do nothing. >> Well, you have to properly evict her. I I understand that. But like when she's like telling me like locking me out of my own home when this is my home. Nobody >> overlook. You can only have one person on the lease unless you're married. >> Correct. Correct. My uncle is right there. Mikey Stout, my other uncle Teddy and my dad Joey that's on the phone right now. That heard it all too while my son was sitting there watching it. >> She got in there charging on the drive. So, so did your neighbor see anything? Let me see. Let me see your head. >> He did. >> Let me see your head. >> Like, like she I mean, she didn't pulled it. >> You didn't even let me see it. >> Yeah. Hang on, dude. >> No. >> Where'd she hit you at? >> She hit me right here in my head. >> Back of my head. I never touched her. >> So, how how did her chin get all red right here? >> Her chin got red. >> Yeah, like her jaw right here. >> She slipped right here. I do ask them. Ask my son. I don't didn't hit her. Did not. I would never get >> him out here. You >> want to talk to him on his own? >> Yeah, that's fine. You need to go inside. >> The man definitely had his side of the story. And to the officers, it made a lot more sense than his girlfriend's version. Still, they didn't jump to conclusions. Instead, they turned to someone who might actually clear things up. The one person who saw it all happen. >> Can you tell us what happened, buddy? >> Um, so I was So I heard >> Stop. So, I was um sitting on my phone and uh on the couch and then I heard Britney on the phone um yelling at my dad to get home >> and then >> No, go back inside real quick. We're talking to everybody separately. >> You're talking to a child? >> Yeah, I am. >> Go back inside. >> Do you want to obstruct my investigation? >> Please go back inside. >> What the [ __ ] That's the child. >> Exactly. That's why I'm talking to him. Please go back inside. >> Why was she so anxious about the officers talking to the child? Was it because she knew her version wouldn't hold up? The officers sensed something was off and they knew it wouldn't be long before the truth came out. And then um I heard uh like Britney uh yelling and then she came out of the door and then I heard them screaming and I looked out the window and then I heard and then I seen Britney [snorts] hit a punch and my dad like blocked it like that and then she kind my dad kind of like kind of pushed her off a little bit and then that was it. And then my dad came in yelling and saying uh he he was going to call the police and Bernie kept on saying she was going to call the police. Does that make sense for what she told you? >> Oh, what she's saying is complete opposite. She says she went out here because he was in the truck or whatever and then that they got into an argument and he hit her and she fell on the ground. >> She fell on the ground at all. >> Yeah. >> But his and his story is the same. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm good with that. >> Yeah. >> Yep. We're going to step inside here and talk to you real quick. >> Is your dog going to bite? >> No, he's not. Okay. I hope not. >> He wants to press charges on me. Hitting me. Listen, officer. Listen. Listen to this. I did not put my hands on him. He hit me. >> You know, you know what? Here's a here's the deal. There's two sides to every story, >> right? >> Okay. >> Is there any way that he can just go? >> Well, there's already been domestic claimed here. Okay. >> So, from what we're being told, >> I have custody of my kids. I was asleep in my room. Of course, your kids at >> My kids are asleep and he had woke me up driving my vehicle. >> That's your guys' kids together, right? >> Yeah, it's our kids together, but he but he was trying to start an argument between me and somebody else. And I said, so I was trying to deescalate the problem because I'm not bringing no arguments here. And then he had hit me. He hit me in my face. And it's not just my am like it's that's how he will try to make it to be like I'm lying, but I'm not lying. >> I mean, the the the redness that >> right there's a mark on my face. Well, right here it's it's like I don't know if it's cuz you're rubbing it or what. >> No, he had hit me. I didn't put my hands on him. >> You didn't hit him in the back of the head? >> No, I did not do any of that. And that I didn't hit him. >> That's your son out there. >> No, that's my stepson. That's his son. >> I didn't put my hands on him. >> I mean, do you think like how old is your stepson? >> He's 11. >> Do you think an 11-year-old would just kind of make up and fabricate a story or >> Honestly, I I really do. I really think so. >> Well, here >> if he cuz he had came in here and told him that like, "Oh, she hit me. She hit me." Cuz he doesn't want to go to jail. But like the the thing about it is is this is the last time he's going to put his hands on me because I've been hit enough. Me and my kids have been through enough here. >> Yeah. >> So, he's he's going to have to just whatever you look whatever you guys he needs to go to jail. He needs to sit in jail and he needs to have some time to think about what doing because he's acting crazy. She realized her stepson's statement had seriously hurt her case, but she wasn't ready to back down. Even if it meant suggesting the child was lying, she kept pushing her version of events. At this point, she'd have to back it up with real proof because if she couldn't, it was clear who was going to be in trouble. >> So, you're saying that you >> And I have cameras actually, like I had charged that camera. >> Do you have camera footage of the incident? No, I don't because nobody was out there. The neighbors wasn't out there. He had ran over. >> Huh? >> They said they didn't see it. We talked to them. >> Okay. Well, the neighbors wasn't out there. That's exactly right. The neighbors wasn't out there. Nobody was out there. It was me and him and I had grabbed. He was trying to start an argument here and I like I said, I'm not going to have no argument. No fighting here because of my kids and this is where like I live here with my kids and I'm trying, you know, like it's not I'm not doing that. So, >> he had hit me and it's the last time he's going to put his hands on me ever again. >> So, after you went out there to the car and confronted him for whatever reason, you're saying he just hit you? >> Yeah. >> Why did you go outside with your brother? Oops. >> How did you guys get outside? >> See, it's all it's all confusing. It's confusing to me, too. Like, >> so he showed up at the house. You're inside, correct? >> He had came back cuz he was he was leaving. >> So, he left the house, came back. >> You're inside. He's outside. You went outside to talk to him, >> right? I went outside to talk to him because we were already on the phone and then he had he was trying to create a whole bunch of other problems. >> Why are you guys fighting while you were on the phone? >> No. No. >> But how did it escalate so quick? >> Because he had he had put his hands on. >> Can I shot this dog in this room? >> Um I can get him. >> Can you please shut your dog in the room? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> I don't know. But the thing about it is though, like if nobody if no like if we're not going to separate tonight, like I don't think I don't feel safe here with me and my kids. >> Yeah. >> So that's all I'm >> going to go get my camera. I need to grab a couple pictures if that's if that's cool. >> Is that Is that okay? >> Yeah. I'm just very overwhelmed right now as you can imagine. >> You know what I mean? So, >> and uh >> I just don't I just don't know what to do >> with the situation. >> Can we please like to shut the door? >> I do want to press charges against him actually. I think that I think that is what >> when it comes to DV. It doesn't even matter if you want to or not want to. >> Really doesn't matter. Once the primary aggressor is determined, that's who goes. Okay. especially when there's claims of physical injury or physical altercation. After that, it's all it's all court. You know, once that's done, you know, if your guys' statements, if you if you guys told some non-truth on there, that's going to, you know, court's going to see that, you know, that's not the truth. >> Things were getting serious, and she knew it. What may have started as an attempt to use the argument to get him out of the house was now spiraling out of her control. With her story falling apart and no evidence to back it up, she looked overwhelmed like the last place she wanted this to end up was in court. >> So, whoever, if there is charges, then that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that you're guilty or innocent. It just means that that's what the primary aggressor is. How can somebody be? How can somebody like >> I'm a little shooken up so I can't like I'm not like I just had a lot happen to me. Like whether >> I just I'm I have a lot going on right now. I have my kids in there. Like I mean he shouldn't have hit me. [music] You know what I mean? And he >> But I'm sure his story is the same. Saying that you shouldn't have hit him, >> right? >> There there's two sides, >> right? But I didn't hit him. But well, I mean, and and he didn't hit you. Apparently, >> it goes both ways. And that's what I'm saying. That's what court's for, >> right? >> So, you know, our job is to determine the primary aggressor. >> His dad wasn't even here to see us. I don't even care about >> We don't care what his dad has to say. All right. >> We care what you have to say and what he has to say. You guys are the ones here. >> And any other witnesses, that's what we care about. >> But a child wasn't here. hit that >> child was sitting in the window apparently. >> No, he wasn't. >> Okay. Well, I wasn't here to see it either. He wasn't here to see it. So, we have to go based off the two stories we're told. We determine a primary aggressor. That's who goes to jail. All right. I'm just being blunt with you. I'm not going to sit here and waste each other's time anymore. Okay? That's what court's for. When you guys go to court, you guys hash it all out there. >> Right? >> If you guys say, you know what, no, that didn't happen, that's on you guys. >> Okay? >> Right? I'm just I'm I'm just trying to make it as simple as possible explaining it to you. >> Okay. But I just want to make sure that I'm not going to jail tonight. >> I'll explain that to you once you get done with your statement. >> Done with your statement. >> Um yeah. Can you sign it? So I'm sorry. I know that you >> got other stuff. >> Yeah. You guys do have other we have to do. >> You're going to jail. So let's go. >> I'm going to jail. And just like that, the arrest was no longer a question. It was inevitable. The moment the boy told officers what he saw, everything shifted. His stepmom was now the main aggressor in their eyes. At that point, her only real option was to cooperate. But the big question was, would she actually go along without making things worse? >> No. No. How am I under arrest? How am I under arrest for getting hit? cuz you're determined to be the primary aggressor. >> I'm under No, no, no. >> No. No. No. No. No. >> Yes. >> Don't. >> Come here. >> Don't make it work. >> I have a resisting charge. We have to >> HOW AM I UNDER ARREST? NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. HOW AM I UNDER ARREST? HOW AM I UNDER ARREST? NO. WHOA. LOOK. I have rights. I just got hit. You better stop. >> I just Hey. Hey. You guys. >> YOU BETTER MAKE this worse. You're going to get a resisting charge. >> You're going to get a resisting charge. >> No. Sir, stop. Sir, please. >> Sorry. >> You don't even know. >> You're going to make this a lot harder than IT HAS TO BE. OKAY. >> LISTEN, my kids. No. No. No. No. Look. Look. LOOK. LISTEN. LISTEN. HOW AM I >> ALL RIGHT. LOOK. YOU'RE LOOK. >> THEN YOU NEED TO STOP. >> NO. NO. [screaming] NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. SIR. LOOK. NO. NO. NO. NO. SIR. I DIDN'T DO IT. HOW AM I BEING AN AGGRESSOR WHEN I DIDN'T DO IT? >> That's what court's for. >> No, no, no, no, no. >> THAT'S WHAT COURT'S FOR. STOP. >> NO, NO, NO, NO. Help me. OH [screaming] MY GOD. >> NOW you're getting resistant charge. >> You're under arrest FOR DOMESTIC. >> KEEP IT GOING. YOU'RE GOING TO BE OBSTRUCTING. >> I GOT no sir. Sir. Sir, I didn't do anything. How are you going to arrest a female? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. SIR, PLEASE. I'M NOT TRYING TO WASTE YOU GUYS' TIME. I'M JUST GOING TO GET HER. >> NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. HOW AM I GETTING ARRESTED? >> Come on. >> How am I How am I >> Hey, wait. Unlock my car. >> I have rights, son. >> Come on. >> I have rights, sir. No. NO. [screaming] NO. My kids are in there. Somebody No. I How am I getting arrested for somebody? My Where is he at? >> The lock. It's open. >> Where is he? >> Get in there. >> No. No. No. No. >> How am I getting my kid IN A NEW WAY? >> NO. I HUNT NOW. >> DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME? NO. NO. I HAVE KIDS. NO. >> You better put your foot in. >> Get your foot. Don't stop. >> Please. Will you help me out of this? No. No. No. >> Put your foot in. >> The moment the officer told her she was under arrest, that was it. There was no going back. But instead of cooperating, she broke down in tears, thinking maybe that would change things. It didn't. In fact, it only made things worse. Now, on top of everything else, she was facing an additional charge for resisting arrest. Sir, he went in there. Please tell me he did. Thank you. >> He went He went in there. I told him to keep an eye on my kid. >> No, I [laughter] How are you doing this? >> Listen, you got to calm down before we get to the JAIL >> WITH MY KIDS. My kids are in there, sir. >> No. NO. HE'S NOT SAFE WITH MY KIDS. NO. NO. HE'S NO. NO. HE'S NOT SAFE WITH MY KIDS. PLEASE. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. He's not safe WITH MY KIDS. PLEASE, PLEASE. NO, NO, NO. PLEASE, SIR. PLEASE. You have to BELIEVE ME. NO. THIS HE HIT ME. HOW AM I GOING TO JAIL FOR THIS? [snorts] [laughter] NO. NO. I don't. No. No. [screaming] No. No. No. No. No. No. No. What the kids? No, [laughter] NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. [laughter] >> SIR, SIR, please listen. I have two daughters, okay? I have two kids, okay? >> Did you get my shoe? I don't even care. I don't even care about the shoe. I don't care. [clears throat] All right, we're going inside. Okay, hang on. >> And we're going to finish this statement. Do you need help? >> I've had four triple bypass surges. >> Yeah, that's why we're going inside. >> And a pacemaker. >> You roll my Somebody rolled my windows on my dad. Somebody. >> You got keys? >> She might have took them or put them inside. >> I don't know what she's done with them. >> All right, we'll find those keys. I'm just going to get you sat down working on the statement. All right. >> You're fine. Your dog bite me? >> No. >> Here they are. She put them in my have my coat on here. She said >> the cameras though. Look, there's the camera, sir. >> Right there. There's one of them. There's one right there, too. >> There's another one right there that's supposed to be on the front on the washer on the front. >> I believe you. I just need that. >> I'm sorry, dude. I'm just >> This is >> I'm scared because my children >> If I have this, this goes with my report. Mhm. >> Right. For the arrest report and then this gets forwarded to the court. So if you want to apply for a TPO for full hearing for protection order, I need that to be real good and detailed. >> She was taken into custody not just for domestic violence, but also for resisting arrest, turning a bad situation into a much worse one. Well, in the next case, things could have ended much worse. A 14-month-old girl, [snorts] a little angel, nearly lost her life, all because of her mother's carelessness. On April 28th, 2024, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, hospital staff made a shocking discovery, a 14-month-old baby holding burnt aluminum foil with a stamped pill on it. Officers were called immediately. The baby's mother and her boyfriend, who had been staying overnight in the hospital room, appeared high and were uncooperative with staff. Surveillance showed the baby handling drug laced foil, and the mother admitted she'd recently used drugs, claiming to be only 3 days clean. She was on methadone and Subutex, but had a known history of overdose and drug use. When confronted with evidence, she resisted arrest, tried to hide items in her pants, and even assaulted officers, making an already dangerous situation even worse. >> Oh. >> Oh. >> So, what's what's the deal with 3314? >> Um, so >> well, where's the room first of all? >> Okay, they can't hear you. >> Okay, so what's going on? Um, so we have baby. Baby's medical care, but we're holding COVID because we got to get them involved because mom came in. I had a patient like 3 nights ago was like very impaired. He's nodding off falling asleep. Um, so that's why I put a tally sit in there. So there's a camera in there. Um, tonight I guess she got this guy. I don't know if this is dad or not. According to his dad incarcerated for this baby, so I'm not sure if that was dad. Um, when we got here they were both here. Um but then she left at some point and um Tally said her call at least in our arch and like looked at things position but they have a bunch of like stuff like bags on the bed so clean that off so they can have a good visual. So while he was cleaning off the bags and she was asking like just keep it clean. I was like getting the baby and putting her to lay down and she had um foil under him and then like a little cap on the other. So, I just like grabbed it with some in case she knew I could take it with me and then I showed her and then she called them, but they're very like they're just a lot nodding off in there because they use like they refuse a crib. We lock them in the crib so they can sleep on the bed and they refuse it and it's just not safe. >> So, do you think there's in there? >> Yeah. >> Did Did the baby have like any contact with >> um she was holding the foil? I don't know. >> Did the foil What did the foil look like? >> Which hand was the baby holding it in? >> On her left. >> How long? >> I don't I don't know. We just went in there. I don't know how long she had. Like I said, they had a bunch of bags on there and stuff. >> Okay. So, we don't know how long. >> Yep. There's a blue in there. Okay. >> Do you guys know what mom's name is? >> Huh? >> Bell. >> Yeah. >> Marty Bell. >> Called somebody at the desk. Gonzalez. >> So, the baby's medically cleared. It's just the >> the um workers here in the pediatric unit, they're holding the baby just because of the fact that was found inside the room that the baby was holding. And the mom is I haven't talked to her yet, but she's impaired. So, and then the gentleman that she was with, she just left. He's impaired as well. The baby's old >> 14 months. >> 14 months. Okay. And what was the reason why the baby came in? >> Respiratory infection. >> Yes. >> Bronculitis. >> Well, after speaking with hospital staff, the officer then walked into the room to check on the baby. Surprisingly, the mother seemed completely unaware of why the police were there or what was going on. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> Also, Travis NPD, can you guys turn the lights on for us? How you doing, ma'am? >> [laughter] >> What's your name? And do you have a driver's license with you? >> No, I do not. >> Why not? >> Oh, you remember me? >> I know you. >> How are you? >> Good. How are you? May remind me where I know you from. >> Was it Walmart? >> It was. >> Was it Walmart? >> Yes. You had remember? >> Oh, yeah. >> No, you you swallowed your f on me. >> Remember? >> Mhm. >> I need your name and your date of birth. Okay. Um, >> don't conceal on me cuz I can find that case number from the >> Yeah, I know. >> Okay. >> Um, so my thing with that is I think I might have more but I called the courts today cuz you know I was surrendering >> and I let them know I was here with the baby. >> Okay. >> So um they told me to take in um like doctor's note or >> proof that I was here with the baby. >> Okay. >> So what's your name? M >> Matchi last name. >> Who was the male that was in here with you? >> His name is Juan. >> Juan. What? >> So, do you know the reason why I'm here? >> No. >> Do you want to guess why I'm here? >> Get creative. >> Okay. >> Of course. >> I'm going to read you your rights before I make this. make before I do something. Okay. Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you? >> Yes. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to law enforcement? >> Okay. We got a call. Okay. >> Mhm. >> That your little one here >> Mhm. >> had on her left hand. That's >> what >> she had. When this >> today >> where >> here >> was that here? >> No. The male that you were with that's been here with her. Okay. That's her dad. >> That's her dad. He was here the whole time and there was in here. >> What the >> I'll tell you where he's at right now. You guys are to go and [ __ ] arrest him. He's not supposed to have it. And we're supposed to be getting clean and >> So that's why we're That's why I'm here. Okay. >> She She had it. >> Did they take it away? >> Yeah, I have it. >> Okay. How like how much was it or what? >> It's burnt. There was a pill in it. >> Huh? There was a pill in it. It's burnt. >> Wait, what do you mean like a pill in there? >> It's the aluminum foil was in a square. Okay. And it was burnt. And there was a 30 stamped inside the aluminum foil like somebody >> and she had it >> she had it in her hand, >> so I'm that's why I'm here. So, >> can we test her? Make sure it's not in her system. I mean, that's going to be between the staff here, but they're the ones that they're the ones that are making sure that she's safe. And right now >> Oh my god. >> Okay. Do you mind if I see her real quick? >> Yeah, please. >> How are you, sweetie? >> You doing okay? >> I don't see. >> He's okay. Who's that? Say hi. >> I know your mama. Happy Monday. >> The officer read her the Miranda rightites, but she kept insisting she had done nothing wrong and had no idea what this was all about. Despite her words, her slurred speech and body language were telling a very different story. >> Like, I actually just text him now. I told him, "We're done. Like, you're leaving like this." Like, he doesn't help me with the baby. Nothing like that. Like, I do everything by myself with the baby and he doesn't help me at all. And it's kind of No, it is up. This is like the first night. Well, the second night that he came and stayed, but like I had to force him to do it and he left just now. So, I was like, "No, we're done. Like, I can't do this with you. You're going in and out of her life, dude. Like, I don't want this." And I thought he was getting high. I knew he was getting hired still. So, I was like, "I can't have this. Like, CP is going over my house on Monday, dude. Like, I I can't lose my kids. I'm not going to lose my kids. Like, I love him so much with all my heart." Oh, >> and he got up and he left and he told me that Taz and Clar still were outside. They have warrants, too. And T and Cl were outside. And I was like, okay, well, bye. Like, go with him then. Go with them then. Like, I'm staying here with the baby. He's like, "Oh, well, just tell them that you need to go take me to work." And then I was like, "No, I'm not going to tell them that, dude. Like, I'm not going to go with you. I'm like, I'm not going to leave her here with like no, dude. Like, no. >> When was the last time her diaper was changed? >> Um, I just change her. There was a dirty diaper right there. >> Yeah, I just changed it. >> So, is there a reason why you didn't let the hospital staff attend to her? >> When? >> Just whenever. Cuz they can take care of her. Like, they can change her diaper. >> Oh, there's not a reason I didn't let them change her. When was this? Like, when do you >> So, we offered to put a sitter in here. Like a sitter in one of the blue scrubs and you didn't want her in here. >> Yeah. um when I didn't want to sit in here because that's the first time when he was going to stay in here and we were fighting. I like I just thought it was like kind of weird like not weird but like we were fighting you know I didn't I didn't want someone I don't you know just sitting right here hearing everything but the thing is >> like I was fine with them coming in and out and stuff and like but the thing is is you got to understand it's not for you guys it's for your daughter. That's what the sitter was >> at that time. I didn't think that he like I really thought he was trying to work things out with me. >> Okay. That's why and we were talking and that night we were talking everything out and >> like you got to understand this is a very big thing right here right now. >> No, I know it is. That's why >> this is involving your little one. Okay. So, >> did she have it in her mouth? >> I don't know. We can pull the camera that's in here. >> I want to know >> and see if it was in her mouth at any point in time. >> I want to know >> why was it all in here? >> Well, like I said, I didn't think you had it. And we're supposed to be getting prune clean. I took methodone this morning and does not say one on it. >> Mhm. >> He might be actually coming back up if they let him. >> They're not going to let him. I didn't allow him to come in. >> Do you try? >> I mean, they're not going to let him up here. >> I'm so mad. I'm so sad. I'm so I'm so hurt. What were you saying? I'm sorry. My my racing right now. Why? Because I forgot you. >> Yeah. Um, well, all I could think of is well, what I know is like I just >> You know, there's like been a camera in here, right? >> The entire time. >> Mhm. >> And that camera could show you guys everything. I had nothing to do with this. I wasn't near it. I didn't know anything. >> Well, this arrest wasn't going to be easy. The mother remained extremely reluctant to accept any responsibility. She kept repeating that she had no idea what was going on and insisted it wasn't her fault. So, what about what what about that? I hear that the baby almost falling off of the bed. >> When was this? >> How many times has this have the staff told you guys that she's about to fall off the bed? >> They haven't told me. You guys haven't told me anything. >> We offered you the crib to sleep on cuz you were passed out and you didn't want her to go in the crib. >> No, I said it was No, it's okay. She was fine with me. >> But you were passed out half of the time. >> What do you mean half of the time? It's night time. Of course, you mean my daughter was sleeping. She was sleeping with me last night. She was awake >> in the morning. She was awake right here and you were asleep right here in the morning. >> If you would have asked for the crib, she would have stayed in a crib, >> right? >> She would have cried the whole time. She wanted to be with me. But [music] she hasn't tried almost falling off and stuff. And I was tired the other night and I did sleep at night time, not during the day or anything. Not not or anything. There's like you said, there's a camera. Let's watch it. >> And also, why why was she brought in today? I mean on the 21st. on the on the what? >> 24th. >> Um she came in because um they told me it was bronchulitis. >> Why? Why? How did she get bronchulitis? >> Huh? >> How did she get it? >> My son goes to daycare. Um well, this is what I how she got it. My son goes to daycare and he's had like a cough for like a whole like month or two straight. I don't know how she got it. They didn't tell me how she got it. But that's my theory of it. What? Mhm. And then also because um my what they were telling me that I had to send over my daughter to my grandma um power of attorney for like the first 6 months or the year or whatever. So I did that whenever she was born. My grandma was supposed I don't know what they say. My grandma saying something else. I asked my grandma about it. Um the first 6 months I guess >> is she was on the bed. >> Whoever her dad is was on the floor. >> She was on the bed with all that stuff. So, whose bag was that that had the makeup in it? >> Huh? >> Was that your bag or was that his bag? Cuz it had >> both of our stuff is in it. >> Not just my stuff. Both our stuff was in both. >> And he was sitting. >> So, both. >> So, both. Right. >> Huh? >> So, both. >> Well, I don't want to get blamed for him, though. Like, that's >> He's going to have his time, too, though. It's not just you. It's [music] I'm interviewing you, not him at the moment. That's why I'm asking about about the >> cuz it kind of show who left it or who had it. >> You should really look at it. >> So that's the thing is we're trying to figure out who brought the inside the hospital. >> Him. I'm telling you right now. Him. >> So if it's both your bag. >> No, he brought it in. It was probably in his pocket. Just because my bag was up here and he was sitting up here with the baby and he put it down. Just cuz my bag is up here with my stuff. When you put it down next to my stuff doesn't mean that it came out of my bag. >> There's a camera right there. Like, >> please, let's review it, please. Cuz I know I know for a fact that there wasn't anything in that bag. You want to know how I know? Because at the bottom, check your bag before you come up. >> The security guard, we could go talk to him. He checked my bag so many times. My bags so many times, and there was nothing in it. And you don't have nothing in here right now? >> No. >> The nurses couldn't do their job with your daughter for the last 3 4 days cuz you didn't allow them to change her diaper or have somebody sit in here with her and you didn't let her have a crib. >> They didn't ask if they could change it. I said I would do it. I'm her mom. Of course, I would do her change her own diaper. So, I didn't know it was against the law. I didn't know. >> It's not against the law. It's just >> they want to make sure your daughter's doing okay. >> Uh-huh. And they took off oxygen and she's fine now. We're just waiting for >> Okay. So, just give me a second and I'm going to go outside over here. Okay. >> If you want to know where he's at, I could tell you guys where he's at right now. >> Okay. I'll get in here in a second. I have his name. Guys are a little glossy. Is that from the the pink stuff? What is it called? >> Methyl. >> Yeah. >> Why is methadone? I don't know what the side effects are. Whatever. >> Usually drowsiness. >> Damn. Me at a low dose right now. So, it's >> Do you take suboxin? >> Huh? >> Do you take suboxin? I'm on the subtotex program. >> The subtex? >> Mhm. >> How long how often do you take those? >> Um I take them whenever um like now I'm in pain. I took one yesterday and it made me feel so awful. >> So awful. >> Is there a reason why CFD is coming on Monday? >> Um because of well what they told me is because supposedly because of the whole um the baby not going to her appointments thing. That's what they said. But besides, honest to God, truth, I don't they don't tell me. >> So, you're supposed to take your baby to appointments. >> No, my grandma was supposed to cuz I signed over my um or when I had to my baby, you know how they make you sign like the I don't know if you know, but they make me mean sign up power of attorney >> for six to 6 months to a year and she's only a year and for she was still in 14 months. So that year, wasn't isn't she responsible? Could be here. >> So why do you have her now? >> Huh? >> How come you have her now? >> Why? Because my grandma's with my son right now. I don't have her. I'm I'm staying here with them. >> How come your How come your grandma's not here? >> Because she's with my son and my grandma's really My grandma's old. She has a cane. She has she has cancer and stuff like that. Like >> I don't think like she's sick. You know what I mean? She's a little bit overweight. Like >> she's the one that found. Okay. >> So, what's going on next? >> Check this out. Angel has schizophrenia. She has the child abuse charges. Um there was a lot of history with CFD. >> Oh no. >> Yeah. It's >> Oh, no. >> Grandma. >> So, Angel lives with the grandma. >> Oh no. >> And she failed to tell us that. >> Oh no. >> Angel suffering from schizophrenia. She >> refuses to take care. >> Oh my god. Um, >> oh my god. >> Grandma lied and said that. >> It seems like a little bit of a lift, but it's >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. >> There's a lot. >> I told what I've been dealing with, dude. >> They said that cuz her older boy came in. I got points when they were switching off. So, she brought older boy. And when grandma came, um, older boy had like a gall like a big bump coming out of his head. And then the nurse asked like, "Well, what happened to your glove?" >> So, she didn't she didn't go through the process. And she tried to tell me that she didn't know the process because she already has guardianship over the other one. Oh, nice. >> That's what was in her left hand. She never let the baby go on the crib. The crib's been in there the whole time. >> Okay. >> She would let the baby fall in her arms. I told her that she needed to put the baby in the crib. >> Okay. >> Cuz I I was going to 15 her so she can come outside. Well, if that wasn't enough, something even bigger was about to happen. Something that shocked everyone present, especially the officer on duty who was handling the situation. >> Listen, CFP is here. They want to talk to you. Okay. You said your baby doesn't sleep in a crib. Look. And then the nurses are now that we're outside, the nurses are going to come. They're going to come do like the routine checks on her. Okay. Make sure that her oxygen's pretty good that she's breathing above 90. Do you have any other relatives besides Rita and besides being able to >> your aunt or your sister? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then Rita's what too? >> So what's going to happen is we're going to take custody then. Okay. >> My grandma. >> Um they did not pass. Okay. Is there anybody else? Um like I don't like I don't >> I asked her and she doesn't or does she have her own place? Does she >> Yeah, her boyfriend have their own place. >> I think they're going to try to keep her hair to one day. Baby girl. >> Perfect. >> So let me see if I can >> cuz her vitals are they're not too good. So the thing is is with her she didn't allow a sitter to help her change it >> unless she's going to >> Yeah. So she and then this I told her she needs to go in the crib and that's when she put went in the crib. >> See Miss Gonzalez, she still needs to be here till Monday. She's not ready to go home. Like I told you, I wasn't lying to you and I told you she needs to be she needs to stay here. Okay. >> Well, she was then told that the baby would no longer be staying with her and that child protective services would take over to ensure the baby's safety and care. >> I saw the video where he took out two pipes from your purse. So, what else? >> Don't play me as a fool cuz I already saw the video. I saw you throw it in the trash. >> The bangers? Yeah. Um, clear. I mean, not for the >> clear, right? Right. >> No. Um, the oil burners is for oil. >> You said clear. I know what clear is. >> Yeah. I don't do it. >> I've been on Ma'am. I've been on the street. >> I've been on the street long enough to know what clear is. >> Mhm. >> Okay. What is clear? Because I know what it is. >> And you just said it. >> You need to stop lying. I'm not trying to lie to you >> because there's a different issue that's going on right with your child. Your child should not be in here for more than two days at least. She's going to be in here for like 5 or 6 days. >> For what? >> She's not breathing well. >> But why? >> I don't know. This is your child. >> I know. >> You should be taking care of her. >> Mhm. >> She shouldn't be this sick. >> She's fine. >> She's not fine. >> Then why were they going to let her know she wasn't fine? Why did they need you to do their >> Because Chile found in her left hand >> in your room that you and your and that other guy were in here with >> I'm not saying that. I'm saying I'm saying why did they need you to tell them? You know what I mean? Why >> we This is our job, too. We handle >> I'm glad you did tell them, but I'm not saying anything like that. I'm saying why like >> we have to do what we have to do. All right, Miss Gonzalez, just come out here, okay? Just I need you to turn around. We're going to be detained now. Okay. >> Where are your scabs from? >> Burning. >> Why are you burning? >> Huh? >> Burns from what? >> Is there sit down? >> Actually, we're going to go to my unit. >> Enough of her lies. The officer finally decided to put handcuffs on her and escorted her to the patrol vehicle. But this arrest was not going to be an easy one. She resisted fiercely. Meanwhile, the poor little baby was still struggling to breathe properly. >> We're not doing nothing. >> You need to relax. We're trying to search you because if there's anything else at the jail, I don't want to put it in the CC. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> Let her do her job. >> I'm not >> cuz you're hiding. You're hiding stuff. >> No, I'm not. >> Yes, you are. >> She's hiding. It's all the way in there. >> Where is it? >> No, she is. >> Okay. >> Stop. What are you trying to do, dude? Nothing. >> She has something. >> You're going to get charged with possession if you don't give it to me right now. >> Where is it? Where is it? Where is it? >> Joe's going to find it. I'll tell him to do a strip search on you. >> Stop. Show me. Where is it? >> Stop. Don't do that. You >> just want to hold my flashlight, dude. >> No. >> Stop trying to look at my looking at your I'm trying to get whatever you're hiding. >> But I'm looking there. Stop. >> You must be falling down her pants. >> Stop. Take off my pants. Stop. Stop moving. >> Stop. Let me go. You got to take off my pants. >> What do you want me to do? You want to just wait to do a strip search at the >> al try and get rid of it somewhere. >> Stop moving before I put you on the floor. I've already told you enough. >> Stop. You're trying to put your hand on my pants. >> No, we're not. >> Cuz you are. >> We're trying. We're trying to find what's in your pants. >> No, >> cuz you have something. >> There's nothing that There's a thing in my pants. Stop it. It's up [snorts] to you. Yo, I'm going to get it. Go get it. Yeah. >> No. >> What's in your pants? Tell me what's >> in my pants, dude. >> Then why don't you let us search it? >> No. No. No. No. Stop. You can't take them down here. >> I'll rip these pants off of me. >> No, you can't. Gonzalez, >> is your body cam on? >> Oh, yeah. >> Sure is. >> Stop it. You can't take off my garden, guys. >> Miss Gonzalez, there's something go to the bathroom and take it off. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> Toilet time. >> Listen to me. time. >> Do you want to go to the bathroom and have an opportunity to take it out? >> Yes or no? >> You're going to get charged with it anyway. Do you want to go to the bathroom and take it out? >> We could do this the easy way or we could do it the hard way. It's up to you. >> Put my pants on. >> Put my pants on. No. >> You can't take my pants off. I have Dude, stop. Stop. >> No. >> Has to be in the front. >> Stop. Stop it, dude. Stop. >> It's got to be in the >> Stop. Go. >> Stop. Stop. Hey, you're putting your hand on my pants. Stop it. Stop putting your hand on my pants, dude. >> Don't get >> Stop PUTTING YOUR HAND ON MY PANTS. HEY, DUDE. Your hands are in my vagina. >> Yes, they are. Stop. Stop. You're hurting me. >> Stop. >> You going to let her bugger in your pants or not? >> Stop. >> Are you going to let her button up your pants? >> No. >> Okay, then. >> I'm going to button your pants. >> No. >> Stop. Okay. Go. >> Okay. >> You're hurting me. >> Yeah. Nobody's doing anything. >> Don't kick me. >> Where'd you find it at? >> Here, bro. >> Perfect. Hold on. >> You guys are hurting me. >> I'm not doing nothing to you. >> Ow. You're hurting me. Just >> don't kick or you're going to get charged. >> I'm not trying to kick. >> Don't do nothing. >> Something's falling. >> Yeah, something is falling. >> Stop it. Stop. >> Put your leg down. >> Put your damn leg down. >> No, dude. You're trying to be kidding me. >> Ow, you hit me. >> Yeah, I hit him. >> Ow. >> Stop. >> Ow. Ow. >> I'm using excessive force. STAY ON THE GROUND. >> STAY ON THE GROUND. >> STOP. >> You're biting and you're kicking. >> Stay on the ground. >> Ow. You're hurting me. I'm done. Oh my grandma. Ouch. >> What else is >> you guys are hurting me? No, dude. You're showing them my Stop. Please let go my ass. Stop it on my bed. You're touching me. Gross. You're gross. Stop it. >> Stop. >> Did she bite you? >> Yeah. >> Stop. >> She kicked you. >> She kicked you >> somebody. It might have been me. I don't >> Hold on. >> Get up. >> Get up. >> Get up. >> Hey guys, we need >> You punched me in the face. >> Cuz you bit her. >> Slapped me. >> Cuz you punched me. >> You bit her. your video. Did you punch me? >> I have my video. I slapped you twice. >> You punched me. >> You punched me >> cuz you bit her and you kicked her. >> I tried biting her. >> No, you did bite. >> Bite. No, I didn't. >> It's right here. You're going to sit right here. >> No, I don't want to sit. >> You're going to sit down. >> I don't want to sit. >> Miss Gonzalez, you're going to sit down. >> I don't want >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Where are my shoes? >> I don't know where your shoes are. In the end, the mother was charged with multiple serious offenses, including battery on a peace officer, two counts of battery on healthare workers, possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and child abuse. Officers confirmed that the [music] baby would stay in hospital custody until child protective services could arrange a safer placement. Both the mother and the grandmother were found unfit to care for the child. If you thought the last case was troubling, just wait till you see this next one. On April 8th, 2024 in Ohio, a routine traffic stop quickly escalated when officers discovered the driver, Britney, had a suspended license and an active theft warrant. Initially, she denied being herself, claiming to be her sister. But her story unraveled when her 10-year-old daughter casually revealed that they had just left Kohl's. As officers found clothing with tags and no receipts hidden in a backpack, the cracks in Britney's story deepened. What started as a simple traffic stop became a tense investigation into a possible theft with Britney's shifting explanations raising more questions than answers. Hello, I'm Officer Marusa Ammers Police Department. So, the reason I stopped you, I ran your plate. Um, your owner of the vehicle's coming back is suspended. Are you Britney by chance? >> No, I'm a sister. >> Who? Who are you? >> I'm a sister. >> Okay. Do you have your license on you? >> I do not. >> You do not? What's your name? >> Do you have like any form of ID on you? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Do you have a valid license or? >> Yeah. >> You do? Okay. What's your social security number? >> I don't have >> What? >> Do you know your social security number? >> No. Definitely not. >> So, where are you guys heading tonight? >> I'm taking your vacation. >> Okay. >> Okay. And how old are you? >> No. No. You. No. You. You're You're 25. Okay. Give me one second. My partner's coming. I'm going to check. She um the driver says she's 25 and that does not look like it. Uh doesn't know her social. I couldn't see the picture the BMP picture of the chick 51. So I just waited for you to back up. Back it up and I'm >> Yeah, appreciate it. >> That's not hurting. All right. That's not you. You're Britney. Okay. So, we're going to have you step out of the vehicle. All right. You're under arrest. put the phone down >> or give it to give it to your daughter. >> We'll we'll worry about her. She'll be fine. >> Okay. Honestly, that's the only reason we didn't want her. >> Okay, I get that. >> Yeah, I just didn't want her. >> All right, turn around. Put your hands behind your back. Do you have like any form of ID on you? >> Britney really tried to play it smart. She thought she could easily dodge the officers by giving them the wrong information. But it was not her lucky day, and now she was going to jail. But her bad luck streak wasn't over yet. Something that she could never imagine was just about to happen. >> Does she have somebody that can come pick her up? >> Yeah. >> What was that? >> Okay. You got anything in your pockets? I'm not going to like reach in or anything, but I don't know if they're going to launch you. They likely are. What can we Who who can pick her up? Do we need to take her back to the police department? She can get picked up by >> She can get picked up. I just have to call. >> Okay, we'll work on that. Yeah. Yeah. Let's make sure that they want you first. But in in the event, we'll we'll get her taken care of. Okay. >> Yes. >> Is there anything that you need besides your uh phone? Uh, you have a wallet or >> Yeah, I got uh there's my wallets in there and then my husband's your husband's wallet. >> Yeah, >> we'll get that. So, we'll go. >> All right, Britney. So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can abuse you guys for law right to talk to an attorney and have him or her present before any questioning if you wish. Do you understand these rights as I presented them to you? I do. Okay. >> All right. Take a seat in there. Is there anything illegal in your car? >> Okay. Would you be okay if we looked? >> Okay. Well, we're going to figure out something with your daughter. Okay. Um >> can I just make sure I know what's going on? >> Absolutely. I mean, that's your kid. >> Cuz that's the only reason that >> Okay. >> I didn't want I knew I had a warn out and I didn't want her to go. >> You do realize you did I mean you committed a offense there, right? >> Yeah, I get it. I get it. I just I didn't want my daughter. You know what I mean? >> I I I understand that. >> So, I'm sorry. And I'm sorry for that. >> Yeah. Who Who's that's your actual sister? Okay. >> Okay. >> Yep. She >> Yeah. I'm not going to lie. It was a major red flag when you said you didn't know your social security number. So, what we're going to do is uh if they do want her, we're just waiting to hear back on that. She'll hear uh any minute. Um, we'll take your daughter back to our station in the front lobby and we can pick her up there. >> Okay, I'll turn you back over to your daughter and I'll let you know for sure if they want her and then uh we'll we'll get that ball rolling. Okay. >> Okay. You're welcome. Yep. Here she is. >> She's Yeah, she has a warning. >> Yeah. >> I'll uh I'll start to for you. >> I appreciate it. Yeah. just radio 44 and um I'll uh >> you know let's just wait till make sure that they want to reverse afterwards I'll get her out around have her sit in the back of my car. >> Yeah. >> Um I'm at least going to I mean she lied to me so I would charge her. >> Yeah. Go ahead. You want to start your >> I don't know you going to do Dus or fire plates or you doing anything like that? >> Um she's suspended right? >> Yeah she is suspended. I hit her with a suspension I guess. Why don't you start on that? We'll put that ticket and uh >> I'll set up. We can either do the 90 turnaround or uh if it's easier for them to use the gas station up here. >> Okay. >> I'll get her. >> Britney only made things worse when she told the officer that she didn't remember her social security number and claimed to be 25. An obvious lie the officer didn't buy for a second. But as questionable as her answers were, they were nothing compared to what her 10year-old daughter was about to reveal. >> Okay. You You have no idea on you, though. >> I don't know if I use my wallet or not. >> Where's your wallet at? >> Okay. Could you see if her wallet's in her? >> I didn't ask yet. Yeah, I'm sure. Okay. >> Get it. >> Sweetie, I'll have you step out. Um, I'll take mom's phone. Can we grab her her wallet, too? Or >> take that for you. Which one's your phone? >> Hey, I'm just going to take you to your house with dad. That's all we're doing. So, I just got to have you go in my car. Mom's in a different car. Okay. >> What's that, baby? >> Oh, I'll get that for you. Absolutely. Yep. I just don't want you to get hit. So, you tell me what you need and uh we'll do that. So, this stuff is mom's. >> Yeah, I'll get you there. I'm sorry you got to go through this, but she's not going to be gone very long. I can go to court with the summons. Um, I got this for you. And then you do want her to have your phone or or you want your phone? >> I I want my phone. She can take my phone. >> Well, she can take this. Okay. >> Mom wants you to have this. But I will take her phone when you're done. >> And then you need the the truck or you need this. >> This. >> Do you need Do you need anything else out of here? Um, it's that bag, too. That's just clos. Where'd you guys go? >> Um, and that bag has a lot of snacks. >> Okay. Is there is there a receipt for any of this? >> No. >> Sweetie, um, give me her phone. >> What? >> This is my first. >> Okay. Did this Did this just come from? >> Um, this is from my house. >> Okay. So, this is this is already yours. >> Yeah. Take that. >> Okay. >> Like this bag or the >> No, this room. Just >> here. Just move over a little bit. I got to look through this real quick. Is that your inhaler? >> Yeah, I know. >> Okay. Okay. You doing okay right now? >> Okay. >> Clearly, Britney was having an incredibly unlucky day, and it was only getting worse. Officers had already decided to charge her with obstruction, but things took another turn when one of them tried to help her daughter gather her belongings and came across the very items Britney had just shoplifted, hidden in plain sight. >> You know, those are my favorite snacks, too. I'm sure I'm going to give you that. >> What else do you need? >> What's that, babe? >> Just those. Okay, let's do that right here. >> I'll tell you what. >> Just those two right there in that top. >> Okay, you got it. >> You're welcome. Anything else? No. >> Okay, let me uh >> Oh, yeah. My blanket. >> Your blanket. Here you go. All right. I I can help you carry some of this. >> Yeah, I got it. Here, we'll go back to that second car. Okay. And that's her that's mom's phone, right? >> Okay. Well, if you need anything, uh, I can still get it for you, but we'll get this stuff back. Go ahead and pop them in. Hold that or make sure that doesn't [snorts] talk down here for a second. >> Yeah. >> So, I was getting stuff for the daughter. >> Yeah. >> And all this stuff. >> Okay. >> So, I asked her, I said, "Is there a receipt for any of this?" She was reluctant, but she said no. She said no. So, they just came from Kohl's. So, I'm sure that this got swiped cuz there's no bag or anything. Um, I'm going to call Lorine real quick. >> Okay. >> I'm Did she Did we Miranda or No, >> I Miranda. >> Okay. Um, I'm just going to ask her about this stuff real quick. And >> I mean, she's even stolen property. >> Yeah, she has a drug history, too. So yeah, I I don't just come from it, too. But what was that? Yeah. Um, so there's this stuff like brand new. >> Yeah. Good catch on that. >> Well, I just uh I wanted to help that little girl out and get her stuff and Yeah. Like so. Do you want to ask her real quick? Um, I'll be with you. Okay. We'll see what Between Britney's record and her daughter's nervous behavior, it was clear something wasn't right, and the items they found likely didn't belong to them. So, officers turned to Britney for answers. But if they were hoping for the truth, they were probably expecting too much. All right, so we're helping your daughter get some stuff out of the car. There's a bunch of clothes with tags on them still. There's no bags. There's no receipt. Your daughter said you guys just got got back from Kohl's. >> What's What's up with that? >> Do you have a receipt? >> No bag or anything. That stuff would have came in. >> No. >> How did you pay for it? >> That stuff I got a while ago. I just got her makeup. I mean, have you guys got any reports or anything? I said, is there any reports or >> Well, I'm going to call I got to call now, but I mean, that just doesn't make any sense to me. >> Okay, no, I can steal it now. >> What is this original warrant for? >> Um, I don't even remember to be honest. It was a 2023 the court case of >> you have no idea what the original charges were? I believe it was for Seth. Honestly, apples. >> Do you see? >> I get it. I understand. >> Okay, but here's the thing. Here's what I have some trouble with, too. >> I This poor girl is upset because mom mom already lied. This car is getting towed. She just told me you guys came from Kohl's, which you're saying was just some makeup and stuff, but you only have a receipt for that. You just throw the receipt away as soon as you leave, as soon as you got the front door. That doesn't make sense to me. >> I'm sorry. I mean, I understand now what it looks like. >> So, when when did you buy it? >> Like last week. >> Last week. Yeah. >> And how did you how did you purchase it? >> So, would you have that transaction on your car on your phone? >> Like through your bank? >> Was it my step? >> What's that? >> With my step. >> She seems to always be an answer to it. So, we're going to call Kohl's and we're going to contact LPD and see if they had any. >> So, they're going to check. >> They'll check the cameras. So, I mean, >> we've already lied to us a bunch of times. So, >> any go through the rest of the car? Yeah, let's um let's put all this I don't know if the book bag's part of it, but that's certainly is. That makes no sense. No, you're with a 10-year-old daughter. Yep. >> I don't know. >> Let me grab Let me grab you some gloves. All right. You want gloves from your car or? >> Yeah, cuz she's got a drug history. So, >> yeah. [snorts] As expected, Britney wasn't ready to give in, and she definitely wasn't making things any easier for the officers. With her dodging questions and sticking to a shaky story, they knew they had to take matters into their own hands. And sure enough, they weren't about to walk away without getting to the bottom of it. >> Hey, Jeff. Uh, she's got hundreds of dollars worth of clothes. She says she bought them a few months ago. I had the daughter 10 years old. She said they just came from pull. So when I asked mom that, she said, "Well, I just got her some makeup. No receipts. Can't pull up the transaction on her card or anything." So I I I don't believe her. Um but the daughter said this this little girl said they just came from there, so we'll see if they had anything. Um you know, she already lied. the original warrant. I said she wouldn't even tell me what the original warrant was for and I finally got to it. It's for theft. I mean, but I'm trying to, you know, just nothing makes sense. She kind of has an answer to everything. So, I feel bad for the girl, but um yeah, it's probably like maybe I mean, some of these sweatshirts are 65 bucks. Um well, yeah, those are expensive, too. Like We're taking the stuff. >> I thought I was part of it. >> There's still a tag on. >> Yeah, I'll take that. More or more stuff. This look used or you know this looks brand new almost so it just kept changing. Yeah. Hey, real quick. I couldn't remember. Did you say you were Did you go in with mom or you just stayed in the car? Was that right before like you guys got pulled over? >> Okay, sweetie. Thank you. So, she'll be able to tell us. So, she stayed in the car. So, your description would be this female by herself, >> probably either with a book bag or a large black purse. >> She's saying that she was in there with her mother-in-law. >> No, she said her mother-in-law bought all that stuff that we just added up a few a few weeks ago. >> Oh, that doesn't make any sense. >> Yeah. >> Britney stuck to her story, insisting the clothes were old, but her daughter unknowingly called her out, confirming they had just been to Kohl's. At that point, the officers didn't need much more. With the time, date, and store in question, all that was left was to contact Kohl's. It was only a matter of time before the truth caught up with Britney. >> No receipt. >> Hello. >> What's your name? >> Britney. >> Britney. What's the last name? >> Okay. I'll just advise you of your rights. You do have the right to remain silent. Anything you say could be used against you in court. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be appointed to represent you for any questioning and court proceedings. You understand that? Okay. Can you walk me through what happened about how you got pulled over and how all this transpired? >> I was here on the highway. >> What's that? >> I was getting on the highway. >> Were you I guess our concern is about the clothes. What What's up with all the clothing? >> My clothes. Well, they're my clothes. Was he with you at some point today? So, if I go to Kohl's and I say, "Hey, did did a blonde girl with glasses just pay for all this stuff?" >> What are they going to tell me? >> That was not cuz I didn't get this. >> Where'd you get it? >> I got it from the other day. >> The Lorraine or the Eva? >> Lraine. I was like, >> you were just at Kohl's before this? >> Yeah. I didn't get those. I was right then. >> Okay. >> I already said that. >> You got makeup? >> Yes. Did your daughter go in with you or no? >> Yes. >> There's no bag. You don't [snorts] have a bag. I mean, like typically when you get checked out, they fold it up real nice, put it in a bag, a plastic Kohl's bag with a receipt. >> Well, I got those clothes days ago. And so >> So, you go buy the receipt for the makeup today? >> I don't know. >> And she went in with you? >> Yes, she did. >> That's weird. If you if you have a way to if you have some way to prove that all this stuff belongs to you, we'll give it back to you. But at at the present time, we suspect that it's [snorts] very likely that the stuff is stolen because of the way it's laid out in the car. It was all stuffed in that backpack. That's not a Kohl's bag. It all has the tag still on it. It's very clear that it's brand new clothing. Okay? So if it turns out to be stolen, you will be charged with receiving stolen property at a later time. >> Okay. >> So that's what you told me is that's all you want to say? >> Britney was officially charged with obstructing official business, driving under suspension, and having [music] expired plates. In court, she pleaded no contest to the obstruction and driving charges, while the expired plates charge resulted [music] in a guilty verdict. When all was said and done, she was ordered to pay $260 in fines and court costs. Last, but not least, a strange and truly horrifying call made to 911. What officers discovered next was something they didn't expect. On May 19th, 2022 in Akran, Ohio, police were called to check on a strange report made by a young girl at her school. She told staff that her aunt had a baby in a box at home, which raised serious concerns and led officers to investigate. When they got to the house, the family explained the situation. The baby was actually a miscarried fetus from 2 years earlier, kept in a small jewelry box as a memorial. >> [applause] >> Police department. >> Yes. >> Hello. Are you Tithe? >> Yes. >> Tiana. So, you have uh your niece Kennedy or is it or nephew Kennedy? >> Daughter. >> Is that your daughter? >> Yes. >> Okay. Yeah, I guess she went to school and said you have a baby in a box. >> Wait, what? >> Yeah. >> What? >> She told the school counselor that there's a baby in a box in the house. >> She She talking about my sister's baby [music] that she had a miscarriage. >> Is it like in an urn or something? >> You know, like a jewelry box. >> Yeah, but it's it's okay. >> Yeah. And she, my sister had it hanging up right here, but the kids was touching it, so she moved it. >> Okay. So, your sister had a miscarriage. >> Yes. >> Did the whole funeral service and it's like a memorial kind of box or she >> No, she I don't know why. She just put it in the box. I don't her I don't know. >> How old was How far along was she? >> She was only like >> four months. This this a Eddie talking about >> did she go to the the hospital when she had the miscarriage? >> No, I was there. >> So, okay. >> Yeah, they they Kennedy at the school talking about how I have a baby in >> or he said Auntie Titi >> have a baby in the >> Is that Is that your sister by TT? >> That's her dude right here. >> Okay. So, you guys had a miscarriage and you guys are just keeping the baby in like a memorial box. >> It's She was only about what? 3 months maybe. >> Okay. >> Yeah. It ain't nothing like >> like that. It's really like in a little box like >> Yeah. I mean, that 3 months are not very big. It's like >> Yeah. That's why she put it in like a little dirty. >> All right. Um >> I I I got to give my I'll give my sergeant a call. Let him know what's going on. But I I don't see I don't know what we would even do. >> Like if there's anything [music] to even be done like I mean >> Yeah. Like cuz y'all been dead >> about two years now. >> Two years now. >> Okay. I mean I I'll explain to you. I don't think there's not I don't think there's any need for us. The officers were understanding and [music] respectful, but still had to make sure everything was okay. They reassured the family there would be no legal trouble and suggested talking with the girl to help her better understand the sensitive situation. So, this gentleman here and his uh girlfriend, her sister had a miscarriage two years ago and they've been keeping the the baby in like a memorial box and that's what the girls talk about. Yeah, cuz that was the only thing cuz they did used to keep it right here on the fireplace. >> I guess they it was on the fireplace on display and then the kids were playing with it. So now they move. They're talking about So >> cuz at first they had it first they had it buried in the backyard. So >> what's that? >> I said at first they had it like buried in the backyard. The little jewelry box. >> Uhhuh. >> But [music] I don't I don't know why they >> Somebody dug it up. So just know >> okay >> well what second grade is that what >> they >> they just >> they say anything you know what I mean so >> yeah that's crazy I thought so >> all right well if there's anything else I'll come back and knock on the door >> okay >> but I don't think there will be >> okay >> okay >> yes >> all right thank you this world. Yes. Yes. >> Hi. So, I I know this is on >> this my sister on the phone. >> So, I I understand that this is probably emotional and everything else. We just need to see the box. >> See, but the we just opened the box. The baby got in the box. >> In the box. >> Okay. >> I know. We couldn't find >> I think the dog chew it up. Chewed [music] it up. >> Nuh-uh. >> Yeah. I broke that one like this. the baby's going through >> cuz that is the box the baby was in for sure >> cuz he he literally just brings it to me like look and open it and then I'm like what the hell? >> Okay. Okay. >> What's the matter? >> They wanted to see the proof of the baby. >> So essentially we just have to ensure that you know >> the baby didn't make it the full term. You know with with the the you know her going say that you guys have a baby in the box. We just have to ensure that it was not actual. >> That's that's understandable. >> So that it's obviously, you know, it is what it is and you know, we're defin I'm definitely sorry for your guys' loss. I know it's hard. So, and it it's something that probably doesn't want to be drugged up. So, we appreciate your cooperation and understanding [music] and maybe have a talk with your daughter when she comes home. >> Yeah, I'm going to have to. >> It had first been buried in [music] the backyard, but was later brought inside after neighborhood kids kept disturbing the site. The remains were no longer in the box, likely dug up by a dog, but the family showed pictures to explain everything. >> Show me the vote proof that I had a miscarriage. I mean, I'm going to >> No, no, no. You guys are okay. >> I about to say I got a picture >> like I mean again like I mean if you come out and it was a big old shoe box and like something like that then that' be a you know we might actually have to see it investigate >> and then that sort of thing. But, you know, obviously that's, you know, if it was in that's the box it was in. >> He said he got a picture. >> So, >> yeah, we got a picture. >> Cuz they cuz the baby was buried in the backyard at first and Eddie said somebody dug it up. >> Probably the dog. >> It was up. >> You guys have a dog. >> It was my brother's dog, but he just came and got his dog. >> I mean, yeah. I to be honest, it was probably the dog that dug it up. It probably smelled it and dug it up. What happened? >> Said the dog probably dug up the baby. >> What? >> The dog probably dug up the baby. >> I think that she was in my old phone. >> It's okay, man. It's >> I mean, if that's >> It really was in that box, though. >> I believe you guys. And I mean, obviously, no actual baby's going to fit in that box, >> right? You know what I mean? Like I mean we're going to use some I'm going to exercise some common sense on this. >> So I appreciate you guys' cooperation, your understanding, and again I know it's emotional and bringing up a lot of bad memories. So I appreciate it and hopefully you guys try and have a better day. And like I said, maybe just talk to your daughter, let her know that, you know, you might need to either we explain more or it's just something that, you know, we we we pray for and just leave it at that, >> right? cuz that's how I knew Titi's little baby was in the box. That's all they >> Okay. >> All right. Well, you guys have a good time. Hi. >> All right. Thank you. >> Sorry. >> No, you're fine. No worries. >> All righty. All right. I'm going to give him a call back and give a call. >> In the end, no charges were filed against anyone. [snorts] >> [music]
