Oh, I'm fighting me. All right. Okay. Officers arrived to find a woman aggressively reversing her car while another woman was half inside the open passenger door with three children in the back seat without seat belts. Oh, I'm fighting ME. ALL RIGHT. OKAY. WHY ARE YOU GRABBING ME? GRAB HER TOO. I'M PROTECTING MYSELF. YOU'RE LYING. >> OKAY, but you need to help I help getting out the car so we can figure out what's going on. I understand your kids are there. I understand you're trying to get away from your kids, but we're going to figure out what's going on. Okay? Okay. I I understand that. All right, we're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about I hear that. Okay, right here. Okay. Right here. You're being very compliant and I appreciate it. But I need to figure out what's going on on both sides, okay? Wait. Wait. No, I know, but I just need No, you're not. I just need to lock it. Yes. Okay. Tell me what's going on. Okay, so these are your kids? >> [laughter] >> Okay. So we got called here. Were you the one that called? Okay, so what happened? We got into it. I'm sorry. [clears throat] We got into it because I told her I wanted to leave and I wanted her out of my house. We are girlfriends and I had a protective order on her already, but we tried to get back cool and it didn't work out and I told her get out of my house and we share this car. So we were tussling over the car because she said she was going to call the police because I told her you're not taking the car because I have a handgun. And she said she said basically like you can't do [ __ ] I'm calling the police on you and I'm taking the keys. And she said whoever got the keys basically the police won't take you. Call the police on me for sleeping for me and my whole my whole my whole family for insurance money. Feel bad for her. She She originally has an EPO on you right now. No, I had it on her. Oh, no, yeah, but that's what I'm saying. I have There's not nothing there anymore, but I had it on her. Please can you let my mom come here? >> No, no, no. Yes, but I need Can you please call them and tell them to come get my kids? Where Where is your mom? She lives over on My mom lives on Russell Street. Please ask them to >> What? I understand and I will, but I need to know what started this. Why is she She's her friend, too. Okay, but what started this? Why does Because we broke up. Okay, so this this happened all today? Okay. >> It's been happening because she don't have nowhere to stay and last time I called the police on her and I tried to get her out of my house and I tried not to get her video footage. They told me illegally I couldn't do anything because I let her use my address. And they told me because this is her address they can't do anything, but I had to go to the women's protection center. Yep. And everything was cool. Okay. Please call my mom to come get my kids. Please. >> [laughter] >> I understand, but we got to figure out what happened when we pulled up. But do you understand this is domestic dispute? She don't have kids. Just hang in there, okay? Do you want me to call the police on your Facebook? >> [laughter] >> We're going to call your your mom to pick up the kids. Yeah, we'll get there. I don't want my kids to go through what I went through. They don't deserve it. Absolutely. You can take me, just my kids are in Well, nobody's saying we're taking you. We're trying to figure out what happened first. Yeah. Actually, right now I'm going to take you back to my car, though. Can you come this way? Uh wait, pause. Do you have anything on you, hon? No, ma'am. No? Okay, well, we're going to go and search you before I get you in the vehicle. Okay. Step in. Let me watch my You step that way. I don't have no bra no underwear on. I don't have Okay, we just got to pat you down. Sorry if you smell me. You're fine. You're fine. I'm married. You get it, you're home. Secondary unit This is how much I'm worth. 30-10 All right, let's talk about it. So, I'm just going to yeah, I'm going to let her know what happened real quick and then I'm not a fat [ __ ] please. You know what? I'm just >> have no reason to escape cuz I don't want to get in trouble, but can you please listen? I'm fat. Yeah, I can loosen them up and hold that. And then the last car she took Yeah, can you scootch your feet your knees that way? And then pop out this way. Yep, perfect. >> And then the last car she took was the black one here. And she got to talk to the police before I did cuz And I have popped our tires to the car because she's trying to take the car from me. Um so, she's saying that she just broke up with her girlfriend. Her girlfriend got mad. She They share the car and she got mad because they broke up. She wanted the car back. She tried driving off away with her kids and she just didn't want to let her drive away with the kids. Or with [snorts] the car. Okay. Um [clears throat] So, my female is saying that basically she woke her up with some started arguing. She was trying to leave, wanted the car. Wanted to leave. And she wouldn't let her. She was going to drive the car away. So, that's when they got into a physical altercation over the keys. She said she got punched and hit by her multiple times and then she came out. She was just trying to get the car back. That's why she was opening the door when she was trying to pull out. But she didn't mention anything like that. I haven't asked her about that, but she didn't state nothing that she didn't hit her or nothing. Okay, so it looks like my girl has a scratch right here for sure. Um I think with what we saw, we got enough for domestic just in general. And then I mean, what do I do with the kids in the back? Uh she said that we could call her mom. Okay. Are there any car seats or anything? Yeah. Do you have any Did you look? I don't think so. She was trying to pull away recklessly in a parking lot Mhm. with someone in the passenger door. Three kids in the back that are not restrained. >> Endangering their lives. So, I would be good with hitting her with that three times. Cuz who knows if she would stop if I wouldn't have pulled up right in front of her. >> Having these rights in mind, are you willing to talk to me and answer questions? Yes. Yeah, I do [clears throat] have a question. What's your question? When she called you guys, she said she was going to call the police on me and she said she was going to call DCFS on me. I've already went through this. I got the message and everything I sent to the judge all the threats she sent me. I felt bad for her and I let her come back and she was staying with him. And him and his sister got into it. And she put her out and I met her in Arizona and she don't have no family here. Our car's messed up, the heat doesn't halfway work. So, the only thing that I can do is put her out and I'm not going to do that to somebody that doesn't have nowhere to go. He doesn't have nowhere to go, so he's staying over there with the ex-girlfriend. He's on parole. I don't even know why he >> What? But what is your question about that? >> is like >> [clears throat] >> why is like why is my children involved here? They're back So, you I understand that, but your children are involved now because as we pulled up, we saw you driving away with her opening the door. >> Yes, because I was trying to leave with my kids. >> I understand, but that's endangering the lives of your children. >> I was trying to get me and my kids out of a situation. She was attacking me in my house. What I'm supposed to do? Stay there? No, but >> I was trying I understand where you could say it's wrong. >> Right. But I have children. I understand. >> a mom for My child is nine. I've never gotten in trouble until I met her. I grew up in the system. I never wanted to put my kids in jeopardy. So, I was trying to do the best thing I know because the last time I tried to get help and wait, I ended up going to jail. I had to run and go to the women's shelter because she threatened to shoot up my house with my kids in it. So, I was trying to get help. >> I have a question about today's incident. >> Yes. Okay. So, did you >> to hide. >> Okay. So, did you put your hands on her at all? She We were fighting each other over the car keys. We were tussling. >> Mhm. No real hits were thrown, but we were wrestling over the car keys because at the end of the day we both share the car. So, it's registered to both of us? It's registered to both of us. And I pay on the car because she has no money. Mhm. I pay for that. I have kids. Why would I let you take the only transportation from me? And I have children. I pay for this. We went to court for this. Where were you guys wrestling for the keys at? Inside my house. Okay. In my apartment. >> finally got the keys and then came to the car. >> to leave and she tackled me. She was chasing the house. I have a camera. I have a camera. In your house? >> No, outside my door. Okay. I ran and I grabbed my kids and I told my kids to go to the car. >> Mhm. And I ran and she tried to tackle me and fight me over the keys. So, I'm wrestling with her. And then she said, "Don't worry about it. You can have the keys. The police is going to come and the police are going to make you give She said the police are going to make me give the keys." Mhm. And I'm sorry. Well, I'm I'm dehydrated because I was having a night out with my friend and I had just got home and we was arguing because we broke up a couple of days ago and I was asking her what is she going to do or where is she going to go. And when did this Was this conversation all today, this morning? It Yeah, it Around this morning? Okay. But it's been an [snorts] ongoing thing for days. And like I said, our apartment's messed up. Mhm. So, in the end, if I do tell her to get out and she says she doesn't have nowhere to go, I will say, "Hey, you can use the car. But if I need anything and I need to use the car, too, I have children. If I need to go get groceries, if I need to do anything, I respect it for you to come and help me and give me a ride, but then we got into it and she was talking to me crazy. I'm like, "I'm not giving you anything because I've been paying on this car." I have. Okay. I paid for everything. This is my apartment. And the last time this happened, I asked the police to escort her out of my house when we first got into it and they told me legally, I told them to give me my keys and they told me legally there's nothing to do because I I let her use my address as a residence because we were together. And basically, they told me I couldn't do nothing about it because I let her use my address. So, if I tell somebody I want them to leave and give me back my property and get out of my house and I'm being told legally I can do nothing about it, what do you expect? And then she know the last time, the only thing that kept me out of trouble for real was my children. We're not there. And she tried to lie and the officers heard her and they said, "That's a lie." She even attacked my mom. Okay, so I got some questions. So, you said you got home this morning? Mhm. What time? Um 7:27? No, I would I don't have my phone, but if I could I have a I have a camera I don't know. An hour ago, 2 hours ago? I said about 2 hours ago, but I have a I would when I asked for my phone, I have a camera system. So, I can get >> 2 hours ago. Where were your kids at? They were asleep. Here? In my house. Yes. >> With her? Mhm? So, Mario was watching them? >> Mhm. Okay. So, and then you wake them right? She was asleep. What was Amari doing? You said your kids were sleeping. >> TV in the living room. Okay. Why'd you start arguing about the keys right there? No, we was arguing about the keys before we even came outside. I had left with the keys and my kids. >> I'm talking about inside the apartment. When you come home, your kids are sleeping and Amari's on the couch like >> with And I told her she could get out of my house. Okay. What what started the argument? We've been arguing for days because we broke up. Okay. And where were the keys at that point? I had them. I just got home. Okay. And then basically you wake up the kids up at this point? No. I guess the kids might have woke up when we were arguing. So, the kids wake up and then what happens? >> we were yelling and we were arguing. So, I'm pretty sure my kids would wake up before yelling. Okay. So, when the kids woke up, what happened? Well, when the kids woke up, we was already yelling and arguing about the keys. Okay. And then when did it become physical? When she tried to take them from me. Okay. And what did you do? >> She was wrestling We were wrestling. So, she approached you trying to take them? Yes, she was trying to take the keys from me. And you tried to get them back wrestling her? No, I was trying to keep her from taking them. Okay. So, she's claiming you punched her multiple times and scratched her. Okay. Wait. Wait. >> Is that true or not? That's that's not true. We were wrestling. She was pulling >> ever hit her? No, sir. She was pulling my hair and I was pulling her hair. But we were wrestling. Well, my hands is tough, but I had the keys right here in my hand. And she was grabbing me and she had me by my hair. So, my other hand, I grabbed her hair back. We were literally tussling over the keys because I wasn't trying to let her get the keys. Okay. Did she ever hit you, though? >> [snorts] >> I mean, elbows and all that stuff that happened as we were literally flipping and tussling over the keys. We were wrestling. Okay. So, and then you're able to keep the keys, I'm assuming. >> Mhm. And then And I tried to run out the house. I tried to run out the house. I I told my kids, I said, "Go I said, put y'all shoes So, when I look at this camera that's talking a lot, what's it going to show when you come out of that door? I'm running to the car and I'm trying to >> You're running to the car with three kids. >> Yes. I see my kids out first. Shuffle them in and what is she doing at this point? She's trying to get the keys from me. Okay. But I mean, why would she go to the passenger door if she's still trying to get the keys? >> Because she said, "Don't worry about it." She tried to jump in the car as I was taking off. I was trying to leave. Okay. She ran to the car and tried to open the door while I was trying to leave so she could jump in the car. On the passenger side. Yes. >> So, at what point did she end up >> We have a push to start. At what point did she end up on the driver side cuz when we pulled up, she was on the driver side. That's where she came back around. >> Oh, she did. That's when when I was trying to leave and I seen whoever was driving when they threw their lights, I had she ran up and I was trying to pull off and leave. And she was trying to hang on to the car. And then when I tried to leave, I seen whoever was driving, I seen them flash their lights. So, I threw the car into park because why the [ __ ] would I keep trying to drive and take off when the police [snorts] is right here and I had my kids in the car? I guess if there was such a struggle, why wouldn't why would she be the one calling the police here? She did. I'm trying >> the one basically >> Sir, I'm trying >> Something's not making sense. >> No, no, no. That's not true, sir. >> I mean, she called the police, right? You never called the police. >> No, I didn't have my phone. >> was multiple 911 hang-up calls to the police. >> didn't hang I didn't have the phone. She had We were Sir, can I finish? We were already tussling. So, what I'm saying she was obviously able to get her phone and call the police. She already had her phone. Okay. So, >> [snorts] >> right now How it started? Right now she has physical injury on her neck. I see visible scratches. I don't know I do not see any visible injuries on you. So, you are going to be going to jail for >> even have any nails to scratch her. >> jail for domestic battery as well as endangering life or health of a child. I did not I did This is not fair, bro. >> There's a couple reasons. One, you're trying to pull away in a car with a female >> was chasing And two, none of them are in any type of child restraints when they're small enough for them to need child restraints. Okay? As in a car seat. >> if I'm trying to get away while somebody is attacking me. >> And that's what court's for. But right now Okay? But I'm not We don't think it's reasonable that you do that with kids in the car. So, again, you could have been She called us. >> me that she was calling me the police and said Don't She said don't worry about it. Okay. When the police is When the police gets here they're going to make you give me the keys and [ __ ] you're getting in trouble. We'll talk to you in a second. She's going in and she's calling the police, okay? I don't care. Let me stop taking you. I did my ear and I TOLD YOU TO TAKE THEM OUT. CHURCH. >> [laughter and gasps] >> I was just trying to leave. That's not fair. I was trying to get away. I went through this already. I SHOULD HAVE KEPT THAT RESTRAINT ON. THIS [ __ ] IS not fair. I love my kids. I've been raising my kids on my own. They just been babies since they were babies. I've raised my kids Oh, did I give you my cups in? No, you should double them. 11 1 riding 2 1 female. Finish up with the number here and then you can talk to No, because you don't care what I have to say. I do care but >> No, because she I seen I hurt her. She's light skinned. I am dark. IT TAKES A LOT TO put bruises on me. That's not fair. Look at my hair. She pulled my hair out. That [ __ ] is not fair that because she has visible I told y'all we was tussling. I told y'all we was wrestling. I told y'all we had each other's hair. I told y'all we was wrestling. That [ __ ] is not fair because she is yellow. You can see anything on her. We were wrestling. And because you don't see nothing on me because she pulled my hair and I said that's what she did. I never lied to y'all. I have my kids. I called my mom and I'm going to let and I told my mom to come over here and help me and get my kids. I'll just give you a phone number for somebody else. >> Is there anything you want to say to her before she's going to leave with your kids? Yeah, you can come here. No, this is not fair. I went through No, I went through this already. I know that's how I don't know that's how I don't care because I'm ending up in another messed up situation. I'm tired. >> I know. I went to the women's refuge center because I was scared. She told me she The woman was arrested and charged with domestic battery, interfering with a domestic battery, and three counts of endangering the life of a child, then transported to jail.
