Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Crack it while you're pulling away from me. >> I mean, I know though. >> Girl, why are you getting mixed up with this stuff? You got a face sweat softball hoodie on. Do you play golf? >> No. My friends, >> no. >> Yes, it is. When somebody puts their hands on you like that, like it's a trigger for me. >> I'll be looking on you, boo. The stop may have started over something minor, following too closely in the rain. But now the situation is changing fast. The officer says he smells marijuana, and that immediately raises the stakes. What began as a simple traffic warning is suddenly turning into an investigation. And as we're about to see, this passenger has no idea that her night is about to get much worse. >> You got any weapons on you? Can I real quick? Huh? You ain't got no weapons on you. You got a medical card, huh? I smell a little bit of weed. It's not a huge deal, but I don't want you to laugh at me. Stand right here. You got anything on her? >> What's her last name? Tristan. What happened? >> Come back here. >> Take your hands out of your pocket for me. What's going on? >> You've been requested to get out of the vehicle. That's what's going on. >> I don't know what happened. Nobody tell me what happened or what? >> It'll be explained to you in just a few. >> What's her last name? She's going to get it or she going to go to jail. You don't even know who it is. That makes sense. Well, this is going to go about I'm going to make it as easy on y'all as it is. You know, y'all make it on me. So, you make it difficult on me, I promise you, I'm ain't going to help you out. I'm fixing to You have any ID on you at all? >> Okay. What's your last name? >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to explain it to you once and uh you refuse at that point, then you're going to go to jail. Okay. Um the car smells like weed. He doesn't have a medical marijuana card, so I'm fixing to search the car. >> That's not mine. >> It doesn't matter. So, so you can either provide your name or you can go to jail. It doesn't matter to me. What's your last name? What's your first name? I can actually show your ass black. >> Can you see? >> Nope. Not until you stop. >> I'm going to hurt your head. >> Yeah, that's not really the point. But you want to kill your ass. So >> I don't hurt. >> Stop it. They're like all gravity. >> Are you done running your mouth? Cuz I'm done listening. >> Have you ever been searched by female law enforcement before? >> No. >> Okay. >> I just [ __ ] who's confused. I'm confused. Well, I'm confused, too, because when my partner over here is asking you for information and you all of a sudden you start tensing up, pulling away from him, then we going to take that as action. Listen, he told me he told me you got a 39. >> Oh, 39. >> Oh, so you have a warrant? >> What's 39? >> You have a warrant. >> For what? >> I don't know. We about to find out. That's why I went to put hands on you and you decided you're going to act when you guys don't. I don't have to. >> No, I do not. You're being I don't know what your war is for, but you have a war. Yes, I can. And I did. I lawfully can. >> Yep. We lawfully can detain you until we figure out what the warrants for. So now you going to catch probably another charge for obstruction. >> Look at that. Showing your ass again. >> Yay. >> What's that? >> We're just ordering condos. I don't know. You tell me. I don't know what's >> I don't either. Why? >> Cuz we had to go hands on with you. >> I didn't know what the [ __ ] was going on. Doesn't >> matter though. >> You let us do our job and you don't end up face down on the ground. >> Well, I don't know where I'm being arrested for. I didn't even know that I'm wearing nothing. >> Well, okay. So, you do. So, until you know what's going on, because you know these handcuffs go on just as easy as they come off. >> Yes. So she has no idea what that warrant is. >> No, I don't have a warrant. I don't even know if that like I don't even know if that's hard to see. >> I don't know. >> I didn't even know her warrant. >> It was worth all that. Well, you >> Well, I didn't even know that's I don't ever get in trouble for years. Like I never get in trouble with nothing. So like it's my first thing ever getting like >> I guess you did it right. >> I'm in college. I'm in college. So like I don't know. >> How old are you? >> I'm 19. >> Okay. Well, I mean you got to go to jail now. Even if you didn't have a warrant, you still can't. >> Why? >> What do you mean? Why? >> Why? I don't. >> Cuz you you can't resist. >> But I didn't know. >> Police. Well, yeah. If he tells you to turn around, put your hands behind your back, we can detain you just on a plain smell of marijuana. >> Hey, just lean up against it. Okay. >> November. >> Yeah. So, two months a month and a half ago. What' you do? The only other thing I can think of is is whenever we were um the pot when I was I was looking at a villa at unless that >> Were you part of that fight with the dogs and all that was that >> you know I don't understand why I got that. I don't understand why I got that though. >> There was came out as an >> and apparently there's a bunch of dogs involved and then you were chasing after person and somebody chased that. >> No, I was just pull up. >> It was between you and Kayla. >> Huh? >> Kayla Hudson. >> No. >> Okay. Me and Lauren. I remember she was killing a dog and I pulled I pulled a dog off of her >> and she came at me and I came at her but nobody has on each other or nothing or nobody has anybody. >> Okay. >> So I don't get why I told that though. >> I don't know dear. I wasn't there. I heard about it but I wasn't there. >> What's going to happen? Like I was going to sit in jail for >> It's probably a It's a secondderee misdemeanor disorderly conduct. >> You have another misdemeanor >> for what? >> Obstruction. So on probation or some [ __ ] >> You won't even probably get probation for something like that. >> What happened? >> Yeah, you're going to jail now. Then you'll have a bond. You should have a bond proposal. And once you bond out, then you're good to go. >> But what if I can't bond out? Like I don't have money. >> You can hire a bondsman for 25%. But it's a minimum of 100 bucks. >> But I don't have my people's number. Like >> give We'll give your phone. >> Yeah. >> You'll get your phone. You'll get contacts. Yeah. >> Cuz like Okay. Yeah. My Wi-Fi. >> Is that your phone on the hood? That was Yeah. the one that Yeah. >> Okay. >> Now, the mood shifts completely. Just moments ago, Kayla was arguing, resisting, and desperately trying to understand why she was being arrested. But once reality starts sinking in, the questions become much more practical. How long will I be in jail? How do I contact my family? How do I get bonded out? It's amazing how quickly a confrontation can turn into a lesson and consequences. Got >> to crack it while you're pulling away from me. >> I mean, I don't know, though. Girl, why you getting mixed up with this stuff? You got a pace sweat softball hoodie on. Do you play softball for no one? Okay. >> All right. >> No, >> it's a trigger. Yes, it is. You put your hands on your hands on you. When somebody puts their hands on you like that like Yeah. It's a trigger for me, isn't it? >> Huh? >> What's on you, boo? Oh, thanks. Can >> Hey, can I can you get my mom's number from his phone? >> I'll ask him. >> Hey, can you come to my house and ask him to go to my house, please? >> I'll ask him. One sec. One sec. >> I just need my phone. >> I just need my phone. That's it. >> Hey, Tristan. >> There you go. You look great. >> I just need my uh phone. That's it. >> I got your phone. >> Uh, hold on. >> The problem? >> Yeah, your phone's somewhere. I I got to find it really quick. One sec. >> Hey, where's our phone at now? >> Can I figure you got you got to stop this mouse, man? What's your cord coming out for? Uh, I left the scene. I guess that's a mandatory 4 days. Florida Highway Patrol. I'm guessing I got to drop my car off. That's what I should have did. It's messing up. That's one of the reason why I left. >> Do you remember me from arresting you back in like 2017 back in the day when you were doing a bunch of shenanigans? Yeah. I just I got a drug called here and there, but I just What do you use? I smell weed. I smoke. >> I don't know how long you back, but they're messing with fentanyl and everything else down here and it's it's stupid. People don't know that they're doing fentanyl. That's the problem. They're they're mixing with all different sorts of [ __ ] So, Matt, you good with him? >> And that brings this chaotic encounter to its conclusion. A traffic stop that began over following another car too closely eventually uncovered an outstanding warrant and ended with an additional obstruction charge. The biggest takeaway? Sometimes the original reason police stop you isn't what determines how your night ends. It's what happens after the stop begins. So, what do you think? Could this entire situation have been avoided if everyone had simply stayed calm and cooperated? You >> get back in your car and get out of here, man. She got a phone in here somewhere. >> She does on a regular basis. >> I just started hang out with this. Kayla was charged with obstructing an officer as well as her warrant for disorderly conduct from a month and a half ago.
