Um, couldn't see through the tint window, don't know if anyone else is in there. We need to get up there and bust the window out. Make sure do you need a window breaker? Can I borrow you for a second? Can you make sure that you're off? Are you Whatever your policy is, it's off still. That's fine. Um, what was the nature of this? so it's a possible missing person. The driver here, I believe the driver, I didn't ID him I tried tried to stop him. Um, burnt his house down this morning. Okay. They're wanting a stop and investigate. Texas. Okay. And we just knew he was hitting flocks coming on from Oklahoma. and last hit in Oklahoma, I think. Okay. They updated us as I was behind the car. Okay. So, I got PC stopped it. Sure. Oh, yeah. Sure. For sure. And then where where was that initiated? It was 44 in big bend. Okay. So, then which way was here? Yeah. He came around the corner. He was already overturned and opened the door. Okay. I have an empty mag over there somewhere. Leave everything where it is. Leave. Don't move cars. Don't move anything. All right. All right, so, we're going to hang out for now. DCC's on the way. Yeah. You got any questions for me? Um, you got a wife or girlfriend? Fiance Go ahead and call her. Let her know you're all right. I'd call your dad. Let him know you're all right. Will do. Cuz they're going to hear about us on the news. So, just keep it short and simple. Okay. So, Trey, just come here, I'll just tell you the same thing. I mean, just keep your statements to yourself until DDCC talks to you. Okay. Don't mess with your guns. They may try to take them from you. I'm not real sure. Okay. You guys are good? Did he return fire? He started shooting. When I got out of the car and went to get my rifle out to clear the car, he popped up. I heard him yell to drop it. I turned. He was shooting. All right. So, so you boys hang out right here. Wait for DDC to get here. They'll direct you on what you we'll handle everything else. If you guys want to sit in the car, that's fine. Just don't have a bunch of dialogue. Okay. Okay. So, let's not talk about it, but thanks for having my back, dude. And getting here. Yeah. I had a feeling I don't know why, but like when he got behind him, I was like I don't know. I didn't feel right with you stopping by yourself. So, I was trying to get...That's all I'll say. Yep. You're good. I just know with her being potential missing person, I want to know if she actually was a missing person. Yeah, me too. All right, let me look at your vest, though. I swept you but... I really want to take it off right now. Really bad, to be honest with you. Yeah. Okay, it looks good. Hey, Uzi, you doing anything? Not really, what's up? Will you just like talk to me? Just like whatever. How are your kids doing, man? You know, they three of the four are actually doing good except my youngest one. He's sick. He's been home for the last two days. Oh, shoot. And in Missouri, but they went they went to school back down in Texas. Um but yeah, they're in school right now and loving it. I just came from that uh PGA thing and I was outside the whole day the whole Yeah, it's uh... Were you working just traffic? So, we're there. They they have their own private security like dealer that works traffic. We're just there in case uh let's say Lucas and Hunt like backs up and or some like crash happens right in the entrance way so we can just quickly run and clear it out and get going. But it's more of us just being there for the presence. So, I heard that's a good gig. It's fun. I love golf. So, I saw there's um a South African golfer So, saw him play. Your uncle's not up here? No, he's he's with LIV golf. What's that? It's like the competition for PGA Tour. Gotcha. They're trying to replace the PGA tour I don't really know what I'm allowed to do right now. I really want to not even tell them about it. I just want to talk to my family right now. Yeah. I don't want them to be worried about me. Do you think I can just call them and tell them I'm okay cuz they're pretty freaked out. I got taken off the phone pretty quick. I'm just going to ask Bart real quick. Hey, can I ask you a question real quick? Can I My parents I didn't really get to talk to you. Can I just I'm not going to tell them what happened. Can I just call them and tell them that I'm okay and kind of okay cuz I it was real brief. So yeah. Okay. Your your dad will have more knowledge about what you what you should do. So call him just tell him. I would just say you're involved in a shooting. You're okay and you can ask him to come. Okay. Um so I'm okay. I I want to let you know. Um we were involved in a shooting is all I I guess I've been advised to say. Um, so if you guys want to come up here, they said you can. Um, it's up to you. Dang it, there I go again. Um, but don't be worried about me. No, I know. I just don't want you guys to be worried about me. I promise we're okay. Okay. I'm gonna get you some water. Okay. Hey, you have the best resource that you need on that phone right now. Okay. Okay. Scene's secure? Yes. We can uh we can we can terminate the camera. Everybody terminate. He took somebody that I I think I really need in my life. Tonight, a young daughter remembers her mother after she says a violent relationship led to a deadly crash in St. Louis County. The crash came after a multi-state police pursuit days after her death. Family reached out to us saying the woman's 12-year-old daughter wanted to be a voice for her mother. A brave young woman. Our Justina Coronel sat down with her today. Justina is in studio. Justina, it is heartbreaking, but she is um just amazing for for doing this. Absolutely amazing. Probably in all my years of reporting, this is probably one of the most moving interviews I've done, and she told me after we wrapped up that it was so helpful for her to do this. Now, 12-year-old Demiah Miller felt like she needed to use that mic to share a message. I want everybody to know my mom as a really strong woman and a really kind soul. A daughter's devotion and dedication to Delisha Evans. 12-year-old Demaya Miller is her mother's voice and carries a message. I know she's watching me and she thinks that I am strong cuz I live through her and if she's strong, I know I can be strong, too. And that's what she showed days after her mom was killed in what she calls a domestic violence relationship. I believe he he did more than just break her things, but I believed he physically abused her once or twice. The seventh grader and her four-year-old sister were close with their mom. That's why last week's silence was strange. The last time I saw my mom was Wednesday night. They lived in Texas. A mom had just broken up with 33-year-old Ryan Phillips. However, Phillips was at their home on Thursday. Took her and her little sister to school, but the 12-year-old noticed red flags. Demaya would later learn her home was set on fire. Police believe Phillips was the suspect. That same night, the worst possible outcome. They told me that my mom was no longer alive and neither was he. Family reported Evans missing. Police identified the primary suspect as Phillips, who drove the two from Texas to their hometown of St. Louis. A police pursuit soon led to a car crash and an exchange of gunfire. I think that my mom was dead September 5th of 2024 and she was just pronounced dead September 6th. I think he killed her Thursday and I think Thursday afternoon and I think he lied about it to my face. At just 12 years old, she's advocating for domestic violence awareness and it's her strength sharing a message for mom. Don't take your mother's life or your family member's life for granted because you'll never know when is the last time that you'll speak that you'll speak to them or that you'll hear for them ever again. Police say this is still an active investigation in its early stages and the autopsies could determine cause of death. Demaya and her little sister will now live in St. Louis with their father. They lost everything after that fire.
