We're not going to be doing that. >> On August 14th, 2024, Joliet police officers responded to a call about a man acting aggressively toward juveniles in a residential neighborhood. An encounter that quickly spiraled out of control. According to Joliet police, officers found a 36-year-old man behaving erratically, shouting threats and racial slurs while children were nearby. Investigators say the suspect appeared intoxicated and became increasingly uncooperative as officers attempted to detain him. >> 11 North Draper. What's going on? >> Where you live at? Authorities say the man spat on officers and paramedics, forcing them to place a spit hood over his head. The suspect was transported to Silvercross Hospital, where officers say he spat on an emergency room doctor before being medically cleared and returned to police custody. The man was booked into Will County Jail, marking his second arrest since May.
