Someone took me by the neck and threw me into the band. >> clearly didn't happen. >> I hate [ __ ] Florida, police. I'm never going to end up in jail. The sheriff's office. Who are you? No, no, no, no. You guys are a disservice to this country. >> On January Palm Beach, Florida, a woman at a country bar and a story that contradicts itself on camera. On January 13th, 2024, Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies responded to Boone's Wild West Saloon on a reported assault. A woman claimed she had been grabbed by the neck and thrown into the band speaker setup. She had visible marks. She had a story. What she didn't have was the video. While deputies took her statement outside, staff and patrons in gave a completely different account. Security footage backed them up. According to witnesses, the woman had stumbled, fallen onto the stage on her own, and then pushed a member of the bachelorette party when she got back up. There is a pattern in these calls. The first person to dial 911 becomes the victim by default. Deputies know this. Their job is not to take the first story at face value. It's to find what the camera actually shows. The deputy showed her the footage. The person whose neck she claimed grabbed her had her back turned. The woman on the video made contact going down, not the other way around. The response to that was not an apology. It was more explanation. She spent several minutes reconstructing the physics of being pushed into a speaker, where the hand would land, how far back it would throw her. At a certain point, the deputy stopped arguing and just played the video again. The video did not change. This is where most people would go home. The investigation had concluded. No arrest was being made from the bar. No charges were being filed against the bachelorette party. Deputies told her the case was closed on that side. She was free to leave. >> Sheriff's office, what's going on? >> All right, so you see my neck? >> Okay, tell me what happened. >> So, I'm just in there dancing. I'm doing nothing and like out of nowhere, like I don't know. I Honestly, like I have no idea why, but there's a group of girls who are in like a they're in a bachelorette party. I mean I'm [laughter] just out there I'm dancing with another guy in here like I'm with him but I'm dancing with another guy in there. Yeah. And all of a sudden like they just grabbed me by the neck and like push me onto the band's speakers. So my lip is my lip is busted and my neck is like I don't know why I honestly I have no idea why I honestly have no idea why. >> Where are the where are the girls at? They're in the bar. Do you know who it was? >> Yeah it's it's the bachelorette party. >> They're in that corner over >> It's >> [laughter] >> my [ __ ] neck hurts so [ __ ] bad. >> It looks swollen. Send fire rescue in there. >> But you see my neck right cuz it hurts but I can't see it but like it feels like there's a it marked right down my neck and my lip is like They just took me and were like boom and like push me into the band. But no no not you but like me like they just like took me and like boom pushed me into the band I fell into the band speakers so the band will even be able to see that like any video is going to show them pushing me into I tried to help her say like hey can I get you to come off this floor because you're like really in a bad shape. >> Oh no the silver >> That's Amanda. >> Okay. >> That's the bachelorette that's whose party it is. >> I was like >> Okay I got the wrong cowboy hat. >> That that girl >> She's dancing and she >> She fell on the stage. >> She certainly did. >> And she sat there and kind of looked for a second And she sat there for a second kind of looked and then she pushed that girl the bachelorette into all of us and then that's when we were like well hold on a second wait a minute like no we're not going to do that. And then that's when the security came over and he kind of got her away. She's she's she's had alcohol with it. You know me, I'm not going to pretend I'm the innocent one cuz you know I'm not. But like I seriously walked away from it 2 weeks ago and then tonight after the stupid I really don't even know how she fell on the stage. Seriously, I don't know if someone pushed her but when she got back up she like pushed everybody. I just left. >> That's that's pretty much what we what the video shows. >> But even if you ask her husband he'll tell you like every time he brings her up. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> I saw her fall and the person who's back is to her. She actually bumped into her as she went down. >> And how did my lips how did my neck get shot? >> Ma'am, I don't know how that happened. >> Right, you don't know. >> Right. I'm just looking at seeing what the video shows me. This is the video evidence. This is it. This is what we go by. We got conflicting stories, we go by the video. >> so so just like miraculously my lip and my neck I got pushed. So I don't know what's showing on that video cuz I can't see it clearly but but someone took me by the neck and threw me into the band. >> Okay, that clearly didn't happen. >> Just just leave it alone. Obviously you they're regulars here that just leave it alone. The same thing. You know, they're not Where did this come from? Cuz she went back Where where where did this come from except if someone like grabbed me and like pushed me into the band? Like I'm telling you that I sat on the band speaker. Go ask the band. >> Ma'am, I can see that as well on the video. >> So how do you think that happened except somebody like grabbed That's a that's a That's a that's a Well, like I'm telling you like if you do this >> I can clearly see how you understand I understand I I someone >> So >> I got pushed. I got pushed like the the lip the hand went here into my lip into my into my face, right? Like >> Okay. >> and I got pushed into the band and I was like, "Yo, whoa, what's going on?" Like, "Whoa, whoa, whoa." >> How could you get pushed into the van band that way if you went into the band face first? >> No, no, no. I didn't go into the back. I went backwards. So, I'm >> Well, the >> So, the band is here, right? All right. All right. Take this. Take this. So, here's the band, right? Here's the band. I'm here dancing. You're there. Whoever like came at me like I'm I'm dancing like I'm I'm benign cuz I'm having a good time. I'm not >> Mhm. >> Listen. I lived in DC for 30 [ __ ] years. If I thought some [ __ ] was coming at me, I'd be ready to kick a bitch's ass. I'mma tell you right now. If I thought these girls were coming at me, I'm a DC [ __ ] [ __ ] I'd be ready to throw down, but I was in there having a good time not no fighting in me at all. I'm dancing, having a good time. The next thing I know like some girl has me like this and like I I fall back into the speaker of the band AND I'M LIKE, "YO, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA." CUZ LISTEN. >> grabbed you by the face and pushed you all the way back into the speaker? >> I mean, I'm not going to say all the way back cuz like the van is right here and I'm dancing by the band. So, all she had to do was push me a little bit and I'm in the band. So, it's not like she was like boom boom boom boom. I'm I'm right here by the band. So, all she had to do was like touch me and the next thing you know like I'm falling into the band cuz I'm right by the band, right? So, the band is right here. I'm right here by the band. So she touches me a little bit and I'm in the band, but like she touched me enough that she had my lip and my throat. Like she grabbed me right here and was like boom, that. Like look at my face. Like where does this come from and this except someone is like Think about it. Like take your hand and put your hand to me. >> He ain't going to do it. >> Where is Where But where is it going to go? My lip and my throat. Like the whole thing matches up to her grabbing my face. >> No, it doesn't actually. Cuz if someone's going to grab your face and I would say if somebody does grab your face, the reaction to a normal human is to chomp down on it. If something goes in your mouth, it's to bite down. Babe. >> I hate [ __ ] Florida police because like they just they don't like Florida police just don't like They don't understand. They They >> Hey sir, are you okay? >> I'm not okay. He got a message so >> What? >> You guys should probably go in the car if you're going to do that because if you keep hitting him while he's talking >> Ma'am, you keep hitting him, I'm locking your ass up. >> I'm I'm the one No, no. I'm the one that got abused tonight and you don't want to No, no, no. >> You just abused him in front of a law enforcement officer. >> Hey. Hey. Hey. We play around. Did that bother you? The way we fight and we play around and box, does that bother you? All right. All right. It didn't bother him. It didn't bother him. Okay? It didn't bother No, no, no, no. You back UP. BACK UP. NO, NO. YOU BACK UP. Back up. Back up. It didn't bother him. >> to save you right now and you should let him. >> He ain't saving me. He ain't He >> He wants you You're doing your best not to let him. >> Let's go. >> Let let let No, no, no. No, no, no, no. >> You're going to end up in jail. Let's go. >> I'm never going to end up in jail. >> Yes, you will. >> I'm never going to end up in jail. >> Please. >> I'm never going to end up in jail. I'm never going to end up in jail. >> Babe. >> I'm never going to end up in jail. >> Let's >> Please. Come on. >> I'm never going to end up in jail. >> Yes, you will. You don't stop. >> No, no, no, no. I'm never going to end up in jail. I'm never going to end up in jail. >> You don't leave now, disorderly intox, and you will go to jail. >> Oh, I I will leave. I will leave because you You are a disservice to this [ __ ] country. You're a disservice. Cool. A year? Cool. So, like So, like you can allow people to like abuse me at your place and I and I'm out for a year. >> Please. Come on. >> [ __ ] you all. [ __ ] West Palm [ __ ] Beach. The Sheriff's office. [ __ ] you all. No, no, no, no. You guys are a disservice to this country. No, no, no. Because like these girls These girls attacked me and you allowed it. You allowed it. You allowed it. You allowed it and you're cool with it. [ __ ] you all. [ __ ] you all. This is why the police get shot. You're the reason why the police get shot. >> Yep. I hope Because of people like you. >> I hope you get shot tonight. >> place. You hope what? Come on. >> Let's say it again. Say it again. Let's go. Say it again. Why don't you say it again? What's wrong? Did you Do you want to say something to me? Because you're over here literally telling me I hope somebody shoots you. That's called a threat. You want to go that far? I'm not threatening you. The whole place just heard you say it. I'm not the one. I can tell you that. I'm not the one. >> I am not threatening to do anything to you. >> get to your car. That's what you need to do. >> I'm not about to get this orderly car this Oh, boy. Listen, I am not threatening to do anything to y'all. >> All right, baby. Come on. >> I'm a lover, not a fighter. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I'm a lover, not a fighter. >> Get to the gym. Get to the gym. >> I'm already up here, baby. >> Go to work. Friday's weak. Go to the gym. >> Friday's weak. We hardly see your fat ass there. >> Go to the gym. Go to your mom's house. >> Okay, just let it go. >> Officer Tango 02, Victor Delta. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm done with that. We're not doing that. Ooh. >> You need to go get the truck or the car. >> Gorgeous, she's not getting out of it. >> I'm trying not to damage this truck. Sir, turn the truck off. >> I'm I'm I'm mad because like I'm leaving >> Ma'am, ma'am, we're past that point. You had the option to leave, you chose to exit the truck and caused more of a disturbance. Step out of the vehicle now. Do it now. >> I'm not going to jail. >> Ma'am, that was once. Can I ask you one more time? Step out of the vehicle. Do it now. >> She's seat belted. >> Babe, please come out of the I'm going to go in in a second. I'm going to get my >> All right. >> Babe, I don't want you to get yanked out. >> They're going to damage your truck >> Okay, ma'am. We're past the point of being polite and we're about to take that seat belt off of you right now. And then you're about to be escorted out of the vehicle. >> Can I have your badge? >> Can you Can you Can you please just let me go home? Can you please let me get out of the car? >> Out of the truck. Okay. That's fine. >> I'm going to >> Turn over. Turn over. Turn over. >> Hang on. >> Okay. Listen, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not >> not resisting. >> By you just deciding to lay there on the ground, that's resisting. >> Laying on the ground is resisting? >> Absolutely. >> Look at this way. >> Give me that arm, ma'am. There you go. >> She did not go home. She went to the parking lot, got into a truck with her companion, and announced she was leaving. The deputy agreed that was the correct decision. And then she got back out of the truck. What followed was six consecutive statements that she was never going to end up in jail. The deputy gave her the same answer each time. She escalated. She told the deputies they were a disservice to the country. Then it went further. Standing in the parking lot of a bar in front of a law enforcement officer in a running body cam, she said she hoped the officers would be shot. The deputy immediately challenged her to repeat it. She didn't. Instead, she declared herself a lover, not a fighter, and was told to go to her vehicle. Under Florida Statute 836.12, making a credible threat against a law enforcement officer is a third-degree felony carrying up to 5 years. Whether that threshold was met here is a question for prosecutors. What is not a question is that the deputy heard it, documented it, and the whole parking lot witnessed it. The bar issued her a 1-year trespass. She argued about that, too. Then she climbed back into the truck, the truck began to move, and deputies moved to stop it. She jumped back out and began screaming at them again. The deputy was clear. She had the option to leave. She chose to exit the vehicle and create a new disturbance. That choice ended the conversation. The deputy ordered her out of the truck. She said she was not going to jail. He asked one more time. She did not comply. Deputies removed her from the vehicle. She went limp on the ground. The deputy explained on camera directly to her that laying on the ground is resistance. Under Florida statute 843.82, resisting an officer without violence is a first-degree misdemeanor. You don't have to throw punches to resist. She was placed in handcuffs on the asphalt outside a bar in West Palm Beach. This is the moment she announced she was a lawyer. The deputy asked for her bar number. She said it didn't matter. It did not change anything about what was happening. She kept talking from the ground, demanding to go to court, insisting she had done nothing wrong. She was right that the original incident at the bar might not have resulted in any charge. That is not what she was being arrested for. She was charged with drunk and disorderly conduct under Florida statute 877.03. In Florida, that carries up to 60 days in jail and a fine of up to $500. It is not a felony. But it is the direct result of every choice she made after the deputy told her she was free to leave. The deputies get an A. They took a complaint seriously enough to investigate it properly, collected witness statements, reviewed security footage, and drew a conclusion based on evidence, not whoever called first. When the situation escalated in the parking lot, they warned her repeatedly, documented every step, and used minimal force to make the arrest. Under Graham versus Connor, officer conduct is judged on the facts known at the moment. Every decision here holds up. The saloon storyteller gets an F. The original claim was contradicted by multiple witnesses and security footage. When confronted with video, she escalated instead of de-escalating. She threatened officers on a live body cam, returned to a scene she had been told to leave, physically resisted extraction from a vehicle, and then announced her legal credentials while being handcuffed on the ground. There is a constitutional right to remain silent. She declined every opportunity to use it. If you want more body cam footage, the moment suspects don't expect to end up on camera, hit subscribe.
