morning the detective observed Corey a well-known high-end auto theft suspect entering a gray bmwx3 SUV after seeing Cory attempt to leave the area the detective attempts to initiate a traffic stop cop have a few cars back I'll uh initiate once I get behind them [Music] all right I'm going to attempt to 1050 on gray BMW for tag 02 Delta Echo whiskey Quebec driven by Cory Pi 55 and 19 [Music] my vehicle is failing a stop and eastbound on 22 I am breaking off I'm breaking off vehicle last SE eastbound on 22 from 55 Papa un's got it Cory begins to flee at a high rate of speed and the detective decides to terminate the pursuit many departments have strict policies against Pursuits unless the suspect post poses an immediate significant threat to Public Safety such as in cases involving violent crimes this decision prioritizes minimizing harm over immediate capture what Corey does not know is that the detectives came prepared and expected Corey to flee so a police helicopter was in the area on standby come on man [Music] while the helicopter followed Cory in the BMW he drove at a high rate of speed and was swerving across multiple Lanes causing several vehicles to stop their vehicle to prevent any type of accident while driving at a high rate of speed Cory lost control of the vehicle driving over a median and totaling the BMW which was a rental vehicle and valued at around $60,000 after crashing the vehicle Cory fled on foot which was observed by a police officer from a different department they're grabbing them they're grabbing them oh I he's up there as Cory fled from the scene of the crash the detective who attempted to initiate a traffic stop earlier is made aware of his current location from the helicopter above and intercepts the suspect as he
