Cross over. >> Hey, relax. Hey, >> relax. Get off. >> Relax. Hey. >> What began as a routine day at Orlando International Airport quickly turned into Kanger insisted she had been unfairly denied boarding and demanded answers. Moments later, the argument escalated beyond words when she crossed behind the Frontier Airlines ticket counter, forcing officers to >> Yeah. Just lay down. Why don't you want to reach on this side and come take on that screen? Girl, >> drop your jacket. Drop your jacket. >> I have a 20inut video and a lawyer. >> You're not supposed to reach. >> And she put her hand on me. >> I have a 20-minute video and a lawyer. >> Whatever video you have. >> I have a 20-minute video. >> It's okay. >> You breach bridge and you came over. You attacked me. >> Play again. Oh, >> now you're ahead. Now you're slapped up. >> Now you're slapped up. >> [ __ ] you talking about? >> Beat up. >> You would have got beat up, too. >> You would have got beat up, too. You would have beat up. >> Do you have ID and everything on you? >> It's in my purse. >> Give it to >> Yeah. >> Do you have ID and everything on you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where's your ID? >> It's in my purse. >> Okay. Do I have permission to go in your purse and grab your ID? >> Can I just get it? It's right here on the top. >> It's right here on top. >> Yeah. >> Give me just a minute and get another officer here and then we'll go through it all. Okay. >> Okay. Are you injured at all? >> Yeah, I should put their hands on me. >> Okay. Do you need an ambulance? >> But I have a press, too. And I have I have they're doing just doing this because I asked for a voucher because they made me miss my flight. All my stuff is on the flight. I have a 20-minute video of how they treated me. >> Okay. >> All I did was go back there and press the space bar on the computer. That's not illegal. >> They might be of her trespassing, but that's fair. >> Do you have any injuries? >> She hit me first. I don't want to >> I understand. I'm trying to ask if you need paramedics here. >> Oh, >> no. Okay. >> You have a lot of anxiety. >> Okay. >> You >> do I have anxiety? >> Yeah, cuz you're shaking four times. >> You know what? Four times. >> I'm completely fine. >> If I'm going into jail because she's pressing charges, can I press charges, too? Because she put her hands on me first and I have evidence. >> Yeah, we'll go through everything. Okay. You go by Answer. >> I go by Rua. >> By Rua? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Mr. Rula, are you from the state of Florida? >> No, sir. I was going home. >> Okay. >> They wouldn't let me go home. He was actually part of it. >> Say again. >> Can I get her name, please? >> How's it going? >> Good, sir. How are you? >> I'm well. >> So, I haven't investigated anything yet. I came over here and they were fighting. >> Her and messed up. >> Say again. >> My lipstick's messed up. >> No, it's fine. >> I'm not sure. Where did the other lady go? >> She's in the back. >> She's in the back. >> Because she put her hand. >> I have it on. I have my I have my lock. >> They were fighting rolling around on the ground when we got here. >> I wasn't rolling around. I was on top of the other. I can take you back to her if you want. Witness the witness. >> The witness just checked in and she's going that way. Do you want to talk to her? >> She's turning the corner right now. >> Yes, we need to talk to her. Can you take me to the back to see her? >> Thank you. >> You have cameras up here, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. How How long ago did this occur? >> I just walked in my ship. It just happened. >> Are you okay, young lady? >> No. [laughter] >> Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am, just calm down. >> It's okay, mommy. Come on. [laughter] >> I know. I know. I know. And you're going to press charges. >> Come on, mommy. Come on. [snorts] >> Mommy. I'll wait till she calms down a little bit before I ask her. Standing in the line. Beth, it's a pleasure. >> Nice to meet you. >> Are you a passenger or you employee? >> Passenger. >> Okay. Can Can we just Sure. Sure. >> Can you tell me what you witnessed? >> Sure. So, I didn't see the girl when I first walked up. Mhm. >> But I was standing like at the very front of the line. And then I heard I don't know if it was her or the other ticket agent telling her, "Ma'am, you can't be there. You have to move." And then like that woman there was was walking up to her and the girl just like kind of came over the counter at her and the swinging started and honestly I can't tell you who swung first. I'm sure there's video so I don't want to give any misleading information but then like she got her by the hair and they went down. >> Who got who by the hair? I the the young girl got the employee by the hair and she like had her and took her down by like the head and I jumped in because I was like, "Holy crap, they're on a conveyor belt." And I've actually I'm a flight nurse, so I've actually seen people lose their hands on these things. I [laughter] was like, "Oh my god, they have to get off the conveyor belt." And before like I could get up there, um the gentleman here kind of got in and was trying to get her off of her, but she still had her by the hair. So, I kind of jumped in and then got her fingers out of her hair and once they were separated, I got out. >> Okay. >> Like, I got to go. [laughter] >> This was occurring behind the counter. >> Behind the counter. >> You said on the belt? >> On the belt? Yeah. >> Super dangerous. >> You say that you don't know who threw the first punch. If a punch >> Yeah. I didn't see the first swing, but the girl was definitely behind the counter when it all started. Like, she was back there in the drawer or doing something back there. And the woman was telling her like, "You can't be back here. Leave that alone. Get on the other side." And I didn't hear what the young girl said back to her. But then by the time she got up there, you know, I was like, "Maybe I should another place." So that's why I didn't see like the initial like who swung cuz my first reaction was like, "Get out of here before the fight happens." But then the fight happened and I'm like, "Oh, someone's really going to get hurt on that conveyor belt." >> Okay. What time does your flight leave? >> Uh, my flight leaves I boarding starts at 6:16 and the flight leaves at 7:00. Okay. Do you think you have time to fill out a statement form for me? >> Sure. >> Okay. >> Yeah, because the one of the gentlemen out there said that he would walk me through security if it >> got close. >> Okay. All right. Let me see if I can get someone to bring a statement form over. >> Okay. >> Jeez. Hi. >> Paramedics, by the way. Okay. >> Check you out. Okay. >> Whatever happened, I'm sorry. I can tell you shook it up. >> We'll get him here and bring it back to you. Okay, dear. Okay. >> Well, we we'll get the paramedics here and come come check out. >> Better safe than sorry. You got some scratches. >> If if you can and when you want to tell me what you witness, tell me what happened there. Okay. >> She came over to which is um rebooking because she was >> she missed flight. My job is to rebook her. >> Now, when [snorts] you say she, are you speaking of the young female that the officers is with out there? Okay. Go ahead. So, um, I started to tell her that being that she's late and the only thing that I can do is rebook her for the next flight business class. She was there on time. >> You miss me. >> Okay. And then I went, >> as police separated everyone involved, investigators gathered, witness statements, reviewed body cam footage, and examined every available piece of evidence while the passenger claimed she acted in self-defense. Witnesses and employees described a very different sequence of events. >> She's late. She doesn't believe that she was um late for the flight. I'm trying to rebook her. She's being a whole lot bunch of attitude. She's taking uh videotaping me and you need to get it. You need to come over. >> Okay. >> He came over. She still had the phone in her hand and the supervisor told her, "Well, are you videotaping me?" She said, "Yes, but when you're done, you let me know." So, he went that way. Yeah. Can you go tell me to go and take a break? So, I went to the lady's home. I got came back home. She was still at my counter. I did not stop. I went towards my super. >> Just take your time. Take your time. >> What are we doing? She's still there. She's still recording. >> As I'm talking to her, >> okay, I think I got a >> her she alerted me that she jumped the French. She jumped over >> and and then when I turned, she was there and she had her camera on her screen, which is that's not for the public to see. >> So, by this time, she's behind the counter. >> Oh, yeah. Totally behind the counter. And uh and I ran to her. No, you can't do that. You cannot jump over. You got to go to the other side. You cannot take pictures of what we have. You cannot. That's when as I grabbed her and tried to put her on the other side. That's when she turned around. She slapped me. Well, I slapped her back. That's when we got into it. And then everybody came over and she had I think she has some she cut me there with her um I guess her ring. I don't know. >> Okay. I mean, I didn't see any weapon. >> Okay. >> So, just we just went at it now. >> Just prior to her slapping you. What led up to that? What happened? >> Uh, that I tried putting her on the other side, which is my dad. She's not supposed to jump over. >> Now, when you say tried putting her to the other side, explain to me what you did. >> Well, I had to grab her, but she wasn't going to go willingly. I had to grab her and push her to go to the other side. I mean, she didn't fall or anything. She didn't get a chance to fall cuz she immediately turned around and slapped me. >> Okay. >> All right. And this did this occur right where they have her right now in the area behind >> my counter. Yeah, my counter. >> Okay. All right. >> Independent witnesses had begun filling in the gaps, but many questions remained. Officers next turned to the employee at the center of the confrontation. >> How are you doing? >> Good. Good. Thanks. >> Now, were you the one who first saw the female behind the counter? And we the one that >> alerted her >> and then we then she walked over to me and she jumped on her little >> This is just like the beginning of it. >> She was already on this side. This is She didn't want to go. This is as much as we could get. >> Okay. >> So, we had somebody >> Who is this individual? >> Okay. >> Okay. When you notified her about the female being back, >> she was behind counter. Then when she walked over to her, the lady just grabbed her by the hair. >> Did you see the bottle? >> Did you see any punch? Anything between the two of them? >> The lady The lady jumped her first. >> What did she do? >> She grabbed her by the hand. >> Okay. So, you you didn't see a punch to the face or anything like that? >> I don't know who, but I got punched. >> Somebody swung. >> Okay. Well, I remember I'm over here trying to separate them. >> She still here. >> Mostly trying to get her off of this one and then he hold try to hold the other one. >> Each interview brought investigators closer to the truth, but one perspective remained. Officers now turned to Ansar for her account. >> So, does this mean I'm not getting another fight? >> Probably not. >> I'm going to go to jail. It's okay. I'm going to be this girl in there and she's going to protect me. This is like very embarrassing. Can I show you my evidence now? >> Not just yet. Give us one moment. We're going to have other officers. They come and they're going to look at all the evidence and everything for you. >> Can we look at those cameras, too? >> I am sure that >> those cameras >> airport will allow us to look at all. >> Am I banned from the airport? >> Just relax for a second. >> Are we saying anything about being banned? >> I have a video. >> Which one is too tight? >> This one. >> That one's too tight. >> Yeah, it's cutting me. See, look at my hand. So >> leave it like that. Don't move it up and down. >> But then it's stuck on my muscles. >> But this one could go up and down like this. Look, this one goes up and down. >> As long as I can get two fingers in for like super tight. >> So just don't don't move it up and down. Okay. >> It's I double locked it so it won't get any tighter on you. Okay. >> Is it supposed to hurt me? >> So when I came up a bunch of employees were in a gaggle mess. >> She was she was on the ground. like rolled around with one of the employees and the other employee was trying to get to her and >> I told her exactly what happened >> and then she smacked me after you after you got me. >> She smacked you >> while I was in your hands. You know that? >> What the heck? >> Well, I don't know if you actually allow what's going on. Allow going on, but she smacked me while you were holding me. >> Gotcha. I did not see that part. So, >> wow. Okay. >> I'm assuming we have access every single angle. >> Yes. Okay. >> Well, he's right now. The guy didn't have access, but I was talking. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink today? I've had a shot. >> Only one shot. >> Yeah. It doesn't really take a lot for me, though. >> Okay. >> I drink here, too. Everything's on camera from the entire time I came here for the time I'm bringing out. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Look at that. But why do I have to be handcuffed if I'm not touch? You're being detained. >> You're just being detained. That's all. >> I'm not going to attack anyone else. Just the lady that hit me. >> She hit me. >> I think that's the one in the back. She said no to paramedics. >> This is hurting me. >> Yes, ma'am. So, they're not built for comfort. It's once again, just bear with us a few more moments. Okay. If you The more you move it, the the worse. >> I don't want to go. >> I came around the corner and they were rolling around. I was like, "Oh, right here." It was It was right here. That lady said that she would jump me if she was here. That lady said she would jump me here. So if you come here against justice, >> make sure if they're getting a statement from me, we keep working the line. Okay. If you >> And make sure if anything that her statement goes against my video, that you guys know that you have to drop the charge. They need to move my lawyer. We need to >> let me call my law. >> Not at the moment. >> Okay. >> I have my own footage, too. So, are you denying my evidence or you guys going to check mine, too? >> You got your own footage? >> Yeah. >> You were recording with your phone? >> Where's your phone? >> Right there. >> You were recording on your phone while I've been telling everyone on that and it's all been on footage this whole time. It's still recording right in there. Right in there. >> Inside the green bag or the silver bag? >> Inside the silver bag. I have a footage. That's my footage right there. I do not mind if you look, but I would like to pull up the video and lock my own phone. >> You're in handcuffs, so we're not going to unlock you. I mean, it could be right here. Everyone could be able to see it and reach the phone. Take it from me whenever you want to. I'm in handcuffs, by the way. >> Yeah, we'll see. I say it was a lot of trouble. We can see what happened. >> Entire video. >> Okay. And as I'm going to tell you, I'm going to tell you again. I did not miss my flight. I was here on time. I bought business class, which is 147 on top of the frontier class, which means I have two bags. I get to sit in the front and I get to board early, right? They told me that they could not bring that up on me. And once it got rung up, they said, "Oh, well, you're late now." Okay, well, I was not late, but you still did not bring up my stuff, so now I need to get another flight. You cannot make charge me for another flight and try to make me have a flight tomorrow and not give me a voucher. That is completely illegal. >> I did. I I paid for my flight. You understand that, right? >> Can I continue? >> Continue to say what? >> Continue to say what I have what I have in front of me. >> Okay, but what about the voucher? >> Number one, there is no voucher when you miss this flight. Okay. I didn't miss my flight. I was here on time. You know what miss? You know the definition of miss. >> That's what I talked to. That's when she was like, "Yeah, I'm I'mma pull my power and I'm not going to get lost." >> You can zoom fast, too, if you want to. >> Like what? >> To the fight. >> They wouldn't let me on my flight. They said I didn't have any business, but I really Yes. >> I'll come back when you're done. Let me know when you're not recording. >> And he left too. That's the manager right there. By the way, the one that said he has the evidence of like her um of her me attacking her, by the way. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> Take your break. >> Said you could take your break right now while I'm in the middle. There's people in line and every He didn't want to help me. He cuz my attitude was too much for customer service. And then I went behind the thing after waiting 10 more minutes. And then attacked me and I hit her back. And now I'm about to go to jail cuz I defended myself. That's crazy. But it's okay. I got the video. I got lawyers. Nobody has the permission to delete that video off of my phone either. >> No, nobody's going to delete it. Okay, [ __ ] that completely out of pocket. Yeah, I had an attitude, but I don't deserve her to go to jail cuz put her hands on me. Like, be real, guys. >> A long time. >> A long time. A long time. Just being hella disrespectful to me. Like up, guys. Be for real. >> I tried. I tried as a B&B. And I'm also a little bit tasty, too. HEY, EXCUSE ME. EXCUSE ME. >> Hands on me. >> Yeah. So, we just hear the commotion, but we can't see. >> But that camera, you can see it. That camera look like one of those. >> I just wanted my footage viewed because I have evidence of them just like blantly disrespecting me. Me being disrespectful, too. But I'm the customer. You feel me? I'm I'm obviously out. I missed my flight. I'm like, you have experience of years of being able to deal with this. I should not have to go to jail because somebody put their hands on me. I'm defending myself, right? >> And if that if that's the case and you guys see that other video, allegedly, if you guys see the other video and this lady put her hands on me, I should not be able like as as a just person, as a police officer who's supposed to be >> Okay, >> this is they're viewing the other footage. Okay. >> They're only investigating. >> All right. I'm going to put your phone back in your purse. Your video is still there. Okay. >> Mhm. >> All right. What began with conflicting accounts had become an evidence-driven investigation with probable cause established. The case now moved from the airport to the legal process. >> All right. So, I'm going to have you lean forward for me. Okay. >> I know. I'm going to take it off for just a second. Bear with me here. >> That's his Awesome. >> This is yours or just the so much better. >> All right. You can scooch back for me. Okay. >> Okay. Who's making the decision? >> So, about what? >> If I'm going to jail or not. >> You're going to jail. >> But who's made that decision? >> The officer that's arresting you. >> Who's the arresting officer is what I'm asking. >> I don't know what his name is. I'm not sure which who's taking it, but they've viewed the footage and they've seen that you have they have PC to arrest you. I haven't I have not viewed the footage, so I can't speak to exactly what it is, but the they did view the footage and they have >> I think you should view the footage cuz I think everyone should view the footage together and we should take notes. Like that's exactly when she put her hands on me. >> There's no way they seen a footage of me just like stalking this lady or like putting my hands on this lady out of nowhere. Like I don't put my hands on people unless they hit me. >> Well, the watch it together though because I don't get to see this footage that they're seeing though. >> The footage will be saved. on the 15. >> I know, but I have to go to jail and then I have to like bond out and then I have to fight with my lawyer a year and a half later after I forgot about the incident and the justice system when we could just be just right now. >> We all go watch the video together. Like, let me post it on let me post it on my social media and be like, "Oh, who hit each other first?" And we'll see. Well, we'll do a vote. We'll do a poll. It'll only take 5 seconds. Um, and then she can take her phone with her and if you need to unlock it and write a number down for her when she gets to the jail, you can write on one of your pieces of paper cuz she can't turn her phone on when she gets in there. >> Okay. >> So, just write it on a piece of paper with the number she needs. Um, >> let me do that now before I forget. >> Yeah. >> I have like four. They're like all the top. >> And I talked to the boyfriend. Um, he's going to come pick this up. >> Okay. That's okay. >> Yes. She's she gave me her maturity. >> So, here. Which which number do you need from him? >> Okay. So, is this his number? Yeah, that's the number. >> Oh, that's all they have. >> Sorry. >> Call up 312 number. >> And then what I'm going to do is I'm gonna turn your phone off to save the battery. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Mhm. All right. All right. Stand here. Mhm. Okay. Nope. Stand. Nope. Normal. Stand normal. Okay. Spread your feet for me. Do you have anything on you that's going to stick me and poke me? Anything on you anywhere? >> No. >> Okay. You don't have a whole lot to search, so >> stay in school, kids. Okay. Wait, is this supposed right there? >> Yep. You sit right there. Side your feet in. Turn the side in. Okay. >> Can I put these up here though? You can put them more if you can. And then like can you like put them up here? No. No. >> After comparing the statements with the available evidence, officers determined they had probable cause to make an arrest. What started as a dispute over a missed flight ultimately ended with criminal charges proving that in investigations like this, evidence, not emotion, decides the outcome. Come.
