The suspect continued for approximately 1 hour and 9 minutes. 9 minutes. >> Colton, Colton, this is the Twin Falls Police >> The Twin Falls Police Department SWAT team arrived and entered the residence. The suspect then ran from the residence into the backyard along with two dogs. The SWAT team proceeded through the residence and into the backyard where they encountered the suspect and observed that he was holding a knife. This image is taken from police drone footage and has been enlarged. It shows the suspect holding a knife during the time that he is in the backyard with the SWAT team. Officers attempted to negotiate and gave the suspect repeated commands to drop the knife. During the encounter, officers directed the suspect to drop the knife. >> Colton, get your hands OUT OF YOUR POCKETS. GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF YOUR POCKETS. After crossing the fence, the suspect attempts to flee and a police canine was deployed to apprehend him. The canine approached the suspect. However, he was able to avoid apprehension as the canine attempted to engage him. The suspect then moved towards officers while still armed with the knife. An officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect. >> Jumping the fence, three times. >> Stop rushing the dog. Pull out.
