You know, there was a time where I was thinking about, you know, driving Uber, maybe doing some Door Dash, you know, no problem. You know, complete control of your schedule, work when you want, you know, do what you want, full autonomy, you're your own boss, you know, do whatever you want. But, uh, you know, I've got a lot of time on my hands these days and, uh, you know, I I kind of, you know, see videos from time to time about things that I'm interested in. And, uh, you know, for example, Uber here. Um, you know, hey, let's watch this video together and maybe you can see what I'm talking about. All right. So, let me cue this bad boy up. All right, here we go. >> All of the Door Dash and Uber Eats customers, if you go to my post that says Door Dash is going out of business, just look at the comments and see the type of people who deliver your food. The people who take up for stealing your food, spitting in your food, doing anything to your food if you don't tip, nothing at all. And if you don't tip, as much as they want you to tip, these people are so greedy when it comes to getting tips. It's insane. So, if you are tipping anything less than $10, some people are even asking for $20 tips just to make sure your food gets there in one piece, please check your food. Um, if these people are just go look in the comments, I mean, before they try to delete them or whatever. Absolutely insane. Absolutely lack of respect for others. They say if you don't tip, as much as they want you to tip, they're going to do something to your food. They're going to steal it. They're going to do something to it. And I just simply don't respect that. And you will see a lot of people in those comments switching what I said around making it seem like I'm saying don't tip at all. That's not what I'm saying. That's not what I said in that video. It's a lot of ignorance in those comments. Right. So what spitting in your food? I mean, when you think about it, um, go, you know, do they have food handlers permits or I mean, if you don't tip them enough, are they going to spit in spit in your food or drop it on the ground, pick it up? And I've actually seen videos where the Uber Eats driver spilled the food and they're literally I mean it was a shake, right? How disgusting. They're scooping the shake back into the cup. Damn. Could you imagine getting that slurping that up and God knows what's in it? I'm telling you customers to do is to check your if you do not tip at all or if you tip a little amount of money, check your food and make sure it is correct before you accept it, before you put those five stars on that review because these people most likely are doing something to your food and you just simply don't know. And it's so sad that we have to go to these drastic measures just to make sure we can eat, you know? But look, I'm starting a thing where I'm tipping in cash in person. So the person who gets my tip will deserve it because I'm not going to sit here and tip somebody who's going for spitting and stealing somebody's food because they feel like the customer should pay for their gas, the customer should pay for their miles. The >> man, that's crazy. It's just there too many mysteries involved. I don't know if you want to really trust that. Um I don't know. I don't know about you, but I'm not What happens when Uber says, "Okay, no more drivers. We're cutting drivers." What happens when they say, "We are cutting Uber Eats delivery people." People in this economy are too dependent on gig work. Uber Eats, Door Dash, other Postmates, other delivery services. these jobs that people heavily depend on. Once they're torn away, what will they do? We always think we have the ability to go make some money on the side. I'll just jump in the in the car, do some Uber rides, and come back. What happens when they say no more? And all you have is your job, or lack thereof, it's going to be a mess. So once that starts falling apart, I think we're really going to start seeing some pain in the economy. But listen, I don't know when that's going to happen. I think it's going to happen soon, eight months, nine months from now. But that's all I can say. What hap happens when Uber's >> Yeah. You know, I I've also heard from people that, you know, they'll be sitting around for a long period of time. They'll be sitting in their car for an hour chilling in the parking lot waiting for some some work. And there's there's it's just too up in the air, man. I mean, uh, I mean, you're going to get really damn good at playing Doodle Jump or whatever it is that you play on your phone, but you're not making any money. And that's why you're out there is to try and earn a little bit of bread, you know, so you can pay the bills. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. No. >> See that? That's what I'm talking about, man. What the hell is in that cup? It's half full. It's got brown things in there. What is that? Bugs. Oh, next >> even Instacart any of these like driving related services may have first where you're making 2530 an hour and then you might have kind of this drive spell 15 I got to pay for gas on top of this. It's a natural downward pressure on price because it's a skill that almost everybody has. There's only so much you can do to uh to differentiate yourself. You didn't instant car any of these, >> you know, and you got to think about maintenancing your car. Not only gas, but you got to do brakes, oil change, filters. I mean, what if a uh a belt breaks or the front end goes out or something else? I mean, you're talking about thousands, man. I mean, who knows? just too many variables. Uh, you know, not uh just doesn't seem very, you know, uh, I don't know, just doesn't seem very secure if you ask me. >> You know, everybody always talks about how like they were Door Dash and Uber Eats and they food never come on time, their food cold. And I'mma tell you why. I promise you it's because two things. Either you didn't tip or you're like or you're like or like the person that got your order. It's either you didn't tip a little bit at least or the the fair that Uber paid was terrible. for example, right? Let's say you didn't tip and you >> there's there's this uh tip culture thing where some cultures or some people I don't know they it's labeled as tip culture, right? But uh you know they feel like they don't need to tip. They're like you get paid by your company. Why should I have to tip? Well, you know, it's uh it's just a part of the job when you go to a restaurant. I mean, we all know that you should tip your waiter and waitresses. That's just common knowledge, common sense. I mean, here in America, you know, that's that's what we do. I I've heard in other countries, you know, they don't tip and whatnot, but you know, that that's how we do it in America. So, I don't know, man. You got to tip. You got to take care of people. I'm a firm believer of that. You know, I I feel like I'm a pretty good tipper. I used to work on tips, okay? I cattied. I I did things, you know, where, you know, I worked at golf courses, you know, and they'd come off the golf course, shine their club, and, you know, take care of them a little bit. And, you know, you'd want a tip. Okay. And uh you know so I understand relying on tips getting paid to you from you know the customers and whatnot. You know tip people man you you know who and when to tip. What I don't understand though is is you know tipping a a restaurant where you picked it up to go. I mean all they did was make it. I mean, there there's no add-on service after that. I mean, for some reason, I still give him a a couple of bucks. Um, you know, cuz I got, you know, something inside. He was like, you better tip that guy, you know. So, I do. And, uh, but for the most part, hey, you know, take care of your people, man. They're doing so doing hard work for you. They're going out of their way for you. Take care of I don't think there should be an Uber or a Door Dash or Uber Eats or any of that. I think that we should go back to cabs and cabies like people like >> remember when the cab company protested and they went on strike when Uber started taking off. You're taking our jobs. They took our jobs. Well, you know, it's uh come full uh circle now, hasn't it? >> They work for the cab company. >> Mhm. >> Um it's not just like civilians using their personal vehicles to taxi people. It has been dangerous. It's been deadly. Um, and like you don't even there there's no there's no training. There's no like it's it's a complete and utter like 100% risk, zero liability. >> That and that's interesting. There's there's no training for the job. You sign up for the app and they're like, "Great. Now go out there, get the food, deliver it, go out there, pick up the patron, take them where they need to go, and that's it, man. There's That's kind of interesting. No training. >> Like, can these people even drive? You don't know. You just they pulling up, you getting in the car, and just, you know, praying that it's not a psycho, praying that they can drive. like we we literally go and just put our lives in the hands of people that we have no idea who they are. We have no we don't know anything. >> And I I think we're hoping that like Uber has some sort of like vetting or something. They don't >> they don't they don't give a >> Is there a vetting process? >> Same thing with like Door Dash and um Uber Eats and stuff. just people that don't work for a company going into restaurants picking up your food. Again, we've seen, you know, people tampering with food, stealing food. >> That's a good point. There's no vetting. There's no background check. There's no drug test. Um I mean, he knows if they're they're high on whatever drugs. you know, as if they're drunk out there cruising around, picking up your food, giving you a ride to and from wherever you need to go. That's that's an interesting point that she brought up. I haven't heard that one yet. >> You know, putting the order down at the door, taking the picture, and then taking the food, like, you know, customers complaining that, you know, their food was eaten or, you know, or anything like that. Like you got customers that like get the food and then call and cancel cancel the order so they don't have to pay for it but they got the food. It's just too much nonsense. Like I don't have to all of it needs to go away. If you It needs to be like oldfashioned. You work for the pizza company, you deliver pizzas, you work for the cab company, you drive people around. There's an answering authority. There's a company that has liability. Uber is just like out there in the ether like you can't talk too many people, you know, and then we wonder why there's so much damn traffic because everybody is doing Uber and doing Door Dash and Uber Eats. >> Like this is I I think it all needs to go. I really hope that that all that like the Uber and all that I just I really hope that it it goes away. Um, the first time I ever even heard of Uber was working in a criminal courtroom and hearing that an Uber, we had a case. It's no longer the kind of work I do, but there was a case where an Uber driver actually had essayed um a woman uh who was um intoxicated who he was supposed to be taking home and he took advantage of the situation. First time I ever heard of Uber in my life. So, yeah. Uh I I think it's it's over. Like it needs to go. terrible. >> I really enjoy shopping and delivering for people. It's just the shady practices of these businesses is what makes it un enjoyable. And I just I have no good thing to say about those kind of for these businesses. Uber, Lyft, Instacart, Door Dash. I'm trying to remember all the names of from the people who were in my last video saying all the companies who do this. I their time has to come up. Their time has to come to an end. You should not think that you are so above natural law, thinking that you can keep doing shady business, crazy business models and practices and think that you're not going to get touched or you're not going to be impacted in a negative way or like your business will not fail because of your horrible practices. You should know it's going to come to an end. I'm hoping that byte-sight will not sell to anybody. I hope that byte will have a good business model and practice that do good by the customer, the business and the deliverers. >> Yeah. I mean, you got to do what's right for not only the customer but the employees too, man. You got to take care of your health. And you know, Uber and Door Dash, there's no supervisors cruising around making sure everyone's doing everything right. You know, you got that self autonomy thing going and you know, you're you're just out there uh on your own doing your thing. I mean, there there's no oversight. So, interesting point she brought up there. [laughter] >> I'm so sorry. We just had a hard time laughing right now. Oh, I can't stand this. It's never ending. Never. >> That's heartbreaking. >> I'm [laughter] sitting here trying to make money Door Dash and Uber. I pay my freaking bills and I'm behind on everything. I'm 56 years old and I don't get behind. I pay my freaking bills. >> This year, this past year has been so damn hard. And now I'm sitting here in McDonald's with this new car and it's about 6 months old. I put quite a few thousand miles on it because of the Door Dash and Uber [snorts] cuz I can't get hired on anywhere. I've been everywhere looking for a damn job and all the young people get me beat out on that. >> So I have to resort to doing something. So I work every day doing a dashing over and Amazon flex in my car. Now it's broke down. It's it's running but it says the AC off temperature. This is the second time this has happened. >> Poor lady. >> I just paid $300 and something dollars for my insurance yesterday. I have to pay more of my rent today cuz I'm counting on that. I have my car payment on Friday and I just I don't get enough money doing I been trying to sell my damn trailer for 6 months. I just lowered it from 3,000 to 2,000 today. I just have to get ahead. I got to get out of this that I'm in. I've never been so unhappy. It's so miserable. I can't deal with these. I just can't deal right now. >> That's right. I'm going be real about this and I don't care how anyone feels because it's literally a fact and I know that the Uber drivers and Door Dash drivers are going to have an uproar because of what I said. And even though it's the truth, like let God tell you himself at this point. You guys, not everyone, again, not everyone. I'm talking about the specific ones. You guys are absolutely disgusting with you guys' behavior and actions and attitude towards people who do not see money. What you need to be mad at is the fact that your own company that you work for does not give you a portion of what we pay out of the money that we pay to get the food from. Some of y'all lack common decency every >> again complaining about the money, man. You got to you got to take care of your health. You know, if you're a business owner, man, y'all know you got to take care of your health. Keep them around. Keep them working hard. Keep them fired up about doing a good job. So, I get it, man. >> Right now, we are seeing Uber drivers and other gig workers all across America going broke. The gas prices have surged far too high for most of them to make a profit. And in many cases, a lot of the ride share opportunities and things like that that come up are not even worth it anymore. This makes me wonder if we're even going to have a gig economy or Uber drivers in the next, say, 10 years or so. With all the automation, with all of the AI, and with how unprofitable driving for these programs has become, makes you question their future. Take a look at this. Here's an example of one driver where every time a ride pops up on his phone, he only has a few seconds to decide whether to accept it before another driver takes it, which shows you there's still a lot of competition. This is in the Los Angeles area, which I'm sure it's always going to be highly competitive there. Okay, so here's a couple of options that you might have as one of these drivers. One ride comes up that might pay only $7 for just a little over a mile ride. Sounds good, but it takes seven minutes just to get to the person that you want to go pick up. Another opportunity might come up where it's a little over $23 for a longer trip across town. That could take you an hour. Then you could get an airport run, for example, that could come up. And that's a little over a 13 mile trip, which in Los Angeles could take an unknown amount of time. You ever been to LA or dealt with LA traffic? It's completely unpredictable. And >> yeah, he brings up an excellent point. What about if you're in rush hour, man? You could be in gridlock out there, bumper to bumper, doing the whole slow and go thing, man. You could be out there forever delivering food and by the time you deliver that food, it's going to be cold. Customers are going to be all pissed off. He's going to give you a lousy tip. Everyone's all upset. The driver's upset for not getting paid. The customer's upset cuz he's got cold [clears throat] food. he's going to be, you know, there's no hotline to call into Door Dash or whatever to complain. So, everything is, you know, you got to type, you know, hey, I'm a little upset here. My food was uh slow to get here. Not only that is it was cold. So, man, this uh dude, this is this is rough, man. I see why these people are really upset. And one thing you know for sure is you're going to be sitting in it. So he ended up taking the airport trip. But the main reason he decided to take the airport trip is because of gas prices in LA right now. It's well over $6 a gallon for most people. That's completely changed how Uber drivers are looking at taking these different jobs. Every ride now requires a quick calculation. Not just what it pays, but also what it's going to cost to do the ride. Now, this guy is 61 years old driving for Uber, and he is working 60 hours a week doing this. And he says he typically earns between $1,000 to $1,500 per week. But his earnings have dropped by 25% because he now turns down the longer rides that burn too much fuel. Instead, he focuses on shorter trips, even if they pay less, just to be able to conserve gas. On top of that, he's trying to position himself strategically so that way when his trip is over, he ends up in a neighborhood where gas is still cheaper so he can fill up at a better price. There's a lot of things going on there just to be able to try to make some money doing this. And all these decisions need to be made on a split-second basis. Right now we are seeing Uber >> crazy crazy. Do you hear that guys? I mean again so gas is a major factor and if you're in California where gas is like six, seven bucks a gallon man even more. I could only imagine what the delivery cost would be in uh in the state of California. Thank goodness I'm not there. Uh, hey, let's let's check out uh let's check out some of these comments. This guy's got a good bit of, you know, likes and whatnot and a lot of views. Let's let's see what he's got in the comments. All right. So, listen folks, Door Dash and any job you use at your car main convenience for that job isn't worth it. The analyst never takes into account the dollar per mile for maintenance and wear and tear on your car. It's never worth it. Okay? You know, ride share was never meant to be a full-time job. Okay? You know, the best gig is a travel club. All right. Follow me, Veronica. Okay. Well, whatever. We're not talking about uh travel clubs. No one's going on no cruise or anything like that. All right, so Door Dasher for three years. The last two weeks have been my best ever. Okay, so this one's even positive. All right, so Uber undercuts taxi companies simply by doing it at a cost of their driver vehicles. Okay. Who they do, who they do not care about, an actual taxi company has to account for the cost of wear and tear on a vehicle. Uber gets a cut that Uber gets a cut that out gets to cut that out because when your vehicle breaks down, they will find another driver. So, personally, I cannot wait to see Uber go away. All right, so I mean, what are your thoughts, folks? Put them in the uh comments down below. I'd love to read them. I'd love to get your input and, you know, maybe uh touch on those com maybe touch on those comments at a later date. Until then, we'll catch you next time. See you later.
