August 13th, 2022, police were dispatched to a Key West, Florida gas station after a couple got into a nasty argument that turned into a bad altercation. >> What's up, Poss? >> What's up? >> What's up, man? >> All right. >> Already happened in uh you still have it on the thing about >> Yeah, man. That's pretty much all I'm here for, man. I'm just trying to figure out what happened. >> All right, so I know she punched me in the face three times, right? You know what I'm trying to tell you about? She beat me in the back. So, I bit her in the head. Oh, she was biting the [ __ ] out. >> So, wait, wait, wait. Say that again. >> All right. She punched me in the face about three times. >> When'd she do that? >> Oh, she was running. Okay. >> Trying to slow down. That's fine. Listen, I don't want to get in trouble. I'm not like honestly. No. >> So, this is all while she's driving. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Look, man. It's not about you being in trouble or her being in trouble, right? >> I'd rather be in trouble than home. >> But, but listen, boss. the way that I have to figure this out the way I got to do my job. I just got to know what happened. If we want to go the route, listen, let me just say this. If we want to go the route of not pursuing charges and stuff like that, we can go there, but I have to know exactly what happened because listen, but listen, this is important. >> Okay? I'm not a deputy. I'm Key West police. Okay? We do things a little differently. Okay? >> I take people to jail that don't tell me the truth. Yes, sir. >> Okay? So, when I speak to you, I need to make sure that's the same thing. That's what I'm saying. like bos told me. >> Okay. >> So, she punched me in the face about three times. >> So, and I'm trying to tell her to slow down. So, I go hit the I go hit the she driving. So, I go hit the thing. She bites me in the back. So, I bit in the hand. >> So, you bit her in the hand. >> Yeah, cuz she was biting me in the neck. I showed her. >> Okay. >> You never >> What about my hands? >> Okay. >> Listen. And you can see the ball from earlier. I jumped off the boat cuz he just ran to me and I won't see nothing my answer. >> I got you, man. >> You call the postcard, whatever you have to do. >> I'll take your word for it, man. >> Like all I want to do make a phone call so somebody can come and pick me up and she can get going. This is a 8 year old relationship, bro. Today it's my birthday. I brought her over here to a boat. >> Y'all been here for eight. Y'all been together for eight years. >> I brought her here today cuz it's my birthday. brought her. I paid $500 to wait on the move. Next, she disrespected me on the move. That's why I jumped off the mo. >> I got you. >> All right, ma'am. >> Yes. >> Uh, I'm officer SL police. So, listen. I just spoke to him. I got his understanding about what happened from him. Same thing I'm going to just ask you. Do you mind just telling me what happened today? >> We just got into an argument. He wanted to drive. He's intoxicated. I took >> Okay. >> So, because he couldn't drive, he was acting violent. He was acting violent. >> I don't want nobody to go to jail. >> I understand that. But I >> All I want to do is get hurt. >> Okay. But listen, same thing I told him is the same thing I'm going to tell you. I am not a Monro County deputy. All right. I am Key West police >> and I take people to jail that don't tell me the truth. >> Right. Right. So, I get what you're saying. You want to jump to conclusions about not taking anybody to jail. That's fine. We can go that route when we get there. But I need to know what happened. So, from start to finish, >> we got into an argument. He was starting to act violent and I stopped the car right there and I got off the car. >> You got off the car? >> Yeah. And I stood over there >> and I waited for him to get away from the car so I can get off. >> Okay. >> Because he was acting violent. >> How was he? >> And he jumped on my car. >> How was he acting violent? >> See my radio? >> Okay. I see his radio. Yep. >> He started punching my radio. >> Okay. And then what happened? And then he started he bit me >> and I bit him because he was biting me to try to get him off. >> Okay. So you just bit him. >> Yeah. >> That's it. >> Okay. What about the marks on his face? >> That's when he punched my radio. I hit him with >> Okay. Okay. All right. Can you just hang out for one second? All right. So, we're just waiting a couple more minutes just to get one more person here and then we're just both going to explain to y'all like what's going to happen. We're going to separate y'all. Um that kind of you guys already >> I just said that like y'all are going to be separated. All right. >> And we are separated. >> Yeah. Like but again I have to document this whole incident took place, man. So >> no, be honest. >> What you mean be honest? I'm being honest. >> No, no, I'm not saying that. I'm sorry. It came out wrong. Yeah. Wait, boss. >> Okay. >> I'm not not I wasn't trying to disrespect you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Again, I'm not that guy. >> No, no, no. I don't even know what guy you're talking about. >> The other guy that was here. >> No, no, no. >> I I don't I I don't mean to disrespect him. I'm sure he's a great deputy, but listen, I work for the city. Listen, >> we don't. And I'm not Poppy either. >> Oh, sorry. >> Okay, >> officer. >> Yes, sir. >> Whatever you need from me. >> All right. >> All right. I apologize. That's the way I >> Can I see your back where she bit you real quick? Oh, yeah, man. Hey, hold on. Hold on. Hold that back up. I'm going have to get photos of all her injuries. All right, you're good, man. >> All right, so we got a mutual domestic that went on. I'm on right now. Um, brother, you you don't got to do all that. Relax. You got to you just relax, man. Um, >> I hear you, but you're in Key West now, man. >> All right. So, you know, it's mutual. He's drunk. Um, okay. She said like he was being aggressive and she asked him to get out of the car. He got out of the car. They start arguing. He gets back from the car. You know, things get visible. His statement adds up with what happened a lot more. He's like, "Yeah, bro. She was hitting me cuz I was pissed off. I would be, you know, I was being aggressive and I don't hands on her, but he's got punch marks all over his face." So, when I talk to her, she's like, "Oh, well, he hit me. So, I bit him back." I'm like, "How'd he get how did he get Mark's face?" She goes, "Well, might have hit him." So, I think she's primary aggressor. So, I'm gonna end up taking her. And he's intoxicated. So, we're gonna have to tow the car. Okay. >> All right. So, >> uh I'm gonna put her have her step out first. We're going to watch him. She's going to go on my farm and then we'll explain to him what's going on. >> Okay. All right. All right. Give me a second. >> Ma'am, do you mind stepping out so I can get photos of you? Cuz I got to get photos of all your injuries. >> [clears throat] >> Can you hold your hands out like this? >> And where else did you get bit? You got bit here. Okay. Yeah. >> All right, ma'am. So, what I need you to do is turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> All right. >> Are you serious? >> Yes. Nope. >> Can I close the windows to my car? >> Yeah, we'll do all we'll do all that for you. We'll get any stuff you need want take with you. I imagine you want to take your phone with you cuz we're going to have to tow the car. He can't drive. >> Okay. >> Why am I getting arrested? because I determined you to be primary aggressive. >> Are you serious? >> Yes. >> You know, I've never been arrested before. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Do you have anything going anywhere? You don't have to hold him. >> Well, I have to hold you for other reasons. >> So, listen. Do you have any Hey, listen. Pay attention to me. I'm trying to stop you from catching a felony charge. So, pay attention to me, not him. All right? We're done playing around with this crap. >> Oh, I'm not playing. Listen. Do you have anything illegal on you? >> No. >> Any knives, guns, drugs, anything like that? Cuz if you bring it into the jail, it's a felony charge. >> I got nothing on. >> All right. So, listen. I'm not going to search you, search you, but I'm going to patch you down just with the back of my hand. Okay. Nothing in your pockets. Nothing like that. >> Okay. >> Have a seat in my car, please. >> I'll turn the AC on. I'll turn the AC up for you. >> And uh what property do you want from your car? You want your phone and your uh the keys? Okay. Your phone. Your phone. Your purse. You got it. >> And if I can get a case number, please. 36. >> All right. Did you already kind of >> I hadn't explained anything to him right now. >> Listen, boss. I appreciate you being honest with me. Okay. She was honest with me to a certain degree. She never brought up the wounds that got to your face. She admitted that you bit her. She bit you. Okay? You were honest with me from the get-go. And I could tell because you told me start to finish what happened. It almost matched up with everything that she said. So listen, I understand you said you don't want to pursue charges. That's your girl. I get all that. Look, look, boss, that's done. >> In the state of Florida, we don't got a choice. >> No, I don't care about that. You know what I'm saying? >> That's done. >> Yeah, >> that's disrespectful. >> What's that? >> I mean, she's disrespectful. That's done. Yeah. But and she was going to leave me here on my birthday with no phone, no nothing. >> All right. >> So, here's what we're going to happen. Uh, you've been drinking. It's not your car. So, listen. I'll do the I'll have one of these officers do that favor that you asked me for. We'll call someone from Miami to come get you. Um, uh, you have your phone in there? >> No, I don't have my phone. I have my pants. My phone. I dropped it in the water. >> Okay. So, you have no phone at all. All right. So, yeah, we can we can make something happen with that. But she's she's going to be going to jail for battery. Okay. Okay. I'm just letting you know, man. >> No. Hey, I don't care, bro. >> All right. >> Listen, she put her hands in my face. I jumped off a boat, so I wouldn't put my hands on her cuz my mother will kill me if I put my hands on a woman. She hit me with a bat 3 weeks ago, bro. But I don't call the police. You understand? >> Well, that's part of the problem, man. >> No, that's part of the problem. You know what's the problem? Toxic relationships. Excuse my friends. You understand? >> Mhm. >> So, you know what? It is what it is. Cuz she tried to get me in jail. Listen, that's what that's another thing I was going to say, man. Okay, this very easily could have gone one way or the other. If I if I was talking to her, okay, and everything matched up with what you told me, then I don't have enough PC to determine primary aggressor and y'all both could have been going to jail. >> No, I told you I would have to charge for her. But >> yeah, but it don't work like that, man. >> I was being honest with you, bro. I know. >> You know what the officer from before told me? >> Hey, you were honest with me. Just be honest with them. Yep. >> Cuz I have no reason to lie. >> I hear you, man. You're the one that realized like I didn't even see the the signs on my face. >> Yep. >> She went at me on my face and >> Where's 's where's your stuff at out of her car? >> They ended up charging her with battery. Do you think he'll take her back even though they clearly seem to have a very toxic relationship? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
