suspects are innocent until proven guilty enjoy the video on July 20th 2019 officers with the Houston Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance at a local hotel a female complainant had been struck in the head by a male suspect the suspect would be later identified as 31 year old kendria Edwards who has open warrants as of May 23 2023 for skipping out on court who would have thought you're the manager of the property okay what's going on man this dude bit her in the face okay and she can explain it to you and but you have did you just see what I didn't witness anything I was talking to another customer okay witness anything like I said I'm just a manager if you guys need like any kind of camera footage but I didn't see anything so come here man though can you step by my car she got punched okay man you know what happened what happened was this okay uh bottom line is we're staying up there they're right here below us and they were containing about you know noise [Music] okay and then he kept running his mouth told me all type of names and stuff like that and they said oh so I said my [ __ ] I could say that I said with the a it's like the slang term okay okay but then his he got his pregnant girlfriend or wife out there to start running her mouth and me and I told him that I don't know why he brought her out here pregnant women can go to jail too right and I told him and I said now it's like you're ganging up on me you know what I'm saying okay so the both of them were going like kind of antagonizing me okay and then I told I stood like my back this way because I don't want to turn around and get hit by her she because she took her shoes off you know what I'm saying and then after that so she act like she was gonna step in my face keep punched me in my eye but he had to use some kind of weapon because it would not have cut my eye like that okay man well we're gonna have Amber's gonna come and check yard because I don't want you to be touching it or doing any all that right do you have an idea with you um I can give you my ID okay I do but I don't know where it's in some of this stuff okay you need WID number I do do you know if that guy went inside I don't know if they left someone inside he probably walked away okay well what we can do the primary officer I'm the secondary so then when the primary officer comes over here we can go knock on the door and see if it's in there you know um if he's there if you're willing to press charges then you know we can process oh yeah yeah I have a person charges okay because I take medication for anxiety and things like that okay I mean I'm shaking I'm shaky now and everything like that and I have PTSD okay can you come over here because I know it's a little bit hot it is I'm my mouth is getting very dry and okay everything just just you don't have any weapons on you anything like that right no I don't okay just take a seat just take a seat you're not a wasted or anything like that it's just too hot so okay and I don't want people looking at you you know thank you the manager she'll tell you she asked her to get out I told her if she could give me time what's your last name have making noise right well no okay like because we stay above him yes and I have two boys right that are boys yes okay so they sometimes in the daytime want to make more noise right okay so the point being is that we were getting our stuff like the manager asked us to do so we can go find some rest of those days yes okay so then when I we were getting our stuff and he was sitting down there and he come by to his room I guess he thought I was saying something to him and I didn't say nothing to him I was talking to my kids okay because I was telling him we need to hurry up and go because the lady gave us more than enough time right so we got to hurry up and go so then he comes and he starts talking cat to me and threatening to hit me and all this stuff and then I was talking crap back to him like so yeah so he thought you were talking to him when he when when you when he was he wasn't talking to you right that's what you're saying he's thinking I'm talking [ __ ] to him and I told my kid I said hurry up and get the [ __ ] out of my way oh so you were telling you okay right so he thought he were talking about it he started going we go we were exchanging words okay after that then he went in and got his female his wife girlfriend whoever she is right okay she said she's pregnant so then I asked him why are you bringing her out here over nothing and I told him you know and he kept telling talking [ __ ] and talking [ __ ] to me and so I responded and I kept trying to get more stuff and like you know bringing it down and then he kept going how did how did um how did he look like he's a short black arm he's got short like how how tall my height or your height sir no that's okay I'm just telling you um he's like about this high he would say like five five probably he's taller than me okay five five how much he waits [Music] he's he's like he's like brown skin he's not really black black so brown skin uh tattoos any tattoos that's what I saw right here the chest what was what was he wearing he didn't have a shirt on no shirt that's what he said he said I took my shirt off so if I have to whoop your ass he threatened me okay so um no shirt and what kind of pant I mean bottoms I don't even remember you remember okay they might remember skinny he's like kind of like built like you like me no I'm muscular okay so here's the deal They're Gonna Come take a look at you I'm not a doctor I cannot tell you if you need stitches or not but oh just tell me get some super glue you can I'm in Alabama okay I don't every whiskey was the answer for everything really I don't know about that but um I don't want you to leave yet because the primary officer is going to come over here um I was just so close so I got here first you know so just have them check you out and all have been a problem and I haven't been the only person but you've been the only person playing I've talked to everyone else and I'm like man that's not my problem yeah so she's playing all the crazy stuff and just talking about friends and calling me all kind of [ __ ] and [ __ ] and all this other stuff my girl come to the door to see what's going on trying to tell me to come in the house she's a lady I told him I might get your girl but I'm like yeah she just kept coming at me yeah she's running up on her trying to hit her and stuff and when I hit her okay didn't hit her because she's my girl's pregnant right now yeah she was just standing here trying to get me to come in and she's just like running up she's [ __ ] yeah [ __ ] that's your hole right there that's your hole right there like bro like I just I just got off of work yeah aggressive [Music] [Music] okay so she so she came out your girl and that's when you hit her yeah like and she charged at her that's when I hit it before that I didn't do anything to it I was just standing there talking about and I said I'm like man get your foot okay I don't even know what's going on like did she hit you at all no I was sitting right here like she was running around because I jumped in between me and me and her like I'm here I'm my girl right now I'm standing here and you're me and the police that's the exact position and she comes from that way charged that and I stepped in between right now okay all right um all right man can you come over here real quick all right so uh you can be cool right so because because of what happened I have to detain you okay because you told me you hit her okay I still got to call DA's office especially because y'all live right above each other or below each other okay so I'm trying to entertain you all right you're gonna be cool okay all right you've been arrested before yes sir okay all right here all right like I said man you know you're just detained right now you can turn them like this yeah right now okay I don't I don't wanna I didn't want to do it over there in front of your kid because you've been respectful to me okay he ain't got nothing no weapons okay all right I'm just searching the outside up here [Music] yeah like I said dude just because her eyes all swollen shut you know but I'm gonna I'm gonna tell the D.A you're you're side of the story too okay so it's not gonna be like a one-sided affair s here you go man okay so what happened he was arguing with her when he came from the store she said something in the first and I came outside to tell them to come in the house he came running towards me and I was like why like I'm pushing her like what are you doing yeah and he pushed her he didn't actually try to hit her just to be hitting her yeah and she got all upset all her kids was outside was trying to charge and me too okay all of them he kept telling her get your stuff and let's get in the car and stop saying stuff to him he didn't say nothing to you yeah probably him all the time his name called him [ __ ] and all that and I was pulling them in the house that's what she did a little crazy whatever I don't know what she was trying to do she was calling me out my name and I didn't say anything to her I got my son right here I didn't say anything to her all I kept saying was Babe come on let's go in the house don't worry about that yeah just go in the house because that's not your problem she got put out and she mad yeah it's not your problem and she was like it is his problem it is his problem because I'm the reason why he didn't read the law we got through that he the reason why we got people that I said no everybody over here was complaining about your kids you let your kids going freely around here and you don't come outside and you don't watch them yeah that's why you got put out it wasn't because of him you got put out because of your own reasons yeah she was trying to make it seem like it was him okay so um at what point did he hit her though well she ran in my face okay when she ran at your face how was she was she swinging at you was she okay she was swinging at you and that's uh that's whenever he hit her yeah okay uh did he keep hitting her after that one time he only hit up one time and that was it okay that was it he didn't hit her multiple times okay that was it okay all right uh do you have kids cussing and stuff and going back and forth so then he said man dude you better get your girl so I said all right so I was cleaning out the truck trying to load some stuff up so I told him I said hey y'all chill out man chill out chill out stop chill out I kept saying that like three times [Music] did you see by any chance that he had any kind of anything on his hands I didn't see because it's knuckles anywhere how you said uh I could look in there for brass knuckles there's no brass knuckles in there no weapons what about brass knuckles I don't have brass knuckles I don't have knives I don't have they don't have any any heavy metal objects metal no I don't have nothing sir sir are you wearing a ring or anything nope okay okay uh so I can look in your hotel for brass knuckles anything I know about masking can I look and see if there is any if you're saying there's not I mean there's you know it's not gonna be an issue right it's not okay so can I look just to make sure so harm her I didn't even yeah say anything to the lady like she charged unless she came out talking about how she would fight me and how she was fighting my girl and yeah we were [ __ ] and all this [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] doing all that crazy stuff was calling us [ __ ] and all that like nobody bothered that girl yeah I totally understand you know your point okay just got off of work and came home today yeah yeah I know I mean nothing nothing's worse than living with bad neighbors man so uh but I mean if you're saying that lady and the owners of this place I don't bother anybody I go to work and I come here and I don't think I hardly come out my room yes I'm going to the store to bring something back here yeah no I I totally get you man but all I gotta I gotta know if there's brass knuckles no brass knuckles okay so I can I look in your hotel room for the brass knuckles I can okay if I don't find any you know it you know because that makes it a different thing you know what I mean if you if you use brass knuckles so if there's if there's not everything's fine okay so I'm being completely honest one okay I don't have any type of weapons or anything in my room I don't want you to go in there because I have a little bit of marijuana because I smoke okay I don't care about it no no I'm just looking for if there's brass knuckles that's all oh look my room is 111. okay I don't have any weapons utilities normal utensils for cooking and stuff like that we have anyways okay all right dude that's all I'm looking for okay it's just brass knuckles all right I didn't want to sound disrespectful anything like that but the reason why I told you that is because we want to get get all the information we're trying to make sure everything is settled and then you want to add anything we did not say that he's going to jail man he's detained so we'll figure out what's going on who hit who the whole nine yards okay just because he's in cups and he's in the back doesn't mean he's going to jail it's just a tank okay we're holding it okay because he was involved in an incident okay it makes sense now yeah okay no not everyone goes and cuffs and goes behind is arrested he goes to kill okay all right man so I'm gonna go look at the video I didn't know there was video so I'm gonna look at the cameras okay so it's going to show everything that you're saying right about her being the aggressor and all that stuff yeah okay you're gonna see me out here back and forth from the other side of the story talking to him like bro about my girl and I'm just crazy listening to everything she's saying like just basically letting her curse me out and all that [ __ ] and then when she well my girl yeah okay I got you man um all right I'll be right back okay let me go look so the money in this pocket Yeah man so um I watched the video and I know she was saying some pretty hateful things but you know you got to take yourself out of the situation dude you know you can't sit sit out there and Pace back and forth getting more Angry you know what I mean and wait till something could happen so you can step in you know what I mean and then you're telling me that she was swinging on your girl like she was like she was like to me okay this is how it happened all right they did this they went okay so they were both like yeah she dropped her bag and yeah she was like doing this but your girl was kind of doing the same thing so that's whenever like don't run up on me like I'm pregnant like I'm not gonna fight you like don't run up on me okay well you know like she's pregnant like why are you eating out here trying to fight anyways but yeah nobody well anything to do with nothing like we didn't we don't bother nobody yeah man well you and your girl could have stayed inside that whole time man and just turn the volume up on y'all's radio you know I mean it doesn't help in there getting more mad you know what I mean like you're just making it you know making it worse for yourself you're not gonna be able to control yourself of course man yeah but uh no tell me how much but so you want this six dollars and two cents to go to your girl right now I can't pretty much I can't do anything with it she needs it more than me right now like she's here with my kid right now we don't have any money all right man okay yeah you should have a lighter over there or a Chapstick so you need your phone all right okay [Music] the whole situation but the problem the problem I understand but the problem is that he was putting himself in that situation by standing outside he could have went inside he had so many opportunities no at no point no okay so someone's talking mess to you what are you gonna stand there and take it he was talking to his her boyfriend outside after he stopped talking to her he was talking to her boyfriend okay well on the video it shows him just getting angrier and angrier and angrier it's just building up and for me I got stuff like I got I could lose if I saw somebody so and most people do yeah okay so you don't put yourself in a situation where you might end up having to fight somebody or defend somebody yeah baby come in the house that's when she started charging in me and I was like I don't even know okay but I'm telling you what the video showed okay the video shows him outside for like 30 minutes and then at one point he even took his shirt off so he took a shout out because he was hot he didn't take his shirt off okay but well okay well I'm telling you what it looks like it looks it doesn't look good because he's out there getting heated and getting more angry and he's huffing and puffing and I mean okay so you're just gonna be angry you shouldn't let her keep talking mess no you're either gonna you're either gonna do something about it or you're gonna take yourself out of the situation and he didn't take himself out of the situation okay no I don't know it takes eight hours process a
