Suddenly, this wasn't just about a homicide anymore. >> Cuz she called me earlier today. Sherri Howard. She drives the red car. >> Right. >> She called me earlier today. I'mma show you what she called me and I even texted her. I said, "I just left your house putting in the light >> Okay. >> and the back. Let me know if it's working correctly cuz she had a floodlight. So, I'm like I'm talking to her about that and I'm like, >> Roots on her sister like how? >> Like voodoo >> Oh, okay, okay. >> And I was like, "Yeah, you just got to continue got in God and you know, keep continuing on praying and everything else. So, she was going to she was somewhere dropping off a car at the time at a place I guess to get it fixed. And she was like, "Well, I'll call you back. Uh my ride's here." So, I'm like, "Okay. No problem." >> Right. >> I can show you why I've been calling her all day long because she never responded to my text messages with my floodlight in. >> Sure. >> And then my nephew just gave me a call a few minutes ago. He was like, "Auntie, did you hear about your client?" "Who yard you cut?" And I'm like, "What client are you talking about?" He said the uh >> Sorry, we're swamped now. And I was like, "You're playing. I was just over there changing out the floodlight today." But my nephew was like, "You know I don't know the lady. Why would I call you out of the blue?" >> yeah. >> So, I'm like, "Are you serious?" So, he was like, "Yeah, my mom just called me and told me that was your client." So, I get on the phone with my sister-in-law and my brother. They just told me they even just sent me the thing. >> Mhm. >> Like, "Get the [ __ ] out of here. I just cut this lady's yard today." She didn't say to get it fixed, but she said, "I'm here dropping my car off." And then but the the conversation was weird because she called me out of the blue and she said, "Can I talk to you?" And I was like, "Yes, ma'am. What's the problem?" And she said uh "I miss my mom." And she started crying. >> Mhm. >> And then, she went on to start talking about her sister. She was like, "You know, my sister's been sick and all this." Which >> Did she mention what her sister had or what was going on? >> She didn't tell me what she had or what was going on, but she mentioned the day that some guy had put voodoo on her sister. She was just speaking randomly. Just a bunch >> Exporadic. >> Yeah. Stuff that I wasn't asking for. She was just telling me the stuff. >> Are they known to like be aggressive with each other or >> See, I don't know that because I just met I just met the sister like I want to say 3 weeks to a month ago. >> Sure. Do you have any other statements you'd like to make, sir, as it regards to what conversation you guys had? >> If you need me to go to the police station, I'm willing to do whatever it takes. >> By the end of the investigation, detectives believed they knew who was responsible, but understanding why [music] proved far more difficult. Sherri was later charged with second-degree after police say she called 911 and admitted to killing her own sister. When officers entered the home, they found Sherri Lynn's body lying just inside the front door of the house the two sisters had shared for years, [music] and the case is still making its way through the courts.
