How's it going? Hey boss, they said they were having an issue with the check or something like that. Yeah. In there? Okay. I got to let you go, man. I'll I'll talk to you later. Said they closed your account or something like that? They closed my account. I don't have an account here, sir. Okay, then they just >> a cashier's check. Okay. Do you have your license with you? They took it. Okay. Give me a few minutes. I just want to send you a message, okay? Hey ma'am. Give us his license for two minutes. Thank you. >> [snorts] >> Where did you get the cashier's check from? It was mailed to me for Bitcoin. Oh, okay. So, were you just like sold some Bitcoin and then they sent you like a cashier's check for >> No, it's it's like a I just invested for them, basically. Okay. >> know about So, you're just investing the money for them? Yeah, and then I take like a very small cut for a fee. Okay. Yeah. So, they're saying they have an issue with the check, I guess. I'm not sure as to exactly what the issue is. I mean, this is obviously you. What's with the They asked for a social security number, too? They asked for two forms of ID, yeah. Interesting. I don't know. I've like I've done this a few times. They they they send uh They pay anyway. I use Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay. >> But cashier's check, you don't know? >> cashier's check, yeah. Cashier's check is more uncommon, but I don't know why. I just Yeah, it's whatever. But I've I've never I've never even been to this bank. I don't even know about what Seacoast is. I live 45 minutes north of Fort Myers. But it was just a Seacoast bank like >> Check, yeah. >> Check, okay. And I usually get like Bank of America or Wells Fargo or whatever that I just go, cash it, and I make the investment, and then I show them and everything. Everything's legit, and then that's it. And then I got this one, and I seen Suncoast or not Suncoast, it's Seacoast. It's like what the hell is Seacoast? I looked it up, and there's one all the way down here. And then I just I drove down here and that's it. I don't know. There's no other Seacoast branches around here or anything like that. There is though. No, it's the only one here. Okay. You just want to hang tight for the time being and then I'll come back with you. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. So, um so what we got is uh um three hours to check with weird off back cuz it says cashier's checks and and and regular accounts don't have cashier's check. Um so we did some we pulled this account up, couldn't pull it up. We linked it to this uh account. So we called this branch this account's based out of Winner uh Winner Park. And I called there. Here in Florida? Yeah. Yeah, we're only based in Florida. So um anyway, we called and talked to a senior client advisor who's the one that's actually the account uh the uh um person that handles that account. She's very familiar with the whole account. She set it up. She knows them very well. Said this definitely fraud. Um they closed this account a year ago for fraud. Um and honestly, I think this this guy's like oblivious. I don't think he he knows what's going on because I don't think he It's a possibility that cuz what he's explaining to me is that he normally gets like checks for like what he uh for his job and stuff like that. Normally just never a cashier's check before. He's like, all right, that works I guess. He saw that it was from Seacoast, came down all the way down here to see if he can cash it. So, I'm assuming it's 50. You said this account was closed about a year ago, right? >> Yeah. Due to fraud. Yeah, due to fraud. It got shut down. And so according to him is like he manages their accounts for them and since they don't have an understanding of how Bitcoin works, I suppose. And then he gets a small fee for how much depending on how much like they make through um his like basically like a broker to some extent. Um So, let me talk with him real quick. Um if I can are you able to like uh scan a copy of that for me if that's okay? Just the check itself and then I'll see you. I'm going to talk with the other officer over here. I'll go down there. Do you want to make a copy of this? I can make a copy. Yeah, [clears throat] that'd be perfect. Thank you. Okay, so who handed you that check or the cashier's check? You just received it via the mail? Okay. >> the package with the little mail slip on it. Where? It's in my car, the envelope. Okay. Yeah, we can just go ahead and grab that. You have your keys with you? Okay. That your That your car? Yeah. Okay, I got you. Sadly. No, no, I was just I was just curious. Just let me know. Well, you don't have anything in the car that's going to stick in your pocket? No, I don't. No? No. Okay. That's literally all it was. It just From Noah Matthew Morgan Oxford. >> That's me. That's the guy who sent you >> That's the guy. That's me. Okay. Just hop back inside for me. Like brand new like I We've never dealt with them before. I don't know. It's just a new customer and my boss was like, "Yeah, you're going to get Um he's going to ship you the cashier's check and he just said he wanted Bitcoin." Uh-huh. Okay. I I We usually use ATMs, Bitcoin ATMs. I Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yeah. Sorry about that. Thank you. Real quick, that account So, I'm trying to see. And I sure this is the person who sent Oh, that's who sent you? I don't know we have that person here. Um is that a signer on this account? Can I get a photo copy of that? Um I guess I could, right? That's easier than doing all of this. Yeah, you can probably do that. >> [laughter] >> I think we It's signed. So, that account is closed, you said, right? >> Yeah, a year ago. And it was closed for fraud. It was closed by the bank for fraud. So, these people probably got their account [snorts] compromised. They got like 20 accounts with us. Mhm. But uh this one was closed a year ago because it had someone, you know, So, it's a possibility the person who And he he didn't This is the first time in here. You've never seen him before or anything like that. >> been in here. And I think I honestly think just from the he's been hanging, cuz most people this took forever. This took us like 25-30 minutes to get to the bottom of this. And most times, um if they're involved with the way it's going, you know, they they they know something's up. So he's going to get on out of here? Yeah, he's just been like he's I mean we gave him a bottle of water, he took it easy. He's been super relaxed. I don't Okay. I honestly don't think that he's Yeah, it could be one of those things where the person who conducted fraud on this account went through with trying to purchase Bitcoin, sent him that money. Yeah, that's what >> Which is in a closed account. And Bigger they get, the better. >> to ask him and see if he had any like anything like money basically sent to the Bitcoin sent to these people, and this is like them paying them back for it. And then this is like a fake check that they sent him. Yeah, could be. And so How have you been in contact with Hm? How have you been contacting is through what? >> I don't know. Okay, so it's your Oz basically. Basically, yeah. Okay. Um do you have his number? I yeah. Okay. I do. Do you have his number? >> like crazy. Okay. What's his number? Zero. Yeah. And that's who's that? His name is uh Go. I can call him on here if you want to talk to him on here. No. The number you have dialed is not in service. If you feel you received this This is on WhatsApp. It's not like an actual thing, so maybe that's what it is. And maybe that's Have you ever met him in person? >> No. >> [laughter] >> No. Have you ever spoken with that person? No. No. No. It's It's just uh whatever amount of money, and then I go straight to a Bitcoin ATM, and I pay cash for the investment, and then it goes into a crypto account. >> long you been doing this? Um like 3 months, maybe. I think you could tell it seems a little sketchy. Of course it's It's dude. I got to do what I got to do to make money. I don't know what's legit or what's not. It's cryptocurrency, which I know about. I don't know what's legal or not legal about it, and it makes me a few bucks. That's all it is. I've been living out of that thing, which isn't even registered yet, cuz I can't afford to get to the DMV. Like, that's literally what it is. Yeah. Yeah. Literally all it is. I'm not even 20 yet. I'm trying to trying to get by here. He's probably not going to be honest, but can you at least ask him what his location is? He stopped reading my messages as soon as I said that. He stopped reading your message? Just send him one for me. >> I did. All right. How did you get into How did you get set up with this guy? That's a good question, actually. I don't actually remember. It might have been like a an ad somewhere for like investing. Like So, um this woman that I spoke with is part of the department. Um she's saying that the the check itself is counterfeit. It's counterfeit. Um that's what she's telling me. So, the check itself Yeah, it's counterfeit. That's what this Melissa Rodriguez is telling me. She's part of their fraud department for this uh for the bank. Okay. So, he's in possession of the check. He's attempted to cash it. He wasn't able to cash it. My understanding is like he has no knowledge of it. It could be one of those things where like that I mean quite possibly this might be the like it could be one of those things where but he's doesn't know what is going on. He's just trying to cash this check, basically, for someone else or his boss. And this could be one of those things where he doesn't know what he's doing or he doesn't know exactly what he's doing. By this time, pinpoint as to what the The check is confirmed. Yeah, that's what she told me it's confirmed, so. And so I I can almost guarantee you he Yeah, he reached out in some way probably and I wrote it down. I know. So, how did you get the check today? It was in my mailbox. Well, not my mailbox. I It's I've been staying at my friend's house in Brooklyn. I had him ship it there. Okay. But you've never spoken to this person? No. And you've never met the dude on the Right. >> No, >> do you get your cut? Do you take off the top? Yeah. And then you deposit the rest? >> boss. I I sent him I sent him a picture of the when I got it in the mail, you know, the check. I want to make sure everything's the same, all that stuff. >> And like and the money and then I and then I put it in the Bitcoin thing and then I send it to whatever account or his wallet, crypto wallet, whatever or the business wallet. I don't know what what I literally don't know anything else past that point. And that's it. Right. But obviously this does not appear to be a legal operation. I didn't care. I needed money. You know what I mean? I don't I don't really give a [ __ ] You know, I needed food on my table. I've been homeless for months cuz my mom kicked me out thanks to this. I got my mom scammed out of $15,000 and she kicked me out last year at the end of last year. I've been couch surfing the past 5 months and I just finally got a car last week for $500 because the front is and I can't afford to register it or anything, too. All right. You know, that's the I'm not trying to [ __ ] you guys. This is my story, dude. I'm low. I got it. And I do feel bad about that. >> twice last year for suicide. All right. Like, you know, it's not >> No, I'm going to need you to stand up, all right? Okay, can I get like an explanation at least exactly what is going on? >> All right. It's a possible fraudulent check, man. You tried It's a fraudulent check? >> Yes. It came back fraudulent? >> Yes. And to an account that is locked Yeah, it's been shut down for over a year. Over a year? Yes. Since March of uh '24. Awesome. So, I just messed myself on that one. Do you have anything on you that you're not supposed to have? Wallet and keys. That's it? Should be. All right. I'm grabbing your stuff up there. Back 19. Yeah. After you go. If I would have gotten arrested for something like this, I would have made it worth it for like Not a check that I'm making 50 bucks off of. This sucks. You want to hold him real quick? Yeah. Put his side in and watch your head for me, okay? I'm supposed to sit on the cuffs? What? Yeah, there's a little pocket there you see behind you? Oh. Yeah, you'll you'll be able to slide right into it. How do people do this in the movies? Ow. You got to like sit up straight to some extent and then just lower your hands as much as you can. Uh it's like I got to go there. Here, watch I want your knees real quick. I'm just going to have you.
