No, no, no, no, no, no. Wait. You're not going to talk to her? >> Yeah. >> No, no, no, no, no, no. That's not a good idea. Let me go talk to her and bring her out here. >> What transpired today? >> Today I just I woke up that realized she was trying to get her daddy. >> He needs a psychiatric eval. >> He's diagnosed with autism and ADHD. >> Want to write that out? >> It's schizophrenia. >> And you get to a point you're like, "Oh god, I don't want to marry someone who's bipolar one and untreated." >> Why would this mother think it was okay to leave investigators with more questions than answers about what happened to her own toddler? What's going on, man? You want to come over here to our car or do you want to stay there? What's going on between you and her? Let's figure that out first. >> Well, today's uh I took I said what' you say your story to what you >> I got you. What's going on between you and her today? What What's >> I tried to take her phone cuz I always said, "What did you say to your dad last night?" What you guys said to me? And I was like, "Laura, what did you say to I said words?" What words did you say? cuz what you said you police yesterday what she said she didn't say anything she said what' you say to the police to get them to come here last night >> police responded after a toddler was discovered in distress at a family swimming pool when officers arrived they found the child's mother holding the toddler as emergency crews rushed to help while investigators began working to determine exactly what had happened as they pieced together the timeline several troubling questions emerged >> there's six kids in the house right now. >> All right. >> How do you guys What What like What transpired today? >> Today I just I woke up that realized she was trying to get her dad to kill me. >> Who was trying to kill you? >> Laura was I asked her, "Did you tell your dad yesterday to get the police to come and she wouldn't tell?" >> The police came out here yesterday? >> Yes. I >> I talked to three different officers for multiple hour for like maybe 30 minutes. They did the whole test of me cuz what her she's telling them is that I'm on I am normal. Are you on any or any or anything like that? >> That's when I get away from I actually feel calmer talking to you than being around her as a person. >> I got you. Obviously, you know, you're >> it's I'm the So, we had CPS here two months ago and that kind of started my brain to kind of shake. >> Yeah. Just remain ju listen remain calm, okay? >> I just I'm worried about the kids. I'm not I'm not worried about the kids. >> I listen the kids are going to be safe, okay? We're here, okay? We're going to talk with her. When officers arrived, they found themselves caught between two very different stories. The husband claimed his wife was manipulating events and putting him in danger, while the wife told officers she felt threatened by her husband's recent behavior and believed he was experiencing a mental health crisis. >> So, it's not your fault. They put the wrong numeric. >> Hey. >> Hi. >> You know, please come in. >> How long you been living here for? >> 9 months. >> Nine months. Okay. And how many kids are there? six. Three of them are still sleeping. >> Okay. What is going on today? Why Why is he outside? What is going on? >> Yeah, my husband having a a psychotic break, unfortunately. I've never seen this before. And >> so, you called the fire department for him? >> No, I called 911. I have a friend who's had experience with um schizophrenic people. Yes, my husband attention for a psychotic break to schizophrenia. >> Okay. We just want to make sure what's going on regarding to the medical side so we can relay that message. >> Unfortunately, lost. >> So, no one needs no like getting injured. He needs a psych cuz he needs to know it because they're down the street waiting. So >> he needs a psychiatric evaluation. >> So what why are you saying that he needs to be I'm just asking what happened today? >> Well, it started a couple of weeks ago. He has work stress and work stress was bringing on a manic episode and that turned into paranoid delusions. Um he had a therapy appointment, an emergency therapy appointment on Monday. I thought that talk therapy would be enough, but um he's now that I'm going to kill him or >> he's on medication. >> No, he's just self-medicating with from the state. >> So, he's not prescribed. Has he does he see a doctor? >> Just a therapist. >> A therapist. >> And when did he see the therapist? >> Like I said, emergency meeting on Monday. His regular meetings last Friday. He supposed to have a talk therapy. >> And he's getting Is today different from any other day? >> Yes. >> And why is it different today? >> So, my parents caught in a welfare check. They live in Jupiter. They put on a welfare check last night and the police came last night and I told them that he just needs sleep and I did not feel threatened at that point but after that he was because you all have he's my dad is trying to get him and then that translates to I'm trying to get him this morning he took my phone he told me that he doesn't even work he doesn't have any he doesn't have any sick time or vacation time left. So, so is I don't know if you said this, uh, so forgive me if I'm if I didn't hear it, but is he diagnosed with anything medically? >> He's diagnosed with autism and ADHD. >> Write that out. >> Suspected schizophrenia. >> Okay. So, he's diagnosed with a autism. >> Autism and ADHD. >> Okay. [snorts] And is he schizophrenic? >> He's suspected schizophrenic. >> Okay. So, he's not diagnosed with it. >> He's not diagnosed schizophrenic. That's what I want a medical professional to have. >> Autism on right down. Okay. What? Can you spell his name, please? >> Nathan. N A T H A N. I love my husband very >> Okay. And what's his date of birth? >> 1983. >> The investigation soon expanded beyond the emergency itself and into the circumstances surrounding the home. >> So I did the three officers yesterday. We went down there and did the whole sariety test. Like yeah, she's crazy. And I wanted to wait and I said I woke up and I said, "God, I got to get your phone. I got to get her phone away from her cuz what is she saying to her dad?" Cuz he my paranoia. I woke up this morning just a feeling. He's brought he's brought a gun to my house before without asking me. he's kind of crazy and shouldn't have a so I said Laura today we have a discussion we need to get go to a get your dad's taken away from him >> and she said no I said Laura listen to me I feel threatened by your father having you've told me things in the past that indicate you shouldn't have I've witnessed things >> so that's what happened today as all has to do with her dad >> I asked I demanded that we get her dad's taken away cuz I feel threatened by >> okay >> 30 minutes away in um south >> so nothing has been Well, that that this all this whole thing today started because of her dad. >> Last night they called police to try to get me arrested and lied and said I'm on. Do you understand? >> I got you. >> A false police report. I this three look it up. I mean just spend next after we discuss we'll try to deescalate the situation. The only reason why I called you guys is she was I demanded we need to go to a lawyer today. That's my task today is get your dad's taken away cuz I'm threatened by your dad having in this situation. >> Has he What has he done to make you alarmed that he has firearms? >> Oh, he called police. He brought one to my house and didn't tell me and my one of my kids got it and I he I didn't even know he brought a dude brought a gun to my house and he's seen it. They're both crazy. >> Can you please explain the Baker Act to me? >> Okay. So, if we're a Baker Act, we have there has to be certain criteria. So there has to be certain criteria that we have to evaluate the person right um as if they're want to hurt themselves or hurt somebody else if they're refusing to take medication and if we leave them possibly that something can happen to them or somebody else that becomes an issue and then we have to bankr has he been bankrupted before? >> No. >> Okay. Place in protective custody. But again why is he acting different today? You're saying why? Last night when the police came, I was completely honest that I did not feel threatened after the police left is when I first time in my entire marriage that I ever felt threatened by him. >> But you've been married with him >> 10 and a half years. >> And all these kids are his and yours. Okay. And very happy. >> But out of 10 and a half years, why is it going downhill? He's not always like this, right? >> No. >> So why do you have any idea why he's acting like if he doesn't get take medication? Do you know any why he's acting like this? >> I've been reading Google, but I'm not a doctor. So Google says that it could be stress induced, trauma reduced, induced. He is like >> Did he smoke? Did he smoke anything? >> Like I said, he's on the state program for he had >> But does he do anything different unusual that just increase in limits? He had an increase in limit lately with the you know Yeah. the the Well, he does the smoking the edibles and the syringes stuff. I don't know. I don't stuff. I don't not like a stick it in your syringe, but like he puts it on candy. I don't know. It's a whole thing. You'll have to Google it cuz I don't understand. It's It's like a sack from the I don't It's illegal. It's all through the program. >> But he's taking Is he taking more than he's supposed to? >> He's not going past his limits. But he >> But it's prescribed though and all that. >> Yes. He had a limit increase with the doctor. >> Okay. But he's not going past his limits. >> No. >> Okay. And he had a limit increase when? >> But he I can't remember. That's the thing. It was recent though, like maybe the past month, third, month and a half. >> You break that down. Recent increase. And that's through a doctor >> increase. Yes. >> And Okay. And that's through a primary care doctor. And it's I'd have to look at his see why. >> All right. What's your plan moving forward? >> Divorce. Uh well, here's the thing. I've talked to many people and my understanding is I have my work set to where the next year or two they understand I I can work at home. I'm with the kids. >> Oh yeah. I have my work set. That was one I did the past two months. So she's sensing the noose is tightening. You know that I'm I'm figuring it out. And I kind of have a hint of a deep family secret that I don't want to tell you guys because I want to make an accusation with her brother. You know, when it was a CPS agent came here and said, "Nathan, how are you doing?" I'm like, "What? How are you doing? Forget the kids. How are you doing?" And I realized that my kids weren't being a it was me psychologically abused. And that started the process. I started to mentally see that she's no longer working with me. She's working against me. Her parents are nuts. Like they need medication. And so I started demanding, "You need treatment." And she said, "No." And you get to a point you're like, "Oh god, I don't want to marry to someone who's bipolar one and untreated. It sucks." >> Any any threats that he make? >> So last night was the first time in our entire marriage that it was his tone and the way he gripped my shoulder. >> Okay. And it was last night we were out here. >> And then this morning, this morning he came in. He told me that he felt like I was trying to get him killed last night because I had told lies to my parents and that my [clears throat] parents had didn't like the welfare check, right? And so I brought police over with guns and therefore I was trying to get him and that my dad was trying to get him killed and that he doesn't feel safe with my my dad holds guns but my dad is honestly probably >> and then today he's just uh is he throwing things around or he's >> paranoid delusion he is I'm going to kill him. He's my dad. So this is all right. So, we're going to um we're going to step out and go talk to you. >> He took my phone. He wouldn't let me have the phone. He um prevented me from re-entering the house to take care of the children. >> Okay. >> Um >> All right. Um >> I do not feel safe around my husband right now. >> Do you have anywhere you can go? >> No, this is my home and my parents live in Jupiter and I I could pick them all up and drive them to my parents like I suppose. >> You can do that. Yeah. Nothing stopping you from doing that. I'm going to go talk to the sergeant. So, I'm going to go talk to my sergeant officer and see what we have. Okay. Um cuz I don't know what what he said or what's going on. So, I'm going to go we're going to go get with him. We'll come back and let you know in a couple of minutes um what we have. Okay. But um I do highly suggest can't force you and can't force him if he lives here as well. But I would highly suggest that you go somewhere if you don't feel safe staying here at least for the day. >> You said he didn't put his hands on you. >> He grabbed my phone forcibly and he prevented me from taking >> But he didn't like hit you or saying >> All right, we're going to go. So we're going to go talk to her real quick. Well, we we can like I said, we have to evaluate him and they need an evaluation device. >> That's Well, okay. But in order for us to for so to bake wreck somebody, I'm not saying we're not we're doing that or we have to go get with them and see what's going on. Okay? But in order for us to put somebody in protected custody, they have to meet a certain criteria. And that's basically saying against the will, they're in protected custody for up to 72 hours and they would be taken over to circles of care to go see a doctor. However, if they don't meet that criteria, we cannot force somebody to go. Is he willing? Would he be willing to go with you? Maybe. >> No, he's not willing to go. >> Yeah. >> He's telling you that I'm the one who's crazy. >> All right. We're going to go talk. We're going to talk. We'll be back. All right. We'll be back. How long have How long have you guys been together? >> Uh, I've known her. I met her in 2006. We've been married for 11 years starting in December. What really tipped this off of me is I found out just I have suspicions of affairs. I don't have proof. Just smoked this fire. And when you get to the point you start to realize I don't trust my wife's she's saying, you see evidence of corabres differently. You're like, okay, I can't I'm not going to take it personally. She's sick. Get treatment. >> Is she seeking treatment? >> She is. We have a psychiatrist. >> So, she's she's doing the right thing by seeking that treatment. >> Have you ever dealt with someone bipolar one? >> I'm not really too familiar. >> I was trying to get her away from the kids. So, I told her, I said, "Lara, why you're talking one, please stay outside?" I was talking to one and she just slipped inside. My fear is a Susan Sandon thing where she kids because I my hunch I have no proof is that if she goes on medication she's gonna have conscience and guilt of the [ __ ] she's done over her entire life and it's going to drive her to and that's why they've been telling me she needs to be under psychiatric evaluation if she gets treated. >> Gotcha. >> So he's just he's diagnosed with um autism not not diagnosed with schizophrenic. She uh he get takes prescribed by he's been recently prescribed a higher dose but he hasn't been taking anything abnormal amount like excessive amount. Um she just said that um yesterday we were out here um and he didn't meet the criteria. She didn't want to do anything about it. Now we're out here again she's saying and that uh she basically wants him to go see a doctor. She's out of nowhere. He just starts being um acting like people are like schizophrenic like people are after him. that she said that she he was gonna lock her out of the house and that there's apparently six kids in there. Um and uh she said he needs to go see somebody. Now, she said she can go with the kids today to go to a family's house to leave, but she said she's worried that if he doesn't get bakered that he'll come in and >> So, I was explaining her about the whole the whole evaluation. >> He tried to hit her been a harm to anyone. >> No. So, he's she said that grabbed her phone and just doing things that are odd. >> Yeah. >> And kind of saying things and saying that he grabbed the phone because he didn't want her calling her dad cuz the dad last time the dad came down here he came with a gun >> and he's saying I don't want a gun in my house but there's nothing that he's saying that would lead us to believe that he needs to baker where he's a harm to anyone >> so that's where I'm at 20 but >> yeah I figured something was up so based off her statement I was telling him don't think there's anything there and I kind of explain it to her out loud >> she want to get things right Now, while we keep him, >> yeah, I'll ask I'll ask her. I explained to him that um good idea to at least just do a DCF referral regarding to uh I was explaining to him why. So, you have a couple things going on. The cleanliness of the house, there's six kids in there and the issue between both of them. So, definitely a DCF referral. I told her >> does she seem to signal 20 as well? >> Um a little bit >> or just concerned >> a little bit a little bit like she rambles on and like >> and I guess she's pregnant with their second child. Oh, that's what he's saying. >> Know that >> um so the past um she's almost accidentally killed three of our kids. >> How >> one kid when I went to work in 200 something she uh said I was at work she said she gave her an Advil bottle as a rattle and went took a shower and the kid took the whole Advil bottle and there's a documented record ER record in uh Columbus, Ohio 2000. God, I have to think about it, but these are things I'm not crazy. And the kid was in a coma for for for a day and they thought I was crazy. They did the whole Nathan, are you on? And I'm like, God, it's Advil. She gave the kid Advil, not opiates, and they finally treated and saved the kids. And then there was number Oh, >> what else happened? >> I don't want to think about it anymore. >> Okay. Well, let's think about something positive. So, two priors in the past for Florida, one passed in Georgia. All for environmental hazards, always smelling dirty, disgusting. You know the drill. >> Yeah. >> Um, always urine. That that's like the number one thing. Urine and feces. Past two cases for Florida. We were not allowed inside. They refused. Um, both times they told us get get off our property. You know, all the whole nine yards. Father believes that there's an affair going on. Um, like 5 hour lunches with the mother and some other random guy. She flew in from California. He's the bread winner. He works. He's the only one. She works from home. She doesn't work. She has like a minimal social media jobs, I believe he was saying. Um, all six kids, non-verbal, autistic. There's something with going on in the house. Like, they want a babysitter who's okay with all that kind of stuff. Basically, we have ongoing trouble with his house. I guess you're out here again for a follow-up. I'm not sure. So, I got a call from multiple people like he's just drunk in and out the last two days. She can't take care of autistic kids. And there's major concerns inside. He never lives inside of the house. And I I don't know if it's in like deplorable condition. I don't know. I know they were able to briefly in there cuz we've had so many reports here. So this time he is calling mom a demon and um >> so basically we're just trying to get in contact with dad. >> Dad and make sure Yeah. Make sure mom's pregnant. I can't believe it. She's pregnant supposedly again. >> She said she's spotting. And then the 27th we had a information. >> It's called a supplemental. Usually don't go out on that. I didn't get it. saying that he threatened to kill everybody, but I think >> Yeah, I saw that in the call notes. So, >> yeah, but he didn't [music] threaten this. He didn't The grandfather he doesn't like said that he hasn't threatened to kill anybody, just that he's drunk and mom can't handle all the kids. His kids are locked and supposedly they're locked in the rooms upstairs. It's pretty crazy. >> Okay. Well, we'll see if we get uh is it Nathan? >> Nathan? >> Yeah. >> You're not in trouble. It's just for safety reasons. Just going to put some cuffs on you. Okay. >> I understand it. >> All right. Since you're going anytime we transport somebody to the back of the vehicle, >> I accept it. Don't feel like you're you're in trouble cuz you're not. >> I understand. >> Okay. As soon as we get there, I don't know if you know where it's at. It's over in Melbourne, so it'll probably be like a 20-minute ride. When we get there and I I take you inside, I will take it off. I'm going to let them know that you're voluntarily wanting to go. You're not you're not in protected cuss or anything like that. Okay. >> You understand? >> Understand? >> Okay. All right. So, you just want to put it behind your back. Okay. >> Well, do I do I move my hands or >> Yeah, you can move it. You can just put behind your back. Okay. >> So, this is for show that she wants to turn the neighbors against me. That's the goal of this. >> No, it's not. >> That's the goal. >> Based off me talking to her, it didn't sound like it. Go ahead. Take a seat. I'll turn the AC on back here. All right. Is that his phone? >> All right. What are you nervous about going in the house? >> I'm nervous cuz he's going to his Oh, the house. Um because >> cuz I really honestly That's so I can just clear this case out and close it out. >> Close this house down. There's psychosis going. >> So, are the kids now I see all the keys on your Is that how you you lock them in the room with them? >> Yeah. Um >> how long how long does your nine-year-old stay in the room typically? And be honest. Um she's an early morning riser these days. So she gets up when I get up which lately has been like 700 7:30 and then um she likes to just chill in her room throughout the day and when she chills in her room without audacious on it's not locked you know >> it's just so she can have a quiet space to herself cuz everyone likes their own room right? >> Um but then when it's bedtime um and bedtime can be anywhere from like >> 9 till 11 honestly then we we lock her in. >> Otherwise she's around the house you know. Same with this one. You see what he's doing? Is he locked in? He's got to be locked in his room, too. >> Yeah, he'll be out in the hallway doing that, turning on and off lights. He'd be disturbing the whole household if he was going around the house and turning on enough lights. >> So, what do you do like fire or something? They're locked in. So, >> they there's fire smoke detectors and they got the key. I've got the key on. >> We also have windows and you know, it's just a simple key. >> Are the window are her windows locked? >> No. I mean, >> yeah. >> Um, we got all the smoke detectors, carbon dioxide detectors. We've got all the those things. And that's all we need to do is go in real quick and see the kids and then we'll be out. >> Inside I would say not I can take all the kids out but inside um I would just say keep her. >> Well, can you show me the you can take mom out so then you can show me show me. >> So the the rooms here I'm going to say why we're worried about the rooms. >> Yes. Why you're worried >> why we're about the room. They they both have the separate rooms but Leo's on the floor. >> Is it like all over his room? Probably >> I cleaned it. I'm saying it's clean. What I'm saying is what we got on metaphorically by the CPS in Georgia was the room was empty. We just had a bed >> and I'm like dude there's nothing on the bed. >> Yeah. I'm like they he on the floor and we try tried to stop. I mean you see the dude he just on the floor like he likes the fact that it pisses you off. So people don't understand the situation they get judgment. So you >> I understand the situation. >> Yeah. So I'm not going to let you in the house and oh I trust that we're not going to do that tonight but now they understand. I'm going to tell you tomorrow. My my next step is to go to a lawyer tomorrow and once I'm divorced, whatever you want for the kids will happen, okay? Because she's the blogger. >> As officers investigated the situation, they entered the home and discovered six children living in alarming conditions. The children had been locked inside separate bedrooms without proper access to food, water, or a bathroom, while parts of the house were in severe disrepair. >> Holy [ __ ] Are you taking him back >> in the front? In the front. >> You're missing me? >> Yes. >> Oh, okay. Why? >> So, >> why am I under arrest? Can I get dressed? And can I talk to a lawyer? >> You don't have an opportunity to talk to a lawyer. Okay. >> Okay. >> You're in handcuffs right now. The way you are is because I guess you're 8 weeks pregnant, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um there's with how whatever is going on in the house or or how everything was um they've established PC essentially to charge both you and dad with child neglect. >> Okay. Um >> pending court and everything. It'll sort itself out through court, but um from the sounds of it tonight, I think both of y'all are going to be going to jail. My pleasure. Thank you for having me back. >> Why are you resting me? So you guys believed her? >> No, she's already she's already at the jail. >> So you guys arresting both of us? >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> Six counts of child neglect. >> Laura Forsick and Nathan Forsick were arrested and charged with six counts of child neglect.
