And I noticed our shed door was open. So I thought that's kind of weird. So I >> I asked my wife if she had been in there. She said no. So then we pulled up the cameras and there's like it's like this guy at like 7:00 we see him go into our shed and then we see him walk back by the shed and we never see him leave. Stop. Let me see your hands. >> Back up. 9443. Hold the air. Give me another officer. No. No. No. >> Relax. Relax. Stop. Stop right now. On September 6th, 2025, homeowners called 911 after an intruder was squatting in their garden. Apparently, they came home from a trip and noticed their garden shed was open. [music] Not thinking much of it, they closed the door only to later check the cameras and realized there was an intruder hiding in their backyard. >> Oh, hello. >> How's it going? >> I'm doing well. Officer Bowman, how can I help you? Um, well, it's kind of weird. So, we got home at 8:00 and uh, you know, we went inside, we went out back, we're going to sit on the deck, >> and I noticed our shed door was open. So, I thought that's kind of weird. So, I >> I asked my wife if she had been in there. She said no. So, then we pulled up the cameras and there's like >> she's got the whole timeline if you want to come around back. But, basically, it's like this guy at like 7:00, we see him go into our shed. He hangs out until 7:30, like when it would have been dark. >> Comes out of the shed. Looks like he's got like some kind of pole or something he took out of our shed. Yeah. And then we see him kind of >> kind of start walking down the side. Then he got spooked or something and he jumped over like by our back door. It looks like he either goes in the garage or just hangs out by the door that goes into the garage. >> And then we see him walk back by the shed and we never see him leave. So, like I was going to go take a peek around the bushes and stuff, but I'm like, >> the only thing is you saw your shed doors closed now. Do you think you I shed the shed then? >> No, I I had my f like before I thought that there was someone in there. I was like, I'm going to shine my light. See if there's an animal in here or something. So, I just called you guys cuz I was like, I would rather have a police officer beat the bushes. >> What bushes do you think? What bushes do you think? Uh, >> well, yeah. See, like we've got arborite and then all down the back and stuff. So like take a look. Yeah. The last we see him is going behind the >> Okay. Is it is it full fence even back there? >> Fenced. Yeah. We've got the big privacy fence in the back. Hey, stop. Let me see your hands. Back up. 943. Hold the air. Give me another officer. >> No. No. No. >> Relax. >> Relax. Stop. Stop. Right now. >> Stop. Stop. I'm going tase you. Stop. Drop it. Drop it. Drop it. >> Drop it. DROP IT NOW. ON THE GROUND. >> One taste. One taste. ON THE GROUND ON YOUR STOMACH RIGHT NOW. ON YOUR STOMACH. >> ON YOUR STOMACH RIGHT NOW. >> ON YOUR STOMACH RIGHT NOW. >> ON YOUR STOMACH. Stop it. On your stomach. You taste again. >> On your stomach right now. >> Roll on your stomach. >> Roll on your stomach right now. Step it up. On your stomach right now. Roll in your stomach. >> Roll on your stomach. >> No. Sorry. >> Stop. No. >> Don't be reaching. Stop. Stop. Don't be reaching. >> Roll in YOUR STOMACH. >> ROLL ON YOUR STOMACH NOW. STOP. You're going to tase again. You're going to tase again. Stop. STOP IT. STOP RIGHT NOW. >> STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. You stop. >> What a good point. STOP IT UP. >> STOP. I will you. It's a large metal pipe. I have a point in the backyard. >> He's walking towards the front. >> Stop. Stop. Okay. Okay. >> I'm home at gunpoint in the backyard. He has a green pipe, gray sweatshirt, and pants. Male, Hispanic. It's not making any sense. Stop. Just stop. >> Drop the pipe. Drop it. Drop it now. You'll get bit by a dog if you don't drop that pipe. WATCH THEM. >> ON THE GROUND. PUT IT ON THE GROUND. >> DROP IT. DROP IT ON THE GROUND. ON THE ground here nobody behind your back. I'll >> stop moves. >> Watch him. >> There you go. 95 points going down. Okay. >> Is he cuffed? >> Yeah. You want to lock him up? >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Other hand up. Check him already. Nope. Please go down that way. practicing drugs. Watch your gloves. Rub your leg. Rub your leg. Watch your leg. >> Stop. >> Stop moving. >> No. Stay away from me. >> Set up on your butt. Stand up. Stand up. Okay. We got all the probes. >> No, no, no, no, no. We got two probes right here. >> I think it's tangled up with his right leg. >> I'm going to grab something to take out the probes. >> Okay, you might be good. >> I think they're out. Okay, >> we got one curled up right here. >> We're good. >> You got one. >> I'll pull it out. First number. We're still missing one. Phone. Yeah. First number. Yep. Pedro. I got I got three of them. Maybe his leg. I don't know. >> No, you're fine. >> I don't know if you need No, >> no, I don't know. Uh, he's just talking nonsense about see you in court. This stuff and you kept me talking about the probes. >> Uhhuh. >> Yeah. >> After officers subdue the intruder and secure him in the back of the squad car, the on-site supervisor collects a final statement from the homeowners to see if there is anything they know about the person who broke into their home. So, we got home at a little after 8, like 8:03 or something, and then the plan was to come out and eat some dinner on the deck, you know. So, I was getting the deck all set up and turned the lights on. I went, "Wait a minute. The shed door is wide open, which was never the case. We always close it." So, I walked out there, looked in the shed with my flashlight, and I was like, "That's really weird. There's nothing. There's no animals or anything." So, I just closed the shed door. I figured maybe she was in there for something and left it open. So, >> so then he asked me and I said no. So then I was like, I better look at the camera just just to make sure, you know, and then I see some person on the camera going into the shed. So then we then we were watching it, you know, minute by minute and he comes out of the shed and he comes over here by this door. No, he comes into the sunflowers right there and then comes in the door. But he kept looking behind him like and at that point he had the two weapons, you know, and he keeps looking. I'm like, man, maybe he's like hiding from the police >> cuz he got the steak from inside >> cuz it didn't look like he was stealing and it just looked like he was hiding, you know? >> So then as we watched the video, >> we watched him go behind the shed then. So from here he went behind the shed and then we never saw any more activity. So that's when we thought maybe he's still behind the shed >> and that's when we called which turned out to be a really good idea. >> Yeah. Okay. My officer told me that you have video that you would be able to share with us. >> What do you guys need? >> The way we do it is we send you an email and then you respond to the email with a video and then it uploads to our system. So I just need a good >> Which videos do you need though? >> Um just anything that you have pertaining to what happened tonight. So probably the original videos and then the videos of uh the use of force incident. >> Yeah. >> Um it's going to be hard to see that one >> cuz once these lights came on the camera just And we don't have cameras on this side. Okay. >> So, just email. >> So, at least the original whatever you have. Um, >> good email for you. >> Yeah, you could just use my Gmail. It sucks. >> I can't believe Weller didn't find him. Our dog. >> We let him out to go to the bathroom. He didn't find him. [laughter] >> Shows what a gold guard dog he is. Yeah. >> How you doing, man? >> I mean, that definitely kind of got you going though. >> Oh, yeah. You know, one of those days. Um, did you check your shed yet? see if anything's missing. >> I think we're down what? One fence post. >> Did we ever get that gentleman identified? >> I think we got from our garden the metal. >> I have somebody coming with a metal detector. They're just going to check real quick to see if we can find it. >> Dinner, man. That was our plan for the night. >> Yeah, you're going to have an adrenaline dump. You guys are probably going to be tired later. >> Feel a little like >> you'll be tired later. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. We've we experience this all the time. So, it's uh the world we live in. But I'm glad that we had an officer here. It was good that you called. >> Thank you for coming. >> I know. I'm sure he probably thought >> cuz it's kind of like, man, do we should we call this in or is this something I should just go look? >> The only reason I was like cuz he was he kept looking behind his shoulder. I'm like, maybe he's hiding from the police and they should know that there's someone in our yard. >> No, we're definitely glad that you called. So, we have >> Do you know the guy? Like I mean >> I've never dealt with him. I've been on Midnight's here for 12 years. I've never So, it's not like he was wanted >> cuz our neighbor on this side did say that they've seen somebody like that before walking up and down the street, you know, they didn't >> and sometimes I I don't know cuz I can't understand what he's saying, but I can't tell if he's under the influence of a narcotic or anything. >> Oh, the way he charged I mean, who charges a police officer with a piece of wood in their hand like a crazy person? >> Yeah. Generally, usually there's a substance on board that >> would cause that action in my experience. So, well, try to calm down. Enjoy your dinner. Um, we'll probably be in and out for like the next 20 minutes. As soon as he gets here with the metal detector, we're just going to scan the yard real quick. Is >> it okay if we let him out? Just cuz he's crazy. I mean, he's a friendly dog. >> Absolutely. Yeah, it's uh we're actually probably going to wait up front anyway. So, um once he gets the uh >> we'll just be back here. >> Yeah. Uh he wouldn't eat a taser probe, would he? [laughter] >> No. Okay. >> No, he's not a puppy. >> Okay, perfect. I have a corgi puppy. She eats everything. So, >> puppies. Yeah. >> Yeah. Even after questioning the homeowners, the officers are nowhere closer to understanding who this person is and why he decided to break into the couple's shed. So, they turn their attention back to the intruder one last time to hopefully find clarity. Yeah, he's making >> Oh, okay. What about you? Let's roll that off. Yeah, perfect. >> Right. What do you say exactly? >> They say, uh, if you guys don't take what we do in the amul statements, he's going to have to So, a Spanish speaking officer has to follow. >> Yeah. Okay. Do you think we should get out over here? >> Probably. >> Okay. Do we know what that I don't know? Okay. Mhm. Okay. Okay. Now that the mystery is solved, officers make sure Pedro gets the treatment he needs before being transported to jail. In the end, he was charged with burglary, aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding, and related offenses, including use of amphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
