operation relentless is an operation which brings together all of the activity across the county to look at issues that each different locality fears we've worked with partners such as Durham County Council with the fire service the house and groups and also the community to ask them more issues they want us to focus on in each of their localities so we've looked at two different strands of both enforcement and engagement and the enforcement aspect has meant that we've worked with our partners in the Durham County Council to execute magistrates search warrants and the engagement we've been out and we've conducted five community walkabout with partners again just to try and save with any issues in the neighborhoods speaking to the public asking them what their concerns are and then addressing that we've also had our mini police coming out and doing community speed watches our volunteer Police Cadets coming out and doing crime prevention visits we focused our activities to the west of people a which is shot and Thornley Wheatley Hill trimmed in those sort of areas those sort of areas which are out on a limb just to provide that reassurance and that confidence for the community it means their seat boots on the ground they are see this big army of people coming through so we're not just taught in the police were taught Lord Street wardens eternal fire service we're addressing the concerns within the community but it's a real visible presence within the community they see us out there and they see us working with the mini police working with the cadets it gives a real sense of pride in the area because we're trying to tackle things but not doing it on our own we using all of the tools in our box but getting out there and communicate and there we are actually doing something so that that's that's the impact it has on the community we're really proud to be involved with all of our partners working in communities to look to reassure them so and what's really important is that this comes from the community up this is about being able to tackle really low-level things whether or not that's yards and guards that a dirty whether or not that's graffiti on the walls all the way through to those drugs warrants that were we're seeing through and you know the real key thing is that actually individually what we don't see is that we don't see the results that when you come together in a coordinated way through a weaker action like this through up operation relentless and the results just are not quite the same so you know we're really proud through the safety and partnership that actually we put our shoulder to to get in better results
