If you can do it safely. If you're not safe, unfortunately, we just got to wait. I have to deal with this. I know it's it sucks. It stinks. But unfortunately, I got to deal with this. I'm trying to >> handle it, but >> it's gonna be it. It's gonna be handled. Just Just give me a Give me five minutes. We'll clear it up. Give me 5 minutes. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, I'm going to ask you one more time. Please get back in your vehicle and drive away. >> You're going to be placed under arrest. If you're Can I get your driver's license, please? Can I please have your identification? Give me your driver's license. >> Any question? >> I need your driver's license. You're blocking the roadway. You're going to be issued a ticket. Give me your driver's license. >> Give me your driver's license. >> Are you Are you failing to identify yourself? >> Yes. >> Okay. No problem. >> Are you going to go help? >> There's nothing we're going to be able to do. >> Is there anyone? >> I asked her for a driver's license. She's parked in the roadway to able to get back in her vehicle. Can you please help me? >> I can absolutely help you. But what you're going to do is you're going to get up. >> Yes. >> And you're going to move out of the road now. >> Okay. What can you do first? >> You're going to get up. >> What can you do first? >> You're going to do what you're told first. >> You're going to get up and get out of the road now. >> Okay. >> Did you hear what I said? Am I speaking English? >> Get up. Get out of the road. >> Okay. I have a question. >> Get back in the vehicle. >> Get back in your vehicle. >> Are you going? >> Sure. We'll do the best we can. But guess what? Right now, we have a bigger problem than that. Okay. >> People are trying to leave. >> Okay. But you promise me you're going to help her. >> Sure. >> Yes. >> Yes. But the first thing you do is you're going to put your hands behind your back cuz you're under arrest. >> Yes. I don't care. You should. >> No. No. No. Don't pull away from me. >> So that's what's going to happen first. >> Okay. >> Send a hook for the car. >> Okay. >> I don't I don't have a problem. >> You got a problem now cuz you're under arrest. >> Okay. What's problem? >> Where's your identification? Let go of the phone. >> Let go of the phone. >> Okay. Don't don't don't use any >> Where's your identification at? >> You're allowed to look in common places for her license. You can look in the glove box. You can look in the armrest for her ID. >> Just so you know, we're towing your car. >> Okay. >> You should have just left. >> I don't speak from now on. >> I don't care. My lawyer. >> That's fine. You didn't get Miranda, so you can talk to whoever you want. >> Yeah, I don't I don't talk anymore. >> That's fine. You're still talking then. >> Just so you know, everything inside the vehicle is reported. Okay. >> Have a seat. Watch your head. >> Can I get a lose, please? >> Can you what? >> I thought you weren't talking to me. You talking to me now? >> No. I just want to be at least I'm not running from the car. >> Are are you still >> What? >> Feel comfortable? >> Uh, no. You're under arrest. That's not how that works. You don't >> I know why I'm under arrest. >> For obstruction. >> What is obstruction? >> Are you talking to me or not talking to me? >> Asking questions. >> Well, are that means you're talking to me. So, are you talking to me or you waiting for your attorney? >> Okay, hold on one second. Is there anything you need from your car? No. >> All I have is this. The vape you're not getting cuz they can't vape inside headquarters. Is there anything you need from the car? Cuz I took your key off. So, and I separated from this. Do you need anything else from the vehicle? >> Where is it? Where? >> Passenger. >> Do I have permission to grab it? >> Yes, you do. What? Was you separating because of you separating >> the key? I took the key off of here. Your car key. So, is that okay if I grab your cell phone? >> Yes. But I need the house key. >> That's why the house keys are here. >> Okay. >> The deer died. Just so you know, the There's nothing you can do. The deer was dying. There's nothing that Ma'am. Ma'am, the deer was struck or it fell. It either fell or it was struck. One of the two. Cuz sometimes they fall from the cliff. You're not listening. You have to try listening. Unfortunately, you have to try listening. The deer either fell from the cliff, which it happens a lot. Happens almost every all every other day or every couple weeks. It happens a lot. They fall from up here. Once they fall and they have internal injuries, they're dead. When we call animal control for a wild animal, because a deer is a wild animal, they're not coming. They don't come for for deer. They'll come for a dog or a cat or something else. >> I understand that. You don't pay for that. You don't pay for them to take care of wild animals. That's what you call wildlife and preservation. Wildlife and preservation aren't going to drive an hour here for a deer that is clearly dying. When I came up, the deer was clearly dying. There was Okay, ma'am. Do you understand what's Do you understand anything about healthcare? Do you understand what agonal breathing is? Let's say you came up on me and I was laid out. I was hit by a car, shot, whatever the case is. Hold on. Let me finish. Let me finish. And you hear me breathing. You see me moving, but I'm breathing like this. That's what's called agonal breathing. It I appear to be alive. My body is fighting to stay alive, but I'm dying. There's almost nothing that can be done. Once you No, once you get to that point, you can call 911, but you're wasting your time. Once you're to the point where you are in agonal, you're still not listening. Once you're at the point where you're in agonal breathing, that's it. There's no coming back from that. That deer was clearly in agonal breathing when I walked up. There was nothing anyone was going to be able to do for it. It was dying. What do you think they're going to do? Hook oxygen up to it? Take it to a hospital, try to revive it? That does not happen. It's a wild animal. That almost never happens under any circumstance. In the meantime, you had people here backed all the way up. That's going towards the gate. You have people backed up all the way up to the point where they were out of their car, not knowing where to go, not knowing what to do, not knowing that there's an emergency. What if somebody over here, a human, had to try to get home to someone who's dying or hurt this way? We couldn't even get even if we wanted emergency services coming here because you parked your car and refused to leave. How are they going to get to the deer anyway? I had to walk so far just to get to where you were because you refused to move your car like this officer was telling you to do. So now you're under arrest. You're going to have a permanent criminal record for Yeah. a criminal record. You committed a crime today by not doing what the officer told you to do. It's called a destruction of a governmental function. You could have just went home or got your car pulled forward and pulled over up there. You chose not to do that. Therefore, you're now under arrest. And for what? The deer's dead. >> I was I was keeping him alive. >> I can't. You weren't keeping him alive. >> So why is it dead then? Pouring water on a deer doesn't keep it alive. If a deer hasn't turned on, ma'am, if you fall from this cliff and I pour water over you and massage your back, you're still going to die. >> This is why I was asking for help. >> Okay. And what is he going to do? Nothing. >> But would you leave me over? >> No. No. You're a human being. Emergency services will come for humans. >> You are a human. There is a difference between wild animals and humans. Man, let me ask you a question. If you see a snake attacking a mouse, are you going to try to help the mouse? >> Are you going to try to help the mouse? If a lion attacks a gazelle, you going to try to help the gazelle? >> If the lion attacks a gazelle, you going to try to help the gazelle? If a shark eats another fish, are you going to jump in and save the fish? Do you understand my point? Do you see where I'm going? It's a waste of time. The animal is clearly dying. There's nothing you're going to be able to do. It's a c It's called the circle of life. You saw Lion King. Did you ever see Lion King? Remember when he was holding Simba and they were talking about the circle of life and they were talking about how Simba has to raise the pride and he has to, you know, understand that it's called the circle of life. >> Circle of life. Things happen. Bad things happen. But it's not your job to intervene, obstruct traffic to save a deer that's already dead. >> That's really >> I Well, it is. When an officer says, "Get back in your car. You're blocking traffic. You're obstructing a governmental function. I can't do my job because you're in my way." That's a crime in the state of New Jersey. That's a crime in all 50 states. When an officer says you must do X and you choose not to do X, you're under arrest. It's called structure of a governmental function. You're actually impeding the flow of traffic. A bunch of violations that are serious. Again, if somebody down there needed an ambulance, they weren't getting past our cars, and that would have been your fault. You could delay services to a human that might have needed it, and that would have been your fault. You would have to live with the fact that somebody could have possibly died if they need emergency services because you refused to move. Okay, you're right. And this isn't an emergency either. >> So here I'm feel um put the seat belt on her. You go on the other side. Yeah. >> You have to understand I was trying to save a life. >> But you weren't going to save a life. An officer has way more experience dealing with wild animals than you do. We work here. We have way more um experience dealing with deer and wild animals than you do. If he's telling you, "Ma'am, move. I made the phone calls for this. I called the necessary people. If they're going to come out, they're going to come out. It's not your job." Yeah, but you weren't listening to him. >> I wasn't even help. >> Okay. And he was here to help. You had two cops here before I got here. >> You had two cops to get What did you want them to do? Mouth to mouth? >> No, I wanted to come to >> So, what? Give you more water? >> No. Give the proper help. >> What proper help do you think they were going to do? >> Saving lives. How? >> Ambulance. >> Ambulance. An ambulance doesn't come for wild animals. What ambulance? Comes for wild animals. Excuse me. Mr. Justin. All right. So, I'm going to transport her to headquarters and uh just wait. I'll wait to tell. Waste of time, bro. >> 5 minutes later. >> Put gloves on because she has blood on her hands from the deer. From the deer. >> So, still in his caucus. >> Yes. C caucus. >> It's not saucus. >> No, my family's from Caucus. It's Caucus. Is it Caucus or Saucus? >> See, she said Saucus. >> UPN9 invented Saucus. >> She said >> and NJ Transit. It's said Caucus. >> No. Anyone from Caucus knows it's >> Okay. It's Newark or Newark. >> It's Newark. >> Newark. >> Okay. It's Newark. It's actually Newark. >> It's Newark. >> So, it's the caucus. >> It's caucus. So, caucus. No, it's because >> that's what I said. >> Yeah. >> Is it tailor or pork roll? >> It's tailor. It's pork roll. >> No, it's not. >> I was No, I was wrong with pork roll. >> No. >> Okay. So then tomato or tomato? >> Tomato. >> Potato or potato? >> Potato. So what are we doing? How far do you want to do this? [laughter] >> It's potatoes, bro. Just just being silly. >> You ever watch Good Fellas? >> Do you ever see Jersey Shore? Goodell. >> Yes. Do you remember uh Joe Pesky? He was talking about a guy who sees not at Jersey Jersey Shore. Remember Ronnie got into that fight and it was like >> I cringe every time I pull coffee. I know I do that just my family comes down. You know, you don't have to yell. Y scaring me a little bit. Calm down. arrest. >> Call. >> Yes, sir. >> He's unprovoked. I obviously haven't spoken to him about what's going on. >> If a deer is an agonal breathing, what's going to happen? >> It's dead. >> Thank you. >> Same thing as a human being. >> So, if a human being was an agonal breathing, what's going to happen to the human being? >> But you're going to ask for help. >> I understand. We were going to ask for help and help came. >> Unfortunately, >> unfortunately, the person's going to die. Man, I've watched human beings take their last breath. I saw a car crash. This is Christmas. Three people in a car. Three men in a car. Car rolled over. The driver I watched take his last breath. He was in agon breathing. He was breathing. He was moving. Still breathing. And I watched him die in front of me. We couldn't even open the car to get to him cuz he was trapped inside the vehicle. Died inside the car. The rear passenger was walking around. Walking around talking to us. Oh my god. He had a big weld on his face. His eye was swollen open. We had him sit down. The EMTs came and took him to the trauma center. This guy was walking around. He died in a hospital from his internal injuries. All three people in the car died. Even when help comes, it doesn't mean you're going to live. That's the only reason why I'm telling you that. Again, I respect the fact that you were trying to help the animals, but you have to let the people who deal with this deal with it. They weren't ignoring you or not wanting to help. It's just there. They know there's nothing that can be done. >> I felt that I was ignored. This is what >> unfortunately facts don't care about feelings. Ben Shapiro. >> What was the expression? What is that? >> Uh, what's your phone number? When you get home, check yourself for ticks. Not now. >> When you get home, tick. >> What is tick? >> A tick is that animal that climbs into your skin and sucks your blood because deer have deer ticks. When deer Yeah. They're going to climb on you. I'm not checking you. I'm just saying when you get home and you bathe, make sure you check yourself thorough for ticks because you can get Lyme disease from deer. >> There's a lone star tick that gives you disease. Do you like eating beef ra? >> Yeah. If uh you get bit by that and you get that, you're not you can't eat it. >> You will become a vegan basically. >> Should I go to the hospital? >> No, you have to go to the hospital. I'll take you to the hospital. Just check check yourself. Check your arms, legs. Tick t i c and then it'll tell you where to look. Unfortunately, I can't help with you. You >> Yeah, that's your I enjoy employment. Therefore, I can't check. >> All right, we're good. You're released. It's It's already all done. And that's why you go to court. You have court now. I'm not trying to It's just Sorry. It's okay. >> The pizzeria is closing. Oh, >> it's all right. >> You could either sit here or you would sit out here. There's a bathroom if you want. There's a vending machine, a water fountain. It's There's nothing. You're released. You You were done. We don't have to There's >> Hold on. Hold on. I'll turn on the light. I'm not Here we go. >> That's the way out. >> This is the way out. This is outside. >> Done. That's all you outside. You can call for a ride. You can sit right here if I have to. There's a bathroom. There's a water fountain. There's a vending machine. You're released. We're done. >> It's not moving anymore, right? >> I don't know. It stops moving and then it like I really don't want to, you know, >> take care. Yeah. It's nature. And I try to explain to her. Then she's calling 911. Fort Lee 4 Lee 4 Lee's picking up the phone. I'm there. I'm like officer Carlson Parkway. Like I'm here with her. I'm trying to tell her not to call 911, but she keeps doing it. So once my other officer came, the sergeant came. >> That's it. >> We can't [clears throat] be here all night. It's it's unfortunate if an officer comes back. Thanks for sticking until the end to watch the deer get dragged away to its grave. If you ever encounter an injured wildlife animal like a deer, call your state's Department of Natural Resources or dial 311 and they'll connect you to the right agency. Just don't do it in the middle of traffic. See you in the next one.
