While one officer remained in the security room, the other went out to search for the group. According to store security, Natalie was part of a group that included another woman who closely resembled her and had also taken merchandise. While searching for someone matching Natalie's description, the officer located a woman accompanied by a man at a nearby condominium complex riding in a blue golf cart, the same type of vehicle Natalie had used to flee earlier that day. Oh, we might be 10-12. They got her? Yeah. No. You see? Yeah. Wow, bro. Cool, that's cool, man. Work on this real quick. I'll be back. >> Listen, listen. Do you like cold weather? I'm a female. That is against the law. It's not I'll wait. Listen. She's being detained. Detain. Are you arresting her? No, she's being detained. At this point, Natalie knew the situation had caught up with her. Despite attempting to play innocent, she clearly understood why she was being detained, yet still tried to mislead the officer and resist. Unfortunately for her, the officer would not be convinced by the poor me act. >> For what? >> Okay. Cuz we're investigating We're investigating something that happened at Walmart. You're going to You're going to end up at the ground. >> No, you're not. >> to end up on the ground. >> Yeah, and I'm going to I'm going to sue you. >> Okay. So please get your hands off me. >> Okay, are you going to put your hands behind your back? He's just detaining you. Y'all have all of the [ __ ] in your hands. I told you several times to put your hands behind your back. Sir, and you grabbed me and literally you're not supposed to I'm a female and you're a male. You're supposed to have a female deputy here. Natalie escalated the situation to the point where the officer had no choice but to bring it under control. Even then, she continued trying to overpower the officer and tell him what he could or could not do. Despite being placed in cuffs, Natalie refused to drop her want-to-be tough act, turning an already tense situation into an even bigger headache for everyone involved. That is against the law. I know my rights. I know my constitution. Thank you. I'm not resisting. Oh, he [ __ ] did it. He shouldn't have tried to blame me. >> She didn't do anything. >> Step back. Step back. Step back. I want to play one-to-one. All right. Go and sit up for me. Ready? Go ahead and sit up. We're going to have resisting. Are you a supervisor? Nope. Uh I want the supervisor here. Okay. You can tell >> He just put You're both putting your hands on me and I'm a female. Well, you can That's against the law. Why is it the law? I what? >> something. So I didn't steal it. It was Tamera. If y'all are arresting me over a [ __ ] false charge, I swear to god >> Step over there. This is set up by a [ __ ] whole ass police officer. Is she being arrested? We're going to have her detained. All right. And now they're taking [ __ ] off so they can give it to the camera. Fake arrest. That's not what he's talking about you right now. What? I'm up at the pool up the road from you. So, what is my name if y'all know so much? I don't know, but you're going to tell us. Oh, I am? Yep. I definitely did when you asked me. Like you said, it's on camera, correct? 6601 or something like that. No, 66 My father is a molester. Yes, stepfather. I did nothing wrong. I didn't steal [ __ ] thing. Ask the man. Ask the man at Walmart that [ __ ] said this [ __ ] All right, we're going to take Sure. We're going to take one of the handcuffs off so we can take this off. If you resist, you're going straight back in the cuffs. And we're going to cut it off of you. Cut what off of me? This bag. Go for it. I don't give a [ __ ] Got to go down. >> Best believe you're both on camera. And best believe y'all are both going to get something through it due to the fact of um false accusation, setting up a whole [ __ ] innocent female. Due to one of your police officers. What are you arresting me for? I want to take your bag. >> What are you detaining me for? Have a seat. What are you arresting me for? What are you putting me in the back of the car Have a seat and we can talk. Let him get in the back car. Have a seat and we can talk. That's not the point. No, you won't. They'll make sure that you can't. >> Have a seat. Like they did you. Get in my car, please. Have a seat. I want I Why am I getting detained? Sir? Natalie acted as if the officers owed her something. She claimed to know her rights and the law, but that knowledge seemed to apply only when it suited her as she appeared to believe it was acceptable to take merchandise and flee the scene. >> And then we can talk. They're hurting me. All right. Slide in feet in. We also gave you lawful orders to get in the car. Lawful orders of what? Over what? What's your name and badge number, man? >> Deputy Gilliam, 6691. It gets all the words too. That's supposed to be the supervisor. He's not. Gilliam, what's your badge number? It's Gilliam, 6671. Gilliam? This one too. Yes, sir. You want to talk to us? Over what? About what? >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. For what? You said I'm giving you a reason. Do you want to give me your ID, sir? I don't have an ID on me, but I'll I'll give you my name. You have the right to talk to your lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, who are you to hire >> have to cuz I didn't do nothing. >> have to. But I will because that's who I am. Well, I I appreciate that. >> I am. You can decide at any time to execute these rights, not answer any questions, Why am I being arrested? Would you like to continue talking to me? Why am I being arrested? >> All right. Now you're being detained. Why am I being detained? So, you match a perfect description of someone who stole stuff at Walmart. Not me. The other one. What other one? How How are they going to see all my tattoos, sir? Please Please clarify that. >> cameras. Cameras? Okay, so what was the man talking about about the whole female that looks like me? What female? That I personally know. That looks nothing like you. You're the only person that matches The same woman that's in the same house that uh a man named Shiga got arrested at not too long ago? What are you talking about? I'm talking about you and her. Walmart today? Nothing happened. I went to see if my friend was out in the parking lot, okay? To see if he left or not. He did not leave. He was walking up as I was walking to the door. I did not walk out with no things. He tried to put me into the room. I said, "No." He literally tried to push me into the room. That is against the law. I know my law I What man was that? Was it the short Hispanic dude or the white dude? It was a Hispanic man. All right. What was he wearing? A blue shirt. Blue shirt? Yes. He said, "No, ma'am. Ma'am, go into the room." It's on security camera. Mhm. And he literally told me who it was that stole and he knows it wasn't me. At this point, Natalie attempted to deny any involvement in the theft, acting as if the officers were clueless and she was one step ahead of them. She even claimed she had only gone outside to check whether her friends were waiting for her in the parking lot. However, the evidence in the deputy's hands was undeniable and no poorly crafted story would be enough to change what had already happened. Well, I'm going to show you a picture, okay? Tamera? Cuz it looks just like her. Yeah, right. >> [laughter] >> I get you trying. I get you trying to cover It's a setup. Who is this then? That part. I didn't even leave [ __ ] >> That's you? Yes, that is me. Okay. And that's the man right there. That's the guy right there? That's the man that tried to put me in the room. Yes. Okay. And he told me myself that it was goddamn Tamera, not me. That stuff right there I have money for to pay for that. And I told him and he kept following me. The lady >> I didn't get to buy it because he tried to put me in the room. Okay. We So, this is Tamera? No, that is not Tamera. >> Who is that? That is another lady that goes to my ex-mother-in-law's house. Your ex Is that I guess that's your boyfriend here? He's pretty He's my friend. Yes. Okay. That That's his mother? No, not that I know No. No. Tamera looks like the woman >> know this lady? No, I do know that lady. Oh, you do? Were you Were you guys together? No, we were not. No, she was following me in the store. Same with the other one. Were they stalking you in the store? They were stalking me to set me up for this. But this is you. Yes, that is me. That is the man that tried to put me in the room. And that boy was also following me. What boy? The boy in the golf cart? Yes. That boy right there. Is that the same guy as right there? >> No, that is not. >> That's not the same guy? No, it is not. Okay. Just give me 1 second, okay? If you want, you can slide right here cuz it's more comfortable than in the back of the hummer cuz I know that's not What did you do? I didn't get to move them yet. Oh. Are they calling you up there right now? No, not now. I'll do it in the morning. What's your first name, ma'am? Natalie. Natalie. Miss Natalie, I'm giving Ryan's number. I'm I'm taking that with you. So, you're going to be able to call him when you get there, okay? And he said he's going to come bail you out. It'll be probably 100 bucks. All right. While searching Natalie's bag, officers discovered a crystal-like substance wrapped in small pieces of foil, which later field tested positive for narcotics. Inside the same purse, they also found a grinder containing a small amount of a green leafy substance that later tested positive as well. Both Natalie and Ryan continued to attempt to portray her as innocent, but their story quickly began to fall apart. Natalie claimed the situation had been set up against her, shifting the blame onto other women. Yet, her own behavior contradicted that account. As the case continued, officers would soon learn that neither Natalie nor Ryan was a stranger to the system with prior history pointing to ongoing issues. Are you here for us? No, no. I'm the security guard. Oh, you're the security guard? >> Yeah, I just flew in. Okay. One of them stole from Walmart, so The one of them? Yeah. She's going to go. Which one is you? Go on in the car. In our In our car. That vehicle looks familiar. All right. Cool. Yeah. Can I get her name and part of the state? I'm not sure, but she's the only one we're going to deal with, so. Okay. I guess they wanted to go. >> Could I see the female? Could I see who >> you a picture of her in a minute. Cuz I think this is the same female that's been sitting in our um in our pool at night when she's supposed to. Yeah, that's her. Okay. Well, she's going to spend the night in jail Well, she's going to spend first 2 hours of the night in jail and then someone will bond her out. Okay. Yes, sir. Can I get her last name? Can you get her last name? >> Yeah. If she'll give it to us, stay right there. Martin. Martin? Martin. Um Natalie Martin. Natalie Martin? Natalie Martin. Why is that? Martin. Martin? Oh, just so you can come get her. What's her What's her first name, Bailey? Natalie. Natalie Martin? Yeah. M A R T I N. I assume she would She would have spelled it. No, they They'll call bail bondsman, they'll figure it out. Well, she she'll be able to call bail bondsman, too. And then if you I believe if you go up and bring payment Does she have your number? I'll give her my work phone. Yeah. Yeah, I got it. I got it. So. That's going to be it. Um yes, it's Thank you. I'm sure you know what happened. I think I imagine you're probably at but I just got a ride from the mutual Walmart. I'm not investigating you. You don't got to give me the PR response. You're all good, man. Thanks, man. So. But I appreciate you being cool. No problem. Yeah, he was just in jail on my account. Ryan was there. Does he look at you very familiar? Him? The what? Uh he looks Who is he talking I baker at the Hampton like less than a week ago. Was that there with you? No, it was during the day. Okay. Um but um he hangs around the realtor and he's right there big big five Uh oh, I see. Yeah. Never mind. Yep. Okay. Where do you stay at, ma'am? At the moment, I don't have anywhere due to a lot of stuff going on, but I have a staying at my ex-boyfriend's. What's that? I'm staying at my ex-boyfriend's. That's where you you stay at? Yeah. Okay, so. Natalie was already known at the location for breaking the rules. While Ryan had previously been in law enforcement's custody, even inside the patrol car, Natalie still believed she could fool the officers and continued clinging to her wall of lies convinced it would save her, but it wouldn't. Is there anything in your pockets? No. There shouldn't be anything in your pockets cuz you're being arrested for a retail theft. But I didn't steal anything. The man had it in his hands. The stuff in the He had something He had stuff in the car. You pass all points of sale. Once you pass all points of sale, that's considered theft. >> It wasn't all points of sale. There was one one point left. I did not walk out the door. That's That's where you passed it. No. Well, there's a little alleyway where everyone leaves. Once you pass that, that's all points of sale. There's another spot where you passed it. >> it. That's the thing, I did not pass it. He had already grabbed my cart. He had to grab the stuff out of my cart. All right, it shows something on the different angle of video. Of course it does. So, let's go through your stuff like that. All right, turn around. She says she's going to look in her Anything else in your pockets? Let me just double check for you. Okay. Awesome. All right, you have jeans on today? Yes. Yeah, okay. Okay. I'm a I'm a little far away, but I can head down there right So, I appreciate it. Thanks, sir. That's fine. Guy down at the future You look I got you, man. Put your hands up. I'm using I'm using the back of my hand. >> We don't have a female cop down here. So that's unfortunately how it's going to be with us. I'm using the back of my hand to touch your pocket, okay? Mhm. What was that? All right, I'll see you. I'll stay with you. Come back to me. Um I'll make a clear and then I'll call dispatch and then I'll type up a little follow up for you. Sounds good. Thanks, sir. As the arrest process continued and Natalie was taken to jail, additional crystal-like substances were discovered, which also field tested positive for narcotics. In the end, Natalie was charged with resisting an officer, contraband, theft, and possession of narcotics.
