Your wife is Okay? >> Where do I go? I got to get back in my house. >> Okay, you can't get back in there right now. It's a death investigation. >> This is Thomas Wenzel, a well-known doctor who had just lost his wife. When officers arrived at the scene, Wenzel tried to portray himself as a grieving husband, but as time went on, a horrific truth surfaced. >> After you clean up the bathroom, what happens next? >> She rolled on the bed and fell. >> And the deeper detectives dug, the more disturbing the case became. >> I had thought my life might be better without her. >> She was really mad. >> How long do you think you were on top of her? >> I don't know, 15 minutes. >> Very comfortably. >> On December 2nd, 2024, [music] officers from the Windermere Police Department received an unsettling call reporting that a man had just found his wife deceased in their bedroom. The officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, unaware that they were stepping into one of the coldest crimes they had ever encountered. >> There's a 101 on my side. >> 10-4. >> 10-52, show me 10-21 the I'll be in check. >> 10-4. >> Inside the house, officers found the lifeless body of 71-year-old Linda Wenzel, the wife of 72-year-old Thomas Wenzel, a doctor in the Orlando area. According to Thomas, he had just found Linda and had desperately tried CPR on her, but she didn't respond and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Now, the officers needed to act quickly and secure the scene, as there were no clear signs of what had happened to Linda, and every second mattered to uncover the truth. >> She's in the bedroom. It's pretty obvious, though. It's Dave right now. Yeah. Okay. What do you want me to do? Let's come up on my Let's go out by the cars. To the front of the car. You sit on the bumper on the front. On the front. >> In the car? >> No, no. On the front. Just There's a bumper on the front. There's a bumper on the front. >> Okay. >> There we go. Yeah, you can sit there for a second. Wait. Okay. Sir, I just need you to wait, okay? I understand that it's cold, okay? But your wife is your wife is Okay? So, we have to do our investigation. We have to close off the house and finish our investigation, okay? >> Where do I go? >> Okay, I can You want to sit in the car? >> Yeah, but then then what do I do? I got to get back in my house. >> Okay, you can't get back in there right now. It's a death investigation is what I'm telling you. >> Well, where am I going to go? >> I can sit you in the car for now. You're not going to After that we'll work that out, but right now the house is going to be closed off for investigation, okay? >> I'll sit down in your car, but >> Okay, come with me. >> I got to get back in my house. >> All right, come with me. >> All right, am I going to be able to get back in my house? >> Eventually. Right now we're doing an investi- death investigation, okay? >> Okay. >> All right, just have a seat. >> All right, I'm going to. Jesus. >> If you turn around towards me and then sit down it'll probably be better. >> I have to sit on one Okay? >> Okay. >> All right, and it's not this one cuz I got a fractured pelvis. So, I'm going to slide back like this. >> are these seats are not the comfiest. That's why I was trying to keep you out, but >> All right, but I'll be able to get back in, right? >> Eventually. Right now you can't, okay? >> Okay. All right, go ahead. >> All right, watch your feet. >> Thomas's behavior was unsettling, to say the least. He didn't appear worried about his wife and seemed more concerned about the cold and the fact that he couldn't go back inside the house, which would later prove crucial as Thomas held more secrets than he was letting on. He also bore visible scratches as if he had been involved in a fight earlier, but he claimed those scratches were caused by his dog. And throughout the night his behavior didn't change, instead becoming more suspicious with each word he said. >> Where's Mr. Wincelet? >> He's in the back of my car. >> Is he all right? >> He's cold. >> Okay. >> [snorts] >> I'll sign my name on there in a second. >> All right, I wrote your name there. You can sign next to it. >> So, did you both go to bed at 10:00 tonight? >> She went to bed at 3:00. >> What do you mean 3 what? In the afternoon? >> Mhm. >> Okay. And then what time did she wake up at? >> Well, I woke up, um, you know, maybe an hour ago. >> But I mean, so she went to bed at 3. Was she still in bed when you went to bed? Okay. So, when's the last time you actually spoke to her? Was that prior to it? Did you >> About 3. >> So, you didn't say anything to her when you climbed in bed? >> No, she was asleep. >> She didn't complain of anything? >> She was asleep. >> Has she complained about anything the last couple days? >> Today, she said she had a fever, she vomited, and and thought she was going to die, she said. >> Did you check her fever? >> She was warm, yeah. >> Did you guys actually check it? >> No. >> Okay. >> I mean, I I really didn't think it was anything that serious. >> Okay. But, yesterday, completely fine? >> Mhm. I got to be going. >> Yeah, no, I understand it's late. Um, we're going to work on getting a hold of Anthony too here in a little bit. >> All right. >> All right, we'll we'll make sure he's aware. Um, is there anything else I need to know? >> I don't think so. >> Nothing that sticks out that just, I mean, you're the doctor here, so I'm kind of banking off of your knowledge as to why you think this would happen. >> Nothing else, uh, jumps out. >> Okay. All right, thank you, sir. >> The officer began to ask about the couple's last hours and whether Linda had been on any kind of medication before her death, but Thomas seemed unaware of everything, even though he and Linda had been together for over 50 years. He also claimed that Linda hadn't tried to wake him up that night. And as the minutes passed, Thomas appeared anything but willing to make things easier. >> Have you got anything soft up there that I can put under my head? >> Uh >> This is a metal seat. >> It's plastic, but let me see. >> It's horrible. It's like torture being in this vehicle. >> Yeah, it's not meant for laying down. >> God, I I I'm dying in here. >> You need me to call FD for you? >> Huh? >> Do you need me to call the fire department? >> No, it's just so uncomfortable. >> Okay. >> It's It's [ __ ] hell in this thing. >> Okay. >> Please, let me out. >> All right. You can get out. You can You can stand in front of the car. >> Uh-uh. No, that It's freezing cold out. Please >> Okay, so you have to Right now, this is what I have, okay? You can't go back in the house right now. It's roped off for an investigation, okay? It's closed off for investigation. Once we complete our investigation, we can turn the house back over to you, but you cannot go inside right now. >> Well, do this for me. >> Okay. >> Uh in the living room in front of the TV, bring me out a bunch of pillows. >> Okay. I can work on that for you, okay? >> Okay. Shut this door. >> All right. >> All right? >> What? >> This is so horrible. >> Watch your head. Watch your head. Hey. Okay. So, hey, so this guy is complaining about being in the back of my car. He doesn't want to be out in the cold. I told him he can't go in the house. He wants me to grab pillows out of the house. So, I I want to clear that before I try to do that. I don't think I should remove anything from the house, but Yeah, okay. Yeah. Leave this thing. Okay. So, I I can't grab anything out the house until the detective clears it, okay? He's on >> Please tell him to hurry. I I I'm dying in this vehicle. >> He's He's on the way. He's on the way, so I I can't I can't take anything out yet, okay? >> Okay. >> Everything is part of the investigation until he deems it's not, okay? I'm very sorry about that. >> I I I have never been so like this. This is This is the most horrible vehicle I've ever been in my life. >> Yeah, it's not made for comfort. I can tell you that. >> I'm going to be so [ __ ] sore from from being in this goddamn thing. >> After being taken to the patrol car, Thomas was brought into an interrogation room where he admitted that the scratches hadn't been caused by his dog, but by Linda. Though he hadn't said this before because he feared what officers would think about his wife. But the real problem came when he said that Linda was weak and feared she would pass away. To the investigators, this didn't line up as how would Linda have caused such scratches if she was so weak. His involvement seemed to have come to an end, but 3 days later Thomas called the officers again. This time revealing something that would unsettle even the most experienced investigators. >> All right, you got water, went to the bathroom, we're good, right? All right. Before we you know, we start I know you started to talk to me, but I just wanted to get you comfortable with going to the bathroom, getting you some water and everything. And of course I just want I just want to read something to you and then we can we can just, you know, go forward, okay? >> Mhm. >> All right. >> Um >> You have the right to remain silent. If you cannot to afford or hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand each of these rights as I have explained to you? >> Yes. >> I don't Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us right now? >> Okay. >> Yes or no? >> Yeah, I'll talk to you. >> Okay. So I I I I stopped you before and I didn't know what you were going to say to me, but you started saying something. >> Well, I murdered my wife and you know that, okay? I smothered her with a pillow and that is an unforgivable um crime. So, I don't want an attorney. I don't want a trial. I want the death penalty. I want to go right to the death penalty. Okay? Uh I did uh the worst thing a person could ever do. [clears throat] And uh no trial, nothing. Just put me on death row. That's what I want. >> Can you tell me a little bit more about, you know, you told me uh you know, what happened. Can you just go into exactly uh when everything happened? >> around 3:00 in the afternoon and she was real big and I don't even know why, but uh to this day I don't know why I did, but I smothered her to death with a pillow and now I want to die. >> Thomas confessed right away to his crime, but this wasn't a sudden decision. Thomas knew the officers had found the pillowcase inside his house and that his odd reaction to his wife's death, along with the scratches on him, pointed clearly to his guilt in the case. And now the overwhelming weight of the situation was settling upon him. >> I deserve to die. So, um I want to go to whatever whatever whatever prison where I'll be on death row. >> Where were you when this all happened? >> What? >> Where were you in the house when this happened? >> Right there where her body is. >> Well, her body was we found her body on the floor. >> That's where I should be. >> So, she was on the floor? >> Yes. >> How did she get to the floor? >> She had fallen out of bed. >> So, when you you told us that she fell out of bed and you had >> You found that pillowcase, all right? And that's how you knew I did it. Right? And uh you were going to arrest me eventually, so I was going to kill myself tonight. So, um that's what I want. I want the government. >> Was anybody home with you at the time? >> No. >> Um who was the last person in the house with you with you and your wife? >> Anthony. >> And [clears throat] what time did he leave? >> Mhm, no, dude. Anthony had nothing to do with anything. He just found out today. >> How did he find out? >> I told him. >> How did you tell him? >> I told him >> Was that on the phone or in person? >> I I told him that, uh I killed her and I was going to commit suicide. >> By what how did you tell him in person or on the phone or how did you >> In person. >> Okay. Um and where did you tell him that? >> Mhm, today. >> Where? >> At work. >> He went to your work? >> Um I told him on the phone I was going to kill myself. But, now instead, um I'll have the state do it. >> The investigator asked if Thomas had taken any medication that morning as it might have influenced his behavior, but Thomas was completely sober, confessing his crime without holding back. >> So, you said it was around 3:00 in the afternoon. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Um can you just go into the day, you know, when >> It was a normal day and I was stupid and for no [ __ ] reason she was irritating me. Uh I killed her. And that is an unforgivable sin. And, um I want to be and I want to burn in hell. I don't want anyone to ever remember me, just to hate me. I am a piece of [ __ ] okay? >> Um have I I just want to ask you, have you eaten anything today? Have you Have you anything today? Have you taken any medication today? >> Well, I'll need my hearing aids and I'll need my blood pressure medications, okay? Uh and no, I haven't had any lunch or anything like that. >> Okay. What what medications have you taken today? >> Uh I take two blood pressure medicines in the morning and those are the only ones I took. >> Okay. Anything else that you've taken or ingested today? >> No, I just need those two blood pressure medicines mainly mainly, you know, refills at certain times and my hearing aid chargers. >> Okay. Um so, she fell out of bed >> and then I >> Okay. And was she saying anything to you or >> Yeah, she was screaming and and I don't know why I did that. I truly do not know why. But I did. And I want to >> Can you tell me about the um uh the cuts to your face and >> She did it all, yeah. >> When? >> Right then. And all up my arms, okay? I am I am guilty. >> So, you said right then. What was When she did that, she was on the floor when she did that? >> Mhm. >> And what were you doing when when she was doing that? >> I was smoking. >> The investigators noticed a gap in Thomas's activities between 5:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. and continued asking about his steps as any crucial detail could come from them. >> Where is the um You said you used a pillow or pillowcase. Where is it right now? >> It's in the closet up on top. >> Which closet? >> The back closet. >> Okay. Up on top where? >> Far end. >> And what color is it? >> No, it's brown with the the stains all over it. >> Okay. The blood stains are from >> From when I moved her body. >> Okay. You know the closet in the bathroom, that big walk-in closet right there? >> Yeah, it was right there on the carpet. >> Okay. Okay. Um and how long do you think you were on top of her when uh >> I don't know, 15 minutes. >> [snorts] >> And then um that was around 3:00. >> Mhm. >> You left her there. >> Mhm. >> And then what did you do after that? >> Um Well, I went to work the next day. Well, actually when I came home um body was gone. >> Okay. I'm sorry, let's go back. You said 3:00 around 3:00. Okay. Um you you stated that you smothered her. Okay. Uh you got up off of her after that, correct? Okay, what did you do right after that? >> Call 911 and um >> We have a a phone call of you calling 911 at 1:30 in the morning, 1:31 in the morning. So I'm I'm asking you what you did from 3:00 in the afternoon to that 1 1:30. >> Um just did normal stuff. >> Like what? >> Eat, watch a movie. All right, and and I um you know, until such day as uh I would be able to turn myself which is going to be today. And it will just be prolonging it all, but that's what I want. >> Okay. When did you put the pillowcase in the closet? >> Um the same day. >> When? And you you >> Um almost immediately. >> Almost immediately. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> The crime seemed unbelievable even to the investigators, and over the next few minutes they began to piece together any information that could lead them to a reason. >> We do have also um I know that you have mentioned something about vomit. She vomited in the in the bathroom. Remember when you you you told us about that? >> Mhm. >> When did that occur? >> Very calm. >> Okay, so did it occur before she fell out of bed? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So wh- where were you when she fell out of bed? >> I just wanted to hurt her. The doctor. >> When she fell out of bed, where were you when she fell out of bed? >> Uh in the same room. >> In the same room. Have you already has she already vomited in in the bathroom? Was it before that? >> No, it was after that. And I don't know why you did that. I don't I don't have any clue. >> She She vomited after you >> No, before. >> Right before. So she vomited >> Mhm. >> in there. >> I cleaned her up. >> Was that before you smothered her or >> That was before. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Just want to get that straight. So she vomited in the in the bathroom. And did she retreat back to bed? >> Uh yeah. >> Okay. Do you know why she vomited? >> She was sick. >> She was just sick. You know she ate anything if >> Made her sick. >> Made her sick. >> She ate something or had a virus. She vomited and lost control of her pee. >> You don't know if she if she took something or she ingested anything or she >> I don't I don't know anything. >> That you don't know. >> No. >> But >> And the next thing I did was thing I ever did in my life. >> So you come and deal with that. You go into the room. She's already vomited and peed, right? >> Mhm. >> And then you you her But is she in the bathroom when you her? >> No, right where Where was found. >> So she vomited and peed where her body was found? >> No, that was all before. >> She was able to go from the bathroom to the front door area of your bedroom. And then that's where you smothered her right there. Okay. Was there any fight between you guys before then? Any struggle? >> Yes, and I I lost my cool more than I ever should have. >> Thomas appeared to have trouble recounting the exact events that took place the afternoon before the crime, but the investigators kept pushing. >> Can you talk about >> when was that? The struggle. Like what happened? >> I can't >> No, I know, but I'm talking about before that. I asked if you had any struggle like Did you guys go at it? >> Yes. >> Prior to that. >> Yes, and I and I I I I lost it and and I and I I smothered her to All right? My life of 53 years, the dog is because he misses her. Um, you know, I Um, I I just want to hurry the process. >> Um So, so she retreats back to bed, you're cleaning up the bathroom. >> Mhm. >> You throw the stuff in the washing machine. What do you do after that? >> I'm sorry? >> After you go to the washing machine in the laundry and you put stuff in the washing machine, what did you do after that? >> I have no idea. >> You don't remember? >> No, I have no idea. >> Well, your wife is now in bed. She No, no, no. No. You You told me You told just told us that she vomited in the bathroom and went back to bed. That's somewhere around 3:00 in the afternoon, correct? So, you start cleaning up the bathroom. She's in bed. After you clean up the bathroom, what happens next? >> Um. Um, you know, much later that night, uh, I don't know, 1:00, whatever. >> We're We're still at 3:00. We're still at 3:00. She's in bed after she vomits. >> Yeah. >> What happens next? >> Well, it wasn't till about, you know, I mean, she slept and and I slept and I woke up and found her on the floor. Uh, I don't know, 1:30 in the morning or something and I and I and I and I and I >> At this point, Thomas's story didn't seem to add up, even as he was confessing the crime. According to him, his wife had fallen and he took her life once she was on the ground, which didn't seem to have any clear reason behind it. It could mean he was lying or that he had acted in pure cold blood toward his own wife. >> Stop. Okay, hang on a second. I think we're all confused here. And so, we're just trying to, uh, recount all the steps. We know, based on what you told us, um, and the physical evidence that's there, that she's been ill all morning, all day, right? Uh, your son leaves the house probably around 9:30 ish with with the boys, mhm, right? So, you're by yourself. At some point, she gets sick around 2:00. You give her Tylenol. >> Mhm. >> At 3:00, roughly, you go to check on her and she was in the bathroom, in your master bath, where she threw up she vomited and urinated. >> And I cleaned it up. >> And you cleaned it up. You then told us she got or she made her way back into the bed. So, now she's in bed. She has not been smothered yet, cuz that's what we're asking. And then she ends up on the floor. Is So, we're asking between the bed and the floor, how what happened? You just cleaned up the vomit. She's still alive in the bed. >> She rolled out of, uh, bed and fell uh, sometime Did you see that or did you hear it? >> No, it was sometime around 1:00 in the morning. And that's That's when I >> So, you killed her at 1:00 in the morning and not 3:00 in the afternoon? >> No. 1:00 in the And then And then I called 911 after I tried to do CPR. >> Cuz then earlier you told us you killed her around 3:00 in the afternoon. >> No. >> Did we misunderstand you? >> Well, when was the 911 call? >> The 911 >> 1:30 in the morning. >> All right. That's when >> Right before. >> No. >> It wasn't after she vomited. >> No, it was when I called 911. Okay? Uh that was right before I called 911. I I could >> And all the scratches and fights and and the cuts and >> Yes, she did do that to >> And And that When did that happen? What time of day and night? >> Uh when it was >> So, at 1:00 in the morning. >> Thereabouts, yeah. >> And in in the short time of care before you called 911, you hide the pillow. >> Mhm. [clears throat] >> Okay. And prior to that, you washed your clothes because you cleaned up the body. >> Mhm. >> The investigators carefully tried to piece together the exact steps taken by Thomas in the crime, ensuring nothing would be missed during the interrogation. >> Is that accurate? Is that an accurate timeline? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz I think we were misunderstanding that you This happened at all at 3:00 and that she said that at 1:00. >> No, I killed her just before I called 911. >> Okay. Okay. So, you killed her around 1:00. You said you smothered her. Is that how you did it with two hands and a pillow? >> Mhm. >> And she having her hands up, scratching your face, trying to fight you? >> Mhm. >> And you sat there, you said, for about 15 minutes. Does that Does that sound accurate? >> died. >> Until she died. Mhm. Okay. And then that That's on the floor cuz she already fell out on her own. And that happened around what time? On her own when you So you're So you never went to bed at 10:00. Yes, I did. So you're in bed with her at 10:00. She falls out of bed. And you just get up and Okay. You had mentioned that you you did CPR on her. Did you do try to do CPR on her after you or were you just telling us that? >> No, I did try. >> And what Explain that. How What's try mean to you? >> Pump on the chest and breathe because I realized I did something terrible and she didn't come back. >> Okay. Would you say Were you Were you thinking about killing her all day? >> No. It was just very spontaneous. >> Spontaneous? What What made you snap? Like what was it? >> Um you know, I can't even explain. I don't know what in the hell I was thinking that I would destroy so many lives. >> As the investigation continued, the investigator tried to find any reason that could have led to the crime. >> So you're saying that you were home alone, nobody else was there with you. >> That's right. >> Okay. And your your wife was alive until >> 1:00 or 1:30. >> 1:00 or 1:30 a.m. >> Mhm. >> Okay. And um She vomited in the in the afternoon. Uh around that was like I think you said >> We've been through this 10 times. The story hasn't changed. I killed her. That's all that matters. >> Okay. Okay. Um After you and then also I noticed at your house you had a lot of clothes that you put out on the side of the house. >> Yeah, I was throwing some stuff away. >> And what was that you were throwing away? >> Um things I thought I would never need because I was going to commit suicide but I got arrested before I did. >> All right. Was it just your things that you threw out? >> I have no idea. It's just a bunch of crap that needed to go. >> Where did you get that stuff from? >> My house. >> Where in the house? >> Um probably the closets or something. I don't know. >> So was it clothing? >> Yeah, some of it. >> Okay. And just stuff that you just didn't need and you just wanted to get rid of. >> Yeah, and I shouldn't wasted my time doing that but I did. >> Well, why is it a waste of your time? >> Um I should have just left everything as it is. >> Okay. Can you tell me about um you you spoke you said you you spoke to Anthony today. Uh from the office on the phone. >> Mhm. >> What was that discussion about? >> I told him what I did. >> How did it start out? Like you you you called him up or he called you? >> I called him up and told him that I did and I was going to commit suicide. >> What did he say? >> Well, he tried to talk me out of it but I told him he wouldn't be able >> And um what were your plans? Like what what were you thinking of doing? Did you have any plans? >> shoot myself in the head in a place where only he could find the body. >> And where would that be? >> Um I was going to shoot myself in the head behind Publics where there are a bunch of mattresses and I was going to get in one of those mattresses and um I was going >> Okay. Did you know the gun that you were going to use? >> Yeah. >> Which one was that? >> Um the one that I keep below the bed stand. >> And where is that now? >> I don't know. I can't find it. >> Okay. So if you couldn't find it >> And then I would have used my .45. >> And where is that >> That's in you probably saw it. It's It's in the bedroom or the study room I have. >> Okay. Um So how was Anthony going to be able to to find to find you? Did you Did you tell him this or did you have instructions for him You had instructions for him? How? >> I told him where he would find me. >> Okay. Was Was there Did you Did you write the instructions to him? >> No, I told him. >> You told him. Okay. Um And that was going to be behind >> I'm in a Publix. >> Um how did you get to work today, by the way? >> What are you talking about? >> Did you drive to work? >> When? >> Today. >> Yes. >> What car did you use? >> Um my wife's. >> Your wife's. And which is the Acura? >> Uh-huh. >> Right. It's in It's in the parking lot right now. Um Is there any guns in that car? >> No. >> Okay. >> [snorts] >> Did you Did you write anything to your to your son at all? >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. And what was it What did you write to him? >> Um how much money he was going to get when I die. >> And how much was that? >> Um 600 uh thousand dollars. >> Okay. Just to him? >> Mhm. >> He's the sole beneficiary of my my wife, uh everybody. >> Did your wife have a life insurance policy? >> Mhm. >> And who was that life insurance policy with? >> Uh Orlando Health. >> With Orlando Health? And how much was her life insurance policy? >> 50,000. >> Any other life insurance policy that she had? >> That was it. And I had two policies. Um one worth 50,000 and the other one worth 490 some thousand dollars. >> Both with Orlando Health? Or or do you have another company? >> No, all through our Orlando Health. I have uh total uh somewhere around 600,000 dollars uh that he he gets because uh he's the beneficiary. >> Okay. And not your daughter? >> No. My daughter's uh really irresponsible, kind of was homeless. >> Okay. Um Were there any other um instructions that you had uh left for your son or that you told your son um well, you had said you left him instructions, but was there anything else that you had mentioned? >> just told him uh you know, uh I was going to die and uh when he found the body. >> Mhm. Did you um Have you been experiencing any um any issues with finances >> Mhm. >> recently? No? Um no debts, no problems with fi- with money, no problems >> financially >> fine. >> W- W- Where does this lead you? >> Well, I I just want to >> I mean, I killed my wife and I'm going to go to prison and and so all of this is just your fault. >> I just want to know why, that's all. >> I don't know why. I thought my life might be better without her. Okay, but it isn't. >> Why would Why do you think your life would be better without your wife? >> Cuz we fought constantly and she was really nasty. And I was a fool, made a real stupid mistake. >> Do you have Do you have any other any Were you seeing anybody, any other love interest or anything like that? >> No, everything was normal. >> Friends with anybody else that you spent time with? >> no. >> No. >> I haven't seen anybody in a long time. I've had just work. I had a broken pelvis and that's it. >> How'd you break your pel- pelvis again? >> Fell off my bike. >> At this point, there was nothing the investigator could do. There didn't seem to be any major reason behind the crime other than the fact that Thomas truly seemed to have an unsettling feeling toward his wife, which unfortunately ended tragically. >> Well, I appreciate your honesty. >> I've been doing doing this for homicide for about 20 years out here in Los Angeles and Florida. So >> I'm tough situations. >> I'm in I'm in peace with all of this. I'm I'm not upset. >> Yeah. >> I um very comfortably um with all my heart wanted to be dead. And that's my intent one way or another. >> And then >> [sighs] >> And Anthony knows. He knows now? >> I told him today. >> What time did you tell him? >> This morning. >> Did you leave a voicemail? >> I told him personally. >> Oh, he came to the All right, oh, this morning when you woke up? >> Mhm. >> So you're [clears throat] in the house. Where do you tell him? >> I told him I uh I his mother and >> Were you in the living room or were you in the kitchen or >> Uh I don't which room and I his mother and I plan on myself tonight. >> What was his reaction? >> He understood. >> What do you mean by that? Did he say he understood? >> Yes, he understood and accepted what I was going to do. >> Was he upset? >> Yeah, but you know, I told him and he was accepting of the idea. I I killed his mother and he did not disagree with me. So, what happens next? >> Well, that's for the lead detective to tell you, but obviously let me go get him. He he can tell you. If this was my case, I would tell you, but but I'm just assisting him, okay? >> I'm assuming I'm going to Orange County now. >> Right, yeah, you're going to be under arrest. >> And then later moved to some other prison. >> Right. Right. Right. So, but just hang tight. Just hang in here. >> In the end, Thomas was sentenced to 12 years in prison for second-degree murder.
