All right, we're going to hold right, work left. Hold right, work left. Let's go. >> You come out here like this, slam me on the ground, put your knee in my back, scare my daughter. >> Hey, you don't tell me to sit down. >> You made me sit down. There's a lawsuit. That is a dealer. We do not deal at all here. >> On March 4th, 2025, deputies from the Flaggler County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit rolled into a quiet stretch on the outskirts of Bunnel, Florida. For weeks, neighbors had been flooding the department with complaints. Strange cars pulling in at all hours, suspicious visitors, and talk of heavy drug activity. That morning, the sheriff's office decided it was time to put an end to it. The search warrant was ready, and within minutes, the entire property was surrounded. >> Year those cars bang out. Get out there. >> Not going to announce. Yeah. >> Sheriff's office. >> Open the door now. >> OPEN THAT DOOR. >> SHERIFF'S OFFICE. OPEN THAT DOOR. >> OPEN THE DOOR. Come out. Come out. >> Come out. Come out. >> Come out, ma'am. We got to search one. All right. Everything's all right. Come on out. >> Come out. >> Is there anybody else in the RV? >> No. >> Is there any dogs in there? >> My my baby puppy. >> Okay. Anyone bite? >> No. >> Okay. >> Bring her over there. >> All right. Go over there, man. >> Go over there. Secure. Stop. Sir, come to the front door. >> Inside the first RV, deputies found 55-year-old Margaret Rush. Startled but compliant, the team cleared the small trailer for any hiding occupants or potential threats before moving deeper onto the property. >> All right, I'm with you. >> Yeah, just hold that. What you got? >> Bathroom left. Bathroom left. White County search warrant. >> Sharers off search warrant. Clear. Clear. Good. Clear. All right. >> Coming to you. We got one secured RV3 or four. >> Team three to talk. Let's walk around. >> Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the compound, another SWAT team approached a different RV. But what they found inside wasn't the kind of discovery anyone expected during a raid. 568. This is the flag county sheriff's office. We have a search warrant for your res. Contact. >> He's put his pants on. >> Hey, once we get him out, >> we're not going to hurt you, bud. Hey, >> Nick. >> You okay? >> You okay? >> An elderly man opened the door, completely stunned to see armed deputies and tactical gear staring back at him. It didn't take long for them to realize he had nothing to do with sales or trafficking. He was just another tenant on a property that had turned into a local nuisance. >> I can't see to the left. >> Yeah, there's a a fridge on your immediate left. All right. >> Okay. I'm going to probably cross him. Button hook in. >> You're going to button hook in. >> All right, we're going to hold right, work left. Hold right, work left. Let's go. >> 5638. >> You got enough. Come to the front with your hands up. >> Push up. to move up. >> Sheriff's office. >> Hey, push one down to them. Push one down to them. >> Mr. Crouch. Is anybody else in that RV? >> Okay. Put your hands behind me. >> There's a dog in there. >> Is it aggressive? >> No. >> It's just a puppy. >> Here. Step over here. >> I got you. Stop right here. >> Do you have anything on you? >> Yeah, we can. >> Stand up real quick. >> No weapons on you. >> No. See? >> No one. No one's injured. >> Okay. You okay? >> Yeah. Just the heart. >> Stomach hurts. >> Mr. match. >> Okay. >> Oh, I'm sorry. It's Margaret Dudley. >> They'll try to get your glasses. Just one second. >> I I don't know. >> Once every once we deem everything's safe, we'll find comfortable places for you guys to sit, okay? And we'll explain everything that's going on if you haven't figured it out already. >> As each trailer and the main house were cleared, residents were escorted outside. Most stayed quiet and cooperative except for one, 38-year-old David Price. His temper flared the moment deputies approached, barking orders back, swearing and demanding answers. Sitting next to him was his wife, 30-year-old Clara Sans Benfield. >> My child, >> yeah, you think it's funny. I've seen on TV before. I hope I'm on TV. >> It's okay. >> Treat me like this. >> I don't know what's going on because nobody will tell us anything. >> Price's aggression didn't help. If anything, it made the deputies more determined to find out what was really going on inside that RV. >> Oh, no. The least they can do is tell us here. >> Yep. Right back. Crazy. >> Oh, but you're not going to stay right there. Stay right there, man. >> Well, you know what though? The bad ones moved out already. >> I know. >> You can sit on it. >> Yes. >> This is crazy. >> I This is [ __ ] >> This is because of them and they're gone. Oh, I I can only imagine. >> Sure it is because of them. And now we got Danny Hes. >> Look at you. I'm scared of my daughter. My daughter piece of >> [ __ ] Listen. She don't even know what's going on. >> You guys You guys listen. >> Don't tell me nothing. You come out here like this. Slam me on the [ __ ] ground. Put your knee in my [ __ ] back. Scare my [ __ ] daughter. >> I can be nice to you or >> You can be nice. I want a name and badge number. NAME AND BADGE NUMBER. >> Two days late. What's your name and badge number? >> Commander Emerson, I just walked up. I'm trying to explain to you. Are you listening? >> I'm listening right now. >> We have a search warrant for your residence for all the properties. >> I understand that. >> Explain everything in just a minute. >> That's not HOW YOU DO. THAT'S NOT HOW YOU DO. >> ANY complaints you can get with me? >> Oh, I'm going to >> I got to sit. >> Sit down. >> I can't sit that low. I'm disabled. >> They don't give a man. I'm saying my leg is cutting the legs off of my leg. Hey, as soon as we clear these houses, we're going to get you a chair. Okay, >> a chair. I need to get out of this [ __ ] I'm not under arrest. >> Why the do you have me in here? You are [ __ ] I'm suing you. You cannot put me in this unless I'm under arrest. You understand? Get me out. >> Who the [ __ ] you think you are? That's my personal effects. You'll just take something on my property. That's a lawsuit. The you guys hovering over me for search and pat down for what? >> You better stand me up. >> You going to go to work and this is what I'm dealing with. Flag of theing sheriffs. Where'sing Rick Stanley trying to show his little ass on the video? I ain't do [ __ ] THEY HAVE ME IN HANDCUFF. I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE LIKE THIS. They know detainment is hate. Stand there. MY DAUGHTER'S SEEN Y'ALL. >> MY DAUGHTER'S seen y'all. >> We're going to get you up and take a chair. Okay. >> Yeah. I want my personal effects on me. >> So, can you stand me up, please? >> Give him my personal effects, please. >> No, you're not taking. >> As the residents were gathered beneath a carport on the property, detectives pushed forward with their search, and the deeper they went, the worse the scene became. Should be a dog inside. >> Yep, there's a dog inside. >> Sheriff's office. Search warrant. >> Sheriff's office. >> Dog on the ground. Dog right here. >> Sheriff's office. Serge warrant. >> Sheriff's Office warrant. >> What happened? >> We're just trying to get this door open here. >> Wait a minute. It pops open this this way. You >> ready? Hold on. Back up. All right. Clear. >> All right. Same thing over here. >> Clear. >> You guys good? >> You good, bro? >> Yeah. >> He's just checking the back corner behind the bed. It's a cluster right there. board. >> Yeah, >> there's boards on the inside. >> I am the hole. Clear. While searching different areas of the property, deputies were hit by a foul, heavy odor that clung to everything. Among the mess, small amounts of marijuana, and paraphernalia were discovered inside the RVs. Not the large-scale operation they'd been tipped about, but enough to confirm the tip offs were true. David, however, wasn't done. With a long history of run-ins with law enforcement, he claimed he knew the law better than the deputies, lecturing the officers as they tried to keep the situation calm. >> Medical attention or anything? >> Okay. >> You can just sit in one of these. All right. >> Sit down. >> Put it in my pocket. >> Sit down. >> You're detained right now. Sit down. >> Detained. You don't tell me to sit up and sit down. >> I'm telling you to sit down. >> NO, YOU ASK. >> HEY, you don't TELL ME TO SIT DOWN. >> You make me sit down. There's a lawsuit. >> Sit down. >> You can ask. Are you asking or you telling? >> I'm not yelling at you. >> Are you asking or telling? >> Asking you to sit down. >> I'll sit down if you ask. >> Sit down. >> Not noing dog. >> I wasn't treating you like that. >> YES, YOU ARE. LOOK HOW YOU GOT ME. THAT'S TREATING ME like a dog. >> I didn't do any of that. Other people may >> Where's my phone? I don't want my phone over there. >> Y'all come here and don't even say what you have a search warrant for. >> I got to tell you in 2 seconds. >> Well, I've been waiting. 2 seconds has been gone. >> We're waiting, >> too. >> And so you can't loosen this. This is cutting my blood circulation off. >> The only way to loosen those is to cut them off. You can't loosen. >> Well, cut them off and put A NEW SET ON. I'M NOT ARRESTED. >> SO, that doesn't give you a right to put me in handcuffs. >> Yes, it does. No, it does not. >> That's a detainment. I'm not going to argue with you. >> You want to argue? I'm going to argue in court. I know what the definition is between being handcuffed and not. I've been arrested plenty of times. >> That's what court's for. >> Yeah, that's what court's for, right? So, I can sue you individually. Each one of you individually personally. >> Go for it. >> I will. A dollar for every time I heard that, I'd be rich. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> That's [ __ ] [ __ ] Y'all better not do nothing to my dogs. So, what's the warrant for? >> They're going to tell you. >> You didn't tell two seconds. That's not our unit. They're going to tell you >> who who >> narcotics unit. We'll come read the warrant to you guys. Okay. >> Wow. Narcotics unit. >> Two days late. >> At first I thought somebody was somebody else. >> The crowd. >> I thought somebody was >> I know they're lucky. You guys can't go off people's property like they would go to get shot coming out here [ __ ] boo. >> I mean come on now. You don't identify yourself, but police first before you. >> That's what the announcements are for. >> No, that's what you say. You say you're a police officer. >> I'm not going to argue with you. >> You don't have to argue. You don't tell me I can't talk. This is America. >> You can't. I'm not. I'm just saying. >> Okay. Stop talking. Telling me to stop talking. You think I'm not supposed to be pissed. This is how you treat people. >> Can I say that? >> Nobody's Nobody. >> Yeah, I know. Y'all funny guys. Not everybody's a drug dealer. >> You understand that? That's why everybody >> Well, that's why you understand that. That's why you have me like this throwing your telling me to shut up and then when I didn't shut up you put your [ __ ] knee in my back. >> I didn't do that so I can't answer that. >> Well, whoever did that is going to pay. >> Hey, that's fine. I didn't do that. >> Don't tell people to shut up and throw them down the ground. Put their knee back. But they didn't do nothing. I was complying with you guys. >> Okay. And I and I listen. I apologize. I was not there so I can't speak on that behalf. Okay. >> I was over here. >> So I don't know what happened over there. >> That's cuz you >> got a headache out in the world man. When the narcotics unit arrived to explain the search warrant to him, David's tone shifted, but he quickly realized that the evidence had already spoken for itself and the outcome was inevitable. >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> Why you all screwing up you guys? >> Because I'm allowed. If you guys don't like it, then maybe you shouldn't be here. >> Cuz I didn't do nothing. This is part of the reason because I was complying and said, "Come back with your hands up and I'm complying." And because they don't want me to talk when I can't even hear their commands cuz they're boom boom boom. I'm coming back with my hands back. They slam down, throw a knee in my back and tighten these things so tight I could barely evening. My blood was being cut off. But you expect me to be happy about that? >> That's how you I expect >> Well, there you go. That's your goddamn reasoning. >> What are you expecting to get done by yelling at SW? >> I don't give a [ __ ] I don't get no I can't get nothing done. I can't move. But guess what? You ain't going to tell me to shut up. Be quiet because that's my constitutional right. >> I I don't really >> Okay. So, well, I don't really give a [ __ ] >> I don't know what it is that you're screaming about. >> I told you what I'm screaming about. I told them several times. Look at that [ __ ] >> You think you're the only one here? You got children here. >> MY DAUGHTER SEEN HOW EXACTLY HOW YOU GUYS OPERATE. She ain't going to like it neither. She's scared to because of you guys. I mean, >> look. Look. >> Search war. You saw you on? >> Yeah. I mean, I don't need to see the search warrant. I said you wanted them to read. >> I wanted to know what you guys were here for. >> That's what that is. >> Search warrant. >> Okay. But who for? >> Everybody. >> The property. >> Why? >> Because you guys use a deal. >> Not us. >> The you guys don't. >> Oh, wow. >> You hear that, Mr. Max? >> WE DON'T DO DEAL. I WORK FOR YOU. >> WHO? EVERYBODY. >> NO, THEY DON'T, MOTHER. >> OKAY. >> We do not deal drugs at all here. Some other people. >> No, we don't use them. >> Huh? So you use I smoke pot. >> There we go. >> That's it. Crime. >> Who? >> You can't take me. >> You can't. >> What are you taking me for? >> For who? >> Charges for who? >> Wow. Come on, officer. >> Oh, now you want to be all >> Come on. I don't did anything wrong. >> Okay. Listen, man. You want to call the scene? >> I'm not causing the scene. Y'all y'all hurt me. >> Is there anybody? >> Okay. Well, then give me a try. Give me one more chance. I don't know if anybody >> I didn't do anything wrong. And when I go to court, they're going to do the same thing. >> I'll see you in court. >> Why are y'all doing this to me? I didn't do anything. >> You want to do >> I didn't do it anything. >> All right. They're coming up and something. >> All right, Dave. Listen, I'm read this now. All right, since we're over here. >> All right, David. You have the right to sign anything you say. Maybe is evidence against you. You have the right to talk to an attorney of him or her with you now. Only come during question. attendant foreign attorney want to be a corner to resend you if any time you wish stop attorney present all question stopping your requests you understand these rights >> yes what am I being arrested for >> I already told you >> you can't arrest someone for >> what under what crime did I commit though >> there's no crime committed >> there's no crime committed >> since we started you just been yelling >> yeah that's not a crime that's not a crime come on now you guys can't just take me that's not a crime >> away from me It's not a crime. >> That's not a crime. It's a crime to yell not to listen to it. >> But that's not a crime to not to listen to you. And I was I was sitting down. I WAS SITTING DOWN. YOU GOING TO HAVE TO SHOW IT ON VIDEO. I WAS SITTING DOWN. >> You said n Take a second and stop yelling. >> Come on. You guys can't take me, man. >> You said numerous times that I did sit down. I complied everything with you guys. >> No, you didn't. I walked back. I walked back and I put these things on. They put them on. I complied the whole time. pull you over here is because everyone over there sitting quiet. Okay. >> Okay. So, let me >> That's your daughter, right? >> Yes. I got >> neighbors are literally putting up signs that say house next door. >> We don't do drugs. >> Have a seat. >> David, sit down. >> I'll I'll hang your >> At this point, David, Clara, Margaret, and Howard were all placed under arrest and transported to the Flaggler County Jail. Why? God, why? Why? And those two get toing stay. Can I at least say goodbye to her? Can I at least say goodbye to my daughter? >> No, you're not. She's leaving. Come on. That's my daughter, bro. Please, please, >> sir. >> Ma'am, >> are we going or am I going to the same spot my husband is? >> Yeah. Yeah. Everybody's going to the flatter county jail. >> I was just wondering if I was going to see him or not. >> Um, not like one-on-one like contact. No, but we're all that's where we're all going right now. >> Okay. >> Is there a reason why they had to take both of us? >> Did they not explain it to you? No, I mean I don't see why both of us had to go. >> Y'all were talking for a decent amount of time. >> Yeah, but you guys have made your mind up already, bro. Nothing I said didn't matter. >> Okay. Are you going to be combative at the jail? >> No. >> I need to know. >> Um, I got to do what I got to do to get out. I need a bunch. No. >> Yeah. >> All right. I'm I'm I'm Listen, I'm suggesting you not be combative. >> It's not going to go well. >> I'm not. >> All right. I just Do you know if they let him know about my daughter and that we were going to try to contact Brandy and Deborah? >> They were talking to him when I was doing my round. So, okay. >> I I I'm not going to say yes or no. Something like that. >> So, you're not sure. It's okay. >> I don't know. >> I I just was curious cuz I know he was upset that they took her. I just >> I they they were talking to cuz he wanted a necklace to go with her, but we told him it was just like necessity items right now and they were talking to him about kind of what was going on. So, >> it's her jewelry that we bought her her cross. >> I got you. >> Yeah. I I don't know for sure, but I know they were talking to him about what was going on. So, I just don't know specifically what was >> I just wanted to try to make let him know that. >> When we get there, I'll make sure I'll make sure we >> Okay. >> Yeah. That way he knows that they're going to try to contact them. >> Yeah. >> So, hopefully if she can still be with, you know, somebody she knows All I want is to be able to get a bond to get out because this is all ridiculous. I understand how it looks with your guys' view of of the situation, but you guys are not you guys have no kind of opportunities. You have no kind of help from people like us. So your your your choice of help is let's lock everybody up and take away the dogs and the kid. That's That's your solution. >> In the end, David Price and his wife Clara were both charged with neglect and animal cruelty, while David, Margaret Rush, and Howard Crouch faced possession charges for and marijuana found on the property. They all bonded out later that same day. It didn't take long before David's name surfaced in connection with Flaggler County again. This time, not in an arrest report, but in a string of Facebook comments accusing the sheriff's office of corruption and vowing that they'd be sued soon.
