The officer explained the situation. Meanwhile, Rojas sat in the back of the patrol car, already knowing how the rest of the night was going to go. >> Nobody who's sat in this chair has ever thought they did anything wrong. Okay? I'm telling you. >> Yeah, that's good. >> Every agency has a certain policy, and I don't know what yours is. Every agency has a policy on whether you get arrested for DUI and whether or not you blow. I don't know what yours is, so >> It looks good. It's all good. How does your booking work? >> Well, we got to go across the street, literally across the street to the jail. Come on. Don't give that [ __ ] We're supposed to be brothers, right? >> I would never flee for you. That's what I would do. Trust me. >> Yeah. >> Back inside, Rojas noted he had six and a half years on the job. He said this was not how it was supposed to go, that they were supposed to look out for their own. The sergeant heard him out. Then he said he could not do it. The camera was on. The supervisor had arrived on scene. The speeds were documented. The chase was on record. In the end, Rojas was not convicted of DUI or felony fleeing. A Monroe County jury found Donovan Rojas not guilty on those charges, but did convict him of misdemeanor reckless driving. At the time of the reported verdict, Miami-Dade police said he remained suspended without pay while internal affairs continued reviewing the case. To date, it remains unclear whether he is currently active with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.
