On March 4th, 2025, officers were dispatched in response to reports of a collision. The vehicle that struck a car parked on the side of the road continued driving before ultimately stopping due to sustained damage. A bystander pulled over and placed the occupants in their vehicle until officers arrived on scene. >> Saw a couple units rolled past me with their red and blue on. Is there another car up there? We're trying to figure out and then put the gas on and then pulled in front of me. >> They left. >> Yes. >> Did you get the license plate at all? >> No. No. >> Happened so fast. >> Okay. Uh, are any of you all injured? >> No. None of the kids are. >> Are you all okay? >> Nobody hurts. Nothing hurts? No. >> Do you have your driver's license on you? >> My insurance, >> right? Where's your insurance? >> You haven't had anything to drink or anything like that, have you? You know, you don't take any prescription medication that may off you driving. No. >> All right. Well, I'll try to find that stuff for me. Okay. I'll be back here in a second. >> Well, we can't leave yet. Just so that we got a second. Uh, did you ever find your insurance? >> Yes. >> So, I'll be in the same location. Who's Who's >> He's my boyfriend. >> He knows that. >> How do you see it? >> So, where is the insurance? >> My phone number is not >> Hey, guys. >> How are you all? >> I'm okay. >> All right, buddy. So, I just got some questions for you. Okay. Is that your mom? >> Yes, >> that is your mom. Yes. >> Okay. >> Is she okay? >> Um I don't know. She was after >> she has she taken any medicine lately or has she did you see her drinking anything like >> I don't know I just got picked up from school you saw mommy take medicine >> uh yesterday >> yesterday. Okay. Did you take anything today? >> Did you see her take any medicine today? >> No. Okay. Um how old are you, buddy? >> I'm 13 years old. >> 13. Okay. Um your mom's not in trouble or anything like that. Okay. I'm I'm just trying to figure out >> kind of what happened, what's going on. Okay. Yes, sir. >> Um, does your mom drink alcohol on a regular occasion or anything like that? >> Um, >> like when you guys are home? >> Occasionally. She does. >> You drink alcohol every day or every other day or once in a while? >> Uh, >> and you're not in trouble either. Okay. So, I don't I don't want you to feel like you're in trouble or anything like that. >> It's here and there. Yeah. Frequently, but not every day. No. >> Okay. And do you know if she does if she takes or does anything else? Like, have you ever seen your mom do any kind of drugs or anything like that? >> No. >> No. >> Okay. Okay. >> To your knowledge, she doesn't take any like prescription medication. So, what that means is like >> Well, she has told me before that she does take a prescription for something, but I don't know what it's for. >> That's okay. Does she take it every day, you know, or is it like >> I think she's supposed to. She says it has something to do with a mental health or something. >> Okay. >> I don't know much information about it. >> Okay. And did you see how mom wrecked at all? Did you see what happened? Um, I wasn't paying much much attention, but she was driving pretty fast next to the semi-truck and she swerved on the right after these cars and then there was these other cars and then I didn't really see what happened. I was looking down um at my backpack cuz I was just now putting it down. So, I didn't see where we really are. And then all a sudden >> um and you're not hurt. Nothing hurts. >> No. Um Fletcher, nothing hurts. >> No. Savannah, you okay, sweetie? You okay? Nothing hurts. No boo boos. Yes. No boo boo, huh? >> Okay. Very good. All right. >> All right. Um, so she's got to go. She's got some personal stuff going on. Um, is there anybody that you can call to come pick you guys up? >> She I mean, she was nice enough to stop and make sure you guys were good, but that's not her responsibility, right? >> She just has personal things going on and she's got to go here shortly. Um, so do you have anybody to come get you or hand your kids? >> No. >> Okay. So, I'm just talking. All right. So, you see this trailer oil right here for your car? >> Right. There's another car up there with rear end damage. Okay. See where I'm going with this? >> Okay. Right. Your trail of oil that goes all the way to your vehicle, tracks all the way back over there to that car with rear end. You have front end days. >> Okay. >> Right. >> You see where I'm going with this? >> Yes. >> So, you tell me anything, talk about anything. >> Just going to take pictures. >> Okay. Take pictures for what? >> Just So, we have multiple witnesses saying that a green van, >> right, fled from there, right? Green van. >> Fled from there where that other wreck is. And this is where you stopped because you couldn't go any further because the car shut down on you, right? You ran out of radiator fluid. You ran out of oil. Car ain't going no more, >> right? >> So, can you uh >> Did you hit that other car? >> I'm out here 30th. >> I mean, it's up to you because either either way, right, that leads me to believe that this vehicle was involved in that same wreck you tried to run or whatever you did. I don't know. I'm not accusing you of running, but you you tried to do something. You've been very erratic. You've been very nervous. You've been very defensive. Your body language, >> your physical language, everything has been off. Like, you're being very defensive and you don't want to talk about anything. >> This is not um >> Hold up. We're good. One second. >> This is not Can you Can you come here for one second? Um Can you Can you stop here? Hey. Hey. What's your name again? is progressive or all say all >> because I >> you're acting very erratic. >> I I take medication. I do take >> I asked you that earlier. I said, "Did you take medication?" >> I I do take medication. I take >> For what? >> For ADHD. >> Okay. >> I take Adder. Okay. >> I didn't take it this morning. Okay. >> Did you take it today and you took too much on accident? >> No, I don't. I I actually don't take it by accident. Like I I I sleep in and I don't take it. I'm supposed to take it. >> So that's what happens is I I I'm supposed to take it and I don't take it. >> Scott's going to go put these kiddos in the car so they're not getting hit. Right. >> We're going to keep talking about stuff. We'll be able to >> You want us to wait there? >> This is my intro. I mean >> Yes, I know. my information. Hey, I don't know what's calm down. >> Calm down. Take a breath. You're good. Okay. Nobody's going to jail. Nobody Everybody's okay. >> I I freeze. I don't know what's going on. >> I haven't man if they got a bottle or something like that. We shouldn't be too much longer back. >> I have insurance. >> I get you have medical a medical condition, right? >> But that doesn't exempt you from when I ask you a clear, dry cut, black and white question. There's no gray. There's no wishy-washy. Do you take medication? You said no. >> Yes, I I do. >> Okay. Why lie about it? >> I don't know. >> You got three kids in your car, >> right? They weren't wearing seat belts, whatever. I mean, >> no, they were. >> Okay, that's fine. That's fine. But >> you hit a car. You fled the scene. >> No, I didn't hit a car. A car hit me. >> That is tailtale damage that you hit a car. A car was stopped. You ran into the back of it, right? I'm not saying you're at fault, but that's the picture that that paints, right? Either way, KY's a no fault state, so whatever we put in the report is not going to determine fault, >> right? >> That's not >> Somebody didn't hit you. Somebody didn't run into you head on. This is a one-way highway. >> Yes. Yes. But they kept going. >> Okay. I mean, >> are you sure you didn't hit them and you kept rolling and they spun out and stopped and like you just didn't see it? >> Oh, no. I tried to I I wanted to stop right away. >> Why didn't >> like if there was a collision? >> Why didn't you stop? >> I did stop it right away. >> Your trail of oil goes all the way back at least 1,000 y. You did not stop until way down here. The impact happened way back there. >> Oh, no. >> Okay. So, I don't I I guess I didn't know what >> you said. All right. I'm not being I just want to make this clear. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm not trying to be mean. I'm not trying to be a smartass. I'm not trying to be any type of way. I'm being clearcut, black and white, as crystal clear as I can be. >> I'm like under a lot of stress and that's it. That's it. That's it. I don't >> You're okay. Did Did your car when it not stop or did you have anxiety? >> I have anxiety. You guys nervous? >> That explains a lot. Okay, so all three of your kids were in here when that happened. Go get in the car with Scott right now. Go get in the car with Scott. Hey, >> you know what I mean? Like >> you're good. You're good. Go get in the car with Scott. Okay, you all are not leaving just yet. We'll be back with you in just one more second and then we'll have you out of here. Okay. >> Officers allowed the woman to leave with her children. Her vehicle was towed to a parking lot at the next exit so she could arrange for further towing at a later time. The woman stated that she was from Canada and claimed she was unaware that she was required to stop after being involved in a collision. It was also discovered that her vehicle registration had been expired for a year. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
