On January 29th, 2023, deputies responded to a shopping plaza after a parking lot argument escalated into an alleged assault involving an elderly woman and another driver. >> So, what was going on? >> I was caught in the handicapped spot and I went to back out. I was leaving and this car just came in fast and I was out and she she went over here by 8:30. So as I came out, her boyfriend got out of the car and I said, "Why would you cut me off like that? You saw me pulling out." And she's proceeding to take pictures of me. >> Mhm. >> Which I was, you know, the windows are dark, but I was like going like this and that really was it. So I don't know, you know, she never responded, but it annoyed me because I mean she just zoomed by and then as I was trying to get out, she was like on a horizontal And they're gone. >> What? >> And they're gone. >> No, she go of the vape store to let my husband out cuz he was going to get out and I was going to park. >> Um, she pulled up next to us as my husband was exiting the vehicle and said a bunch of derogatory stuff to to myself or my husband and I told her, you know, just go, lady. >> And she pulled right in front of my car and blocked me in, proceeded to get out of her vehicle, come over to my door. I recorded the entire incident. um and yanked my door open, scratched me all the way down my arm. >> I yanked the door back and walked it as fast as I could. I had two small kids in the car and everyone came out of the bait store to see if I was okay. I was just trying to get anyone's attention from inside the store. and she just thought it was hilarious. >> Yeah. Don't play it from the very beginning. >> Okay. For me. >> After discovering that Granny had lied and started the whole incident herself, officers went back to confront her. That's when everything really went off the rails. >> Hi. You lied to me. me. >> Yeah, I just watched a video of what you actually did. >> What did I do? >> You went up to their car and opened the door and reached in and grabbed her. >> I did not grab >> I just watched a video. Don't call me a liar. >> I did not grab her. >> I just watched a video of you opening her door and reaching >> the video. >> I don't have to show you the video. I can just take you to jail. Step out of the car. >> I never grabbed her, officer. Ever. >> She's got a scratch in her arm and you you opened her door. I never >> You opened her door and then reached in. >> I never ever >> I don't care what you have to say at this point because I just watched a video, right? You never said any of this occurred a minute ago, right? >> Because it didn't happen. >> I just watched a video. >> Well, it never happened. I never ever touched her. I >> Then why did you break into her car to commit a crime? >> I didn't break into a car. >> Opening a door is is breaking into a car. I did not. >> You didn't tell me any of this when I just talked to you, did you? >> Because I didn't do it. >> Okay. The video shows me different. >> Okay. So, now what? Um, >> stand over there. >> Um, what >> is there a pet in the car? What is that? >> Oh, that's my uh Okay. >> All right. >> Groceries. >> Oh, stand over there. >> I have groceries. That's it. >> I don't care. >> Do you have a pen and a piece of paper? I'm like jittery and I need you could just write it down for me. >> I just can't believe that she did that. And you were parked right here the whole time when she >> I was parked in front of the beep store. I pulled down after the emergency department told me to get away from her. >> Mhm. >> You know, someone who you think was older than you would have a little bit more sense. And I said that to her. I said, "I have kids in my car. please. >> And you tried to pull the door back closed. >> Yeah, I pulled the door back closed after she had reached in and walked in. So that's my husband coming out of the store. >> All right, I'll be back with you. >> Thank you. >> So she does want to pursue charges. >> I'm sorry. She does want to pursue charges. >> She does? >> Yes. >> Okay. Do you have any reasons for your actions of opening her car door and reaching in? >> I I >> don't say you didn't do it again because that was a lie the first time. Okay. So, I'm going to give you a chance to tell me the truth. >> It I opened the car door, but I never ever >> It shows you reaching in. >> The video shows you reaching in. >> Pulled the car door. >> Yeah. Which rightfully so, cuz you were reaching in. >> No, I wasn't in. Yeah, >> I watched a video. >> I never reached in. >> She pul You reached in and she pulled the door shut. >> Never. I would never grab her. >> Even with the footage playing in front of her, she kept denying she had touched anyone. I have to admit, arguing with video evidence takes a level of confidence I could never understand. >> No, I don't have to let you go talk to her. You just assaulted somebody. I'm not going to let you go talk to her and assault her again. >> I didn't assault her. I mean, you make it sound like You make it sound like I you know that >> I'm not like that at all. >> I didn't you know you you're making it sound assault like I >> assault is touch. >> Make it sound like what? >> You make it sound >> Wait. No, no, no. Back up. Tell me Tell me I'm wrong. >> I didn't tell you. >> You You're telling me I'm wrong. You're making You're sounding like blocking a car in, opening the car door, and going after the person is is somehow acceptable. >> Where are you from that that's acceptable? >> I didn't go in there. >> Where are you from that that's acceptable? >> Well, it's not acceptable. >> There you go. She got I parked and let my husband out of the car and she pulled up next to us and came to a stop and said some derogatory things to my >> Now when you say pulled up next to you like right next to you here on the >> We were up against the curb here and I was letting him exit the vehicle on passenger side and she was right next to us. She came to a stop and blocked traffic so that everyone behind us couldn't go. >> Okay. >> Um she pulled in front of my car blocking me in. >> Okay. um exited her vehicle and I picked up my phone and started recording. At that point, I didn't realize that my car was unlocked because it was still in drive. I wasn't trying to record. >> Mhm. >> And she came up to the car and pulled the door open, reached inside my car. I yanked the car door back as fast as I could. Sorry. >> You're okay. I had two small kids in the car, so I locked the door as fast as I could and she just thought it was hilarious. Um, I pulled I I tried to pull forward and she had gotten back into her car and I had gotten on the phone. That's the point I got on the phone with 911 and called. >> Obviously, you do want to pursue charges against her for battery. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> No one should have to go through that with their kids in the car, >> right? >> All right. Is there anything that we spoke about off tape that we haven't spoke about on tape? >> No. >> Is there anything you wish to add, change, or delete from your statement? >> No. >> Okay. >> This concludes the statement. >> All right. >> Thank you, sir. >> After the victim made it clear they wanted to press charges, Granny Karen's day officially ended with a pair of handcuffs. >> Yes, you're going to jail. go with you to the jail. >> Okay. >> We'll go with you to the jail. >> Okay. All right. And I know you think you didn't commit a crime and that uh everything is just fine, but uh you did commit a crime. All right. All right. There's nothing else on your person. Okay. >> 115. >> Walk over to my car. >> Yeah. Yeah, she's in the back of the car. >> What? >> She's being arrested. >> What? >> Burglary and battery. >> Burglary. >> Burglary. Yes, ma'am. >> For what? >> She burglarized the car. What do you mean? >> She opened a car that is not hers and battered the person inside. >> No, not right now. >> So, what happened? >> So, now she goes down to the jail. >> Okay. So, what happened? I just I just told you. >> But opening a car like to attack someone to steal the car >> to an intent to commit a crime. >> But what's the crime? >> Battery. Battery is the crime. Therefore, it is burglary. >> Therefore, what? >> It is burglary. >> How How is that what statue? Like what is that? >> Under what do you mean what statute? You cannot open somebody else's vehicle with the intent to commit a crime. That is >> what was the crime I told you to do? >> She opened the car and committed battery once inside the car. >> So, she got out her car and walked over to another car and opened their car door. Is that what happened? >> Exactly. >> Seeing the mother in handcuffs, her daughter rushed over to plead for leniency. But no amount of pleading was going to change the outcome. What I told her was a trivial parking lot argument where they cut each other off in a parking lot. Then she felt she had to go serve justice on her own. >> Yeah, it's unacceptable. >> So, can I have her car key so I can move her car? >> No, the car is going on the tow truck. >> No, the car is getting towed. Oh, the car is getting >> Yes. >> And where is she going? >> To the jail. Charlotte County Jail. >> Where is she? >> That is on airport road down. >> Okay. So, will she get there for tonight? >> No, it's first thing in the morning. >> So, she has to stay there. >> Yep. >> Granny Karen was arrested and charged with unarmed burglary of an occupied vehicle and battery by intentional touch or strike. A parking spot isn't worth a criminal record. Walk away before Anger parks you in a jail cell. Now, let's see what people have been saying about this Granny Karen. If someone had done that to her, she would press charges and call it an assault, too. The car getting towed in front of the daughter who wanted to take it is chef's kiss. She's lied a lot in her life. She's comfortable with it. If the previous granny managed to turn a parking space into a criminal case, the next woman took things to the next level by going headto-head with the police. >> You don't have a gun. >> Go sit in your car. >> She's a [ __ ] No. >> I don't care. GO SIT IN YOUR CAR. >> GO SIT IN YOUR CAR. >> Don't touch me. >> I'm not touching your car. On February 19th, 2025, officers responded to a Wind Dixie after an intoxicated woman was caught trying to drive away and buy even more alcohol. >> Hello. >> I'm the one that called. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to stop her from driving. >> Okay. What's So, what's going on? >> She's drunk. >> Okay. >> She's always drunk. >> Okay. >> She's up here. She's drunk. She got better part of two quarts of wine in her and she's up here getting more. >> Okay. >> I followed her up, told her, "I'll give you a ride back. She won't hear any part of it. And these guys can testify that it's been pretty embarrassing. >> Also, her their neighbors. >> Yeah, I know. That I just met. >> That has nothing to do with it. Just hang out over there for a minute. >> That I just met a minute ago. Same with this guy came up to save. >> Can you guys grab your IDs for me? >> Yes. >> All right. And that's her purse. >> Yeah. >> Awesome. Can I take that, please? >> I don't know if she's got an ID in there somewhere. >> That's okay. Don't worry about it. I'll go through it. >> Even after a concerned witness offered her a ride home, she refused. That decision only made the situation worse. >> I didn't know. hang out over there for me. >> What is your problem? >> Stop. Sit down. >> What is your problem? You [ __ ] bastard. >> Stop. Why don't you shut up? You don't have [ __ ] badge on, you [ __ ] >> Go sit in your car. >> You don't have a [ __ ] You don't have a badge. >> GO SIT IN YOUR CAR. >> She's a [ __ ] No bad. >> I don't care. You're going to go to jail. >> All right. Too late. >> No. Too late. >> No, it's not too late. >> Stand up. >> No. I will get my car. I'm still standing back under arrest. >> You [ __ ] bastard. >> You piece of [ __ ] >> I'm going to jail for what, Dad? >> Obstruction at this point. >> Forget you. [ __ ] you. You [ __ ] >> Okay. >> Forget the groceries, Jack. Forget groceries. I'm going to jail. I had the own. >> After repeatedly refusing to comply, dusted officers had no choice but to put her in handcuffs. Unfortunately, that was only the warm-up. >> Maybe someday you get more than one. >> I don't know what your problem is. >> Okay, >> stop. >> What's my What's my problem? I've got cups on me. >> Okay. Well, it sounds like you Well, you know what? You could have done that if you chose a better plan of action here. You were given several verbal commands by a law enforcement officer and you chose not >> Drop that, please. And you got a [ __ ] earring in you. earpiece. >> Okay. >> Oh, >> it's our radio. >> Okay, we can turn here. >> Why did you Why didn't you be the [ __ ] eyelasher? Let's get over there. >> All right. >> Let go of your car. Let go of your car. >> Let go of the car. >> Let go of the car. >> Let go of the car. >> Being put in the back of a police car didn't stop her. She kept berating the officers while portraying herself as the innocent victim. >> We'll get it. We'll get it. We'll get it. Stop. She already tried kicking. Uh, >> she's already kicked me. >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. >> Lift your legs up. I can pull. >> Okay. Ready? Go ahead. Go ahead. Pull her. All right. You [ __ ] [ __ ] >> All right. Got a hobble. She's going to jail obviously for resisting our obstruction and then she's going to go for battery on LE cuz she kicked me. >> And then um when she gets out, you'll have to file for an exparte order uh for her to go to take your evidence before the judge and apply for it and then the judge can make her go get treatment. >> I got to wait for her to get out though. Did you start all that or can I How do I do that? That car right there. She was ultimately arrested for retail theft and trespassing after warning. On top of that, she was already facing two separate shoplifting cases in another county. Getting older doesn't make a criminal record disappear. If the cameras remember what happened, a judge will eventually hear about it, too. Now, let's see what the internet had to say about this woman. If you thought the drama ended at Target, think again. Our next stop is a restaurant where a few drinks were enough to send the entire night off the rails. >> Where is that? >> You're going to get a citation if you don't quit screaming. >> No, she's not. >> I DON'T CARE. We're not going to swear in this establishment. Do are we are not going to swear at this establishment? >> Do you understand? >> I understand. >> Perfect. Do I need to ask a staff member what happened tonight and why I'm here? >> Well, obviously something happened. >> I have no idea why. Okay. What happened to me? I don't really What happened? Um, he left. They started they started arguing and he left and then he left the credit card and said, "Take care of her." And then she literally like had an anxiety panic attack and started screaming, "I can't go home with him. He takes all my money. He me and we got her to that position and that's as far as we got." She's like, "Don't you dare call him. I can't go out with him." >> Are you okay? >> Yeah. Been sitting there for probably 40 minutes now. >> Did you hear what they were arguing about? Did you hear >> I could ask another server, but no. >> Yeah. As long if somebody heard what they were arguing about, that'd be awesome. >> If you hear what they were arguing about and why he left. No. Honest to God. And I >> So, I went to the table and they wanted a fresh drink. So I'm like, "Well, get your dinner table." Goes, "Yeah, I'll have another bus." Like, "Okay." Went and got went up, ordered it, went and got their sale, went to the table. He was gone. But Jennifer did hear her swearing. >> Sorry. >> So, I did not do anything. I didn't even see them arguing. That's what is like. So, I thought she was having like a mental freedom cuz when I went to drop the salad down, I don't know. They're getting the salad and just started freaking out on me. I'm like, "What the heck is to have the drink?" She had an 8 oz glass of wine and then she had a brandy a double brain low captain smooth and he was like on his third glass of wine which they never even got their second drink like their third drink actually. >> She claimed she had no idea what was going on. Unfortunately, the staff were quite certain she was the one causing the disturbance. >> We can't yell. >> Can you guys get >> I'm trying. >> You knock it off. >> Hey, stop it. >> Stop that. Stop. Let's go. Get up. I'm not getting up. >> Yes, you are. I am not >> backer. LET'S GO. STAND UP. [screaming] >> Stand up. >> I'm not going anywhere. >> Why am I going somewhere? >> Why can I get more? >> Why? LET'S GO. WHY? >> LET'S GO. >> WHY? Why am I going somewhere? >> Ask me. Tell me why. >> Why? Tell me why. >> STAND UP. >> YES, WOMAN. >> TELL ME WHY. >> Stand up. We have to leave. >> Tell me why. >> We have to leave. >> Why? >> Because you can't be here. Let's go. >> Tell me why. Because you can't be here. >> Tell me you're being disorderly. >> Tell me. >> Stand up. >> Wait. Stand up. >> You're a [ __ ] bad woman. >> What did I do to deserve this? >> You started yelling and made an entire scene here. Let's go. >> No. >> Yes. >> No. >> Okay. >> Hi, Julie. Are you right? Is that your name? Julie, you're the same name AS [screaming] >> Let's go. >> I'm going to go ahead and stand up with you. Okay, Julie, >> let's go. >> Come on. Let's go all together. >> Grab onto the locker. >> Julie, settle down. >> Okay, we're right here with you, Julie. Don't watch where you're grabbing. Do not grab me there. >> Let's go. >> The officers started off patient and professional, asking her to leave without causing any further issues. Unfortunately, things only got worse. >> Julie, Julie, so you don't get cold. [screaming] >> Julie. Julie, so you don't get cold. Hi. Hi. I'm Amanda. Nice to meet you. So you don't get cold, let's put your coat on. Okay. I just don't want you to get cold cuz it's cold outside. >> What's wrong? >> You're beautiful, by the way. My hair. >> What is wrong? >> Where is that hair? >> What did I do? >> JULIE, STOP YELLING. >> STOP YELLING. >> JULIE, >> what did I do? >> Julie, settle down. >> We're very slow. >> Just calm down. Do you want some water? Would you like some water? Are you sure? >> What did I do to Harry >> to DO THIS? >> WHAT DID I DO TO HARRY? >> ALL RIGHT, ENOUGH. >> WATCH OUT FOR the >> Please tell me what I did to him. >> Stop yelling. >> Please tell me what I did. >> You're going to get a citation if you DON'T QUIT SCREAMING. >> I DON'T CARE WHAT KIND OF >> not touch her. Do you understand that? You you go to jail. >> Not funny. I'm the last one to do that, too. >> All right. You can hold this. We'll carry out. >> Knock it off. We're done. Be nice. Let's go. Got to grab her first. >> Sit right here. >> Now you can sit out here. >> Thanks. I couldn't lift her on my own. A >> lot of pirates. What do we got here? What's up? >> Hi. >> How you doing? I cannot call you right now. >> The officer stayed patient right up until she attacked them. That's when the conversation ended. The handcuffs came out and reality finally set in. >> Please take the cuffs off. >> I'll roll, >> sir. >> CAN YOU TAKE THE sheard at all or? >> No, she's just DC and I think impaired with the medications and everything. So, >> well, you know, here I will whatever >> just get my car back. >> All right. >> What's going on? >> Well, dispatch >> when this is all done. >> What's going on? Huh? You guys >> this? >> Yeah. >> I know him. He is. What's going on? >> Can I stand you up and get you into my car? >> Starts with an M. >> Why not? >> Get this off. >> I can't take those off yet. Can I get you over there so we can get them off? I won't let you wear them in the ambulance. Okay, >> whatever. It's right there. >> We can't have you in cuffs in the ambulance. All right, >> I'll write it down for him. >> Okay. Can I help you up? >> I know. She'll be in the system. >> It'll be okay. All right. >> Okay. >> Can I help you up? What's your name? >> Julie. >> Julie, can I take care of you today? >> Oh, no. It hurts. Can I pick you up underneath your arms? I'll get your foot on. >> Okay. >> We got to get you so I can I don't want you to fall off the stretcher, honey. And then we'll get them off in the back. Okay. >> Now, that's not enough. >> They're not staying. They're not coming. >> I'm going to ride up cuz the cops are staying on. >> Okay. >> She's already assaulted two police officers. >> One, two. >> Look at that big fat ass. >> I know. Look at that. Yeah, me too. >> I was just on my way to eat. >> Yeah, I guess. >> That guy is the biggest piece of >> I'm quite fond of him. >> The ride to the hospital didn't calm her down. She continued demanding that officers remove the handcuffs as if that was still an option. Miss >> miss. >> Any thoughts about hurting anybody else? >> Talk to someone else. >> You don't want to talk to me? >> I want to talk to someone else. >> About what? >> I don't want to be changed. >> Can I have a hug? >> Not right now. >> She's got to put you in handcuffs first. >> What? Yeah, we'll just go in the front so you can hold on to your walker. >> What? >> Does it not make sense? >> Why do you have to be so mean to me? >> Okay. >> I'm being pretty nice. She needs your other hand. >> Why do you have to be so mean to me? >> Actually being pretty nice because usually we put them behind people's backs. >> But you really not doing anything bad. I want to go home. >> Me too. So, what do I do? >> You got to go across the street, >> right? >> Yep. >> Paperwork. Paper work's done. >> No. Grab under your shoulder. >> I'm going to fall because I hit my knee thing. >> No, >> you can. Also, >> we're rolling her. >> You can roll. >> Stealing your guys' bed for a hot minute. Let me go home to my husband. >> Is he your husband, Harry? I thought you said he was your boyfriend. >> Yes. >> Why won't you let me go home to him? >> Paperwork. We have to go do paperwork now. >> Why won't you let me go home to him? >> I think you're a really cool guy. Why won't you let me go home to him? This one easier for us >> is a really weird thing. >> Oh, all your hospital knowledge. >> Why won't you let me go to him? >> We just have to stop over across the street for paperwork. That's all. This is a hospital. We don't have the paperwork here. >> In the end, she was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. What would you do if a stranger suddenly criticized the way you dress? That's exactly what happened when today's Granny Karen decided everyone else's business was her business. On November [music] 16th, 2024, Illinois police knocked on Alexandra's door after a confrontation at Panera Bread. By then, witnesses had already recorded everything. >> Stop. Stop. >> Oh my god. Oh my god. No, I'm going to call the police. >> Call the police. >> Call the police. >> Call the police. >> Stop. >> You're going to hit a pregnant woman. >> No. >> Get away from my wife. >> The hell is your problem? >> Can you call the police? >> I go. What's your problem? >> What's your problem? >> Can you get away from my >> punch? I'm going to fight you. Punch me. >> Okay. What the hell? >> It all started when Alexandra spotted a shirt with the Palestine flag on it. Instead of ignoring it, she confronted the person wearing it and turned a quiet restaurant into a scene. She thought she'd left the whole situation behind. Unfortunately, the officers had other plans. Here's what happened next. >> Hi, Alexandra. >> Hi. >> How's it going? I just got to have a couple of words with you real quick. Okay. >> Sure. Go ahead. >> Okay. So, here's the situation. Okay. So, yesterday you had an incident. Correct. >> Right. Okay. >> So, due to that there are charges for battery placed against you. Okay. >> Against me. >> Against you. Okay. So, what I'm going to have to do is I'm going to have to place you under arrest for battery. That being said, I will be more than happy to read your Miranda rights now before I do any other further questioning. >> Are you good with discussing this in front of your husband? >> Of course. >> Okay. Fine. Okay. >> You're trying to arrest me. >> So, the person that you made contact with yesterday? >> Did you know what he did? >> I watched I watched the video cuz there's videos of it. Okay. >> Right. There's videos of it and then we also have video footage of the female manager who had video recording inside the Panera. Okay. So, per their manager and per the video that we watched. Okay. It shows you as the initial progressor. Okay. >> I didn't do anything. I I I just just he he I just just, you know, stepped in front of me and I said, "Well, I I I don't like what you're wearing." >> Okay. So, again, We have more than we'll be going back to the PD and I will have more than we'll have a further discussion on it. Okay? But if you don't want to speak further, I can read your Miranda rights now and then we can do it again at the PD. If you don't want to give any further statement on it now, that's fine. But >> can you can you say what what actually happened or what the video shows? So the video shows an altercation between your wife and a male party who is in between his wife who is recording your wife due to her actions that happened at the canal. >> No her wife was was recording >> recording you? Yes. Correct. >> So I I said stop recording because I'm talking to him. I didn't attack her. I I didn't I didn't have anger. I didn't >> Did you attempt Did you attempt to grab the phone? >> Yes. >> Okay. So she's allowed to record. It's a public area. It's as as unfortunate as it is, you're allowed to record people in a public area. Okay. >> She kept insisting that she was the real victim, but just a few sentences later, Alexandra ended up admitting to some of the very things she claimed she never did. >> So, in layman's terms, lay just in regards just regards to this. In layman's terms, okay, >> you have the right to an attorney, okay? You do not have to give a statement, okay? And you have a right to an attorney. And that attorney can be present with you when we go back to the police department. >> How do I get attorney? I you know I I never was in in the in the problem with with the law. >> So if you do not have an attorney, >> he you know this guy attacked me and and >> if you don't if you if she doesn't if you do not have an attorney, we can find an attorney for you >> right now. >> If you know of an attorney if you would like. >> Well, does she need one? >> That is up to >> because you started talking and you still didn't tell me what exactly happened. And what does the video show? >> The video shows that your wife attempts to take a phone from a female. The husband of that female gets in between them because she does he does not want her to be taking the phone. >> At that point, >> he was between us. He he was all the time. >> And I understand that because he did not want you taking his wife's phone. Okay. >> No. There was a small tussle because in the video it shows you looking like you're about to throw coffee, >> but I didn't. >> Correct. >> Okay. >> Okay. The coffee was not spilled on that person. Right. However, >> the coffee was spilled on me. >> However, however, after you had the tussle with the coffee, you made contact with the left side of his face. You swung at his You swung at his face. >> He He did because he threatened me. Did Did she show you that? He Yes, he he said, "I'm going to hit you. I'm going to hit you. I'm going to hit you." >> You said several times that you were going to hit him. >> No, I'm going to hit you. Just because of a Palestine flag, she was willing to get physical. To many viewers, it looked like an extreme and irrational reaction fueled by deep hostility. >> He started it >> because he he put coffee on me and and then I said, "Okay, it's not worth it. I'm not going to trouble with some terrorist." >> Why would you call that person a terrorist? >> Because he he threatened me. So So it's I he pushed me again. But do you see that? He kept pushing me. >> I understand. But the problem is is this whole incident was provocated by them alleging that you and pardon my language, but this is what they claim you said that you walked up to them and said Palestine because they had the word Palestine in the back of their jacket. >> It it it would just be over. >> So again, I I >> freedom of speech, right? There is freedom of speech in this country. So So they can say, I can say. >> And again, I'm not taking anything away from your civil rights. I'm not saying anything against their civil rights. The only thing that we are here to discuss right now is the battery and disorderly conduct that occurred at the murder. Okay. The reason I read you Miranda writes is because if you do >> are you going to arrest him? That that is my question because he he was he was actually charging at me. I I just said I I can send what whatever I want. But but he was charging at me and he said, "Yeah, I'm I'm going to hit you. I'm going to hit you." I I felt threatened. >> He he he terrorized So, at what time did he say he was going to answer? >> Because if it was during that video >> Oh, she I'm I'm sure she she she got rid of this. I I I was I was wondering if that's why I >> So, did that occur prior to you pointing at them and saying what you said or did it happen after the fact in between? after after um you know at at some point we were already you know like like in in disagreement. So so I just you know if there's anything that she doesn't want brought there she can leave it with you and then we will place her under arrest. We'll take her back to the police department and then you can either you can follow us to the police department or you can meet us there. >> This is this is >> I will I will follow since I can go with you guys. >> Can I can I get dressed up? You can get dressed. Unfortunately, your wife has to sit here. I We will wait until you get back. >> Yeah. Why don't you give your husband your purse? I mean, you don't need it. >> I do need it. >> Okay, that's fine. If you want to bring >> If you want to bring it. It's just like I said, it's just if it's extra stuff if you don't want to. >> Well, it doesn't she need like ID and stuff because then you're going to ask for ID and she won't have ID. So, then you're going to say like, "Oh, you have you already have her identification." >> But if if if you bring your purse with you, we have to search that entire purse and all its contents. So, I'm just trying to help with your privacy. So if you don't want us to go inside your purse, >> you can bring your wallet and your phone if you want that's fine and then leave the rest of our policy at the department. If she brings a bag so they so the people basically copied the license plate is how this thing started. I mean how did they know her name and address and everything and suddenly four cops show up here. >> So we were able to get her information um >> via our computer. >> Okay. But computer is not so smart. Somebody had to input the information in the computer. So I'm asking >> so a third party a third party person informed us of her information. >> Invoking free speech was just another step in the wrong direction because the first amendment has never been a shield for violence. >> There is there's so much you know wrong going on in the world and the the people who are really attacking others and I I I just because I I made some comment and and uh and he he reacted. He actually reacted. Okay. He he he could say about I don't know he he he could he he he just you know >> again unfortunately ma'am just due to the circumstances of this all right because you have been >> because you have been identified as the main aggressor in this situation and you attempting to grab his wife's phone out of his hand >> or something that she's allowed to do >> and I understand it's frustrating but >> he is she is not I because I I knew if if she she's going to probably delet the video where where he was the the you know aggressor >> and if that's if that is the case then that will be the state's attorney's job to figure that out. Okay. But off of what we have right now this is what we have to do. Okay. So what we're going to do So what we're going to do is to make it more comfortable for you. I will cuff you in front. So it will not be behind your back. It'll be in front. Okay. So the other officer here will hold on to your property. >> Okay. >> And just put your hands kind of like that. >> Yeah. Okay. >> We have to hold on to it because we've had people call and record with phones in the past where we have to put the stuff in the front of the car. >> Well, so what's wrong she's recording is if she got recorded at Panera and you're saying it's it's perfectly legal. So it's like double standard now. >> Well, we're actually recording in the car itself. But again, it's just our policy that the stuff the front of the vehicle or the rear of the vehicle, not with the person that's in the vehicle. >> So, I'm not going to go looking through any of this. I'm not going to try to unlock your phone, nothing like that. Just going to go right into the front seat of my partner. So, sit tight real quick cuz I'm going to double lock this so they don't tighten on you when you're sitting inside the vehicle. Okay. >> I'm sorry. >> And we'll try to keep you as a day as we tell you. Even in handcuffs, she kept demanding that officers arrest the other man. Fortunately for her, she was the one who had started the entire incident. >> Good. I'm not do going to do anything. I'm not a Do you know how long it's going to take? >> I don't, but we will try to get the situation taken care of as quickly as possible. >> But but I mean like like >> I wish I could give you an exact time frame, but unfortunately I cannot. >> Alexandra was arrested on a battery charge. Her case was later forwarded to prosecutors for review of possible additional charges. To close out today's video, here's a woman who thought yelling, "You can't do that." was basically a legal defense. On May 26th, 2024, officers responded to a bonfire grill after reports of a woman trespassing despite having already been banned from the property. >> Hey, Miss Cooper. >> Are you Miss Cooper? >> Yeah. >> Can I speak with you outside? >> Thank you. >> So, you want to put your stuff up here? So, my name is Officer Gluna. Okay. Um, and how long have you been here? >> No. Hey, we're not going to do that. I don't want to put you in cuffs. Stop. >> You cannot be here. >> Yes, I can. No, you can't. >> Yes, I can. >> No, you can't. >> Do not resist me. Do not resist me. I'm here for a reason. >> This is not acceptable by the police department. >> I need you to step out of the building. You need to come stand over here. >> Oh, she said this is not acceptable, right? But her trespassing was what truly wasn't acceptable here. >> Stop. >> You got to search one or something? >> No, I don't. Said if I have one resistant. Stop. >> Can you >> I'm not going to do this. >> You can't be doing this. >> Yes, I can. >> You don't have any legal right to do it. >> You identified yourself as the person that I'm here with. You did? >> Yes. >> You said you were Miss Cooper. Put your bag down. >> Put your bag down. >> You can't do this. >> Yes, I can. >> I'm giving you a lawful order. Put your bag down. >> It's not a lawful order. >> Yes, it is. >> No, it's not. >> I do not want you to get hurt. Stop resisting me. >> It hurts me. >> No, I'm not going to. Put your hands behind your back now. Where's your search warrant? >> I don't need a search warrant. Put your hands behind your back. >> Yes, you do. >> No, I don't. >> Barbara, stop. >> You stuck with your hand. >> No. Officer Gvena. >> Officer Guna. >> Yes. >> You are out on a I don't even know where you are. Outer space. You don't have the right to do that. >> Put your bag down. >> You don't have the right to do that. >> Put your bag down. Barbara, stop. You are hurting me. >> That's my dad. >> I know that is. >> After repeatedly resisting, officers were forced to restrain Barbara and place her in the patrol car. But of course, that was not acceptable to her either. >> Will you go get her uh the They said she's trespassed from here. So see if they have paperwork now for you >> runner real quick. >> Yep. >> Do you have a shirt on underneath your jacket? >> Um yeah. Come this way. Please [snorts] get in my car. What warrant? >> Sit in your car. >> Want a copy of it? >> You don't have a warrant. >> And what am I doing in here? >> You're getting arrested for criminal trespass and resisting, >> Barbara. >> So, where's the warrant? >> It's not a warrant. I don't need a warrant for this. >> Nope. >> This is such a Let me see this real quick. It's a little old lady. She's trying to fight me, dude. It's a little tiny old lady. >> Let's go, guys. >> Yeah. No, I just was like I walked in and I was like, "Are you Miss Cooper?" And she's like, "Yeah." And I was like, "Let's go talk outside." And so I was talking out here and I was like, "Okay." So they called cuz you're not supposed to be here. And she just started walking in and I was like, "No, you need to stay out here." And she was like, "Don't do this." and she just like tensed up and she has like a down jacket on >> so she was all >> step out please Barbara step out Barbara get out of the car acting like a dumb Who's acting like a dandy? >> You are. >> She was later taken to the hospital for evaluation, but she hadn't left her superiority complex behind. >> Can you turn the light on? >> Yeah. >> No. And >> sit down. Sit down. Put your legs up on the bed. Put your legs on the bed. So, no complaints on her, but she's elderly and I had to >> see she's not very cooperative. >> Yeah, she's not. So I had to like pull her arm back up to get like control pain compliance of her cuz she was trying to leave runway and was not cooperating. So >> she's not complaining of injury. Um but I just >> I get it. >> Yeah. >> Okay, Barbara, let's get going. Am I good to take her duck? Okay, stand up, please. Come on. Get in the car. Once at the police station, Barbara revealed a very different side of herself than the one we'd seen moments earlier. >> Miss Cooper. >> Yes. >> You know Miss Cooper? >> I know her very well. >> Stay right there, please. >> Stay right here. >> She's not been very compliant. >> Yeah, I had to carry her out of here. >> Oh, >> literally. That's how she's been all morning. So, she's just trespass and resisting me. But you being good with me, too? >> Yeah. >> I will always be good with you. I'm very patient with you. Okay. It's all for me. Thank you. >> Oh, I got to go get her bag out of the cart. >> Okay. No. Stop. Stay right there. Don't move. Don't. I'll let you walk. It'll be on your own. Stop. Scooper. Scooper. Don't [music] >> worry. Just stop. Don't >> go get her bag real quick. >> Barbara Cooper was charged with two offenses: criminal trespass and resisting, [music] evading, or obstructing an officer.
