On April 26, 2024, what started as routine patrol quickly escalated into a high-speed pursuit when Officer Clayton Block spotted a white sedan recklessly weaving through traffic on Highway 11:16 West. The vehicle was overtaking others on the emergency lane at dangerously high speeds. When lights and sirens were activated, the driver refused to stop, accelerating instead to nearly 100 miles per hour. What was he running from? According to initial reports, the vehicle had previously been involved in a pursuit initiated by the Saline County Sheriff's Office. The chase began on westbound I-30 near mile marker 23, where the vehicle was traveling over 100 miles per hour and using the emergency lane to pass other cars. However, the pursuit was ultimately terminated after officers lost sight of the vehicle. The driver continued fleeing and veered into an active construction zone near mile marker 113, unaware that he was heading into a dead end. The vehicle narrowly missed striking workers and equipment in the area. Ultimately, the suspect came to a stop near mile marker 111 within the work zone. Fortunately, no serious injuries or damage were reported. In a last-ditch effort, the driver made a calculated move by voluntarily stepping out of the vehicle, but it wasn't enough to avoid the serious charges awaiting him. He now faces multiple counts, including felony fleeing, aggravated assault, reckless driving, excessive speeding, and more. >> Put your hands back here. >> The suspect was transported to the Saline County Jail for booking. On December 31st, 2022, what began [snorts] as a routine patrol quickly escalated into a high-speed chase when officers spotted a gray Honda Accord speeding southbound at 68 mph in a 55 zone. As emergency lights lit up the road, the driver made a split-second decision. He hit the gas and fled. What was he running from? And how far did he think he could go? The pursuit headed southbound on Georgia 14, where the suspect drove with extreme recklessness, failing to stay in his lane and reaching speeds of up to 125 mph in a 55 mph zone. Other drivers were forced off the roadway to avoid a potential collision. As the suspect turned onto Civil Road, officers attempted to box the vehicle in and force it off the roadway. A collision occurred, causing the suspect's car to lose control and veer into the shoulder. The driver then fled on foot. Running on foot with his pants falling down was easily the worst decision this suspect could have made. Officers deployed a taser and brought him down quickly. What started as a simple traffic stop turned into a serious felony. Was it really worth it? August 14th, 2024. In a tense showdown in Michigan, DEA agents and state troopers closed in on a suspected [music] drug trafficker behind the wheel of a Chevy Tahoe. Cornered in a parking lot, the man refused to surrender. Instead, he rammed multiple vehicles, tore across sidewalks, and barreled into restricted areas all in a desperate bid [music] to escape. But with danger rising and backup closing in, how far could he really go? While driving through active traffic, the suspect at one point veered into oncoming lanes, [music] forcing multiple civilian drivers to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid a head-on collision. >> [screaming] >> In an attempt to end the pursuit, officers executed a PIT maneuver that pushed the suspect's vehicle onto the curb. But like a stubborn heavyweight fighter, the car kept going. The only result of the impact was a dangling rear bumper and a dislodged exhaust pipe. >> Despite being closely pursued by two patrol units, the suspect proved to be a highly skilled driver, consistently maintaining distance from professionally trained officers. In the end, the pursuit was called off for safety reasons. The vehicle was later recovered, but the suspect managed to escape and remains at large. August 2021. Chaos erupted on I-94 when a suspect suddenly abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot across the busy interstate. Traffic screeched to a halt as drivers swerved and slammed brakes to avoid him. What led to this dangerous dash through rush hour? >> Troopers following, making sure to kind of keep them safe, trying to provide a little extra safety. Things are going to get interesting here in a moment as he's thinking about starting to do a lane change, so to speak. Look at the presence of mind of the dealer T first truck driver, they switched their sign board to say do not pass. A great safety move. You can't see it, but the state trooper is already out of their car. He jumped over the median barrier. >> As the suspect attempted to cross the highway and leap over the center divider, officers moved in quickly to subdue him. >> Wow, there you go. So, he goes right over the barrier. Troopers in pursuit. He's watching, looking. I mean, he was planning on going across there. And he looks away for a moment and the trooper takes this opportunity. Trooper sees he's looking away from him. >> A nearby DOT driver, who had just repositioned a warning sign, also jumped into action, rushing in to assist the officer in taking the suspect into custody. Just minutes [music] later, the suspect was successfully subdued thanks to swift action by officers and the unexpected assistance of the DOT driver. It's a moment that highlights both the dangers officers face and the recklessness of suspects who believe they can outrun the law. What do you think of this chase and the courageous intervention? On the morning of March 25th, 2025, a car owner made a desperate call to police. His white Honda had just been stolen from northeast San Antonio. Thanks to a GPS tracker installed on the vehicle, officers quickly locked onto the suspect's location. What followed was a tense and fast-moving pursuit that would race through city streets and no one knew how it would end. >> Police are right now police are not currently pursuing. [music] We have Eagle up. So, we have this this white vehicle in the center of our screen. Traffic signs right now. Um police [music] are keeping their distance, but we're watching it. We see him driving erratically through the grass, uh ignoring some traffic signals, obeying some traffic signals. But right now you can see he's he seems to be traveling at a moderate speed, uh not really [music] breaking any laws right now. >> The suspect raced onto Interstate 35 near New Braunfels Avenue at speeds exceeding 100 mph, >> [music] >> weaving dangerously between lanes and putting countless drivers at risk. Officers were forced to slow down and maintain distance to avoid [music] triggering a major crash on the busy freeway. >> Oh, here we go. SAPD in pursuit. Of course driving is uh certain [music] certainly putting other people at danger. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if SAPD terminated this and tried to find him down the line, but uh Okay. Hey, we only have about 4 minutes on the scene. Let's see if this is the vehicle. The black uh the black wheels are a dead giveaway. Yeah, this is it. After more than 20 minutes of pursuit, aerial support helped officers locate the suspect's vehicle parked in a lot near Perrin Beitel and Northeast Loop 410. Ground units quickly moved in and took the suspect into custody without incident. >> We'll end it right now. He's got two helicopters, he's got police all over. There we go. [music] Hands up. Hands up. He surrendered. All right. >> On November 11th, 2023, while patrolling the area, officers spotted a gray Lincoln SUV driving the wrong way at 59 mph in a 40 mph zone. The vehicle was weaving past other cars without using turn signals, raising immediate red flags. As officers accelerated to catch up and signaled for the driver to pull over, the suspect made a split-second decision to flee. >> Hands up. He's surrendered. Hands up. He's surrendered. Take the next right on 74. Take the next right on 78. >> The suspect fled into a residential neighborhood, nearly striking a pedestrian. At the intersection of North W Street and Michigan Avenue, the vehicle went airborne before losing control and crashing into the roadside. >> [music] >> South from 29. Take the next right on 78. South in here memorial. He's on the vehicle. >> I'm 10-24 your traffic ticket book. I'm 10-24 10-30 10-30 10-30. No. Back it back it back it. Back it back it. >> Following the PIT maneuver, officers, assisted by a K9 unit, moved in and successfully took the suspect into custody. A search revealed 2 g [music] of cocaine on his person. The suspect was identified as 35-year-old LeBaron Britt. He now faces multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Britt was booked into the Escambia County Jail on Saturday night. His bond was set at $70,000. >> I was 10-24 >> Open the [ __ ] door. Open the [ __ ] door. Get him get him. Hey. Hey. >> On July 22nd, 2024, Trooper Brandon was patrolling westbound on I-4 near mile marker 130 when he clocked a black sedan speeding at 95 mph in a 75 mph zone. He initiated a traffic stop, but what happened next took him completely by surprise. What would make a driver risk everything over a simple speeding ticket? Although the vehicle's windows were tinted dark, they couldn't hide from the sharp eyes of law enforcement. But, one question remained. What was he trying so desperately to conceal? >> Heading westbound on State Road 44, the suspect suddenly exited the highway at mile marker 118. Refusing to slow down, he weaved dangerously through traffic and even used the emergency lane to overtake other vehicles. >> At the intersection of State Route 44 and Wade Avenue, the suspect's vehicle nearly collided head-on with an oncoming car, forcing him to slow down. Seizing the perfect moment, officers executed a decisive PIT maneuver. The suspect's car lost control and spun into a grassy field. The driver fled on foot, but was captured after a 45-minute manhunt. He was identified as Patrick Brian Gordon. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded magazine and a substance suspected to be narcotics. March 28th, 2019, chaos broke out in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles, when a massive blue tanker truck was reported stolen near West 6th and South Carson. But, this wasn't just any vehicle. The tanker was hauling over 2,000 gallons of potentially hazardous liquid. With the threat of a catastrophic spill looming, LAPD had to [music] act fast. >> I got westbound on Wilshire Boulevard. It appears he's slowing down just a little bit, but then he starts to pick up speed. You can see the [music] speedometer about 20 mph. >> Although the vehicle was stolen, the suspect didn't seem to be in any rush. He drove calmly, even waiting patiently to cross at an intersection. >> Tight turns. [music] He's right up against the traffic. Let's widen out a little bit and we'll see where those units are heading westbound on Wilshire, right at San Vicente. Again, you can fly along with us in our nav system down below there. They're keeping >> [music] >> speeds measured, and they want this to end in such a way where no officers get injured, either, obviously. So, they're going to take this cautiously, but [music] they want to bring it to an end here. Again, a tanker truck, 2,000 gallons loaded with what they believe is non-flammable liquid, possibly even water, which is good news, but again, that the Absolutely, but in busy city streets like this, it's really quite challenging as well, because you have opposing traffic, you have all these intersections. >> At one point, while entering a construction [music] zone, a worker unknowingly moved a barrier to help the driver pass. Let's hope that kind soul doesn't end up being mistaken as an accomplice. >> And he's on his way again. It appears from our vantage point, he may have some experience driving just because it appears he's managing this tanker truck quite well thus far, but you can see traffic on the opposite Now, he's kind of pushing through. [music] And he doesn't have the red light now on Wilshire Boulevard. Coming out of Making a hard tight turn there. That was one of the most uh uh aggressive moves he's made so far. Now, he's sort of stuck. He's got that pickup truck there. Let's see what he does. And he turned into an area where the road was blocked. Let's see how he gets out of this one. >> Amazingly, yet another construction worker unknowingly assisted the suspect. This time, by removing a traffic cone that was blocking his path. >> And sure [music] enough, he came into an area Let's see what this guy does. Oh, he's going to move the cone for him. I don't think he knows what's going on. Wow. >> Oh. Oh, wow. >> I I don't know what's going on here. >> You know, Rick, whenever we watch these things, I'm always thinking about the people who have absolutely no clue what's going on. People are just out on the road or pedestrians. Time [music] and again, these innocent bystanders get hurt. >> And there's no question, and LAPD in recent years has led him down the road at Wilshire and then making that hard left. He probably didn't see the barrier. >> Okay, so you have this guy walking up to the truck now. >> Yeah, this is a dangerous situation cuz you just don't know what you're dealing with with these drivers. He's going to come up and He's going to move the cone for him. There you go. And this guy could be mentally, you know, unstable. He could have a weapon. A real dangerous [music] situation. We'll >> After everything, the suspect calmly pulled into a tanker truck lane, parked neatly, and stepped out while answering a phone call. Almost as if he had just wrapped up a delivery right on schedule. The only problem? Nearly 20 officers were right behind him, ready to make the arrest. [music] >> He made He made his way out of there, and now he's on 6th Street. Oh, look at that officer. >> [music] >> This >> You know, the more I look at this, I'm just wondering, [music] I'm speculating. We got all this information from our assignment desk listening to the Los Angeles Police Department on frequencies. He has gone through intersections. Once he stopped. All right, now he's out. And he's got his hands up. Drop what you have in your hands. Lay down on the street. And it appears that he's doing business. He's on his phone. >> Okay, this is all alleged, and I say this because it's so so odd how this all went down watching this from above. >> An alleged [music] stolen tanker truck by that male that And the driver has been caught. And he's going to be uh taken [music] into custody. This is not a code four yet. They have to clear that cab. You could see officers with their guns still drawn. Once they clear the cab and all areas where anybody or anything could be
