i got this footage from santa rosa florida where in january of 2022 a deputy was following a car that was driving erratically and speeding on the highway the following is a journalistic story about a notable drug bust and does not include the graphic display or dramatization of drug use as always so you can learn more the full please report is down in the description and i'll go over and explain the legal outcome of the case at the end of the video it's a silver mitsubishi robby road in 87 north hey stay in the car what are we doing what are you opening your door for my man that's what my arrested nobody said you're under arrest right now you're being detained for seeing an officer safety because when i pulled when i pulled you guys over initially your driver tried to hop out of the car and you're digging around in a bag so we're not going to play this game of jumping around i don't know what i'm sitting on i don't know what i'm digging around in so you're being detained you're not under arrest you're being detained all right come over here and that's that's fine have a seat on push bumper and do not move get out driver around hands behind your back i don't know what is it i don't know what's going on man just relax no did you see i didn't i didn't [ __ ] see did you see what's in that seat what's in there just call me what is it they look like a [ __ ] pistol dude i can't i can't couples hey couples yes there might be signals here on the car hey i don't know what the [ __ ] it is why we're nico um hang tight now that we do not literally we got a weapons card you have nothing my one card at all okay you have the right to remain silent anything you take can we use to get you to quote a walk you have the right to an attorney if you can't afford them just core system but we with us outstanding can you take over there and talk to him that's great how much weeds in the car so i didn't even know there was reading well dude come on you know what we smelled like right yeah but i just picked them up but you know what it smells like and your whole car wreaks like we did so if i if i know it when i've never met you and i'm just pulling a car over and i can identify oh man this car smells like wheat and i've never been in this car once in my life you'd be able to think that a guy that owns a car that drives a car every day would probably be like oh this car smells like wait you know what i mean i mean i guess i got a fight right go ahead and just have a seat okay right here right right i just got to my house and he pulled up and uh and i just got back from the grocery store the grocery bags and that backpack is the only thing that is mine in that car okay well what's in the car i i fear i swear to god on my son and my daughter i do not know it's it's not it's no like it smells when i got up that's why that's why i freaked out that's why i just freaked out because i can tell you i can tell you who is ski to you he's one of my brother's best friends my brother is recently deceased okay well i i literally i did not call him or not and he showed up at my house he asked me if he would ride with me if i would ride with him to go pick up his girlfriend and i'll hop in the car how much weed's in the car i said sir i don't know okay is that your gun no sir that's why i just told him and then i really just i've realized that i was sitting on it yeah i hopped in there you realized no no give me a thing let's go let's get the let's get the contraband and then we'll search the operations real quick i saw them drive by me i was back there dude they they so i was we were varying speeds they took off from that stop light like we were drag racing yeah like before we got to like the packer one apartments we were doing 55 like they were and then and then they were all over the road they almost hit into the side of me when i was going past them at one point and then they got they immediately lane changed and got right behind me followed me too close and then almost hit the curb so i was like well pull it over the passenger sling swings his door open as soon as he stops i didn't know what i was sitting on let's just i'm gonna get this out of here now okay so there was a gun that's good i have a firearm to run by serial number perfect and he said the bag says okay cool oh it's all scratched off bro the top of that it's a taurus g2 c charles nine millimeter what he's got a gun on him and a bunch of weave my man well you're riding dirty with them holy smoke that's weed we need to figure out who this is this has got this is a pretty decent amount of weed this can be felony dope too let me go talk to my guy real quick is that your lunch box yes or no question is that your lunch box no sir the big green lunch box isn't yours no sir whose is it come on come on man we're not playing games anymore this guy give a ride his name's uh james something all right so here's the deal i'm gonna put you this way okay honestly goes a long long ways with me okay right now you're looking at about tickets in jail okay so the more we keep lying all right we're just going to look for other things we're going to keep searching if i know that you're lying to me it's going to keep searching we're going to keep searching okay i have a hard time believing that my man because i've i've been given a lot of rides in my day to people and there is a decent amount of dope in that lunch box and i've never forgot my lunch box anywhere and if i had just dump in that lunch box oh yeah if i hadn't if i had a decent amount of dope and a lunch box i sure [ __ ] wouldn't be for getting it anymore so i can tell you exactly where this dude looks and everything okay so we want this and we want this and then we want this and this let's go through this and make sure it's just weed in here ah looks like cocaine is that a fentanyl i hope it's not fit that's more of it looks like heroin black black and sticky what do you think it's hard to tell in that bag yep as soon as we were fidgeting around i knew we were in for a treat are you going to take you're going to take both of them you're going to charge the blackmail for the uh [Music] we're gonna charge him with everything i'm gonna read the uh possession of a firearm while committing a felony and see if it's like the firearm has to be used specifically to commit the felony type of thing we're gonna see if we can get that as well so because some statutes are the firearm has to be used as in like a robbery and then you can charge it in the commission we're pulling us over he he hit him he threw that over there he threw what over there there is paraphernalia in that his paraphernalia what do you mean right now stuff in what is was on his neck okay cool i was like calm down bro he reached back there me and him were sitting there talking like back and forth you know okay this whole time he grabbed he got the bag of weed through me and said here roll your parents dude you're over the age of 18 right right okay so i'm not i'm not legally obligated to call your parents i know i'm not illegally obligated to call your mom or your parents or anybody like that and so i'll let you deliver the news at this point i'm gonna be placed under arrest for possession of cocaine possession of i don't listen to me just let me just let me talk all right you can you can argue in just a second but you're asking me what's going on so i'm trying to tell you so just let me speak so this point in time you replaced under arrest for possession of cocaine possession of marijuana possession i'm sorry i don't know are you gonna let me talk and possession of drug paraphernalia okay what do you mean you don't understand why is he not in charge he's getting charged he's getting charged with possession of marijuana and possessing possession of a firearm as a felon i don't have any cocaine though sir there's cocaine there's coke listen to me is there any way i can work out something with you i can show you where the dude lives well you can you can hang on a second hey he was talking about her so i just walked away so i'll just sit here i'll message you the charges for that gentleman he's kicking the window and [ __ ] again okay do you need me to come up there no not man yeah yeah um okay i would definitely have them meet you in the sally port yeah so are you on probation parole yes sir he lives at the circle hotel okay listen here's the deal let me hit up the stuff here's the deal there is so let me ask you this i guess what about all the weed in there so you didn't you didn't you didn't have a bag of weed in the back of the car at all no sir interesting what'd you go pick him up for you time to be honest what'd you go pick him up for brother died his older brother died right okay he was my best friend okay so josh is depressed so i picked him up hang out with me okay and what was your guys's plan okay and you're going there to what hang out smoke a little weed do it what all right well i got to pick up my girlfriend first okay what'd you go pick him up for in the first place you need to ride a berry hill gotcha well here's what's going to happen you're going to be placed under arrest for possession felony possession of marijuana felony possession of cocaine you can you can pleat it out in court um if you want it's not gonna help we can talk about that too we can get you we can get you in contact with the narcotics officer okay please all right again man you can talk to the narcotics officers and you can you can tell them and you can tell the state attorney all this stuff okay um but here just listen to me just listen okay at the end of the day there you have you ever heard of what's called constructive possession yes or no you have okay so you know just as well as i do that if somebody in your car's got dope on them you are just as culpable for possession of that dope as they are and that's where we're at right now okay so we obviously know the bag of weed in the gun is probably joshua's but just listen but the bag of weed and the bag of coke in the rear of that vehicle in this mysterious lunch box just listen you're asking these questions and you're not letting me talk okay so just let me talk all right so the the bag of weed and the mysterious bag of cocaine this mysterious lunchbox that's next to all your other stuff magically isn't yours and that's where i'm having a hard time with that okay just listen just listen to me so you are requesting to speak with the narcotics division i will give them a call and i will let them know the situation if they want to come out tonight they can come out tonight if they want to call you at a later date they can do that that's their choice okay they don't have to call you at all if they don't want to okay but as of right now you're being placed under arrest for possession felony possession marijuana felony possession of cocaine and drug presidential drug paraphernalia among a slew of traffic citations do you understand that now please sit back and let me talk to this other deputy hello sir what's up nothing chilling what's up i guess you smelled it oh yeah i could smell the weed coming out of it so when i stopped him originally he flung his door open and you didn't have light you don't have a valve license man you have a failure to pay financial obligation so you're also driving while suspended you tack that on your charges brother the driver in this case was charged with two felonies one for possession of marijuana over 20 grams and one for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription he was also charged with two misdemeanors one for driving with a suspended or revoked license and one for possession of drug equipment or paraphernalia along with that he got four criminal traffic citations which is one step below misdemeanor these were for unlawful speed failure to drive in one lane failure to update an address on a driver's license and not having proof of insurance brandon was able to come to a deal where he pled to the driving on a revoked license and he was sentenced to 2 months and 20 days in jail which he was given credit for for time served and ordered to pay 500 in fines for the citations the fines totaled about 600 and he failed to pay them so his driver's license was suspended until he pays them the passenger joshua was charged with four felonies one for possession of marijuana over 20 grams one for possession of a weapon by a felon one for resisting an officer with violence and one for possession of a controlled substance along with this he was given a misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia and a citation for open container by a passenger he ended up pleading guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 14 months in jail with credit for 4 months time served along with this he was ordered to pay around a thousand dollars in fines now if you
