Welcome to PoliceUS Dash Cam, where truth [music] is faster than fiction. These are real pursuits, real risks, and every [music] second is caught on camera. [music] >> [music] >> Coming up, a traffic stop turns deadly when a Challenger hits 160 mph and the driver pays the ultimate price midair. On March 12th, 2023, a blue Dodge Challenger was clocked at 130 mph in a 65 mph zone. Officers moved in for a traffic stop, but just as one trooper stepped out of his cruiser, the driver hit the gas and took off. What followed was a wild high-speed chase that no one saw coming. After momentarily shaking off the police, the driver made a desperate turn onto a smaller, less traveled road. What he thought would be his way out. But that split-second decision might have been the biggest mistake of his life. The officer noticed something unusual on the road, something that instantly signaled how serious this situation had become. When he turned his vehicle around, the site was chilling. The car was mangled beyond recognition and the driver had been ejected through the window. >> Monitoring. >> Monitoring traffic. >> He's not in the driver's seat. Everybody's deployed. He wasn't wearing a seat belt. He got ejected. Watch yourself. >> Over here. Over here. Over here. Got movement over here. Dro, let me help you. I know you're hurt. Car's on fire. See, I know. I'm trying to clear it before it catches anymore, but he ran for a reason. I smell >> Dro, let me help, dude. Where you? >> Sadly, no further information was provided after the crash. But one thing is clear. This highlights the critical importance of wearing a seat belt while driving. Let this be a powerful reminder about 160 when hit. >> Obey the law before it's too late. >> Where you at, dude? Let me help you. >> All right. I don't see him anywhere. If he got a check, he's going to be over here. >> Coming up, a luxury car, an empty tank, and a crash that makes you wonder, was it really worth the speed? On April 7th, 2024, near West Memphis, right on the border between Tennessee and Arkansas, a Volkswagen Tegan blew past an Arkansas state trooper at 122 [music] mph. After hesitating, the female driver finally pulled over, only to make the worst decision of her life, flooring it and fleeing again. >> Show me your hands. Show me your hands. I DON'T CARE. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. IS THERE ANYBODY ELSE IN THE CAR? STEP BACK TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. STEP BACK TO MY VOICE. STEP BACK TO YOU BETTER STEP BACK TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE AND DO IT NOW. >> IT'S AN EMERGENCY. >> Listen to me. Listen to me. >> Emergency. >> LISTEN TO ME. >> I'M RUNNING OUT OF GAS. I'M GOING TO RUN OUT OF GAS. >> Listen to me. Turn around and FACE THE OTHER WAY. WALK BACKWARDS TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. WALK BACKWARDS TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. [ __ ] >> THEN YOU BETTER DO WHAT I tell you TO DO. WALK BACKWARDS. >> WALK BACKWARDS. >> Walk backwards TO THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. Walk backwards to the sound of my voice. She was flying down the highway at 122 mph. A speed that could cause absolute disaster. Her excuse? I'm running out of gas. But in Arkansas, that's not going to earn you sympathy. especially when your next move is to jump back in the car and flee again. News flash, this is ASP territory. And out here, if you're doing 120 mph and acting reckless, a TVI is not just expected, it's guaranteed. 275 speed drops. >> A textbook TVI, clean, precise, and devastating. The Volkswagen slammed into the cable barrier, ending the chase. right there. Backup units swarmed in within seconds. >> Step out of the car. Step out OF THE CAR. >> Stop what you're doing. >> The driver somehow walked away without a scratch. >> Safe to say she used up all her luck for the day. >> Real stupid then. Yeah, I hear you. >> What are you doing? What did you do? No, I'm just checking out my car. I'm not doing this to my head 40 times. >> Yeah. You know what? >> Even after the crash, she tried to justify her reckless actions, claiming it was all just a misunderstanding. But for someone old enough to know better, those excuses fell flat fast. There's no defending that kind of dangerous behavior on the road. I walked up to you and you had a gun coming at me. It don't have nothing to do with you drinking. It don't have nothing to do with you running 122, right? >> No. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. I did. Once again, Arkansas takes the spotlight, but this time a pickup driver is about to find out how fast things fall apart. >> August 16th, 2024. Arkansas. A Dodge Ram refuses to pull over for a simple traffic violation. Within moments, Arkansas State Police launch a pursuit with trooper Justin Williams taking the lead. But what began as a routine stop quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. And no one knows how it will end. As the pursuit approached West Little Rock, officers were able to visually confirm through the patrol car's dash cam that the driver was a black male behind the wheel of the fleeing Dodge Ram. Approaching a busy intersection packed with civilian vehicles waiting at a red light, the truck driver showed no signs of slowing down. Instead, he swerved onto the shoulder, dodging traffic and blowing straight through the red light, turning recklessness into pure chaos. vision and perfect timing. He executed a textbook TVI, sending the fleeing pickup truck straight into a roadside ditch. A clean take down. No damage to others, just swift professional police work. And once again, a rear tire found freedom on its own terms, rolling off into the distance like it had its own story to tell. >> Show me your hands. DON'T RUSH THAT [screaming] CAR. DON'T RUSH THAT CAR. DON'T RUSH IT. GET BACK BY COVER. GET BACK COVER. Get back cover. [screaming] Show me your hands. Show me your hands. [screaming] Crawl up here. >> The driver crawled out of the wrecked vehicle without a scratch, but what shocked everyone was that he still tried to finish his beer before getting arrested. He was identified as Andre T. Hunter now facing multiple serious charges, including driving while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license. With everything he's done, Hunter is likely looking at a long time behind bars. Up next, a suspect thought he could outrun justice, but at 111 mph, an Arkansas trooper proves otherwise with one incredible PITE maneuver. On January 30th, 2019, Arkansas police began chasing a stolen white Acura, speeding northbound on I540 from Kelly Highway. Clocked at over 100 mph, the suspect showed no signs of slowing down. setting the stage for one of the most intense pursuits of the year. >> While attempting to overtake a semi-truck at over 80 mph, the suspect's rear tire suddenly shredded, leaving the vehicle riding on just three wheels. At that speed, the car could lose control and slam into innocent drivers at any moment. Seeing an opportunity in a sharp curve, trooper Michael Bowman went for the pit, sending the white Acura fishtailing across the road. But it was too early to celebrate. The suspect regained control and jumped right back into the chase. 15 years old, running on three wheels and a bare rim, yet still hitting 111 mph. >> This might just be the greatest commercial Honda never paid for. >> We're in the bottoms now. You want to try again? >> At 111 mph, Trooper Bowman executed a pinpoint pit. The car twitched, then veered off into the tree line, bringing the chase to a perfectly safe end. Well, safe for everyone except the car and its driver. >> We got her. >> You got her? Somebody else in the car? >> I think I don't think anybody's back in the car. >> I didn't see anybody else in the car. >> Tell me there's my kid in there. >> I think the other stolen He was in front of that other stolen car. She >> The driver was identified as Brittany Putt. She sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Putt now faces charges of theft, felony fleeing, and driving with a suspended license. But what's truly surprising, she was released on her own recgnizance simply by promising to appear in court. Do you agree with the court's decision? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Next up, what began as a typical armed robbery spiraled into tragedy, ending in a way no one saw coming. >> December 3rd, 2024, 3:46 a.m. Virginia. Police respond to an armed robbery at a local business. Moments later, a pursuit begins. The suspect's vehicle, later confirmed stolen, refuses to stop, crossing state lines at high speed. What started as a robbery call is about to spiral into something far more dangerous. 21st now 1830 1831 got an assist to another agency 171 home see him on the left here. >> Great lead. >> The high-speed chase tore down Robert Crane Highway, Broad 301, with speeds topping 100 mph. Officers had to stay razor sharp at that pace. Even a split-second lapse in focus could have meant disaster. >> 14 cell phone sticks were a good hit. >> As the suspect vehicle approached the town of Llata, Charles County deputies and Llata police moved quickly, deploying stop sticks before the blue vehicle could enter the densely populated area. Damn it. >> [screaming] >> At nearly 120, the suspect ran a red light, hit the spike strip, and crashed into a civilian vehicle crossing the intersection. Officers rushed to the scene to assist. The civilian driver sustained minor injuries. The suspect didn't survive long after the crash, while the front seat passenger was stabilized and is expected to recover. This incident raises a difficult question. Will it change how police pursuits are handled? Was the chase worth the cost? As long as suspects flee, officers must act. Let me know your views on this in the comments section. Next, police respond to a domestic call, but things spiral when they realize the driver isn't just angry, he's armed. On September 25th, 2024, a tense pursuit unfolded on Utah's I80 after a suspect fled the scene of a domestic violence incident in Nevada. Throughout the chase, the driver repeatedly called dispatch, claimed to be armed, and refused to stop, threatening a violent confrontation with police. A dangerous standoff was brewing, and things were about to escalate. >> You got your gun and everything, right? >> Yeah. Okay. You might have to deploy with AJ on this. >> This guy starts doing crazy things, so just be ready. >> Okay, he's back and forth. Turn one and two. The spike strips deployed earlier finally paid off. One of the suspect's tires exploded and detached from the wheel, severely limiting his ability to escape. >> I'm going to give him a little look at the helicopter. Okay, >> just lost another tire and a third one. At its peak, the suspect's vehicle hit 120 mph with both rear tires completely gone, grinding the bare rims against the asphalt. Sparks flew from the rear and the car was barely holding on with just the front wheels keeping it alive. >> All right, starting to slow down quite a bit in the middle of the freeway. Heavy smoke, some flames. Got another unmarked it looks like marked. >> I like one of those units to stop traffic in case he comes to stop on the freeway. The pit maneuver slammed the suspect's car into a barrier, bringing the chase to a fiery end. Flames erupted as the vehicle caught fire. And with the suspect and a hostage still inside, one question remains. What made him so dangerously desperate? >> Traffic 27, can you still hear the passenger? Be advised, doors open. Driver door opens fire station on the far side of the structure. >> Female coming out. >> See the left hand. I don't see anything in the driver's left hand, but I cannot see the right. In the end, both the suspect and the victim were forced to exit the vehicle just moments before the flames intensified with the growing risk of a massive explosion looming over the scene. All right, drivers on the ground face down. Can't see all of his hands. Can get a good view of the opposite side of him. Okay. Oh, they're approaching. Okay. Can I smell that now? Smell it. Fire crews arrived just in time and safely extinguished the blaze. The suspect, identified as Colander, was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges, including DUI, drug possession, and more. High-speed escapes, stolen cars, near misses, and one tragic ending. This episode showed us how fast chaos unfolds when suspects choose to run. Behind every crash was a split-second decision. To lie, to flee, or to fight. Some got caught. One didn't survive. But no one walked away unchanged. These stories remind us that public safety isn't just a job for police. It's a responsibility we all share. Yielding to sirens, staying calm, and thinking twice before chasing adrenaline can save lives. The law has limits, but reckless choices don't. Dash cams don't lie. They reveal what consequences truly look like.
