on March 20th 2023 an FHP Trooper was on routine Patrol in Leon County Florida when he noticed a silver Ford F-150 traveling at a high rate of speed the silver Ford passed other vehicles on the roadway and changed lanes multiple times before nearly colliding with a black Nissan that pulled out into the road as the trooper followed the truck he clocked it at 71 miles per hour while passing construction workers in a work Zone and later the driver failed to pull over despite the trooper's activated lights and sirens the driver later identified as Stanley Michael Lance applied pressure to the brakes and slowed the vehicle down to 42 miles per hour before accelerating improperly to 70 miles per hour attempting to flee from the trooper before we start I want to mention our partner data driving try to obey lawful commands from a law enforce officer accelerating while I'm behind you fleeing for me during the search of the vehicle the trooper found paperwork unintelligible writings and hotel bookings indicating that Tallahassee was one of Lance's destinations Lance stated that he was visiting Florida but gave no clear reason for his visit to Tallahassee also found three different identification documents issued a lance including a driver's license from Jalisco Mexico a temporary identification permit from the government of Northwest Territories in Canada and an official driver's license from Alberta Canada all three documents were issued in 2022 but a nationwide search resulted in no United States identification for Lance it was later discovered that Lance identifies as a sovereign citizen claiming that he is not subject to the laws and regulations of the United States He invoked his rights and refused to speak without a lawyer Lance's erratic behavior and unusual identification documents have raised concerns and it remains unclear what his intentions were in Tallahassee the investigation into this bizarre incident is ongoing don't push me I think they make the
