A man in a rubber mask, swaying, buzzing, 22 seconds, then the signal comes back. >> Well, if you're wondering what happened, so am I. >> 2 hours later, it happens again. [music] A different station, during Doctor Who, this time with audio. 90 seconds, longer, stranger. The station cannot cut the signal. He hums a cartoon [music] theme, holds up a Pepsi can, puts on a glove and says his brother has the other one. Then it ends. Doctor Who comes back as if nothing happened. The FCC and FBI investigated. To hijack [music] the signal, you needed a transmitter powerful enough to overpower a TV station, line of sight to the broadcast towers, enormous technical [music] expertise. The FBI never identified the hijacker. The statute of limitations [music] expired in 1992. They could reveal themselves tomorrow. They never have. 37 years, two stations, 90 seconds.
