on march 27 2022 police responded to a
two-vehicle accident with injuries at an
intersection in la crosse wisconsin
a man reportedly ran a red light and was
struck by another vehicle resulting in
one of the vehicles to crash into the
glass wall of a car dealership
the struck vehicle a black acura mdx
possessed a dash cam and the operator
gave consent for police to obtain the
footage
both vehicles sustained heavy disabling
damage on all sides and both occupants
were transported to a local hospital for
injuries
police noted the black acura crashed
into the showroom glass wall how's it
going

wasn't stopping i was quite a ways

the other vehicle a gold dodge charger
had heavy damage as well the operator
was identified as 38 year old travis
schumacher
yeah it was i was looking at it and i
looked at i'm like man that is going
gonna blow that red light yeah and he
went through it and then i saw the other
car coming and i was looking at the
timing i'm like that's not good he's
gonna [ __ ] hit that car you know it
looks weird and then everything slows
down yeah
you know and then it's like a movie
almost like
30 seconds behind it i just checked to
see if he was all right okay i unbelted
him he was buckled that was they say
what hospital do you know or no i'm
assuming they went to gundersen but i
don't know okay yep all right i

an officer spoke with the black acura
driver at the hospital and he was cited
for violating the red traffic signal
he then spoke with travis learned the
vehicle was not insured and informed him
of his revoked driver's license
travis admitted that he does not have a
valid license but had the right of way
and didn't cause the accident
travis was advised by the officer that
pending charges were filed for operating
after revocation and bail jumping the
officer then stated he was going to be
taken into custody upon being medically
cleared
hours later dispatch received a call
from the hospital informing that travis
fled the building on foot during his
treatment
numerous officers responded to the area
however he was not located based on the
incident there was probable cause to
arrest travis and a warrant was
requested
when travis is located he will also be
cited for operating after revocation
speeding 1 to 10 miles per hour over and
operating without insurance
