What the [ __ ] The driver was arrested and charged with offenses including DUI related violations, resisting a peace officer, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The case was forwarded to the court system where final outcomes will be determined by prosecutors and a judge. Small decisions during police encounters can rapidly change outcomes. Calm cooperation often prevents situations from escalating beyond control. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. This is exactly why officers never treat any call as routine. One bad decision turned a simple check into a serious situation. People underestimate how fast things can spiral when they don't cooperate. >> Wesley, come on. >> Yeah. Smile. Smile. I dare you. >> I dare you. >> Okay. Come on. >> Take that [ __ ] off. Can you >> take that F OH YEAH. >> OH YEAH. IT'S FUNNY. On August 24th, 2025 in Joliet, Illinois, officers respond to a disturbance at a residence involving a 47year-old woman who had been told she was no longer welcome there. >> Hi, Leslie. We're back. We're running out of options here, >> you know. Attempts to secure shelter placement failed due to lack of available beds, further increasing her agitation. >> You know anywhere else you can go. >> You guys should have a place for me to go. Smoke a little bit. >> Officers determine the situation is no longer safe and place her under arrest. >> Walk up on me one more time. You're going to jail. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. I'm done with this. >> I didn't do it. >> I'm not having you walk up on me like you're going to beat my ass. We're not doing that. >> I did not do anything. >> We got a bed for you. The woman was arrested for aggravated assault of a police officer and later released on a notice to appear receiving a court date instead of being held on bond. Deescalation requires cooperation from all sides to succeed. Repeated warnings ignored can turn a noncriminal situation into an arrest. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This shows how patience can only go so far. Officers gave multiple chances before it escalated. A tough reminder that emotions can quickly change outcomes. >> Call 47. Deputies respond to a welfare check after concerns are raised about a woman who has not been seen or contacted for several days. Is it smell when you went to the door? >> Yeah, there's a door on the right side. Did you see somebody? You smell it? >> No, I do. There's a reef right there, right? >> Yeah, I saw them. Let's go to the neighbor one next to us over here. See if they're standing by. Officers speak with neighbors who report seeing activity from the sun, but have not seen the woman recently. >> How you doing? >> Hey, doing good. How are you? >> Oh, hi, brother. >> Deputy Fernandez with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. >> Yeah, Robert. >> Have you seen Laney recently? >> The girl? >> Yeah. Next door neighbor. >> Just a guy's over there. >> When's the last time you see him run? >> Him? He usually walks up and down the road, but her I haven't seen her in a while. >> How long would a while be? >> Days? Months? >> Day or two? >> Couple days. >> Three Three Three days or something like that. >> When's the last time you seen the boys? >> Yesterday. >> Oh, there's nobody today. >> Did I see him towing a thing of water in >> today? >> I think it was today. >> Okay. Around what time? Like in the morning, afternoon? I reckon it's in the morning or >> I didn't see >> I just looked out the back window. >> Okay. Have you heard any any fighting? Anything in the last two days? Any loud commotion? >> I know it's would be not abnormal for you to hear yelling and screaming coming from over there. So, >> no, >> nothing. >> No, I >> We're kind of new to the neighborhood, too. So, >> there's been a lot different things going on there. So, it's weird. We're not used to it. >> All right. >> So, if we hear and say anything, >> just called the number right there. That's the non-emergency number. If you see Laney or anything, >> her sister's looking for and she's not able to get a hold of her. So, that's why we're out trying to make contact with her. >> Yeah. So, >> deputies approach the residents and make contact with the son who claims his mother is not home. >> Set up over there. >> Yeah. There ain't nobody in it. >> Okay. And then that back building. Did you try that? >> That's just a shed full of garbage. >> Perfect. If you see anything, just call that number there. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Cuz what? Where the smell? Smells the worst. It's where the drainage is too. >> Yeah. I think it's a salad. >> It's It smells like it. >> I think it's just a >> You don't even smell it. See, you're right here. >> You've tried to break into the house and everything too before. Oh, I'm Did you hear us knocking before? Were you knocked out? >> No, I was sleeping in there. >> I'm glad you woke up. >> The son provides vague answers about his mother's whereabouts and admits limited recent contact. >> You're about to come inside. We're looking for mom. Do you have you seen her? >> She's not around right now. >> Do you know where she's at? Sister's asking for She's not in any trouble or anything like that. I >> have no idea. >> When's the last time you talked to her? >> Um, a few days ago. Where'd she go? >> She back. sometimes. >> Where does she usually go? >> Does she have a favorite place where she likes to go when she's not home? >> Not that I know of. >> Did she tell you anything out of the normal when she last time you saw her? >> No. >> What happened last time you guys were together? >> She gave a few cigarettes, a little bit of some hand soap. Wash my hands. Stay back here. >> Okay. But you haven't seen mom since then. >> When's the last time you text called her or anything like that? >> Okay. When was the last time you saw dad? Week ago. >> Do you know where he's staying at? >> Well, I heard that she might have called the cops on. >> Yeah, he he got arrested the 25th of last month >> for trespassing. Do you have any? >> Officers request permission to check the home to ensure the woman's safety. The son behaves nervously and inconsistently on you. >> All right, >> that's fine. I'll just grab your name. >> Would it be all right if we just went inside to make sure she's not in there? >> Huh? >> I can't tell you no. >> Okay. But you stay here and it's your mom's house. >> Then we're looking for mom. So we just want to make sure mom's not stowed away in a closet or something. Dad didn't come back and retaliate for getting arrested or something like that. >> So if you're not going to tell me yesterday, then we're just going to peek your head in there real quick and then we'll come back outside. You can lead the way if you so please. Go lock the door. >> You could go in with You could go in. >> Just leave us through lock. >> Do you have a key? >> No. >> Why would you lock the door behind you? >> I just usually do that. >> So, how do you get in? >> I don't know. >> How about this other little door that's over here? >> It's uh it's just barricaded out >> with what? >> Uh garbage can and some stuff. So, how do you get in the house and I just lock the door? >> Cuz I feel like you're with me. What the hell? What's the deal? Sorry. >> You understand how how this looks, right? >> Yes, sir. >> So, why? So, how do you get in the house since you locked the door? >> Probably sleep in the tent or >> are you not supposed to be in the house? Is that why you lock the door? >> Yes, sir. >> All right, that's fine. We're not worried about that. We had deputies enter the residence to verify the situation after noticing several concerning signs. Main concern right now is finding mom. >> That's it. >> If you know you're not supposed to be here, that's on whatever. We can deal with that at a later point in time. I really don't care about that. Yeah. >> My main goal is making sure mom's okay. Find mom and do that. That's what we're here for. We're not here for you. Can you sleep in the bed or whatever? So, >> okay. >> So, obviously you went in and unlocked it from the inside. Did you get in? Do you just push that one thing open to get in or the other door? >> You mind doing that for us right now? >> Jessica is her boyfriend. >> I think if you shimmy it in to the right, we'll be able to just pull it out. He's one of the sh. >> So push it into the right. >> Keep pushing it in. Now try to move it out and then push it out. There you go. >> There we go. Officers discover that the woman is deceased and the situation escalates into a criminal investigation. Yeah. >> All right. So, are you sure mom's not in there? >> You're going to tell me you didn't know mom was in there? >> No. >> Okay. Stand up for me. Put your hands right back. And now we got a whole bigger issue. Call 400 and come out here. >> Yeah, I don't have a sponge. Just gone through >> 400 >> 431 to 400. >> Just going to read your Miranda so you know your rights before anything happens. Okay. All right. So, you have the right to remain silent. >> So, after being read these rights, do you still wish to talk to us? >> We're not going to ask you any questions at this point in time, but some someone at some point will be asking you question. Can you describe what >> read his Miranda writes and gives a recorded statement with multiple contradictions. The mom looks like today. >> Like skinny, tall, fat, wide, >> 120 lb, 5'9. >> Okay. >> You usually wear a bandana >> like a bandana, like a headband. >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, I'm just going to get a statement from you. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> It'll be recorded so we could do this once so I won't have to talk to you again. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. So, go ahead and tell me what's what's going on. What happened? >> I don't know. >> Well, you do know cuz I'm You've been there for a while and you smell. >> Yeah, I am. >> So, >> I smell. >> When we first got here and talked to, you said you hadn't seen mom in how long? >> Few days. >> A few days. When is is that the act your actual answer or what's what is the answer you want to swear to the last time you saw mom? >> We were talking around the house here. I mean, yeah, I seen her riding a bike and uh she gave me a few cigarettes and stuff and told me to stop back by the house later and I came and stopped back by the house later and we were talking and cleaning up the yard and cleaning up the house and everything and she told me I could stay inside and a few days ago. >> But you said that wasn't the truth that you weren't supposed to be staying inside. >> Yes. Yes. When we talked to you over there, I said you're not supposed to be here. That's >> So, >> no contact order. >> Okay. >> I believe. >> Do you know if it's still active or no? >> No, sir. >> Okay. >> I don't know for sure. I figured if she >> during questioning, the son admits he was aware of the situation but failed to report it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What is there no contact order between you and mom for? >> He got into the dispute. >> Um, she said I slapped her, punched her. >> So battery. >> Yes, sir. >> Domestic stuff. >> Yes, sir. >> When's the last time you seen dad? >> This last week, I believe. >> Okay. Did What did How did your conversation with dad go the last time you saw him? bad. >> Bad. >> It wasn't bad. >> Wasn't bad. >> How about between mom and dad? Did they talk? >> Um, the only thing I knew is she told at that point in time when she got home, she told me and him both to leave. So, I left and went walking somewhere, stayed away. >> Okay. >> And your and mom's relationship has been good as of as of late. >> Yeah. I guess she Well, she she let you back in even though you weren't supposed to be here. >> Okay. >> And then >> did you notice anything different while you've been staying here? >> Did that not raise any alarm to you? You have not heard from her in a couple months. >> Did you go and check? >> I did kind of look in there. See, I guess I should I mean I don't have a cell phone or anything. >> So you saw her in the position that she's currently in now. >> So why did you tell us that mom wasn't there? Yes. >> The incident concluded with the son charged for failing to report a death to the medical examiner and resisting arrest without violence. He was sentenced to 63 days in jail, bringing the case to a formal close. Failing to report critical situations can lead to serious legal consequences. And you're >> giving my my kids father >> a call. >> I mean, if he can take both of them, >> let I I need his name. Uh um does he have a social security number or anything like that? I need all that. I have to run a background check on them and I have to notify children's services because they're going to have to be the ones that say yes, they can go, "Dad, all right. You are going to have to go with me down the down to the sheriff's office. Your brother is going to have to go with us down to the sheriff's office. There's nothing we can do about that. I want you to understand that." >> So, who are you going to jail? >> Huh? You and your brother will want to go to jail. Yes. I am going to give you a little time with your kids. Okay. Thank you. >> So, when I came in here, these dividers have been pushed, swiveled, and were laying on the ground kind of diagonally and down here. Um, looks like somebody just took them and just started shaking them violently and just tore them off the wall. He went back in and he was the one that actually alerted me of the problem in the bathroom. >> Yeah. The gentleman started yelling at the bartender saying, "You work for me. I don't know what you're talking about." >> And I Yeah. I divided them. >> You think the bartenders are the cops? The guy the guy went to the blue shirt guy and was like, "Why are you trying to be a hero? Now is not the time." You know, and the guy's like, you know, I'm not trying to do anything. I divided them. [screaming] [laughter] My baby. My baby. My baby. >> [crying] >> What's wrong with you? >> The scene concluded with officers securing the situation and ensuring follow-up actions were taken. >> You stupid ass. Stupid ass [ __ ] >> LOOK AT YOU. SHORT ASS [ __ ] >> MOVE. >> Thank you. >> Let's go. COME ON. ACT LIKE AN ADULT. [screaming] >> My head. YOU [screaming] >> look terrible. >> No. No, look my [screaming] hand. >> Stupid. Look at my hand. Stupid. Look at my hand. >> Look at my hand. >> Stupid. Look at my hand. >> Oh my god. What happened to hell? >> Come on. You want to adjust [screaming] >> double? NO, THAT'S that's >> one adult being arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting lawful police instructions and remaining on private property after being formally trespassed with additional charges considered related to public disturbance and unsafe behavior. Poor decision-making in public spaces can quickly spiral into serious legal consequences. Remaining calm and cooperative often prevents situations from becoming much worse. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. This was hard to watch. Some people should seriously reconsider how they behave in front of others. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. Responsibility doesn't disappear just because emotions are high. Situations like this show how adults can create chaos instead of resolving problems. Think the last move was bold. And I said, "Oh my god, there are people back there. There's kids." On September 14th, 2025, bystanders contacted police after hearing unusual sounds coming from a parked vehicle outside a retail store, raising immediate safety concerns. >> What's up, brother? >> They said they uh so the car was so they managed to get the key from their side. Is the car on or off? >> The car's off. >> There's another little girl. She's 70 years old. She was I don't know. >> Another person here took No, >> just grandma. Me. I'm her friend. She in the store. I went this way. >> She took the little girl so we can try to find out who the mama was. The little girl. She can watch them in there. >> Okay. But where's the seven-year-old daughter? >> Some lady took in the store. >> She took >> and with the keys. >> The lady took in the store because we was trying to figure out who the parent was. So because she is the the oldest out of them, >> officers arrived and learned that several children had been left unattended inside the vehicle while adults were away. >> They was already over here. >> So them two plus the seven-year-old were in the trunk. >> I pulled Yeah, cuz they was already over here on the phone, I guess, calling y'all and they couldn't open the door and the car was up. So when I came, I pulled I just out the trunk. They was on top. This one was on top of that one. But I took my seat with a sevenyear-old. The seven-year-old was watching them. >> This is the grand. >> You're the friend of the grandmother. >> I had the car >> and the car was off. [snorts] >> Back door. Mommy, this where your kids is at. I put I'm just saying it was locked. I took the back the car seat from top and I just pulled the seat back. He was in the trunk. >> Who's that? Is that the owner of the vehicle? >> Mother, >> are you the owner of this vehicle? >> I just real How long were you do you leave these? >> Okay. cuz cuz we have people that are coming to the car and they're saying that >> this car was off with no AC with two babies in the car >> and then >> I don't know why she got out the car. >> I was watching them but he >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Who are you? >> I'm a friend of hers. >> Witnesses explained they intervened to check on the situation after becoming increasingly concerned. >> He first started calling 911. He saw me standing out there on the car. >> We went to go use the bathroom. >> So you were here at the car? >> Yes. I guess cuz I wasn't right there. He feel like they buy their stuff. So I told the young lady to watch them while I go get them off. >> It's just a bunch of nonsense. >> That don't make no sense. They just do too much right here. >> So were you the one that was watching the kids? >> Yes. >> She went inside? >> Yes. >> I got the kids and everything. He said, "Oh no, they by their stuff." I didn't see you took the car. >> You mind me asking why did you take the sevenyear-old inside and leave the kids? >> She was right here watching him. I asked her to watch them for me while I go get her to tell you what she did. >> No, I was watching them. I told her to watch them for me while I go get her cuz I'm like, he's doing too much. She making a big scene for no reason. There's nothing wrong. >> You were watching him, too. >> Was the car on or off? >> The car was off. I had the key. >> Yeah. They making a big s. He kept calling pictures out the tag and everything like what? I I'm so upset with him. >> How long were you guys gone for with the car? We was not gone. I was here. She ran inside to get some shoes and get some clothes. This don't make no sense. This just don't make no damn sense. And I'm telling him I'm here right here on the phone with 911. Then he took pictures of the text. Oh, my girlfriend together in his car. >> Yes. >> Okay. And you were just outside of the car. >> And are you with them or are you just helping out? >> I was helping out. I walked over. Police separated individuals involved and attempted to determine who was responsible for supervising the children. >> I seen them over here. >> Question. You mind stepping over here real quick so I can ask you a quick question? >> When you when you came over >> Mhm. >> Who was watching the video? >> Nobody. She that lady lying. She don't even know them people. >> She She doesn't know who they are. So she was >> little girl to go in the store cuz what happened was when I came out of Walmart I seen them already up there talking I seen them kept saying a great car but they now mind you I'm at my car I'm parked over there so you know I ain't being funny I'm like damn >> I seen the Spanish people over there and I hear them saying kids in a gray car. So you know I ain't going to care. I turned around like what the [ __ ] they pointing at? They keep saying kids in the car by >> I never saw her like around the area. >> Them people that Spanish them people say them kids. them kids when I pulled them out the back. Them kids are cold and sweat, bro. They diapers is so they smell like >> and she went to take her to go find the mama. So she Yeah. She asked me to watch him while she go find the mama and I just gave [music] him the water. So >> did did she leave him in the car until you watch him or did you are you the one that took them out and put him in the shopping cart? >> No, I took I put him in the shopping cart. I just took them out of the car. >> Okay. You're the one that took Okay. >> heard him talking and I told her I was going to leave. She said, "No, don't leave." Cuz they really don't think they leave by theelves. And then that's when I said, "Well, just watch the phone while I go leave the mama." >> Yeah, I got you. All right. Just stand by for a second. All right. >> Did you two come here together? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you left them in the car by themselves? >> No. So, what? >> Conflicting explanations were given as officers worked to establish a clear timeline of events. >> Yeah. First, >> I pulled him out and then that's when I realized it was another baby. So, but you seen them in the car by themselves? >> Yeah, they was. And then she I got her out and when when I pulled her out, that's when I seen that one. And I >> So, it must have been when she came to get me to get my car. >> No. So, no. Because >> they wasn't in the car long, but they were alone for long enough for multiple people to call. >> So, when she got her, that lady got her. So, we was like, let's just go try to find the mom cuz they was already on the phone with police, you know. I said phone. >> So, with all this being said, you left your kids alone. Hold on. >> Leave them alone. I went in the store to give her the car. I went in there to give her my bank card. >> No, no, but you have to understand, you left them alone long enough for multiple people to call for their wellbeing. It is what it is, right? Lesson learned. We're not going to do that again because if she would have put the car in drive or put the car in reverse, that's a rem that's a freaking removal, right? Seus will be called. Officers emphasized that leaving children unattended in a vehicle creates serious safety risks regardless of intent. >> Cannot do that. I'm sorry. It is what it is. I understand you're trying to do whatever it is that you got to do, but mom to mom, it's 90° outside. You left him in the car long enough. Multiple people call 911. It cannot happen. Not only that, you left them in there long enough that someone was able enough to remove them from the car, have fire, rescue come, then have the police come. That's too long. Do you understand where I'm coming from? Okay, it's South Florida. People kidnap kids all the time and that's an easy lick. So, before we go, I need to make sure those car seats are installed correctly. >> How old are the little ones? >> She's seven. >> Grandma, that ain't going to work. >> They got to still get her strapped up. She got to take her out. >> Whose phone is this? >> Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. >> How old is this one? >> She's two. >> The little one. >> I'm going to tell you this right now. These aren't the correct car seats >> for them. We Walmart has video cameras. The kids were by themselves for 37 minutes across 30. >> Further investigation, including store surveillance, showed the children had been left alone for an extended period. 7 minutes. I don't know if you let time escape you, whatever. But at the end of the day, they left 37 minutes unattended for >> that's But it was though cuz we got it on camera. We have you walking in. We have both you guys walking in and then we have you walking out with the car and then the lady in the purple dress coming to get you. It's between 37 and 40 minutes. Okay. My sergeant is on his way out here. I think he's going to come out here and talk to you and figure out what to do from here. But mom, you [screaming] can't do that. Does your AC work? >> Okay. >> I just got to fix >> it because you're back. >> Okay. All right. Well, you guys just got to wait. >> Okay. >> So, tell me what happened today. >> So, we were walking. I I usually never park here. I usually park there. So, we happen to come to Walmart and we started walking. As we got to the door, before the door, her son is the one that noticed that there was a sound coming like a knock. A knock >> on the back of the trunk. Did you see him? >> I saw the car seat. >> He saw the car seats, but he said, "I think there's somebody in there." >> So, you noticed the sound in the back of the trunk? >> Yeah. As we started walking down there, then I then he said, "Let's go take a look." So, I thought about it. I said, "That's not that couldn't be true." But I went and took a look anyways. So, we had nothing to do. So, when we look, I don't see nobody there. but he's the one that noticed that there was uh they were stuffed in the back of the the truck. >> Supervisors were called to the scene as officers discussed possible protective actions. >> And I said, "Oh my god, there are people back there. There's kids." >> How do you know that there was kids in the trunk? >> Because we were looking inside the the car. >> Looking inside the car, >> correct? >> And you saw what? A hand, a foot. >> I seen I seen foot and I seen diapers and stuff a little bit like that moving. >> So you seen a foot sticking out? >> Yes. Yes, ma'am. >> All right. So hold on. >> That's when I called quickly. The car was off. There was no AC blowing in there. And we even looked in a car. The car car was completely off. >> Who do you live with? >> I have my own place. >> You don't live with anybody? >> No. >> Do you have any family member in the area? >> Why am I going to go to jail? >> To be honest, yes. >> Like, what did I do wrong? >> Okay. So, I'm going to explain this to you, right? I have two witnesses. We're just going to I'm going to explain to you. I have two witnesses, mom to mom, cuz I have a 5-year-old. I have two witnesses that called 911. Your kids were found in the trunk of a car with Oh, yes. >> They play in the trunk of the car. They wasn't found in no trunk of the car. >> No, no, no. That's how they got noticed. Cuz they heard a >> Yeah, cuz they be playing in the trunk. You can ask my daughter. >> No, no, no. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care about that. >> This You can ask why. They always be playing in the trunk. They always >> in 90° weather. >> The car was on. No, it wasn't. >> I swear to you, you can ask my child. She could tell you the car was on. Okay, but you can ask my daughter. >> Authorities explained that immediate decisions were required to ensure the children's wellbeing. >> The car was on. >> She's seven. I'm talking to >> It doesn't matter what I talk to them. They're going to ask my daughter question and she's going to tell them. It's going to >> They're also going to talk to two grown adults, not a seveny old. >> But y'all not taking my my story either. Y'all just taking Walmart. Yeah, but not for long. >> For 37 minutes. >> I saw you on camera. Go inside that store and you were gone for 37 minutes. >> So, I'm trying to help you out. >> No, because I was so >> You don't have any family members? >> I told her that I was not going to go in the store, >> but because I had need to grab a few extra things, I still didn't even go with my first mom. I've never been to no jail. >> We know. We know. But you need to call. >> The situation concluded with officers taking enforcement action and arranging care for the children. >> Family member to go with them. >> Do you understand? >> I cannot afford to go to jail. >> Okay. Look, it's either it's either you can find a family member. >> I mean, I'm not. >> The incident concluded with the mother arrested and charged with child neglect. the children released to their grandmother and authorities continuing a review to determine any further actions. Short absences can still lead to serious consequences when children are left unattended. Public safety decisions are based on risk, not intentions or explanations after the fact. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. This situation never should have reached this point. Adults need to think before acting. It's frustrating to see preventable choices put others at risk. There's no excuse for ignoring basic responsibility, especially in public places. That thief thought they had it all figured out. But the next one, even sneakier, stay tuned and comment your guess. >> When we buckle in our kids, or if their kids aren't buckled in, um the it's in the center council, so we like to take it out. We weren't lingering. We were putting the car the kids in the car. On July 29th, 2024, officers respond to a call involving a woman accused of pulling a gun during a heated argument with restaurant staff over service. >> Right now, I just put your hands on your back. Just drop the cigarette. You're not in trouble. You're just being detained right now for my safety. You do have a signal. You have a a firearm on it. >> Okay. >> Where's it at? >> It's on my my right. How many units do you need? >> I have kids in the car, so I don't want to leave it. I just want you to take a >> She denies intentionally showing the firearm, claiming her shirt shifted while securing her toddler in the car. >> That's all. >> We're just We're going to hear every side out. >> I didn't touch her. I didn't do anything. >> You're just being detained because again, that's just a procedure. >> Okay. >> I'm like scared now. There's like so many Miranda. >> Dorsy's inside talking to the other guy. >> They got into a verbal argument. Um >> I didn't even I didn't touch her. She left and then she went back in to get her kids to leave, >> but she's saying she denies ever showing her. >> I didn't show it to nobody. I fixed my shirt because I have a toddler and I noticed it. My shirt's loose. So, I noticed it was kind of showing and tucking in as I was buckling in my toddler. So, I went like this to pull my shirt down. >> We're going to figure it out. >> That's all I did. not a restaurant or anything. >> A witness seated near the restaurant owners states that the woman lifted her shirt and exposed the firearm while exiting which he perceived as intimidation. >> Wanted to be shown for that reason cuz I was afraid that they were going to think that I was trying to do that. So I wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to pop out of my shirt. >> Yeah. I just talked to this deputy here. >> Yeah. How you doing? What did What did you see happen? So, I was sitting at the head table here where a lot of the owners and a lot of the people that are regulars are sitting. Okay. >> And um she got pissed, I guess, either by the level of service or whatever. She decided to brandish. >> Well, when when you mean brandish, like what did she do? >> Like, >> where was this at? >> She pulled her shirt up and showed >> right there >> inside. Yes. >> Okay. Okay. Did she say anything when when that happened? Was she >> she didn't make any threats? She But >> as an ex cop from Chicago, >> okay, >> you know, like you don't have to >> was she paying a bill or was was she she already ate? They were already they were already upset about the >> something >> transactions or the service or whatever. >> But as she started to walk out and she wasn't happy with the customer service, >> it became this. >> To me, that's brandishing. And I would say in my right state of mind, and I'm not going to lie, I've been drinking. >> Mhm. As she was walking out, she did that like walking to the door. >> I would say that it was an intimidation thing. >> Okay. >> And as she started to make her way out, she had a complaint. >> Okay. >> The complaint became belligerent. >> Okay. >> And became one of Okay. All right. This is so unnecessary. >> So, I'm Dude, she's going to say that I [ __ ] I tried to put my hands on her. She's going to say all this she got in my face. >> It's okay. We have multiple witnesses. >> The restaurant owner reports that the woman displayed the firearm in a threatening manner during a confrontation outside the business. >> To get my kids, dude, that they had >> I know. I know. She's got anxiety. She's bipolar depression. >> I just want my kids. I have postpartum. Like I >> You're separating me from my kids. >> Can you please check on Luca? >> Embarrassing, bro. >> This is so embarrassing. They told us to leave and that's what we're doing. >> They were sitting on that side. They got pissed off because everybody in the bar is a little loud. And then husband, boyfriend, whatever. He came out here and he said to my husband, "If you don't control his mouth, I'm going to go and control it myself." My husband's like, "Don't worry about it. You know, I understand. We're going to close the doors." So, I went and closed the doors. When I closed the door, he's like, "Well, she should have done that before." I pretend I didn't even hear and I walked out because I we had prior problems with his father here before for being disrespectful and calling people out, whatever. So Scott apologized outside to him. Said, "Listen, you know, I'll cover your bill as an apology, whatever." And then she got mad. She's like, "Oh, I don't need you to cover my bill. The principal is that you cursed and I have a son." I was sitting here cry or whatever. And she started calling me a That's when I got up. I was like, "What did I do to you? to treat you bad. Like, oh, you gave me a nasty look. And then she started like acting like she's taking all the stuff out of her pocket to fight me. >> She was inside or outside? >> Outside. I was outside with her. And then I came back inside and she was there. >> She put the baby and the stuff continue cursing, whatever. Then she branded her gun like this way as if she's going to do something to me. >> The woman explains that the firearm was removed from the car to prevent children from accessing it while unbuckled. >> I felt like that was a threat. I'm sorry. >> What did it look like? like a limeish color. Lilac holster >> like a green, blue, yellow, purple, >> greenish. >> Okay. >> Greenish blue. >> Are you willing to ride or insane? >> Absolutely. >> You guys want to pursue charges? >> Absolutely. >> Yes. >> Okay. Do you have your ID with you? >> Yeah. >> I just came here to have lunch with my kids. We've been coming here for years. We have spent our next question. Have you guys been here before? Like, do they thousands? I'm Portuguese. My parents are from Portugal. They come here first >> once a week when they lived here and they know them very well. So that's part where I'm a little confused. And he said the last time my dad was here, he was >> they're taking it out against us. >> And then now that's basically I feel like what my dad did or whatever is being taken out on us now. >> Dude, this is crazy, bro. I've never >> I've never done anything to her for her to talk to me like that. >> Do you have your ID with you, too? >> Yeah, I do. >> Can I like move in the shade a little bit? I'm like standing right in the sun and I just want to see my new door. >> And you have no weapons on you, do you? >> No, sir. >> Are there any of the weapons in the car? >> The only one that that you just took. That's >> okay. So, where did the firearm come into play? >> Uh, she um so when we buckle in our kids or if their kids aren't buckled in, um the it's in the center console. So, we like to take it out or either put it on one of our hips. >> So, it's just in case he doesn't fumble around and get in in there cuz we were going to smoke a cigarette before we got into the car. >> Okay. So, it wasn't with you guys when you're inside. >> Uh no, we don't bring it inside. So, what was the exact reason for taking the gun out of the car then? >> Because my four-year-old is sitting in the car right now by himself and he wasn't buckled and sometimes he likes to crawl in the front. >> Officers question why the couple lingered to smoke after an argument instead of immediately leaving the property. >> See, and like, you know, kind of go through stuff. So, anytime we're smoking a cigarette before we leave somewhere, either me or my husband, if he's with me, take the gun out of the car and strap it to our hip cuz we can't just leave it laying somewhere. So, we strap it so it's on us and then when we get in the car, we put it back to where it belongs and then we go home. >> Before that point, like before the whole putting the kids in the car, you guys didn't already smoke a cigarette. >> Oh, he did. He was outside smoking a cigarette. I had come outside to smoke a cigarette before we had gotten the kids in the car, but then she had started screaming at me and the whole altercation happened. So, I didn't even get to. So then, >> so if the altercation happened, right, as you explained, so you guys just argue with them. You intended to then go and smoke a cigarette in front of business. >> No, I was putting my kids in the car. So as my husband's trying to buckle in my kids and we were getting ready to leave, I had a cigarette in my hand cuz I was stressed out. So I was like, "All right, I'm going to just smoke a cigarette before we get in the car and go." >> Okay. But what I'm saying is, okay, you just had an oresh with them inside. Okay. So you guys were leaving. >> Yes. >> He already came out to smoke a cigarette, >> correct? >> Right. >> I should have just left. You're right. I should have stayed and smoked the cigarette. >> You're saying that you were then going to have to put the kids in the car, then stand in front of the business of what you just argued with both owners in front of and then smoke in front of business. >> I just I didn't think that two seconds >> we were back here. I'm talking to her right now. >> I was here in the parking lot. I didn't >> I'm not saying I'm not saying where you're standing, but I'm saying that you just had an argument with someone. You guys are trying to separate and then you're going to stay center of business for the extent of smoking a cigarette. >> I only took a couple drives off of the cigarette. I didn't think it was going to cause such an issue >> cuz we were leaving. >> It's not I'm not saying it's about how much you actually smoke. >> It's just in general. >> I'm not saying that you had an argument and then after the argument, you're going to smoke. >> I get it. I should have just left. I have really bad anxiety, so I just I needed a cigarette, so I took a I should have just left. You're right. >> The woman becomes visibly distressed, repeatedly asking if she is going to jail and citing anxiety, postpartum issues, and breastfeeding. So, what about them saying that you guys were like you and the wife were trying to fight? >> No, we didn't even get near each other. She was We got into a screaming match. Okay. >> I was far away from her. >> Taking stuff out of your pockets to fight. >> No, I gave my phone to my husband to go get my kids. >> Where are the kids at? >> Inside. >> I get that you want to jump in. He's just getting her statement for right now. If you got something to add, you can talk to him after. >> Yeah. Honey, can you check on the camera? Your mom's like scared. >> I'm I'm going to call Kenny right now. >> I didn't do anything wrong. I'm so confused. I didn't touch nobody or anything. >> I'm I'm so confused. Like, why she even called the cops? Like, we didn't even get near each other. >> Okay, just for the time being, just cuz a lot of people had to leave. You're not under arrest right now. I'm trying have you sit in the back so I can do what I need to do cuz we're >> I'm going to jail. I still need to figure out exactly what occurred in the the statute, but I'm going to have you sit in the back for now. You're detained at this time, but I need I need you to sit back there while I do what I need to do. >> Am I going >> Do you have anything else in your pockets at all just right now? >> No. Am I going to jail? >> What's in your uh back pocket? >> That's the He took the holster out. >> No, your back pocket. >> A lighter. >> I'm trying to take the cigarettes out. Okay. >> Am I going to jail? >> Like I said, right now you're detained. What's in this back right pocket? >> The lighter. You pull it out for me. >> Yeah, I'm going to jail. >> I didn't say you're I said right now you're just detained. Okay, just sit back here for now. It's like I said, >> I have a newborn. I can't go to jail. >> Officers determined the firearm was visible enough for witnesses to clearly describe it meeting criteria for improper display. >> I didn't do anything. I can't take my glasses off of my face. I feeling claustrophobic. And is the AC on? >> I can roll the windows down and get you some air. Just like I said, obviously everyone's leaving, right? That's That's what you're sitting back here right now. Okay. >> Who do you want? >> I'm going to keep saying >> Can I sit up? >> I didn't get it on video yet. >> Yeah, we also >> That's fine. We I just forget to I'll document it, too. >> He keeps saying, >> you got a question before I walk inside? >> Yeah. I'm I'm I'm just so confused on because of the fact that they started that whole situation and we're in this position right now because they started it. >> Yeah. I mean either way um just first and foremost this is going to be written trespass form. You're not trespassing the business. You come back from this point forward. Then you be arrest. >> This is your copy. >> Um so at this point she is going to go to jail. >> What? >> For improper display of a firearm. >> She never displayed it though. >> Well it's it's how they perceived it. They saw the farm. >> Despite her denial of intent, officers explained perception and witness statements are key factors under the statute. >> They were able to describe the firearm. So, was out at at some point enough for them to be able to vividly describe exactly what color or what it looked like. Okay. >> Yeah. Because her shirt was it >> if you guys were in an argument with someone, then there should have been no reason to even touch a firearm or or any manipulate in any way, or formul. >> Well, you guys should have got in the car and left. That's respectfully. That's what should have been happened. >> Okay. Um either way, that's just how it is right now. They saw a farm. They felt threatened by the the side of the farm and the way it was displayed. >> Well, she was she was threatening us. She we we we fear for our lives because she was trying to be >> So, were you saying that she showed the gun cuz she was in fear? >> Yeah. >> So, you're saying she intentionally to show the gun? >> No, she didn't intentionally show the gun. >> Okay. So, she didn't show the gun cuz she was in fear. Cuz she didn't on purpose. >> No. No. It was It was The only reason why it came out is because our kids were in the car. >> But that should have been a nonissue. You guys just got in the car and left. >> I get it. But for the hostile situation, she has anxiety, right? She has she's >> depressed. So, she had anxiety. She should have left immediately, not lingered around trying to smoke us another cigarette or anything. >> We weren't lingering. We were putting the car the kids in the car. >> Either way, that's what's going to happen. It's It's just a mism, but she should be able to get booked and then be able to call you and figure out bonding and all that. All right. >> Oh my god, you guys are ridiculous, bro. I just called Kenny commander and he's like, "Dude, that's >> that's fine." Um >> either way, him being a commander has nothing to do and you knowing him has nothing to do with this place in time which my investigation she committed a crime. All right. And she was going to jail for that crime. >> All right. >> All right. >> Just take that off of your head off the >> like I did. I didn't even show it at all. Officer, this is what I'm trying to tell you. >> I don't know how I >> If that's the case, they it was out enough and to the point where they were able to see it and just Yes, the deal. The bottom part. >> They were able to describe this and the gun. >> How? The whole deal. >> It was out in a manner that's not for them to see. I guess I don't know. I wasn't here. I just based off statements. >> What happened? >> Either way, you would talk attorney and figure that part out. But at this time, you have to just basic. >> I don't believe so. You just have to get books. >> I'm breastfeeding. I can't. My My baby needs to like be in hours. I I don't know how. What am I supposed to do? So, you're going to go down, get booked, talk to the jail. They'll be able to answer a question about matter for you. As soon as you're booked my reports on it's not going to take me that long. You'll to get released. I have to post my >> No, he he'll be able to do all of that. He'll he'll call a bonds vin. It's It's 10%. I I do not believe so. I'm not going to tell you one certain no, but I'm almost certain cuz it's a misdemeanor offense that you don't need to. It's not considered a violent uh felony. You don't need to apologize to me. open up. >> I know what you're saying, but I >> promise you I didn't flip it with anybody. My shirt got stuck, >> but you can see how it looks, right? Where you're just arguing. But I never have my babies with me. >> I hear you. But that's just that's the reason why. Okay. It has to be this way. You'll go down, you get booked, and you'll be able to get out. Okay. >> I'm sorry, Bubba. Marley's not coming. Let me be home tonight. Let me be home tonight. Okay. >> I'm sorry, Bubba. All right. So, it's just a misdemeanor arrest. >> The woman was charged with improper display of a firearm classified as a misdemeanor offense. Officers cited multiple witness statements describing visible exposure of the firearm during a dispute. The case proceeded through booking bond determination and standard court review. Remember, firearms, even when legally owned, must be handled with extreme care during emotional or confrontational situations. Lingering after a dispute while armed, can escalate a situation and lead to serious legal consequences. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Even accidental exposure of a gun can feel threatening in a public place. This situation could have been avoided by just leaving immediately. Anxiety isn't an excuse when kids and firearms are involved. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when angry woman loses it. Chases 14-year-old on sidewalk with her car. >> God forbid you hit somebody. I promise you I'll do everything in my power to make sure you go to jail. He went away from me in here because he was afraid of me. >> On June 10th, 2025, a 14-year-old reports being chased by a woman in a car after riding his ebike too fast on a sidewalk. Deputies review video showing a vehicle following closely behind him. >> So, what's going on today? >> I don't know if you've seen the videos over the incident that's happened Saturday. >> I've not seen the videos. I tried to read up on >> there's this lady trying to hit me. >> That is the voice of a teenager. And this >> the teen's parent demands charges calling the incident child endangerment and insisting the driver intentionally pursued the boy. >> Was their view as they rode their ebike down a sidewalk. That's a car following them. And Flagler County deputies say the woman behind the wheel was driving after him on purpose. >> She put my child in danger. >> I understand that. >> So, whatever it is, I don't care if we're stretching it to the back. >> The woman admits she chased the teen, claiming he nearly hit her and her dog days earlier and that she wanted to talk to him or find his parents. hips replaced. >> I also have a dog who I was throwing the ball up the squeaking toy for him. He wasn't in the street. This boy comes down on the sidewalk 35 miles an hour. I'm not kidding you. Two nights ago or in the evening I'm on the street that goes along there. He comes right at me and I was like, "You have to slow down when people are here." >> He thought that was funny. So they go more. And so then tonight, so I get my car to try to catch him because I thought he lived in the neighborhood. I wanted to either see where he lived, to talk to his mother nicely, or I wanted to talk to him nicely >> cuz I thought he was my neighbor. >> She justifies her actions by citing her age, medical issues, and fear of being seriously injured while minimizing the danger of driving on the sidewalk. >> No, guess what? He doesn't even live in here. >> So then I go after him to try to find him because I know you're never going to find him. And they're all like, "You're acting recklessly." I was like, "You don't even know what happened." First of all, if he hits me with two replaced hips and I can't walk anymore, cuz believe me, if I go down, I'm not walking anymore. That's going to be bad enough. If he hits my dog, you I don't know if you have a dog, but that's my child. And I would have called you actually. And then I went and got in the W's. I couldn't get out of the W's. Guess what? Because my GPS won't work. Come on. My phone said, "Do you want to come in the house?" >> No. My phone is in the house. I couldn't even use my GPS to get out. Um, but let's put it this way. He could have disabled me for the rest of my life. And he's probably what, 17? He would have gone home the rest of his life, living a great life, and I'd have been in a wheelchair or he would have hit my dog. And then >> deputies confront her with video evidence, warning she could have killed the teen, and explaining her car legally qualifies as a deadly weapon. I would have found him and it would have gotten ugly. >> What's your name? >> Julia. >> Julia. Okay. So, I got video of you driving up on the sidewalk recklessly. You would have hit that kid on a bike and killed him. You're going to jail for manslaughter. >> I'm not going to hit him and kill him. >> You're You're driving recklessly on the sidewalk where people walk their dogs and ride their bikes. That video of you doing almost 30 miles an hour up that sidewalk. >> I was trying to catch him. >> Ma'am, >> I'm listening. I'm listening. >> Cuz you're this close to going to jail. >> I'm listening. >> You understand? I understand you're concerned about kids driving. You call us. We do. >> The woman becomes emotional, repeatedly acknowledging her behavior was stupid while still attempting to rationalize why she followed him. >> Hard to find him, right? You think 65 years old, right? You think it's a smart idea to be driving up on a sidewalk doing 30 miles an hour chasing a kid on a bike? Answer the question. >> I don't consider that a sidewalk. >> What do you consider? >> There's cars on there all the time. >> They're parked up on the grass so they can walk on the sidewalk. All right, >> you are doing I got you for at least three minutes >> up on the sidewalk driving recklessly over 30 miles an hour from what my reporting party told me. >> And you can see he was going faster than me. >> You still think you're correct? >> That's how you do it again. You are going to jail for taking >> I will never do it again. >> Do you understand what your actions? >> I do understand. I was very emotional. >> Okay. So maybe you think you collect yourself as a 65year-old woman about what you were doing. You would hit anybody else on that sidewalk besides this kid if you didn't. >> I say there was no I I I'm not disagreeing with you, but I >> You're wrong for trying to >> make this sound correct on your end. >> Okay. You're 100% wrong. >> I won't. I'll stop. >> All right. You see somebody, you call us. You don't take it into your own hands. >> All right. You're right. >> God forbid you hit somebody. I promise you I'll do everything in my power to make sure you go to jail. >> You're right. >> Take your car and what else I can do for you. Officers clearly state she was 100% in the wrong, emphasizing that citizens must call police instead of taking enforcement into their own hands. >> I find out you're doing it again. Chasing this kid even on the road. >> Oh god. No. This was >> But it was a great idea to follow him on the sidewalk and chase. >> No. Like I said, I was It was like >> I hear what you said. >> I know. >> You're not I want you to listen. >> I'm listen. >> This kid does it again. You chase him in your car again, we'll get you for aggravated assault. >> Of course, I'm not going to. >> But you did it. I know. >> You were willing to chase this kid as far as it could go until this other car, this person that called us, stopped you. >> They blocked you at the sidewalk. Correct. >> Yeah. >> Where does this make sense to you? >> Okay. It doesn't. >> Do you live alone? >> Yes. >> We're taking your car. You're not getting it back. You're losing your license. You're not driving if you get another car. No. >> I find out you do this again. You're this close to doing >> Of course not. Of course not. >> You're saying of course not, but look at your actions. It just happened. >> No, but >> 100% 110% you were going to jail if you hit this case. >> I'm not disagreeing with you. >> So, I'm trying to understand where you thought this was the right thing to do. Tell me your emotions took over. >> So, should I put you in for a reevaluation of your driver's license now? >> I'm not trying to disagree with you. >> You're trying to make what you did sound correct? >> No, I'm not trying to sound correct. >> I'm telling you why I did it. I'm not saying it's right. >> I'm just trying to No, I'm not trying to excuse it. I'm trying to explain even though it was wrong why I did it. I didn't just like come out and say, "Oh, here let me go, you know, chase." Wait, >> maybe not. >> No, not maybe not. You were not thinking. >> Okay, >> I'm leaning into you right now cuz you could have killed multiple people on this side. It's dark. You're focused on this one kid riding a bike. >> You don't see anyone else on this sidewalk. >> Somebody would have called me and said, "You almost hit them with the car. I'm taking a jam." If this kid calls us back, >> deputies explain the teen was likely terrified, highlighting the psychological impact of being chased by a multi-tonon vehicle. >> After he goes home and talks to his parents, I know where you're at. We're probably taking you to jail. It's aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Your car is considered a deadly weapon. >> Touch him. >> Doesn't matter. Aggravated assault. Assault is not a physical contact. It's the threat of contact. >> Okay. >> Should I take you to jail now? >> No. >> Why not? I'm agreeing with you because it's not going to happen again. It was a stupid thing. I agree. >> This preached all over I don't know if you're on social media, but our sheriff puts out do not engage in road rage in this reason. He doesn't know what you're about to do. So yeah, he's not going to stop. He's going to run away from you. >> So he again, if he calls us and his parents get in touch with us, >> I hear you. >> I don't think He went away from me in here because he was afraid of me. >> I 100% believe he was afraid of me. >> A 3 4,000lb vehicle is now chasing him. What do you think was going through his head? >> Well, the first time I came this way, he was coming up, you know, cuz I came around this way and I was like, you know, stop. I want to talk to you. >> No, he's not going to stop >> cuz he didn't want to be in trouble. Now, after that, who knows? I don't believe he's scared of me. I do not believe that. I think >> the teen and his father describe how close the car came to hitting him, reinforcing how easily the situation could have ended in serious injury or death. >> Any other video evidence other than what you provided with Deputy Butler yesterday, just what she took. >> When she cut me off, Yeah. I swerved onto the tree and I waved someone. I'm like, "Hey, she just tried to hit me. Help me." >> And then the other car. >> Yeah. Um there was another guy, but he just hit All right. So, let me ask you, when she almost hit you, was she turning onto a street or >> just when she entered the bike path, right? >> No, she was already on the bike path. >> She was already on it and she went up. >> Yeah, she went onto a like on the grass section where there's enough room for a car to come by. She overtook me, cut me off, and that's when I got really really scared because I literally could have died. She was really close to me. rode his bike since. >> Later, the officer came to her house to confirm all the information. >> Oh, you might need to just step out. >> Are you arresting me? >> Well, I'm not saying that. We just have to talk. Okay. I have to redo your rights before I question you, okay? Cuz I'm going to ask you incriminating questions with these rights. Are you willing to talk to me? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, when you were following him, did you ever get close to him? >> I don't think so. No, I couldn't catch up with him. >> So, you were trying to catch up to him >> enough that I could talk to him. Yeah. I could tell him what I was. >> So, if he's speeding away and you're continuing to follow him? Why would you just Why would you keep on following? I I just >> That was stupid. >> So, when you were on the sidewalk, did you ever like jump in front of him? Nothing. Nothing like that. You didn't try to get in front of him before you started following him. >> Yeah. Before I started following >> or before you went on the sidewalk cuz that's the story I got that right before you hopped on the sidewalk or maybe as soon as it happened you kind of like try to cut him off. >> I tried to come around. I didn't try to cut him off. >> So you try to go around him. You're saying? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And what was your goal to going around him? >> Okay. How fast were you going >> when you were as fast as he was? I don't know. >> Okay. So you were trying to catch up to him even though he was going pretty fast on a sidewalk with a bike. Okay. >> Okay. >> You understand where we're coming from here? >> I do. I do. >> Cuz it's it's ridiculous. I'm going to be honest with you. >> I I I feel that way, too. My Cuz >> I can't disagree with you. It is ridiculous. >> Mhm. So, based on what we have now, I'm going to be making an arrest on aggravated assault and the reckless driving, too. Um, based on everything that I have. Okay. >> So, I'm going to need you to turn around for me. >> I got it. >> And we'll do that. We'll do we'll do all that after >> we'll do all that after this is my >> We can we can go in the door for you. Yep. That's fine. I'll give you that respect. >> And then I'll turn the AC on. >> Thank you, Gil. >> She is being arrested for aggravated assault and reckless driving. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon vehicle. Reckless driving. Remember, taking the law into your own hands, especially with a vehicle, can instantly turn anger into a felony. A car used aggressively is treated as a deadly weapon, regardless of intent. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Chasing a kid with a car over a bike is absolutely insane. No excuse for that. She kept saying she just wanted to talk, but that kid was running for his life. This is exactly why road rage laws exist. Someone could have died. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officers rush in comment if you felt that spike. The next incident is when police rush in to stop woman attacking kids at the park playground. >> Yeah. On May 7th, 2023, officers stop a vehicle after Walmart reports suspected skip scanning. The mother pleads with police not to arrest her in front of her young daughter, saying this is the second time the child has witnessed it. >> She's sleeping cuz she's sick. >> Okay. >> I love you. >> There ma'am. >> I didn't take anything, man. I got my receipt. >> You got the receipt? this. >> You don't have to call my mom, man. >> I mean, there is a >> turn around. >> Man, can you please not do this in front of my daughter? The woman claims she paid for most items and insists her receipt is in her bag or wallet, while officers explain Walmart reported her passing points of sale with unpaid items. >> Where's it at? >> This one on the floor down there, ma'am. >> Yeah. Just put your hands behind your back like you're praying. >> Is this her? >> All her stuff. Her lighter. Her cigarettes. >> Yeah. My receipt's in my bag. [ __ ] >> They said you did. >> Unfortunately, you got the warrant though, too. >> I know. What kind of theft did they advise it was? >> She just advised that she walked past items. I can call her back. >> She explains she used wick benefits for milk and bananas, left them at the register due to long lines and denies intentionally stealing anything. >> No, I had got >> I had bought some stuff. My receipt's in my bag, right? And then I had wick but my put my milk down and just walked out with the rest of my stuff >> and my receipt. >> Is that your bag? Yeah, my receipt's right there in the bag. Everything I bought is what >> is it? That bag right here. >> Yeah, some of them are mine and this is mine. And this is her and her pod back. >> Where's she looking? Where's the receipt at? >> Actually, you know what, Bush? It's right there in my inside of my wallet on the inside like here. I'll show you real quick. I'm not going there. >> Yeah. >> Right there. >> Yeah. I don't got nothing. >> What? I think she shot with Did they? >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. I wasn't with her at the check. >> Emotional phone calls follow as she arranges for family members to take custody of her daughter, repeatedly stating she didn't steal and that the arrest is due to her warrant. >> It's all right, baby. Yeah. >> My daughter kissed real quick. >> She's scared, dude. >> I love you, baby. [snorts] >> I'm sorry. >> I told you, Bush. I didn't take >> I'm trying to get in contact with her. She also does have a Henry at the top of your agency for stuff from Walmart. >> I mean, this stuff >> good from what it says, >> right? I mean, that's all her stuff. I have >> I know. We're trying to call them and see exactly what they >> cuz I bought that stuff and then I went I had >> whit. >> I just set it to the side and came out. I didn't even get it. >> You're good. >> Is she home? >> Yeah. >> I'm going to jail. >> You want? >> The baby's with Jara. I'm going to have Jared take her home to my mom. >> Is that what you said? because they said I stole something from Walmart when I went to get supper, but the cop just took my receipt and seen I didn't take anything but because of my warrant. >> Officers verify receipts and separate purchased items from unpaid merchandise while the woman admits she left without completing checkout. >> Sucks the way it >> Yeah, they just checked my receipt. Dude, I didn't take anything but because of my warrant and the baby's right here with Jara, my mom's not picking up the phone, man. Just have J have Jed come get her. Man, >> I'll take her home. >> Or let Jarro take Let Jarro uh take her to the house. I'm gonna have Jared take her home. >> What? >> I got to go, man. >> You using again? >> Yeah. I relapsed about a year ago. >> I can Look at your arms. >> I lost my best friend down here. cousin. I don't live here. >> EOD didn't die. >> Try your mom again. >> Baby, dude. You know what I'm saying? Sucks. You know me my whole life. You know, >> can I Yeah. Can I smoke a cigarette before I go, man? >> My mom's going to try cuz I've been taking >> She'sing Pepsi, bananas, and milk. Everything. >> Walmart staff claim a case of Pepsi was not paid for. The woman [snorts] argues she would never steal something so obvious and says it was a misunderstanding. >> Bananas and milk paid for. >> I put the bananas and milk dude on the thing and came out. I didn't even get it. Bush >> and the Pepsi. I bought that. I have another receipt. It should be in my thing. >> Bananas, milk, and >> I don't know. >> No, I know you paid for. >> I paid for everything, man. And my bananas and my milk was on my wick and my wick card and I set it right there and took off out the door because I didn't >> Gotcha. Was there anything else that you left? >> No, I didn't want to wait in line, man. Because there was like six people ahead of me and I just had that. You know what I'm saying? So I didn't let you sit there. >> You know what I'm saying? You're good, man. I ain't going nowhere. >> You can cover her up front. >> I promise I ain't running, man. I ain't going nowhere. I ain't trying to make this worse. >> Just have her sit with the door open. You can cover up front. And then uh >> I everything I got I paid for, man. And then my milk and my bananas. I set it at the register I was standing at. I didn't [snorts] even take anything. >> 703 and 698. We'll be back in. >> Right. Before I walked out, she's like, "I need the receipt." I said, "Yeah, right here's the receipt of what I paid for." Police continue verifying transactions, confirming some items were paid for while others were not properly scanned or purchased. >> She said, >> "We're all set." >> She said I had to go to the regular register to pay for my wig cuz it was milk and bananas and I get wig for my daughter. So I was like, "All right." And then I went and there was like six people ahead of me. So I just left it at the thing and I just grabbed my scoop and left, man. >> So you bought that stuff like prior? >> Yeah. And then I went to the selfch checkout and bought that. And then I had didn't know I couldn't use my wig at the selfch checkckout, man. So I grabbed my wig and she was like, "I had to go wait in line." So I was like, "Okay, that's fine." And I went and waited in line. There was like six people ahead of me. I'm like, "Man, I'm not trying to win. I got to go home and cook, you know, and I'm not going to steal my daughter with me, man." >> No, I understand. >> I'm already in enough, dude. >> Yeah. No, he's calling. He'll sort it out here. >> I mean, you know, this is traumatizing enough to my daughter. This is the second time she's seen me get locked up. the first time she was 2 months old. Dude, by the time I got out, my daughter didn't even know who I was. But I got a 8-year-old son that's about to turn nine next week. I mean, I've been battling with addiction entire life. Still a 179. >> Where'd you put the bananas and milk? They said >> register that I was at it. I just said it on top of >> They said she said that uh she said the bananas and milk at the register. They said you stole the Pepsi, though. >> No, I paid for that. I got another receipt in my It's in my wallet. I threw it, dude. Honestly. And man, if I'm going to steal something, dude, I'm not going to steal no damn house. You know what I'm saying? >> Walmart requests a theft report while officers note her existing warrants make arrest unavoidable regardless of the disputed items. >> This is >> Yeah. >> Am I free to go take her? >> Hold on. Let me >> I'm trying not to smoke in the car. >> I got you. Walmart. That's garlic salt. >> Here's a receipt. Look, >> that's the one I just looked at. Did you buy anything, Jar? I have the Pepsi, but the bananas and milk are not here. >> She did not pay for the Pepsi cuz she's claiming she did. >> Oh, all right. I didn't see that. Or >> Okay. >> Oh, it's a case of Pepsi. I thought it was just a little Pepsi. Like a single can. I was like, I'm going to steal no case of Pepsi. >> Yeah. >> Come on, man. I got bigger fish to fry right now. >> I don't see it on here. >> Well, I can't. It might not have scanned, but they got to double check. >> All right, let me grab I got the I mean, she has warrants anyways for some other theft from you guys. So, I'll grab I got the Pepsi here. Um, and yeah, if you guys could just drop off the report, I guess, for the theft of the Pepsi, if that's what you guys want to do. Okay. Yeah. To see exactly what happened. Okay. All right. Perfect. Sounds good. We'll give you a call here shortly once we figure out what we're doing with her cuz she's got her kid with her, too. So, >> we'll give you a call, though. >> Thank you for being cool with me. >> Uh-huh. You're being cool with us. >> I appreciate that. >> Is that good? >> I'm going to jail. Huh? >> Yeah. >> For now, I'm just going to go back to your fingerprints. um take a picture and then um for right now it's just the um just the warrant. Um Bush is going to talk to Walmart right now. >> Um I don't know. We'll get a copy of that and I'll let you know. >> All right, let's go. >> Are those my charges? >> Yeah, it's just theft theft time. Two thefts >> from when? Um May 3rd [snorts] and May 4th. And then you have a a warrant through the county. >> Through the county? >> Yep. Hands back. >> What do you mean through here or? >> Yeah, through Sunduski County. >> For what? >> I have no idea. Their warrant has a no bond on it though. >> Is it through here or is it through Clyde? >> Sunduski County isn't Clyde. >> I have a warrant here for it. >> But I don't know what Sunduski County's warrant is. Um I do. You also have a warrant through us. [snorts] It must be for theft, but I don't know. >> I know I have a warrant for you guys through theft, but I don't know what the other warrant would be for. >> The woman is taken into custody on theft charges and outstanding warrants while arrangements are finalized to ensure her child is safely picked up by family. Arrest based on unresolved warrants and Walmart's theft report. Item dispute documented, but secondary to warrant enforcement. Every member skip scanning or walking away from unpaid items, even unintentionally, can quickly escalate into criminal charges. Outstanding warrants remove discretion. Even minor incidents can result in immediate arrest. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Feel bad for the kid, but leaving the store without paying is never going to end well. Warrants change everything. Once those pop up, there's no talking your way out. Sad situation, but accountability matters, especially with children involved. What do you think about these situations? All right. >> Family members arrive and officers speak with them to understand the household dynamics and recent arguments at home. >> I don't want to go by his door >> here. I'm right here. Look left and we'll go this way. >> My screen is hurt. >> Okay. It don't matter either. >> Do you just have these lighters on you? >> I wasn't even driving right here on this street. Who the did that? >> We're about to find out. Huh? >> What though? >> Okay. Yeah. >> Noing said like on the other seat right there. Yeah, it's a foot of Mijana. >> Can Can you guys give us one second? We don't We don't need more people in the scene. >> I'm her mom. I'm I'm the grandma. >> Okay, we're going to figure it out. Just can you give us one second? We got a lot of families showing up. Can you guys just give us two seconds, please? >> Two seconds. >> So, I need to talk to the kids real quick. The oldest real quick and then I'll get the get them out of here. >> Where's the three oldest? You You guys, right? Okay. I got to ask you guys some quick questions. Okay. >> So, real quick, was mom arguing with dad this morning or no? >> Yes. >> Okay. Where was that at? >> In the house. In my room. So, it's your car. >> Yeah. And then I use my own car. >> So, what she told me um was able to gather um her boyfriend were fighting. >> She went to take the kids to the school stop. I said, "Okay, what were you driving?" She said, "My occasion." I said, "Okay, is it this vehicle right here?" >> She said, "Yeah, that's my car." I said, "Okay, so you left home, brought kids to bus station." Sorry. >> Oh, you're good. And then then what happened? And then she said, "Then I was on my way home." And I was like, "Okay, how did you end up here?" And she was like I was like, "Who lives here?" And she's like, "Yeah." And I said, "Okay, well, what were you doing here?" And she couldn't answer me, but she I mean she told me she was driving. >> She told she admits drug. >> Okay, fair enough. So, I do want to make sure her statement was she got an argument with her boyfriend. She went to go pick up kids from bus stop. >> She went to go drop them off. >> Went to go drop them off. But the kids are still in the car. She goes back home towards the cold one. Yeah. >> I don't know. Is this >> No, I don't know. >> Is this for her? >> Sir, don't don't talk to her. >> Okay. >> I'm looking for you. Are you uh what's your last? >> Yeah, I was looking for you. I didn't know you were the family. >> Got the uh insurance real quick. Yeah. Is that good? >> That's fine. I'll just talk to you separately. I just don't want you talking to her. She's alleging a domestic situation and you're talking to my victim. It's not good. >> Okay. I was making She's my wife. I didn't know that. I didn't know. >> Additional statements reveal alcohol use earlier in the day and ongoing family conflict raising serious safety concerns for the children. >> Disabled and he has seizures. >> Okay. >> And he >> I just don't want him talking to my potential victim. >> But please I'm just letting you know so that you know how to treat the situation. >> Treat him different. >> Not treat him different but not cause him to have a seizure. >> Okay. And she's known to be abusive as well. Yeah. >> Very. >> But she's But he's your son. >> He's my son. >> So you're directly linked to him, not her. >> And her, too. She I take care of her. >> Okay. Well, where my guy is? He just took off. >> He's getting you the insurance. >> Okay. >> Well, I sent a cop looking for him. I didn't know he was going to show up on scene. I didn't know he knew that his lady. >> He was asleep. I called him. No. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. Um, can you tell me I guess like prior to any of this what happened? She's just been doing this uh crying got me over everything and I couldn't even leave the house. Couldn't do anything cuz she's been doing this >> and uh putting her hands on my friend earlier when he was over there. >> When you say earlier, was it like It's 9 It's almost 10 now. So, it >> was like 6 5 6. Yeah, this morning. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And I told her to don't put your hands on him. You know what I mean? Like >> Right. So, how long were all of you guys drinking at the house or was it what was going on? >> Me and him were when she left this morning to take the kids to school. She uh slammed some alcohol. That's Yeah. So, my dad was saying that before she walked out the house, she grabbed some alcohol and slammed the whole bottle. I didn't even know I was done. I took my friend home. So, >> Okay. So, you weren't even at the house. >> Nuh-uh. >> And I got a call being blamed for all this. So, I'm like, "This woman's grown. Like, why she doing what she's doing? Like, what the hell? I didn't force her to do nothing. I'm I'm not doing what she does to me, pinning her down, not letting her leave the house. >> I don't do that." She >> So, you just know that she was there when you left the house. You went and took a friend home and then she would she had left. >> I was I'm I'm in bed and then I get a call and she's >> Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. I just have a question. This has been going on since >> 7 in the morning. My question is they both put hands on each other. >> Shouldn't he be going to jail, too? >> Were you getting that? They both put hands on each other. >> He grabbed her by the throat and threw her. >> You witnessed this, too? >> I didn't witness it. One of my grandkids did. >> When they when they came up, she told me that he hit her. And the kids also said that >> I'm going to get I'm going to talk to her myself, but she's kind of >> She's not She's out of it, right? She's not going to be able to answer you the way she >> I got to ask her. She's the victim. I have to at least give her a chance to tell me something. >> Okay. >> Um it's just if that was the case, >> the only thing that was kind of question that was kind of odd to me is that if it happened at 7:00 and it's 10:00 now, she left and then decided to go back towards the house. >> No, she didn't leave. >> The car is earlier. This happened, right? This happened since 7. >> She back to the house. >> She didn't leave at 7 in the morning. The mother admits to substance use. Officers determined the children were placed at significant risk. >> The decision to drive drunk to go back towards her house cuz she wasn't back to her house with her five kids in the car to crash. >> That's the problem I'm having. >> Right. And I >> That's why we're going to ask them both about the domestic situation. Yes. >> But >> I'm going to be honest with you. >> It might be irrelevant if she just >> I'm going to be honest. >> She could have broke her kids arms. She could have smashed his head. >> Yeah, I get it. I understand. But all I'm saying is I'm going to be honest with you. He's not going to tell you the truth. The mom's not going to tell you the truth. >> People lie to us all the time. >> The last time they called that you guys were called over there, >> they were both lying. So, I'm just letting you know that I'm I'm not cool with it. I mean, if I get it, she needs to pay for I mean, she has >> I'm not cool with it either. I don't condone of it, but I have to have to hear it from one of their mouth. I have to I can't just >> We try not to put kids on the stand against mommy and daddy. We try not to. We really really try not to. It's wrong. It's unethical. moral usually. Hey, mom hit dad and they have to get on the stand in front of 12 13 people and it just it just don't sound it don't look sometimes kids get pressured. They get >> and especially as it goes to court it gets more longer and yeah we try not to include kids at all. >> Yeah. >> Is it okay if I go? >> Yeah, you're good. >> Yeah. Okay. >> But however you can get out but >> can we leave? Yes, >> Victoria. >> Victoria, let me talk to you. Let me talk to you. Let me talk to you. >> I will stop. But I just need to really be I cannot be like test my baby [ __ ] >> Can I talk to you, Victoria, please? Okay, let me talk to you real quick. Okay, Victoria, how much have you had to drink today? What did you use? >> Seriously, >> I don't even know what the I was given. >> Okay, what do you think you were given? >> I don't know. I felt like I was betrayed in half of my day. Like I don't know. >> Victoria, what did you drink today? >> I knew I had the importers. >> The importers. What flavor? >> It was regularly. >> Regular. Okay. What did Did you have any shots or anything? Did you have any beers? >> I was just like I was just chilling. All I saw was my friendly importers. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink? How many employers, >> Dennis? I didn't even have like many employers. >> What the? You control the door. That's about >> Look, I'm asking you a serious question, Mora. How much have you had to drink today? >> You were drinking early this morning, right? >> Me today without my kids. >> Okay. How much >> with my kids? With the ever like >> how much? One, two, three, four, five. Yes. I just remember me drinking a drink. >> That's what I remember. >> Was it an importer or was it a shot >> or a mixture? >> Was it mixed? >> Oh, it was I was the person that everybody was mad at at that moment. >> Okay. Okay. But did you you didn't use any coke or mask or shrooms or anything today? >> I honestly I did do a little bit of coke. A little bit of coke. Police arrest the mother. The children are removed from her care and placed with a family while authorities step in. >> Did you snorted him? >> I snorted it. >> Can you tell me what happened with when you guys were arguing this morning? >> Victoria, >> he was holding me. Telling me, please just >> What time was >> he calm down? Literally like before I left the house. He had one arm under me and he had one arm over me. Like he's sitting here telling me that I'm [ __ ] holding down. He's holding me down. Like I'm the one. I'm not. >> All right. Let me I'm going to place you in cuffs real quick. Take a seat. I hate going to jail. Like >> literally, this is the first time I'm going to jail. My kids don't have nobody. >> Like they >> One second. I'm going buckle her up and talk. >> We're leaving. I'm going to get you go pee right now. Let me Let me >> Please. Oh my god. I'M ABOUT TO PISS all your >> Don't do it. Please. >> No. Please. >> Okay, we're leaving. We're leaving. We're leaving. Don't be peeing. Can I pee out the window? And you not realizing you just let him. >> No. >> If you pee, you're going to be wearing your pee for the whole time. >> The windows open. >> The incident concluded with the children removed from the mother's custody. The mother arrested and charged with DUI and child endangerment and child protective services, initiating an investigation to determine the children's long-term safety and placement. Remember, driving while impaired puts innocent lives at risk, especially when children depend entirely on adults for safety. Personal conflict and poor decisions can quickly escalate into irreversible consequences for a family. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Five kids could have lost everything because one adult refused to make responsible choices. This is terrifying. Children shouldn't have to rely on luck to survive adult mistakes. Situations like this show why intervention sometimes comes just in time. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. >> We have in total we have eight kids. I guess yesterday we must have been super tired. Right. >> Okay. >> She's peed through the seat so you can document so you can see how what what >> on June 30th, 2024, police are dispatched after reports of a toddler abandoned inside a vehicle overnight. Officers learned the family has eight children total and one child was forgotten in the car after everyone else was taken inside. >> Knock on this the house and see. >> Good morning. Do you know whose vehicle this is parked outside your house? >> N. Is there any other families that stay here? >> No. Okay. >> Or maybe >> All right. We're trying to There's a little girl in that vehicle. We're trying to figure out who >> she belongs to. So, no idea. >> All right. Thank you. >> I can go over there. He's just whole family's anti police. >> What? >> Family's anti police. >> Oh, well, they're >> 100%. >> Police canvas nearby homes trying to identify the vehicle's owner. Neighbors report the family is known in the area and that DCFS has been involved before raising immediate child welfare concerns. >> Taking this child today, >> sorry, but DCFS >> has been involved. >> She's probably been out here for a while. >> They're what? >> Could you imagine if they somebody didn't see this? This car is going to heat up. >> Are you okay? >> You want to stick her? >> Yeah. >> Bet you all the windows are up, too. >> But they're all up >> and the kids went out there. >> That's why I went to for myself. >> I'm sorry. My cell phone's in Oh, yeah. >> I want to see how long they've been here. >> I'm sure there's a ring candle somewhere around there. >> Yep. There's a ring. >> Officers contact the child's grandmother, who confirms the parents live nearby and were at Six Flags the previous day. She cannot provide a clear address, increasing concern about supervision and stability. >> Across the street. >> Yes. Hi. Are you level? Yeah. Okay. Tell him to go with it. Okay. Okay. Yeah. DCFS. Okay. Who's that name? >> Uh, mother >> one woman >> out of Wisconsin. >> So they live in that area over there. >> Okay. Do we know where? >> She said north to Msina. >> What's that? >> She said around North Mina. She doesn't have the address but she said last she knew of them was there like yesterday. >> So it's in the area. You good here? I'm going to head back to Shepherd in case they come outside. >> Yeah. No. Go ahead. >> Yeah. >> I'm We're going to take the kid to the station. >> Yeah. I'm going to Well, it's Shepherd's call. I try to jump all I mean I get really pissed off. >> Well, 100%. Especially cuz I know them and they don't care about the kids too much. Officers review surveillance footage and confirm the child was left in the car from around midnight until morning. The toddler shows clear signs of prolonged distress, dehydration, and neglect. >> Not at the house. She lives in this area though. The her mother was there and says she lives in it near North Msina unknown. Cardian is trying to figure it out. So I came back here in case they come outside. >> What about dad? >> They both of them live here. >> Okay. >> They live I suppose both of them live here. They're at Six Flags yesterday. And that's the last that the that >> so I assume that Joshua which is the brother out wandering around cuz the DCFS records show her 2019 and her brother a little bit older 2017 >> the address way up there. >> Well, we already checked. So the address that all that I found DCFS paperwork in there comes to mom's or grandmother's house up here. She says that her daughter lives somewhere in this area north of Msina, but she's not entirely certain where. >> I already checked this house. She has no idea who >> I'm guessing it's this apartment complex. >> Yeah. >> And what's her name supposed to be? Does the kid speak? No. >> If she does, I think it's Spanish only. >> She's What is this? Five. >> One when you're ready to make contact. >> Yeah. >> We have everything we need. >> This truck light here. >> Mhm. There's a man live here. >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Police. >> Police. >> Sounded like something from inside. I don't know if it was the upper level or the lower. >> They've got They got He found mail >> with her name. >> No, I know. I'm just looking. I'm >> After repeated knocking, the child's father, Sylvester Flores, comes outside. He admits the family arrived home around 11:20 p.m. and claims neither parent noticed the child was still in the vehicle. the camera and see how long she's been out here cuz grandma was like last I knew we were at six flags yesterday after dinner last night. >> Jesus Christ. So and knowing then um is grandma going to come for her? I told her she she's good to come. However, that's what they want to do. They want to take customs. >> The mom will the grandma will come. >> Okay. >> So she's >> child fully buckled in. >> Yes. There's no way she could have got out. >> Hey, come outside. >> What? What's your name? >> Sylvester. >> Sylvester, >> what? How long you been here? >> How long have I been living here? >> No. How long What time What time did you get homeless? >> Both parents explain they were exhausted after transporting all eight children and mistakenly assumed everyone was inside. Officers challenged their account, emphasizing that the child was fully buckled and could not escape. Yeah, >> I I got home last night like around I'd say like around 11 >> 11:00 at night and you haven't left this house since then, right? >> At all. >> When's the last time you drove your Yukon? >> It's not a Yukon >> or whatever it is. Mom's coming. >> We already tipped him off. I was trying to figure out, but he said he got here at 11:00. >> What's your daughter's name? You want to question her some more? >> Yeah. I mean, I just want to know who's driving >> before we do before we do the Wisconsin thing. Question her >> cuz it's going to depend on who's driving cuz it might be both going or it might be just >> both. You guys, we're just probably exhausted from yesterday, right? Six Flags Six Flags. Probably exhausted. Yeah. Where is it? >> She's probably sleeping. You guys practice. >> So, can we just kind of ask like, you know, if they remember like what anything about this or did they use the vehicle since this morning? 11:00 last night was the last time they used the vehicle. >> Last night, right? >> Yeah. Well, like you went to the gym. >> He was driving. >> Like, no point lying, bro. >> We got We got here. >> Huh? We got kids >> at this point. It's just your honesty is what's going to help you. >> Your honesty is gonna go a long way with everything and how this goes. >> Just when you guys got home last night, I just forgot she was sleeping. You guys have You have more kids, right? >> We have eight. We have in total. >> The mother, Nile Menddees, admits prior DCFS involvement, but insists this has never happened before. Officers document the child's condition, soaked diaper wet seat mucus from crying and extreme distress. We have eight kids and everybody like we had just had we got home like around almost 12:00 from Six Flags cuz we still passed by and got some food. We got everybody off but I mean everybody just started getting I got off first and I got some of the kids off and he got off and he got some of the kids off. So usually we like we work as a team but I mean I guess yesterday we must have been super tired but Okay. At this point is what is the best thing is that she's good, right? >> No. >> The other eight kids in that apartment. I kind of think we should just take her and screen it. Her take both cuz if we take both, we got to >> You're right. We got to take care of She's 99 and she's coming with us. But that's how they were transported. They all came You guys got here and and just end up leaving one in the car. Correct. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. >> We have pictures and videos of all night um being there. And um I also like when we stopped by to get some tacos, I also recorded that like you know like at the time that you know we did stop at. >> Okay. This isn't pertinent, but I'm just asking were you guys drinking at all? I'm just trying I'm just trying to figure out why you guys would have left it. No, no, no, no. We were not drinking. >> We do drink, but yesterday we were not drinking at all. >> We just dedicated our whole day to the kids from the morning to the like to the night time. >> We have people that were with us, too, at the flags. >> Okay. All right. Then what I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you step out real quick just to confirm that this is in fact your daughter. I'm going to turn custody over to him. >> So, you're good to come over just to want to make sure that this is in fact your child. Okay. Well, we're going to leave the child where she is right now. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> She's okay. >> She's okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Do me a favor. Put back on the grass, please. Okay. Go back. Yeah. Just stand right here for right now. >> Both parents are arrested for child endangerment. Officers stress that arrest does not guarantee conviction, but the circumstances require formal investigation. >> Got a grandma's got her parents, eight kids. >> So, like I said, while he's gone, cuz I'm pretty sure we fought off all the information we can. >> Oh, she's 28. So, she ties my record. This one girl had eight kids at the Oaks at 28. Seven different dads, though. >> You want to get Does grandma know all the kids? >> She just stopped there. >> Okay. So we could probably just hook him and then grandma. >> All right. So we're going to owe one both of them. >> Okay. >> And grandma's going to take custody. >> He's gonna take him first. >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> Uh let's actually get two people. We get two more. >> They're going to take both of them to the station. >> Okay. >> We're 11:01 and both. >> Okay. >> We will take the dude. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Right. All right. Under arrest. Okay. >> Just relax. >> Wait. Why are you under arrest? Why? What did I do? >> We just want to know why. >> We're going to talk. >> Hey, make sure to get him get him some shoes and stuff. Okay. Shoes and a shirt. >> Okay. So, you you know you're being at risk for uh child neglect right now. Doesn't mean you're going to be charged with it. M state's attorney will let us know. Okay. >> It happens. But you know, unfortunately, it is what it is. Okay. Come on. >> Appreciate your cooperations, >> man. >> I'm going to get you shoes and a shirt. Okay. >> All right. And you can let them know you're 111 with a female and to confirm. >> Do you have anything hidden on you at all? Okay. We're going to be bringing both parents down >> and all eight children turned over to the grandmother. >> Document that she's fully buckled in. >> Paramedics evaluate the toddler to ensure she is medically stable. All eight children are released to the grandmother as DCFS begins a full investigation into the family. >> Fully buckled in, snot on her face from crying all night. >> Yep. I got I got a video. Dude, that is awful, bro. >> Do I get this? >> This bothers me a lot. >> Mhm. Literally, you do your body cam video. I took my body cam, put it in there. >> She's fully buckled in. She has snot on her face and you know, you can tell she's been crying for a while. >> Um, so just document that. >> What's that? >> Her diaper's completely soiled. She's saw she's pee through the seat. >> Yep. >> How do you give kids back to these type of people, dude? >> Oh, man. There was a case before that DCFS gave all eight kids back to this one lady. >> DCFS took four at one time. >> She's literally in >> Yeah, I'll take I'll take it. >> You have a shirt for him. >> Okay. >> This is for her. >> That's her. >> Yeah. This >> Who's the main on this? >> Uh Shepherd. >> The chef. So her underwear I told you know her underwear is completely soiled. She's peed through the seat so you can document. So you can see how what what stage she's in. >> All wet seats all >> buckled in. It's not >> on my body. Okay. >> Yeah. He's supposed to just take all the kids away. Every one of them. >> Dude, how do you notice your four-year-old? Your baby. You should notice your baby. >> And and you know, you got to put her to bed. >> Like you know, at some point in the night you're like, "What? I'm forgetting to do something." >> I'm guessing they were not in the right state of mind. >> Yeah. Maybe maybe they were a little 56 >> and a halfish maybe. >> Thank god. I don't know how somebody saw. >> That's what I was thinking. I like >> you would had to be >> trying to break into the car >> cuz the windows are tinted, bro. You ain't seen anything. >> I woke up. When I walked up, I could barely see her. >> I don't even know how new this is. She probably like trying to get out like smear the window, say help, you know. >> Yeah. >> But she's doesn't even talk to four. >> Mm- >> Complete neglect with this child. >> The two parody. >> Yeah. Okay. They they just didn't give us much information. They just said to meet with you guys and just you guys were not here. So we >> She was just >> I gave him the details that she was left in the car overnight. That's all you guys did. >> Yeah. So they just want us at least make sure she's good to go. >> Okay. Our parents >> parents are with us. She's a sister. Grandma should be inside, right? >> Yep. >> Okay. Um both parents went with you guys. >> Yes. >> Okay. Are you taking custody? >> Grandma's taking custody right now. >> Grandma is? >> Yeah. She's in the restroom. >> Did she want her transported to the hospital? Well, if she's fine, then no. Um, I would say more so. Our concern is that she's she seems okay. I try to give her some water right now cuz I assume she might be dehydrated, but she doesn't want to. >> But that's just cuz she's picky. >> Yeah. Is she acting normal for herself? >> Yeah, she is. >> She seems normal for herself. >> All right. Well, we can check her out on the ambulance. Hi. Thanks, man. >> Yeah. That's all right. Thank you so much. >> Okay. I love you about it. >> Both parents were taken into custody and charged with class A misdemeanor child endangerment. All eight children were temporarily placed with their grandmother while DCFS conducts a full investigation. Remember, even a single lapse in awareness can place a child in serious danger, especially when routine turns into exhaustion. Caregivers are responsible for verifying every child's safety, no matter how hectic or tiring the situation feels. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. I can't understand how you forget a child overnight. This is heartbreaking and completely unacceptable. This could have ended so much worse. Thank goodness someone noticed and called for help. Kids depend on adults for everything. There's no excuse for this level of negligence. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam. and tell us if you would have done the same. >> You don't have the right summit to do. I have my own rights and this guy should be an [ __ ] to me. Really? Are you kidding me? >> Who's this gentleman that you're here with? >> He lives down here with and he lives like a block away from me. He lives away from me. He's not like he lives like a block away from me or whatever. I don't know what that means. She was. What happened to her face >> when she was climbing over me? I swung my hand back >> because she was kicking me in the face and hitting me. Yeah. >> While I was in traffic >> and she jumped on top of me, she had her hand around my neck and was pulling my head backwards. >> Officers attempt to assess the child's safety, but Amy becomes hostile and obstructive, refusing to let police speak to her daughter and repeatedly claiming officers are violating her rights. Wait, do I have a little busted lip? >> Yeah. Do you know how that happened? >> No. Do I have my lip? >> I did bust your lip on like a seat or something. >> I'm stupid now. You couldn't tell me why your face was bleeding. Your pupils are pinpoint, which is indicative. >> Here, I'm going to take my daughter and walk away. >> You're not free to leave. >> You don't have the right. I am free to leave cuz you know what? >> Sit. You're not free to leave. >> You don't have the right to do. You know, I will I will Hey, you want to see me call my lawyer? >> Sure. Sit. While you >> Police determine Amy is not in a mental or physical state to care for a child and begin arranging for a family member or child services to take custody. >> I call my lawyer. >> Sit while you call him. >> I'll post. >> Okay, that's awesome. >> Sit while you call him then. >> Why you looking at my question? Can we call a family member? >> Because we need somebody to come pick you and your daughter up. >> Why? >> Because you don't have a ride from here. >> I'm sir, what is the problem here? Amy denies intoxication, falsely claims she has cancer, refuses medical help, and becomes increasingly erratic, nearly falling while holding her daughter. >> I don't understand. >> Can I ask you about the problem? You should >> First off, listen. I don't know what you've I don't know if you what you've taken, what you drank, what you're intoxicated. Okay? >> I'm not I'm not intoxicated. >> Okay? >> We're not going to debate that fact. Okay? So, something happened, right? I don't think it's a wise idea to pick up your kid right now. The child will be placed until they can figure out what's going on with their case. >> According to police statements in the video, Amy, 35 years old, was charged with child neglect, disorderly intoxication battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. Amy was released from the hospital several hours later after sobering up. The case proceeded through the Florida court system with DCF determining future custody and supervision. Remember situations involving children require calm judgment and cooperation as safety decisions can escalate quickly when emotions take over. Refusing lawful instructions during welfare checks often leads to more serious consequences for everyone involved. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. The caregiver was charged with child neglect, disorderly intoxication, resisting law enforcement, and battery on an officer. The child was placed under temporary protective care, and the case proceeded through the appropriate legal and family services systems. As always, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life.
