So, um, I walked up to her and I hit
her.
>> You didn't grab anything at all when you
left her phone.
>> So, you didn't take her phone with you?
>> Yeah.
>> Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, Richmond
Heights, Missouri. That morning, a
firing at a jewelry store inside of a
mall gets handled like any other.
Security walks the employee to the
parking lot and everyone assumes that's
the end of it. Minutes later, that same
woman walks back through the door.
Nobody inside the store sees what's
coming. And by the time that it's over,
a manager is on the floor of the office
and a phone has gone missing. I'm Tyler
and this is your daily dose of crime. Be
sure that you're subscribed to the
channel because we bring you brand new
videos every single day at 3:00 p.m.
Eastern, noon Pacific. You won't want to
miss the next one.
The suspect is Scottiana Langford, age
25, assistant manager at the Pandora
store inside of the St. Louis Galleria
in Richmond Heights. The woman fired
that morning was not a stranger to her.
The manager, who was part of the
decision to end her employment,
identified as Rachel, worked on the very
same team. All
right. So, I'm Officer James.
I'm Officer James. Richmond Heights
Police Department. Okay.
>> For the record, can you state your name?
>> Can you state your date of birth?
All right. I'm going to read you some
Miranda rightites and then we will see
what you want to do.
All right. So before I ask you any
questions, you must understand what your
rights are. You do not have to make any
statement at this time and have the
right to remain silent.
You can say anything or anything you say
will be used against you in the court of
law. You are entitled to consult with an
attorney before the interview or any
interview and have them present at the
time of the interrogation. If you cannot
afford an attorney, one will be
appointed to you. Do you understand all
those? Do you wish to proceed with
talking
>> without an issue?
>> Yes.
>> That's fine.
>> That's fine. Okay. So, before we go any
further at all,
>> I would like for you to read over those
real quick and after you read each one
and you understand it, please initial
it.
No.
>> Now that we have all four of those
initial off and you wish to proceed, I
want you to read this thoroughly and
then sign right there, please.
>> If you wish to proceed without your
attorney present and you understand the
four rights you have just been afforded
and you wish to proceed after reading
this statement, please sign there.
Now that we have that out of the way,
>> can you tell me where you were yesterday
>> on the 9th?
>> Okay. What were you doing there?
>> Working.
>> Okay. Up until the point
of
when did you leave the mall? I left the
mall when she called security and a
police officer to explain.
>> The manager and Langford shared the same
story and the same daily routine inside
the store. That dayto-day closeness is
what turns the conflict between two
people who crossed paths every day in
that same place long before the August
afternoon.
>> Okay. Why were you escorted off? because
um I I sat down um they asked me to
leave and I didn't like agree with the
decision so I sat down and
>> by asking you to leave what do you mean
>> they they fired me
>> who's they
>> um
the general manager she was on the phone
>> okay
>> and Rachel was back there as well which
is the other person
>> okay and how did the conf how did the
conference transpire her.
>> Um,
>> how are you talking?
>> I just asked her. I listened to what she
said and she said insubordinated and I
was just listening to what she said and
then afterwards she said that my
position was terminated and um wasn't
really understanding that because I
literally do my job. Okay.
>> The only person that does my job. So, it
was kind of I was like really really
upset. But I I take like um a medicine
for anxiety. So honestly, I couldn't
really breathe at the point because I
was like confused, frustrated, mad,
angry, all at the same time. So I was
trying to control my breathing. Um, so I
sat down and then that's when I I said,
"So is there an explanation of why you
guys are letting me go?" She said,
"There's no explanation. Your position
is terminated."
>> Okay. So after you were terminated, was
that a phone call? How how were you
talking
>> on the phone?
>> Okay. So, after terminated you,
what did Rachel do?
>> Rachel
uh didn't do anything. She set her phone
down and she said I was about to go get
security. I said there's no need. I just
want an explanation. Like just like I'm
talking to you, com right now. This
exactly how I was talking to them. Okay.
>> But I was still like really really upset
cuz I just wanted like an explanation. I
really didn't understand like why I was
getting fired. But
>> okay. So after she went and got security
and the uniformed officer and they told
you to leave,
>> I left.
>> You left?
>> Yeah.
>> Did you come back?
>> Yes, I did. Well, I didn't leave. I just
put all my stuff in the car.
>> Okay. So, you went out to the parking
lot and then you came back. And when you
came back, what happened?
>> Langford's return to the store marks a
real break in the sequence. It separates
the firing from the confrontation which
follows and shows there was a gap in
between rather than one continuous
blowup. That distinction matters legally
because the robbery charge requires
being tied to taking the property and
not just anger over losing the job. 90%

great videos. It's completely free and
it genuinely helps the channel.
>> I love I just let my anger take control
of me and um I seen Rachel in on the
floor. So I I just walked to the store.
>> Like on the floor? What do you mean?
>> Like not in the back room. She was on
the floor like she was
>> standing in there.
>> Standing in the store. So um I walked up
to her and I hit her.
>> Okay. And then one time, 100 times?
>> No, I probably hit her like three times.
>> Okay. And did it stay all out on the
floor or?
>> No, she opened the door so it went in
the back room and I really didn't say
anything.
I just hit her.
>> Okay.
>> Because that was my reaction because
>> How many times do you say
>> like three times?
>> Okay. And then when you left, what
happened? I just walked out the mall.
>> You didn't grab anything?
>> I just walked out the mall.
>> Okay. You didn't grab anything at all
when you left
>> my phone.
>> Okay. So, you did take her phone with
you?
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
All right. And then where'd you go after
that?
>> I went home.
>> Okay.
Would you mind?
>> I actually went to Well, I didn't go
Well, I went home to change. Then I went
to go get my kids from school. Then we
went to a doctor's appointment that we
had. Then after that, I dropped my
daughters off at their dad's house and I
went to one of my daughters. I took my
5-year-old to a meeting um a meeting at
her school to get her to meet her
teacher cuz she starts kindergarten on
Monday.
>> All right. Um do you still have that
phone in your possession?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. Where is it at now?
>> It's in my car.
>> Okay.
Do you mind writing all that for me on a
statement?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. Awesome.
I have this page, a continuence page,
and another continuence page.
You can use that pen there from start to
finish what you just told me. If you
could go ahead and write that down and
then when you're done, please just knock
on this outside door over here. Okay.
Right here.
>> Okay.
>> Thank you.
All right. So, after our talk right
there
and you admitting to striking her and
taking the phone, I'm going to be
placing you under arrest right now for
assault second and felony stealing. So,
I need you to stand up and go ahead and
place your hands behind your back,
please.
>> Is your vehicle unlocked? And I also
have another one pending
>> currently for
>> I understand.
>> Is your vehicle currently unlocked?
>> The question at hand.
>> Is your vehicle unlocked?
>> It is.
>> No. Where are your keys at?
>> Okay. Are they right here?
>> I'm going to grab them
>> in your vehicle. Where is that phone
located? Taking her phone. I still have
it. So, how
>> you still stole the phone, ma'am?
>> But she's getting it back.
>> It doesn't matter. It's not up for
debate or conversation. Where is the
phone located at? Inside your vehicle?
>> I'm not sure. I think it's in the glove
department.
>> Okay. Are you sure? Glove compartment or
where at?
>> In the glove. No, in the armrest.
>> Okay. The whole thing will be video. I'm
not going to touch anything else inside
the vehicle. Your vehicle is currently
safe where it is at.
Let's go, man.
>> As long as
>> Is that the one that
>> Rachel ends up hospitalized with a
diagnosed concussion along with cuts and
bruises to the back of her head? Under
Missouri law, seconddegree robbery
requires forcibly stealing property and
in that same action causing physical
injury to another person.
>> Dad,
>> we good?
>> Yep.
>> All right.
>> This is her property right here.
>> Okay.
>> I'll bring the key down in a second. I'm
going to go to her vehicle and retrieve
the phone. She said it's in the vehicle.
>> Let's go ahead and take it with you.
Mhm.
>> We'll note it. Excuse me.
>> Yeah. I'm not that that's going to make
the report that you did give me the
phone bag prior to Yeah. You want take
her with you to the car.
Yeah,
they didn't
in school. But I have to
>> yesterday the robbery.
>> Oh, there's an assault second felony
stealing, but she peed like we're good.
All right, ma'am. You ready?
>> We are going to I'll bring this with
you. If you guys want to meet me in the
salt board, I'll just open the salt. The
truth.
>> I'll meet you down there.
>> This way.
Hey, hey, let me get an idea.
>> 7213. Can you copy one?
>> How you pronounce your first name?
>> Scott.
>> This will be off of Missouri driver's
license. First name Scott Tiana. Sam
Charles Ocean Tom Ida Adam Union Norah
Adam last name Langford Lincoln Adam
Norah George Frank Ocean Robert David
Missouri DL
for a black female
>> ma'am
this way right
The St. Louis County Prosecuting
Attorney's Office charged Lenford with a
single count of seconddegree robbery
classified as a class B felony under
Missouri law. Her bond would be set at
$150,000
and under the law in effect at the time.
A class B felony in Missouri carries a
range of 5 to 15 years in prison. Though
the same law also allows for a suspended
sentence with probation instead of
active time. More than 1,000 mi from
Richmond Heights, Missouri, another
vehicle ride becomes the center of a new
case. This time in Florida, what should
take only a few minutes will turn into a
scene with a gun pointed at the back
seat while one of the passengers records
every single second on her phone.
>> She only has one part, like the last
part, only like a few seconds of the
incident. And I I need that camera.
Driver, PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. DO IT NOW.
Turn the VEHICLE OFF. DO it now.
Step out of the vehicle facing away from
me. Do it now.
Face away from me with your hands up.
Take a step away from the vehicle to
your left.
Now walk backwards.
Backwards. Do not face me. Backwards.
Hands up. Hands up. Backwards.
All the way back. Keep moving. Keep
moving. Keep moving. Stop. All right. Go
ahead and get down on your knees.
All right. Lay all the way down. Lay all
the way down. Hands out. Cross your
feet. Stay like that.
All right, let's clear it. Let's move
up.
>> We're good.
You guys stab your army?
>> Yes.
>> You're Jennifer, right?
>> Yes, sir.
>> Okay. You understand you have a felony
warrant for your arrest?
>> Aggravated assault out of Miami?
>> I have the right information on it.
>> I'm just letting you know you have a
warrant. That's it. I'm not asking about
the case. What I have What do you have
on you that can poke my apartment? The
driver is Jennifer Bonitez, age 23,
working as an Uber driver on the night
of May 12th, 2025. The ride begins in
the Miami area, but the argument and the
moment with the gun takes place in
Hollywood, Florida, inside of Broward
County.
>> Inside what?
>> Inside. Inside pockets to my left suit.
>> You don't have to undo that. You can go
inside.
>> You going to tell me how I'm going to do
my job? how the rights remain signed.
>> Okay, you do. You do.
>> Do you smell like you have any on your
person?
>> You can tell me how the rights remain
signed.
>> Okay,
410 15 on the correct subject. She's the
only one in the vehicle.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. Thank you.
Put it on her face.
>> 54. Thank you.
>> Do you have any foggy pins in your hair?
>> No. All
right.
>> Let's uh hold on. These are all good to
go.
>> Oh, they got to be the lock.
>> All right. Go ahead and turn your hands
a little bit.
Just
All right. Is there any personal um
valuables in the vehicle that you'd like
to come with you? Like wallet, phone.
What What would you like?
>> Phone and purse. Is there anything like
crazy inside the purse? Let's narrow it
down from a purse. Like a wallet,
something simpler that's not so big.
>> You have a wallet inside, my phone, and
my keys.
>> Okay. All right. Have a seat.
I'm going to check these two things in
the car.
>> Yeah.
>> The key footage in the case comes from
Chrissy Ciss, a Miami rapper who was
riding as a passenger that night. By her
own account, she begins filming to
protect herself and her friend from
being blamed for something they say they
never did. The clip is only 33 seconds,
but it's enough to show that Bonitez
demanded they get out of the car while
she's on the phone with dispatch.
center console.
That was on her.
>> You don't need medical ambulance or
anything like that?
>> No.
>> All right. If you're all good, once we
get your car taken care of, we'll go
straight to the jail. Okay.
>> Excuse me. Were you able to grab
>> my things?
>> What was that, ma'am?
>> Excuse me. Were you able to grab my
things?
>> So, I have your phone. I have your ID,
>> but I can't take the whole purse cuz the
jail won't accept all that.
>> So, I can limit it down to a couple more
things if you want like a specific
credit card or something like that.
Are you able to get my computer
>> and my tablet?
>> Where's that at?
>> In my purse.
>> In the purse.
>> Like my electronics.
>> The driver's defense leans on Florida's
stand your ground law. The claim being
that she felt threatened inside of her
own vehicle and that's why she called
police that night.
>> Were you also able to get my keys?
Excuse me, sir. Excuse me, sir.
>> Will my uh dash cam be taken as
evidence?
>> Your dash cam?
>> And also uh will you all contact Uber
for the rest of the recording that they
have on their end?
>> For what? Because I when I was doing
Uber, they also were recording every
ride I was doing, including the one that
>> Does this reference the incident in
Miami?
>> The one I'm getting arrested currently.
>> So everything that you're claim that
happened down there, the reason you're
only part she only has one part like the
last part only like a few seconds of the
incident and I need that camera.
>> Is there an SD card on it?
>> Yes, I need that. Okay.
>> I I don't want to go missing because
then a lot of
>> Is the SD card inside the camera?
>> A lot of evidence will be gone.
>> Is the SD inside of the camera?
>> Yes.
>> So, I can take a whole camera and put an
evidence and it'll be fine.
>> Yes.
>> Okay.
>> Please.
>> Because I did tell her multiple times to
leave and she didn't after I ended the
ride.
>> And it's the only the camera that's up
on the dash, right? There's no other
cameras. Just that one. Well, other than
when Uber was recording me, I guess
someone would have to contact Uber when
I'm in
>> Is this it?
>> Yes, correct.
>> Other than Uber has
>> Oh, and the Well, the back camera. I
don't know if it's necessary.
>> Is that the camera that's on the trunk
right there?
>> I guess that that would be the main
camera because it's from the inside.
>> Well, we'll take the whole camera that
way if it if the SD card doesn't work in
anything else, they can use the camera,
>> right? Right.
>> Just in case.
>> Just in case.
Uh, excuse me. Was Was my keys also put
in there?
>> Do what?
>> My keys also put in there.
>> Your car?
>> My belongings? Yes.
>> The car keys got to go with the vehicle.
>> Okay.
>> It has to stay with it to company.
>> Oh, right. So, they can move it around.
>> Access the vehicle. Yes.
>> Right. Right.
>> Just remember Tri County, okay? That's
who's got the vehicle.
>> I'm sorry.
>> Remember Tri County. That's who has the
vehicle.
>> Tri County. How long do they keep it
there? They'll keep it till the register
owner picks the vehicle up. Nobody else
can pick the vehicle up. The register
owner register in your name, right?
>> So they keep it for how
>> it'll sit there until you pick it up.
>> Are you sure?
>> Yep.
>> Tri County.
>> Tri County.
>> Pretty sure.
>> Excuse me. So you were able to get all
my belongings?
>> Yeah, we secured everything.
>> Which includes what? Um, I have
>> just to verify
>> the wallet, which is the pouch. I have
your cellular devices that you wanted,
your laptop,
>> and then like all your money and your
cards.
>> Did you get the
>> pretty much everything?
>> Did you get the tablet and the phone as
well?
>> Yep.
>> I appreciate it, sir.
>> Oh, and and the dash cam for
>> Y, too.
The formal charge against Bonitez is a
single count, aggravated assault with a
deadly weapon, a thirdderee felony under
Florida law. At her initial bond
hearing, it was set at $7,500
with a no contact order and a ban on
carrying weapons. The court would later
agree to reduce it further and replaced
it with house arrest under electronic
monitoring. Under Florida law, a
thirdderee felony like this one caps out
at 5 years in prison without the 10-year
mandatory minimum. that applies to other
gun- rellated charges because that law
specifically excludes cases where the
weapon is already part of the definition
of the offense. More than 1100 miles
from Hollywood, Florida, the scene
shifts to a bank parking lot in
Illinois. An ATM and city surveillance
camera do not usually end up connected
to the same crime scene. But out here,
it only takes following the wrong person
out of a bank. That night will end with
three men from Texas, a rental car, and
a license plate that should never have
been on it.
>> Get out of the car now. I'm going to
tase you. Do not reach or anything.
>> What's going on? You guys are doing some
burglaries today.
>> Step out of the car. Step out OF THE
CAR. POLICE. GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT
OF THE CAR NOW. GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW.
I'M GOING TO TASE YOU. DO NOT REACH FOR
ANYTHING.
I ain't reaching for nothing. What the
[ __ ] I'm reaching for
>> Don't reach for anything. Reason
on the cart on the cart on the cart. On
the ground. On the cart. On the ground.
On the cart. On the ground. On the cart.
On the ground. On the ground.
Trunks clear.
>> All right, we'll roll you over.
>> Sit up on your butt. on your butt. Tuck
this knee in.
He's trying to get out when he can.
>> You know what? I think we got maybe
transport.
Yeah,
>> that place
run this thing up. One, two, three.
So, he was a backseat passenger.
That guy. Okay.
All right.
>> Where you at?
>> Let me take this guy.
>> The three men are Yaman Johnson, age 27,
from outside of Austin. Jree Houston,
age 24 from the city of Houston, and
Anthony McInnrush, also age 24 from
Dallas. Elmherst police would describe
this pattern as bank jugging, watching
someone withdraw cash, following them,
and then stealing it by smashing a car
window or outright robbing them.
>> Relax. Spread your feet.
>> All right, 50. We're good. Check the
back seat.
>> All right, 50. We're secure. Slow it
down. Two to two in custody. Wells
Fargo.
Good.
>> I don't have no weather, so let's go.
Don't Let's go.
>> Stay right here.
>> You're reaching for something. I don't
know what you're reaching for. Yeah, you
reach for the center. My phone. Okay.
Don't ever do that again. Yeah. You got
a lot of money is what you got.
I'm going to get an envelope out of my
car.
Okay. What's your name? What's your
name?
>> Anthony.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Where was that at?
>> Matt pocket from passenger passenger.
Uh, my phone. You got my phone, sir.
>> Where's it at, man?
>> Yes, sir.
>> Yes, sir.
>> You can search.
>> You can search for me right now.
>> No, it's good.
>> We got three
>> in a little bit. We have 3 hours to give
you a phone call, so it's going to be a
little bit. Okay.
>> That's his phone.
>> Do you mind doing a transport for us? Is
that okay to our PD? Thank you.
Is that
>> passenger?
>> That's my That's my phone. Black phone.
>> Yeah.
>> You got the black.
>> I got it.
>> Okay. We'll let you get your phone in a
little bit, but now's not the time.
Okay.
>> You got property on him or no?
>> Go ahead. 53.
Yeah, absolutely. We can do that. We'll
be at the Wells Fargo at 83 in St.
Charles.
>> What's your name, sir?
>> My name is
>> Jaman. Okay.
>> What's going on?
>> What's going on? You guys are doing some
burglaries today. You can't be breaking
into people's cars.
>> I wasn't.
>> Well, you were with him, so we'll get to
that in a little bit. Maybe you're just
>> I don't know what's going on.
>> Where was that from?
>> Uh front left my pocket.
We're keeping everyone here for a show
up.
>> Hey Brockner, everyone's got to stay
here for a show up from Forest Park.
>> You want to take a seat?
>> Just in the car. It's fine.
>> Okay. You want to take a seat till they
get home?
>> Yeah.
She know cars out here reporting. Okay.
Take this back to the station.
>> During the search, officers find cash in
both Johnson's and Macintorush's
pockets. That detail matters especially
for Macintorush since the report makes
clear that being in the vehicle alone is
not enough to prove involvement in the
burglary or theft under investigation.
Out of the three, he is the only one
whose charge is limited to controlled
substance possession, despite being
present at the same scene as the other
suspects. That gap between what's found
on someone and what they actually get
charged with so far is the weakest link
in the entire case. If you enjoy these

>> We're still waiting on a car for him,
>> I guess. So, yeah, sir.
>> What's up?
>> Can I please put my shoes on?
>> Your shoes? Sure. I can do that for you.
>> Okay.
You got to untie him and everything.
It's like I'm tying my my daughter's
shoe there.
Get them on.
>> Not too big for
my daughter's shoe horn. No, not yet.
You can call for a good
>> There you go.
Back, please.
>> That's full service right there. Thank
you, sir. All right.
We got one more car for this guy to sit
in.
>> We got one more car for that guy to sit
in.
>> Someone's in there. Someone's in 51.
>> Somebody show up. Okay.
>> Yeah. Where you at?
>> What's up?
>> Yeah. Hang on a second.
>> What's up?
>> I got a number in my phone. Girlfriend.
That's the only number I need to get. We
we'll get it when we get back to the
station. Okay. All right.
>> These officers, where' they go?
>> Two. Yeah, we'll we'll get in your phone
in just a little bit. Okay. One thing at
a time.
>> Let's go around the back here to the to
officer car. They'll put them in there.
>> Can I You
>> What?
>> Can I see what I'm being detained for?
>> Oh, yeah. You're going to talk to them
back at the PD. But right now, we're
waiting for another PD to get here to
make sure you are the guys we're looking
for. So, okay. You guys should
underneath us.
>> So, if we not the guys looking for what
happen?
>> Well, then you probably go from here,
but we'll see from
Is it a gang of people? I don't know.
I was scared to the mother.
>> All right. Just hanging tight. It'll be
a little bit. Okay.
>> All right.
>> Johnson is charged with vehicle
burglary, theft, and unlawful possession
of as a passenger. Houston is charged
with vehicle burglary, theft, and
improper use of registration, and
inaccessible parking violation, and
Macintosh only with possession of a
controlled substance. No public source
reviewed for this case identifies a case
number with the DuPage County Circuit
Court for any of the suspects, nor a
guilty plea, a trial, or a later
sentencing. Under Illinois law, vehicle
burglary can be charged as a class 2 or
class 3 felony, depending on whether the
vehicle is damaged, carrying 2 to 7
years, depending on its classification.
The theft of between $500 and $10,000
alleged against Houston is a class 3
felony carrying two to five years. And
the passenger possession charge against
Johnson is a class A misdemeanor. It
will carry less than a year and the
controlled substance charge against
Macintosh would in principle be a class
4 felony that carries 1 to 3 years. All
three of the men retain the presumption
of innocence unless DuPage County
prosecutors can prove each charge in
court.
